Those are two great songs (lyrically, I haven't heard either one sung.) "Some People" could easily be the theme song to a dream I had last night! Amazing!

"Stones In The Road" Mary Chapin Carpenter
When we were young, we pledged allegiance every morning of our lives The classroom rang with children's voices under teacher's watchful eye We learned about the world around us at our desks and at dinnertime Reminded of the starving children, we cleaned our plates with guilty minds And the stones in the road shone like diamonds in the dust And then a voice called to us to make our way back home When I was ten, my father held me on his shoulders above the crowd To see a train draped in mourning pass slowly through our town His widow kneeled with all their children at the sacred burial ground And the TV glowed that long hot summer with all the cities burning down And the stones in the road flew out beneath our bicycle tires Worlds removed from all those fires as we raced each other home And now we drink our coffee on the run, we climb that ladder rung by rung We are the daughters and the sons, and here's the line that's missing The starving children have been replaced by souls out on the street We give a dollar when we pass, and hope our eyes don't meet We pencil in, we cancel out, we crave the corner suite We kiss your ass, we make you hold, we doctor the receipt And the stones in the road fly out from beneath our wheels Another day, another deal, before we get back home And the stones in the road leave a mark from whence they came A thousand points of light or shame, baby, I don't know

She says it’s been so long she can’t remember when The mention of his name didn’t make her feel again That everything is possible and every day a brand new start Yeah love’s something powerful when it finds a willing heart
Sometimes it’s a fire burning out of control Sometimes it’s a candle burning long and low All these years she never let it go There’s a keeper for every flame
There was someone in his past that he hasn’t gotten over yet Each day’s like the last, he just misses what he can’t forget It’s just an empty space where something used to be Now he guards the gate but he’s lost the key So no one enters but no one leaves There’s a keeper for every flame
I thought my heart had broken but it was just a little bruised I thought love had spoke, guess I was just confused Sometimes we were a fire burning out of control Sometimes we were nothing but a candle glow But it never died baby and how I know There’s a keeper for every flame "A Keeper For Every Flame" - Mary Chapin Carpenter (from "Stones In The Road")

"Why Walk when You Can Fly" - Mary Chapin Carpenter (from "Stones In The Road") In this world there’s a whole lot of trouble baby In this world there’s a whole lot of pain In this world there’s a whole lot of trouble but A whole lot of ground to gain Why take when you could be giving Why watch as the world goes by It’s a hard enough life to be living Why walk when you can fly
In this world there’s a whole lot of sorrow In this world there’s a whole lot of shame In this world there’s a whole lot of sorrow And a whole lot of ground to gain When you spend your whole life wishing Wanting and wondering why It’s a long enough life to be living Why walk when you can fly
And in this world there’s a whole lot of golden In this world there’s a whole lot of plain In this world you’ve a soul for a compass And a heart for a pair of wings There’s a star on the far horizon Rising bright in an azure sky For the rest of the time that you’re given Why walk when you can fly

"Jubilee" - Mary chapin Carpenter (from "stones In The Road") I can tell by the way you’re walking, you don’t want company I’ll let you alone and I’ll let you walk on and In your own good time you’ll be Back where the sun can find you, under the wise wishing tree And with all of them made we’ll lie under the shade and call it a jubilee
And I can tell by the way you’re talking, that the past isn’t letting you go There’s only so long you can take it all on, And then the wrongs gotta be on it’s own And when you’re ready to leave it behind you, You’ll look back and all that you’ll see Is the wreckage and rust that you left in the dust on your way to the jubilee
And I can tell by the way you’re listening, That you’re still expecting to hear Your name being called like a summons to all who have failed to account For their doubts and their fears, They can’t add up to to much without you And so if it were up to me I’d take hold of your hand Saying come hear the band play your song at the jubilee
And I can tell by the way you’re searching, For something you can’t even name That you haven’t been able to come to the table, Simply glad that you came When you feel like this try to imagine that we’re all like frail boats on the sea Just scanning the night for that great guiding light announcing the jubilee
And I can tell by the way you’re standing with your eyes filling with tears That it’s habit alone that keeps you turning for home, even though your home is right here Where the people who love you are gathered, under the wise wishing tree May we all be considered then straight on delivered down to the jubilee
Because to people who love you are waiting, And they’ll wait just as long as need be When we look back and say those were halcyon days We’re talking about jubilee

"The Show Must Go On" By Queen
Empty spaces - what are we living for Abandoned places - I guess we know the score On and on, does anybody know what we are looking for... Another hero, another mindless crime Behind the curtain, in the pantomime Hold the line, does anybody want to take it anymore The show must go on The show must go on, yeah Inside my heart is breaking My make-up may be flaking But my smile still stays on
Whatever happens, I'll leave it all to chance Another heartache, another failed romance On and on, does anybody know what we are living for ? I guess I'm learning (I'm learning learning learning) I must be warmer now I'll soon be turning (turning turning turning) Round the corner now Outside the dawn is breaking But inside in the dark I'm aching to be free The show must go on The show must go on, yeah yeah Ooh, inside my heart is breaking My make-up may be flaking But my smile still stays on
Yeah yeah, whoa wo oh oh
My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies Fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die I can fly - my friends The show must go on (go on, go on, go on) yeah yeah The show must go on (go on, go on, go on) I'll face it with a grin I'm never giving in On - with the show
Ooh, I'll top the bill, I'll overkill I have to find the will to carry on On with the show On with the show The show - the show must go on

"Come As You Are" By Nirvana
Come as you are, as you were, As I want you to be As a friend, as a friend, as an old enemy Take your time, hurry up The choice is yours, don't be late Take a rest as a friend as an old memoria
Come dowsed in mud, soaked in bleach As I want you to be As a trend, as a friend, as an old memoria
And I swear that I don't have a gun No I don't have a gun

"Sympathy" by The Goo Goo Dolls
Stranger than your sympathy And this is my apology I killed myself from the inside out And all my fears have pushed you out
And I wished for things that I don't need (All I wanted) And what I chased won't set me free (All I wanted) And I get scared but I'm not crawlin' on my knees
Oh, yeah Everything's all wrong, yeah Everything's all wrong, yeah Where the hell did I think I was?
And stranger than your sympathy Take these things, so I don't feel I'm killing myself from the inside out And now my head's been filled with doubt
We're taught to lead the life you choose (All I wanted) You know your love's run out on you (All I wanted) And you can't see when all your dreams aren't coming true
Oh, yeah It's easy to forget, yeah When you choke on the regrets, yeah Who the hell did I think I was?
And stranger than your sympathy And all these thoughts you stole from me And I'm not sure where I belong And no where's home and no more wrong
And I was in love with things I tried to make you believe I was And I wouldn't be the one to kneel before the dreams I wanted And all the dark and all the lies were all the empty things disguised as me
Mmm, yeah Stranger than your sympathy Stranger than your sympathy Mmm hmmm mmm

"Looking In" By Mariah Carey
You look at me and see the girl Who lives inside the golden world But don't believe That's all there is to see You'll never know the real me
She smiles through a thousand tears And harbors adolescent fears She dreams of all That she can never be She wades in insecurity And hides herself inside of me
Don't say she takes it all for granted I'm well aware of all I have Don't think that I am disenchanted Please understand
It seems as though I've always been Somebody outside looking in Well here I am for all of them to bleed But they can't take my heart from me And they can't bring me to my knees They'll never know the real me
