Yeah, that is so true. It sometimes seems like those who have a sense of purpose about their lives do actually live shoter lifespans than everyone else. Not that it's true in all cases or anything. But everyone from Jesus (33 yrs.) to my father (59 yrs.) didn't get to live to an old age. Maybe there is some truth that 'only the good die young!' I think that Seneca is encouraging us to live our lives well, and that that is the important thing. I agree.
