"You can't expect to prevent negative feelings altogether. And you can't expect to experience positive feelings all the time. The Law of Emotional Choice directs us to acknowledge our feelings but also to refuse to get stuck in the negative ones." - Greg Anderson

I completely agree with this quote. Hey, God put those feelings there for a reason, and if utilized properly, they can benefit us. Think of it like this: a child is discovering things in the world for the first time, and his curiosity leads him to touch a light bulb that has been lit for a few hours. It burns his finger, and he begins to cry. True, the feeling that he experienced was a negative one. But just as true is the fact that he also learned something very important in life, that if you touch something hot, it will burn you! I believe the same can be applied to feelings. There are so many things to learn from them. One thing that I have learned over the years about my own feelings is that I am no more tougher or weaker than anyone else, and that the things that have affected me and hurt me have the same potential to do the same with others. So, hopefully I have learned to be more careful with how I treat others based on the experiences of my own feelings about things over the years. Great quote, and thank you for sharing.

I really found the quote great because of the reasons you have mentioned and that it is so true that when you get lost in the negative emotions that is no good in that, it can only hurt you more. I have learned that first hand, you got to learn your lessons, make the change if needed and move on.

I think you are absolutely correct, Leona. The Bible says that "as a man thinks, so he is." Our thought life is so important to control, and we've been given the power to do it...choose, that is how we are going to think and then act upon it.
