Well, I can honestly say that this one is very timely for me right now, because of the promotion at work that I just accepted. I am very excited about it, but also nervous. I have only been with the company for five years, and they were lenghty in telling me that it is very rare that they choose someone with that short a period of time with them for this type of position. They felt that I have displayed an excellent work ethic, and an ability to take on this new role and added responsibilties. Still, taking on new things is always a little scary, and this is no exception. These words give me great confidence, Leona, and I thank you for sharing them!

You'll do fine in your new position!

You'll do fine. Stay true to what you believe is right and with the knowledge I'm sure you have you will do excellent, they wouldn't have chosen you if you couldn't. The door wouldn't have opened if you couldn't pass through it.

Well, I was told that by accepting this position I would receive a lot of resentment and hostility from others who perhaps would feel slighted by my getting it with a lot fewer years in the company than they. So far, however, I have been greeted by everyone with a lot of respect and admiration for the work I do. It's kind of neat to hear a lot of things being said to you about yourself that you never knew people thought! Apparently a lot of people think kindly of me and hold me in high regard for the work I do! But nothing has meant more to me than the encouragement that I have received from the two of you! So, thank you very, very much Shavon and Leona!!
