Lara’s relationship to Quebec received a refresher this past week, as she was interviewed remotely on the program ‘Salut Bonjour’ (https://www.salutbonjour.ca/2024/03/27/lara-fabian-en-tournee-au-quebec-cet-ete?fbclid=IwAR01xsmMDhfYeQaRHgAYBLTpKj_PNjY30C-cL1Pei79p864MNR6AfCHQFHc_aem_AXTtjU83b-QaY6MV8jx-BrbbkkGD0CAYsWNegdOnFjB4j6EGOcpA2Iycx76cZgTxBurm00X8wePCjT3p0J_K9Xua) (thanks to the Lara Fabian Family FB site for the link). Here are the main points (spending some time on her answers for both the new song and her upcoming tour):
**They showed a portion of the clip for “Ta peine” and noted it has already had 2 million views.
**When asked about the reception it had received, Lara indicated she was very grateful, that you can never take it for granted.
**Considering the song, she also noted that “I find it beautiful that are we going to be able to hear others on this album whose direction is to listen, that we talk about resilience, we talk a lot about how to cross certain bridges in life, facing certain waves, it has become a bit of my specialty I admit. What do we make of the impacts… pain exists for everyone, the crossings exist for everyone but what do we do with pain once we are stuck with a little bit of it…It is a song that tells you or anyone else in our first second or third circle give me your pain, I would be able to metabolize it with you, I would be able to eliminate it with you, we will be able but we have to (have an attitude of) “we're together” and if you need me, you need support, you have the ear or a shoulder just a silence by your side in my presence but I'm here for you.”
**The host noted that Lara will be bringing her ‘Je t’aime” tour to Quebec (and Ottawa) this summer, and wondered how it was going to be presented… Lara used the opportunity to cast the tour in the framework of ‘Ta peine’ by saying, “Through my entire career then all my songs there has always been somewhere a structure of pain and at the same time there has always been light on this structure of pain so I think that my entire ‘best of’ repertoire will travel through this idea and I believe that the beautiful thing it's that 35 years later we can still sing Je t’aime, we can still sing if you love me with all that it implies to have written it, but also and above all everything that has allowed us to have gone through them… we need to share that, we need to say hey it's possible we can survive something that impacts us, we have the means if we choose them to be well at a given moment in our lives, and above all we can also confide in and ask for help. It is urgent to do so, not forget in the taboo in the denial of pain, but live in the fact that sharing it or entrust it to someone that who is not necessarily that it can touch but that we can cross with more ease…”
**The host then noted “people have spoken of finding all that comfort there through your songs” and that Lara would be in concert on June 8 in Trois-Rivières, in Montreal June 10 and 11, June 14 June 15 in Ottawa and at the Grand Théâtre de Québec on June 17 18. The host commented, "It's a lot of show days but do we have a release date for this upcoming album, people are going to want to obtain it?”
**Lara replied that her goal was for it to be ready “the end of October mid-November maximum”.

So in this way, Lara is entraining the Je t’aime tour into the philosophy espoused in Ta peine and presumably the new album. Again, we’ll see whether Ta peine actually makes it into the setlist – with this new framing, the likelihood is increasing. The tickets for the Canadian concerts are available on her larafabian.com URL, and now the tickets for the 2025 concerts in France, Belgium and Switzerland are there also.
As an indication of Lara’s desire to make her forecast for the data of the album’s appearance come true, she released the following set of pictures, at
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=994427702041523&set=pcb.994427742041519
with the caption, “Those precious moments to share @yaacovsalah @slimane ... the best is yet to come 🖤🤍” - indicative of her working on additional songs for the new album with Slimane. Forecasts for album releases are notoriously inaccurate, both with respect to how long it takes to finish them and the schedule of release by the companies involved. However, there is the added incentive to have it ready for the Christmas holidays; still, we shall see…
Other than that, there were several articles concerned with what Lara discussed in Quelle epoch! For one, from the journal des femmes (https://www.journaldesfemmes.fr/people/magazine/3169668-infos-people-en-france-mars-2024-kate-middleton-anne-sophie-lapix/3169726-lara-fabian):

Lara Fabian, upset: “I wanted to end life”
Intense suffering. Currently very fulfilled, Lara Fabian has not always been comfortable in her own skin and has even considered the worst when her powerful voice was the subject of strong criticism. “At one point I wanted to end life. Because my voice was my life. My voice is my soul and people said they hated hearing me sing, that I was screaming", explained the 43 year old in “Quelle epoch!”.
----------------------------------------
We have heard this before, as Lara noted it in conjunction with the song “Parce que tu pars”. She has also commented that there is a great distance between the thought and the deed. Fortunately, none of this is currently relevant.
Then there was this from Pure People (https://www.purepeople.com/article/-j-aurais-bien-aime-lara-fabian-evoque-son-histoire-d-amour-avec-patrick-fiori-et-refute-une-information-de-lea-salame_a521211/1):

“I would have liked to”: Lara Fabian talks about her love story with Patrick Fiori and refutes information from Léa Salamé
Invited by Léa Salamé on the set of the show “Quelle époque!” Saturday March 23, 2024 on France 2, Lara Fabian was questioned about her past love story with Patrick Fiori. She notably denied information launched by the journalist.
Saturday March 23, 2024, France 2 broadcast a new issue of the show Quelle époque!, presented by Léa Salamé. Like every week since the launch of her weekly talk show in 2022, the journalist has welcomed several personalities on her set. Among the various guests of the week, France 2 viewers were notably able to see Lara Fabian. The successful singer, who is still mainly known today for her hit called Je t'aime, took part in the photocall opposite Léa Salamé. In this essential sequence from the show Quelle époque!, the host reveals photos of different personalities to her guests, before asking them what questions they would like to ask these people if they were in front of them.
Among the various celebrities who slipped into Lara Fabian's photocall, we can notably cite the singer Patrick Fiori. “I was delighted to see you again, and you?”, said the musician after the photo of her former companion appeared on the screen. Subsequently, Léa Salamé recalled that the two artists formed a couple “for two years ”. However, it seems that the information released by the journalist on set was not the correct one, given that Lara Fabian immediately denied it. “No, not as much, you have bad information,” said the singer to the presenter of Quelle époque!, before specifying: “I would have liked to, but it ended before. That’s how it is.” For the record, it was in 1998 that Lara Fabian and Patrick Fiori began their love story.
Lara Fabian and Patrick Fiori: media over-coverage killed their relationship
At the time, the singer had just received a Diamond Album, as well as a double Gold Disc, while her companion played the role of Phoebus in the legendary musical comedy Notre-Dame de Paris. Unfortunately, the budding romance between the two artists was cut short due to the over-publicization of their relationship. Indeed, throughout their romance, Patrick Fiori and Lara Fabian were relentlessly hounded by the paparazzi, which had a lasting effect on their love. Ultimately, this separation was a good thing for both artists, given that they both met their respective spouses afterwards.

Note there are numerous photos of Lara and Patrick following the text of this article. As for the previous subject, this one too is about the past.
Interesting photo(s)/video(s) of the week:

People were surprised that Lara has never had a single which reached #1 in France, the highest being Tout at #4.

Lara’s first Je t’aime concerts are coming up in a little more than two weeks, so one would imagine that rehearsals will be her main order of business during that time. She’ll probably find it rewarding to get back on stage, with a set list that may well play up the ‘Ta peine’ philosophy, while still encompassing the usual ‘greatest hits’.
