If you think this is pretty far in advance to be selling tickets, you’re right. Consider this article (https://www.dakotanewsnow.com/content/news/Have-you-ever-wondered-Why-do-concert-tickets-go-on-sale-so-far-in-advance-490279521.html):
---------------------------------------
Have you ever wondered: Why do concert tickets go on sale so far in advance?
Fleetwood Mac is performing in Sioux Falls on Wednesday, October 24th. But tickets for the concert went on sale July 27th, which is about three months in advance. One viewer wants to know why they have to go on sale so far in advance.
Ticketmaster is the number one way people are buying tickets to concerts now.
"Before Ticketmaster, you would normally see people camped out for several nights to make sure they were towards the front of the line," Rick Huffman said, who is the director of marketing and public relations at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
Fans started waiting in line for Fleetwood Mac tickets at 6:00 AM the day they went on sale.
"For really big on sales, we usually recommend that maybe somebody, they come out here and they stand in line with their phone or their tablet and try different ways to get tickets, to get the tickets as quickly as possible", Huffman said.
The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center doesn't make any decisions when it comes to the ticketing process.
"All the ticketing decisions are made by the show itself by the promoter. They'll determine when the tickets for the general public will go on sale," he said. "And they'll determine what the ticket prices are."
Each show varies on when the promoter decides to sell tickets.
"Right now, we're in a time when the concert touring industry is just phenomenal. So there's a lot of competition out there, and the promoters are thinking about what's the best advantage they can get for the show," Huffman said.
And there may be an advantage to physically going to a box office to purchase tickets.
"All of our on-site sales have had really good success at getting everyone through with tickets," he said.
Fans usually aren't able to choose their seats if they go to the box office. Huffman said the best available seats are already chosen and this gets people through the process faster.
-------------------------------------
This article notes that fans consider three months a long time. And from Quora (www.quora.com) there’s this:
“Usually the tickets go on sale two/three months before the show but sometimes it's only a few weeks depending on who's organizing it. Nearly half of all tickets are sold either three or more months before the show or during the week of the event. Less than 7% of tickets are sold on the day of the show. For music festivals, consider waiting until 13 days beforehand, as tickets tend to be 30% below the overall average at that time.”
While these may have a North American perspective, the timing discussed is fairly general – three months is considered the most usual time. The tickets for Lara’s shows are being offered 18-20 months (!) before the concerts. In comparison, Taylor Swift’s concert tickets are now on sale for her fall, 2024 shows, and that’s considered a generous time period. One can speculate as to why Lara or her promoter chose to sell tickets so far in advance– perhaps Lara wants to maintain the momentum of the idea of a new album, in the wake of the release of the single, and since the album itself isn’t available, publicizing a concert tour might seem the next best thing, even if it’s far far away. Or maybe as the article says the timing is generally the promoter’s idea, and they want to capitalize on Lara’s newly renewed favorable standing in the French press. Whatever the reason, one can imagine at least some people will take advantage of this lead time; tickets actually went on sale last Friday.
As you may have noticed, these tickets are not available on the larafabian.com website, which makes no mention of them. We’ll see if there are any more concerts scheduled in conjunction with the ones that are available there, the so-called “Je t’aime” concerts, for the rest of 2024 or perhaps even early 2025.
In other news, Lara is expanding the reality TV programs on which she appears, now to include the Voice Belgium, as she shows at
with the comment, “😍 Lara Fabian will be present during the 1st Live to support the Talents and perform two songs!” This will take place today (March 19th) at 8:20 pm. Hopefully there will be videos .
The Lara Fabian - L'etoile des anges FB site posted the video of Lara answering questions concerning her favorite pleasures (songs) for aufemin, at
www.facebook.com/Nathalie.caille.ange/videos/926847122377800
Here are the main points
**She has never used “Je t’aime” to declare her love. She still wouldn’t dare.
**The song which makes her smile is “Here Comes the Sun” from the Beatles.
**She doesn’t listen to any song in the shower because she has water in her ears.
*The song which she sang all the time when she was a child was by Michel Fugian, called “Une belle histoire. It’s a beautiful story, and it reminds her of all the holiday returns. She was hyper nostalgic about leaving Sicily and she’d put that song on a loop.
**The song which she’d listen to alone in the car is “Can’t Stop the Feeling” from Justin Timberlake.
**The song she listens to in order to concentrate is not truly a song, but Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. She knows that sounds somewhat bizarre, but it works for her.
**The song that she listens to when she feels melancholic is probably ‘Voir un ami pleurer’ from Jacques Brel. She says it's a universal hymn about listening, about how powerless we feel when someone we love is in distress, but at the same time, a song that dissipates the storm when there's one inside.
**The song which she’s singing on a loop right now is an Italian song of Laura Pausini called ‘Durare’.
**When asked if there was a song that she was ashamed to have listened to, Lara replied that she’s never ashamed of listening to anything, because she believes that in music, there's no such thing. There's nothing to be ashamed of. There are only songs that have been loved, maybe even once, by the public, and that have become legendary. And as an example of that she offered up “Born to Be Alive” by Patrick Hernandez.
**A song which makes here cry is “A Fleur de Toit”, sung by Slimane from Vitaa. She remembers that the first time she saw this interpretation she looked for clips of Slimane and this was the first one which popped up. She was alone in a hotel room in Budapest and it was incredible.
**The song that she listens to at the end of the evening is Ave Maria from Caccini sung by Natalie Dessay. But she also has another: Dancing Queen by ABBA. And then she would stand up and like a madwoman lose everything on her body.
**The last song she could be heard singing is (of course) Ta peine, which she co-wrote with Slimane and which speaks of healing, of the way we sometimes witness the pain of others and really feel the urgency and need to help them, to reach out to them.

Speaking of Ta peine, Lara’s official video of it has garnered one million views in three weeks, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFYwtIL95wk). In comparison, here are the views of her other relatively recent (within the past 8 years) official videos:
Nos coeurs a la fenetre, released three years ago, has 1.4 million views.

Growing Wings, released six years ago, has 3.3 million views
www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDBhnj0KMi0
Choose What You Love Most, also from six years ago, has 6.3 million views

We’ll see (eventually) how many views Ta peine receives – not that youtube necessarily is the arbiter of popularity, especially for French songs in France.

Good question!
Sad news: it appears that the Lara Fabian est ton autre FB site has closed, for it has been down for over a week. Facebook never says a site has closed – they offer the alternative that it now allows only select people to view it, but in the case of long-standing open sites, that’s never really the case. This Belgian site has for many years been a fountain of information about Lara, often available nowhere else, and had many supporters. The reason why sites close can obviously be many, and speculation is inappropriate – if anybody has further insight, please let us know (and of course let us know if this is not really the case), not that it actually changes anything. We thank them for all their work over the years, and wish them the best going forward.
At some point Lara should be getting ready for her April concerts in Eastern Europe, now about a month away. One interesting question – will she actually sing ‘Ta peine’ in these “Je t’aime” concerts? In the past she has not updated her setlist to include her newest songs, waiting until ‘their time’ before unveiling them, but the ‘renewed Lara’ may want to wet the appetite of a larger audience for her upcoming album (and the much later tour). When that album is finally available, will Lara think it’s appropriate for Eastern Europe? Perhaps we’ll find out sooner rather than later.
