Lara continued making news on various ‘fronts’ this past week. We’ll go through them one by one:
HER MOTHER: Lara appeared on belrtl, as shown on her Instagram site, at
Here is what was said:
--------------------------------
Lara: “Me, I lost my mother from a complex disease, neurologically degenerative, very very serious, which is called “dementia with Lewy Bodies. It’s a mix between Alzheimer and Parkinson. It is coupled with extremely violent hallucinations so it's progressive and seesaw, sometimes the person can remember very much what is around and then behind that she disappears completely. And if I can talk about it today with so much hindsight, first I have written a song about it L’oubli, which I dedicated to my mother with a clip where she appears for the last time. And if I wanted to break the silence on that I wanted to talk about it. That it's a stage in my life. It's because it also allowed me to be extremely resilient. it allowed me to make of this loss a double understanding of the subject, that is to say: one we must speak when we have a problem. we must ask for help. No, just because someone is losing their mind next to us that doesn’t mean we should be ashamed or humiliated. There is nothing humiliating about illness there is something that should humanize us even more, there are a lot of people who are ready to help us, reach out to, whom we have tools to help us, get through when someone loses the way.
Host:’ I am very moved because I also lost my mother and a few years we received MIKA some time ago with his album where he tells where he also explains to what extent his mother accompanied him until at the end despite the fact that it was a little different it's true and so we have a thought this morning and finally this afternoon for all indeed who have lost a near one.

Lara’s discussion of this was covered in numerous media outlets, for example from Gala (https://www.gala.fr/l_actu/news_de_stars/lara-fabian-touchante-sur-la-maladie-qui-a-tue-sa-mere-il-ny-a-rien-dhumiliant_537809):

[Skipping the first part which basically replays much of Lara’s statement from above…)
An illness that made Lara Fabian resilient
Very close to her mother, the 54-year-old artist confided that seeing her mother suffer like this had made her more resilient, even if, obviously, it was a hard ordeal: "It's a step in my life. It allowed me to be extremely resilient. It allowed me to make this loss a double understanding of the subject,” she revealed in particular. During her illness, Lara Fabian's mother could "sometimes come back, remember very, very surreptitiously what [was] around her. And then behind, she [disappeared] completely". Lou's mother also explained that it was easier for her to talk about it today, because she had written a song, "L'Oubli", on the subject, which she had dedicated to her. In the clip, Maria Luisa Serio even appeared for the last time, pointed out the one who is preparing to release an album with Slimane, whose first single, entitled "Ta peine", was unveiled at the end of January. A return that the artist's fans have been waiting for, for a while.
-----------------
Then the STAR ACADEMIE: Lara was discussed in an article on Tele Loisirs (https://www.programme-tv.net/news/people/346573-lara-fabian-se-souvient-de-cette-question-posee-par-un-candidat-de-la-star-academy-qui-la-marquee/):

Lara Fabian remembers this question asked by a Star Academy candidate which left an impression on her
Recently appearing on the set of Star Academy , Lara Fabian shared a memory she kept from the prime shared with Héléna
Lara Fabian has plenty of good news... Appearing in the last season of Star Academy, which has just ended with Pierre's victory, the singer unveiled her new single co-written with Slimane, entitled Ta peine. The title evokes empathy, an ability that Lara Fabian demonstrated during the Star Academy adventure and which is part of her nature. Guest in the program Décibels on France Bleu, this Wednesday February 7, the artist mentioned a memory of her participation in the reality TV show, in which she helped and advised the academicians to improve their performance.
“I’m listening, that’s all”: Lara Fabian reveals her secret to a Star Academy candidate
Coach of The Voice, or more recently even of Dream Team, Lara Fabian proves once again that she loves transmitting her passion for singing. Appearing in the eleventh season of Star Academy, the singer shared a duet with the young Belgian, Héléna. She also remembered an exchange she had with one of the students on the prime, who was visibly amazed by the performance of the two singers: “I have just had an incredible moment with the Star Academy. When it was over, there was one of the boys who said to me 'what is magic, what are you doing' I said to him "I'm listening, that's all. I'll tell you look, you really matter to me' and from this way of listening, we hear what the other is telling us and we can understand whether or not we can make what we call an invitation", she explains on the microphone of Émilie Mazoyer. Lara Fabian does not intend to stop helping others, she confides on France Bleu: "Half of my life is devoted to transmission and I discovered a great love for the fact of contributing, of giving to the following, to be a shoulder, to be an ear... I discovered the richness of being a good listener".
“I was overwhelmed to watch her look at someone”: Marlène Schaff recalls the memory she has of Lara Fabian’s time on Star Academy
A few days ago, a Star Academy teacher also spoke about the memory she had of Lara Fabian's performance. Marlène Schaff, a fervent admirer of the singer, then confided in the Générations Star Academy podcast, broadcast on France Bleu, that the performance of the duet between Héléna and Lara Fabian had been the best memory of the season for her: "Last year when she sang Je T'aime with Léa, I was a puddle in the audience. I was delighted that I wasn't being filmed. The look Lara gave Léa made me so touched, I was overwhelmed to watch her look at someone. This year, same thing with the masterclass with her". It therefore seems that the Lara Fabian effect does not diminish over the years!
-----------------------------
And speaking of the Star Academie, the candidate that Lara may have helped the most, Pierre, was the winner. He gives her credit in the following article (https://www.gala.fr/l_actu/news_de_stars/pierre-garnier-star-academy-touche-par-sa-rencontre-avec-lara-fabian-elle-a-debloque-quelque-chose_537778):

Pierre Garnier (Star Academy) touched by his meeting with Lara Fabian: “She unlocked something”
This Wednesday, February 7, 2024, Pierre Garnier, winner of the eleventh season of Star Academy, made touching confidences about his meeting with Lara Fabian in the columns of Ici Paris magazine .
The eleventh season of Star Academy ended this Saturday, February 3 with Pierre's victory against Julien. Since his coronation, the 21-year-old young man has found a real life outside the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys and has continued interviews and appearances on television . The adventure of the interpreter of Ceux qu'on était was marked by his duet with James Arthur, Dadju's surprise during the final, but also by a touching moment shared with Lara Fabian. In the columns of Ici Paris, the singer returned to his meeting with Johnny Hallyday's friend .
Pierre Garnier assures the magazine that his meeting with Lara Fabian will mark him forever. As a reminder, the former student had burst into tears in the arms of the singer during a rehearsal at the castle. “I was a little less in shape and Lara detected it. When she took me in her arms, without saying anything to me, she unlocked something”, he explains. Before continuing: "I, who am not emotional, broke down. I don't think I had ever cried like that. It did me good. It's a strong moment that I will never forget”…
[The rest does not concern Lara].
----------------------------------
THE NEW ALBUM: Lara discussed a bit more about her album with Slimane (https://www.francebleu.fr/emissions/decibels-l-emission/lara-fabian-on-travaille-sur-l-album-avec-slimane-5932693):
-------------------------
Lara Fabian: “We are working on the album with Slimane”
Lara Fabian is back with a new single entitled “Ta peine” co-written with Slimane. If this single is a harbinger of an album to come, the singer of “Je t’aime” wants to take her time.
Je t’aime, Tout, J’y crois encore ,... If you like Lara Fabian, you must be in heaven since January 26 and the release of her single co-written with Slimane Ta peine, a song about the hope: "How do we get through the pain and how can we, if we succeed, ourselves, at that moment be of service to someone who is going through it. Is the meaning of one life, is not to contribute to the other?"
And despite the success and the habit of releasing new titles, Lara Fabian is still excited about the release of a new single: "Are we still excited 30 years later? Yes, it's even more than only excitement, it's a mixture with impatience to know how people will perceive it and also a great desire to be calm about it. I like the simplicity of this song and I love it. I have confidence that what I said is in perfect alignment with what I feel."
As for knowing when the album that the single seems to announce will be released, Lara Fabian assures that she will take the time she needs: "We are working on it. I'm not putting any pressure on our inspirations but we have this crazy ambition with Slimane. We have this slightly crazy ambition to tell a broader, bigger story, over several episodes, we'll see". An approach that will be back on the Enfoirés stage on March 1st in partnership with France Bleu she explains on Emilie Mazoyer's microphone: "It's right in relation to the music. It's truly in phase with the music. I have an expression that I like in Quebec, it's 'Don't pull the carrot '. We can't afford to go faster than the music."
Her voice which can sometimes eclipse her talents as an author and composer, joy as inspiration, her rediscovered serenity: Lara Fabian is Emilie Mazoyer's guest in Décibels

LES ENFOIRES: And then there was an article about Les Enfoires (https://www.cesoirtv.com/news/actu/1339-exclu-lara-fabian-et-antoine-dupont-devoilent-les-coulisses-des-enfoires-2024/):
------------------------------
Exclusive. Lara Fabian and Antoine Dupont reveal behind the scenes of Enfoirés 2024
A great singing voice, a genius of the oval ball… These two “artists” participated in the 35th Enfoirés show to be broadcast in March on TF1. They extend the exchange for TV Grandes Chaînes, of which they make the front page for issue 519 on newsstands on Saturday February 10.
In 1997, Lara Fabian made a sensational entry into France with Tout, a title which allowed her to find a place in the hearts of the French. A few months before, in Lannemezan, in the Hautes-Pyrénées, Antoine Dupont, future rugby virtuoso and French international, was born. Almost thirty years later, both are on stage at the Arkéa Arena in Bordeaux for the 35th Enfoirés show. We found them a few days later to “debrief”. The two icons, so different, lend themselves to the game of questions with humility, simplicity and a touch of mischief. An exchange to be found in issue 519 of TV Grandes Chaînes available on newsstands on Saturday February 10.
TV Grandes Chaînes: Lara, what are your two memorable memories from this edition of Les Enfoirés?
Lara Fabian: On stage, the poetry of the painting on the song by Zaho de Sagazan, The Symphony of Lightning, with these clouds dotting the stage. Backstage, I remember a monstrous laugh with Christophe Willem who was returning from a sketch, disguised as Dalida [the singer, hilariously, wears a long dress from the disco era and an imposing blonde wig while pretending to be Dalida, editor's note], I don't think I'll ever get over it!
Antoine, you appear in two paintings, what are they?
Antoine Dupont: The first, on the song Résiste by France Gall, lists all the athletes who have passed through the Enfoirés. The second, dedicated to the Olympics, highlights several sports. I represent rugby sevens there [the player will join the French rugby sevens team during the Games, editor's note].
Are you forcing your nature by coming to the Enfoirés stage?
AD: It's a difficulty for me, I'm much more comfortable on the field than on stage! In addition, it is not something that is rehearsed or worked on well in advance. I don't have any talent for singing or dancing, so it's very strange to be here. [Laughs.]
Antoine, would you like to sing on a future edition?
AD: I'm not a great singer, but some people aren't either and yet still get wet. So why not, by working a little more on my passage. But nothing complicated in any case. I couldn't sing Lara Fabian!
LF: [Laughs.] As for me, I would be pretty useless with a ball in my hands!
Lara, you say that Les Enfoirés changed your career, in what sense?
In 1998, after singing Requiem pour un fou with Johnny Hallyday on the Enfoirés stage, he joined me in the dressing rooms with a spray of orange roses and asked me to sing it with him at the Stade de France. It's quite sacred to be the only woman he invited to this event.
The entire interview can be found in TV Grandes Chaînes, number 519, on newsstands this Saturday February 10, 2024.

As can be seen, Lara’s media ‘blitz’ will be continuing. It’s reminiscent of various other such media blitzes she’s had in past years, although it might seem new to some since she’s been away for a good while. One imagines it will continue in one form or another until at least the Enfoire show airs, and the album released at the beginning of March; the album normally rises to the top on the French charts, so Lara will profit from that as well. After that, eventually there will be the eastern European tour dates in April. There’s little doubt that Lara is back in Europe for the foreseeable future.
