Lara released a photo of the various singers who interacted with Florent Pagny on his upcoming duets album, available on her FB and Instagram pages, at
www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=856454399172188&set=a.259330805551220
and
with the caption, “Happy to have met up with @pagny_officiel again
mingle our voices again on the track "Et maintenant" ...
Picture by Yann Orhan”.
The word 'again' is used by Lara, as she has sung this with him before, e.g., www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mi0E0pLLxf0. That was an amazing collaboration; it will be interesting to see how this compares, for both of them.
The album is due for release on September 1, but is already available for pre-order (e.g., florentpagny.store/products/cd-greenpack-2-bis)
The tracklist for the album is:
- "N'importe quoi" en duo avec Patrick Bruel;- "Comme d'habitude" en duo avec M.Pokora;
- "Si tu veux m'essayer" en duo avec Zazie;- "Bienvenue chez moi" en duo avec Soprano;
- "Caruso" en duo avec Patrick Fiori;- "Savoir Aimer" en duo avec Pascal Obispo;
- "Chanter" en duo avec Anggun;- "Jolie Môme" en duo avec Marc Lavoine;
- "Et un jour une femme" en duo avec Christophe Maé;- "Châtelet les halles" en duo avec Calogero;- "Et maintenant" en duo avec Lara Fabian;- "Ma liberté de penser" en duo avec Amel Bent;- "Io le canto per te" en duo avec Kendji;- "Là où je t'emmènerai" en duo avec Carla Bruni;
- "Vesoul" en duo avec Vianney;- "C'est comme ça" en duo avec Diego Torres;
- "Les murs porteurs" en duo avec Slimane;- "Habana" en duo avec Raul Paz;
- "Je te promets" en duo avec Jenifer;- "Rafale de vent" en duo avec Anne Sila
Certainly a wonderful set of voices. It was said that he was very nervous going into this, not wanting to waste these voices if he couldn’t sing. But it turned out he could, hence this result.
Although this is too off-topic for us to pursue here, an article about the state of health of Florent Pagny (he is battling lung cancer), and the necessity for him to ‘preserve himself’, can be found at (https://www.marieclaire.fr/il-doit-se-preserver-pour-le-retour-sur-scene-de-florent-pagny-ses-medecins-lui-donnent-des-consignes,1456221.asp).
Otherwise Lara spent most of the week still on vacation in Sicily, which she indicated by another Instagram ‘story’, available (thanks to the Lara Fabian - L'étoile des anges FB site) at
www.facebook.com/Nathalie.caille.ange/videos/810333940622074
It was discussed in this article from (https://www.noovomoi.ca/en-vedette/lara-fabian-video-destination-vacances-eau-turquoise-plage.html):

Deserted beach and turquoise water: Lara Fabian makes us die of jealousy with this video
Lara Fabian showed us around her little haven of peace, the place where she spent her holidays in the sun in a video that certainly makes us jealous!
It was on her Instagram account that the singer actually chatted with her subscribers, explaining to them that she was already in her last moments of rest on the beach.
In the short extract, we hear the offshore wind as she shows the deserted beach and the turquoise water ready to welcome her for a last swim! The decor is worthy of a romantic film with the small fence surrounded by bright red flowers and what about the sky where no cloud appears on the horizon!
A selfie in a two-piece swimsuit!
This isn't the first glimpse of her dream vacation that Lara Fabian shares with us! The famous singer unveiled a beautiful photo of her in a swimsuit a week ago.
In the image, the diva poses in a stunning floral two-piece. She exudes happiness and it's simply contagious!

The article mentioned these were the ‘last days’ of her vacation, and so over the weekend, Lara flew back to Paris, as she indicated in several posts on her social media sites. The first, at
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=857209455763349&set=a.259330805551220
and
came with the caption, “En route towards Paris”
Then there was,
with the caption, “Delicious moment at @lafontainedemars”
And this from Martin Rouleau (as posted on the Lara Fabian America FB site):
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=686401730187612&set=a.641815154646270
with the caption, “Last night in Paris, en route to a memorable meal at La Closerie des Lilas with my soul mate, Lara. What better way to end this trip. Precious moments, eternal friendship. Until next time, Paris!” - at La closerie des Lilas.
Outside of her going ‘out and about’ on the town, we don’t know exactly what Lara is coming back to Paris for, though presumably it’s work related. One element that may have been a relief: temperatures in Sicily late last week reached 95F (35C), while in Paris this past weekend, they were in the mid 70s(F) (24C).
Interesting photo(s)/video(s) of the week:
From the Lara Fabian Family FB site, a video from 30 years ago of Lara in Quebec, at
www.facebook.com/reel/290936603312091
Their description reads, “A young Lara, during rehearsals for the concert on a Canadian cruise ship “MV Georgia” with her band in the fall of 1992 in Montreal, Canada.”
Pictures from Lara’s latest Instagram reel can be found, from the Lara Fabian America FB site, at
www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=690397836433278&set=pcb.690398476433214
The Lara Fabian The Netherlands FB site reposted a more ‘dynamic’ view of the ‘duets’ picture associated with Florent Pagny. It can be found at
www.facebook.com/FlorentPagnyOfficiel/videos/814872533502628
BTW, the Lara Fabian the Netherlands FB site did a very complete series of posts concerning the song Carusso, including (but not limited to) various pictures and links to Lara’s singing of the song, at
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=764207529045973&set=pcb.764209812379078
(see the many other links provided. There are also a number of links to Italian music and film in general, at
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=764906258976100&set=pcb.764906825642710; and to other renditions of the song at
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=764249429041783&set=a.763203645813028.
Hard to imagine how long it took to put that together!]. All very appropriate, considering Lara's leaving of Sicily now, to go back to her current work environment in France.
In that same spirit, there was an interesting review of Lara’s singing ‘Perdere l’amore’ by an Italian vocal coach, at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlQJ71eECHY
He does a (very) detailed analysis of Lara’s vocal technique (which applies not only to this song, of course, but to her work in general). He calls her a ‘living manual of vocal technique’, and this emphasizes how much technical mastery goes into the way she sings that so moves people. And how much she could really offer to singers as a teacher.
While the following doesn’t quite fit as either picture or video, there is a ‘brainy quotes’ site that lists what they consider Lara’s most relevant quotes (though who makes these choices is unclear, and one can think of numerous others). It can be found at
www.brainyquote.com/authors/lara-fabian-quotes
Here are a few examples:
**I've been compared to so many people - Streisand, Celine - it doesn't bother me. Why worry about being compared to the best?
** I'm a very optimistic person, woman, mother and singer. And at the same time, I'm very realistic when I look at other aspects of my life.
** I had 10 years of lessons at the conservatory in Belgium, studying classical music. I learned how to sing, play the piano, and all the theory that I needed. By the time I left, I had confidence in my skills, and I knew that the experience had prepared me to become a real professional.
This last one relates to the ‘reaction video’ above, where the vocal coach notes that Lara’s connection to her head and chest voices is more like that of a pop singer than an opera singer, despite the classical training.
We will (eventually) find out what Lara will be doing in Paris (there are numerous possibilities). Meanwhile, keep cool!
