Sunday was Mother’s Day in Belgium and Canada (though not in France, where it takes place on June 4). The Lara Fabian est ton autre FB site included a picture of Lara with Lou, at
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=783246986503438&set=a.216252733202869
which raises the question of exactly where is Lara, and was she with Lou for Mother’s Day?
Actually, Lara missed an opportunity to interact with fans concerning Mother’s Day, something she’s done in the past; so we’ll do it for her, using her own words and pictures from the past. First,
www.facebook.com/443548625770236/photos/a.443804005744698/2947358878722519/?type=3&paipv=0&eav=AfbLN_fCDs2pe_Bz9Z6WGIIp0m09v977e7dO1Ce_3tuBcMRmLDiJMVpOHzmoVyU4KNw&_rdr),
with the text, “After Star Académie's unique and extraordinary adventure, I am back!!! And I am reaching out to you for this Mother’s Day weekend! Wishing you all to connect or reconnect around this beautiful event. May music continue to be our joy and fulfill our lives. Happy mother’s day, enjoy my flowery Lockdown Sessions! Hugs and Love, Lara”
All of this, from 2021, still applies.
And then there is this:
with the text, “Happy Mother's Day to all the moms...
I'm pinching myself... How lucky i am”
Also still true.
Lara’s main public contribution this past week was a charitable one, with an Instagram reel containing the following message: “Hello everybody. I am Lara Fabian and I have exciting news for you. I have joined forces with Global Gift Foundation and 8 Ball Pool. Download the game and for free. And you make a donation by getting my exclusive avatar” and using it in the game.
The opening picture of this ‘story’ can be seen at

The Global Gift Foundation “is a philanthropic non-profit organization that aims to create a positive impact on the lives of children, women and families who are in need.” Its web page is: www.globalgiftfoundation.org/ Of course, Eva Longoria, Lara’s good friend, is closely associated with it, being the honorary chair of the Global Gift Gala, at which Lara has occasionally appeared.
8 Ball Pool has as its advertising blurb: “Do you want to play in the world of pool games? 8 Ball Pool is an addictive challenging game based on real 3D pool games, where you will challenge your friends online. Become a master of the pool!

The French TV version of the show called “The Mask Singer” (now in season 5) includes celebrities hidden under extravagant costumes. This past week a new (masked) international star joined the cast, as the ‘Carnivorous Plant’. Given that it is masked, the public doesn’t know who it is. Some people suggested it is Lara (https://www.legossip.net/la-plante-carnivore-de-mask-singer-lara-fabian-enfin-demasquee/582609/). The suggestive hints provided was that it asked that it be spoken to it in English (perhaps to throw people off), indicates it is ‘known all over the world’, that ‘it sings well’, and seems to be female (https://www.world-today-news.com/carnivorous-plant-unveiled-in-mask-singer-who-is-hiding-under-the-costume/). Of course, there are many other possible women with those same attributes who could be interested in being on a French speaking program (https://euro.dayfr.com/trends/amp/188805). An argument against it being Lara is that she is likely busy with the new TF1 show. A promo for this latest episode, showing the masked candidate, can be found at: www.instagram.com/reel/CsJG_KbIVOT/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading Eventually people will find out…
A number of the fan sites are warning about ‘fake Lara Fabian’ accounts trying to scam people. They should be straightforward to avoid; the following is nothing you haven’t heard before. First don’t mistake a fan site, real or fake, for the official one. There is only one official Lara Fabian Facebook site, at www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/ and it has a blue circle with a white checkmark next to her name on top, indicating authenticity. There is also only one official Instagram site, at www.instagram.com/larafabianofficial/ , and it too has the checkmark in the blue circle on top next to ‘larafabianofficial’. As far as Twitter goes (a moot point, because, Lara never uses it anymore), the official one is at twitter.com/LFabianOfficial. It doesn’t have a checkmark, probably because she refuses to pay for it (although legacy accounts may be avoiding that), but, conversely, anybody can pay the $8/month and get the checkmark, so it is no longer a badge of authenticity. Lara’s official boutique (shop) is at larafabian.com, or larafabian.shop. Even on the official sites, and probably more so on the fan pages, beware of people selling Lara paraphernalia in the comments section; in general for sellers one has never heard of, search for them or their product on-line and see if anybody has reported them as scammers, involved with ‘fishing’, or any other type of malware. [And if you personally find out about one, make that known on social media]. Lara’s official youtube channel, also rarely used, is at www.youtube.com/user/larafabianoff; don’t be fooled by those youtube posts that promise on-line access to the ‘live concerts’ that Lara is actually doing. There is an official Lara page on TikTok, at www.tiktok.com/@larafabianofficial where she puts reels that generally showed up on her Instagram page. There are ‘private’ Lara fan club sites where you have to register to belong; obviously, never enter any personal information that is not readily available elsewhere. There are some well-established personal selling sites, such as ebay and etsy, and some that advertise on Instagram. Even for these, as with with any place on the web, the dictum ‘caveat emptor’ (let the buyer beware) applies. When Lara had an active manager (her father at one time) for her website, he would tell people if you hear of something about Lara, some news, some concert, or some product, don’t believe it until you hear it from Lara herself on her official sites. Good to remember. Finally, as Mary Barbieri points out, also don’t believe Lara is contacting you personally. Lara has often repeated the story that when she was contacted by (the actual) Barbra Streisand, she hung up, refusing to believe it. If she can act that way (even though in that one-in-a-million case it was wrong), so can we.
Interesting photo(s)/video(s) of the week:
From the Lara Fabian est ton autre FB site, some beautiful pictures of Lara (provided by Ilia Baburashvili) from the private concert she did at the Tbilisi Opera Theater in Georgia, at:

Speaking of beautiful pictures, the Lara Fabian The Netherlands FB site posted some that were artistically edited by Gina Funes, at
www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=716008057199254&set=pcb.716008137199246
A youtube video of the complete set can be found, as listed on that site, at

As an example of how wide-spread Lara’s music is, there is a nice rendition of ‘Adagio’ by the heavy metal singer Floor Jansen, at
metal-rock-punk-news.blogspot.com/2021/01/floor-jansen-adagio-lara-fabian-cover.html
[It is not a heavy metal version ].
Lara’s coming interactions with the public may depend on what is happening with the new TF1 show, and what her responsibilities are in that respect [unless she really is the ‘Carnivorous Plant’ ]. Otherwise they may be limited to charitable or topical issues, as in recent weeks.
