Lara’s concerts start in under 10 days, and some promotions have started. Lara included a 'reel' advertising the shows, with portions of performances from the earlier Quebec shows, at
and
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/videos/1300034354100364
Her accompanying text read, “Sharing some BEST OF tour footage captured at Canadian shows. See you in Belgium, France and Switzerland from 29 September in Charleroi... For this reunion, we'll share together these songs that have tied us together for 30 years now... Looking forward to finding you again 🤍🎵💋”
She notes that “all the dates of the tour" are available at decibelsprod.com/dates/artiste/lara-fabian/. However, when going there one notes that the Eastern European concerts are not included; perhaps decibelsprod is not producing those, and thus they are not really part of “the tour”. Outside of promotional differences, it’s a distinction without much meaning, given that it’s likely the setlist, musicians, etc. will be the same, and the eastern European portion picks up right after the shows in French-speaking western Europe.
To that end, Lara also included, in her Instagram stories post, the information that she has now added a new stop, in Moldova, on October 26th, as seen on the post from the Lara Fabian est ton autre FB site, at

Also underway is promotion for Lara’s book, now named "Tout" for the European market. The Lara Fabian est ton autre FB site posted the advertisement for the book, and it’s impressive; it can be seen at

One can also note how they took the easiest path in modifying the book cover to change the title…The book can be pre-ordered now, and will be available in Europe on Sept. 22nd.
Otherwise, with Lara’s absence for most of the summer, fans have had to fill the void. As some of you probably know, there are many videos of Lara on TikTok, e.g., at
www.tiktok.com/search?q=Lara%20Fabian
There are some that are not also on youtube, especially when opinions are being offered on Lara’s performance of a particular song.
In the same spirit, there are many ‘Lara’ items for sale on ebay, at
www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Lara%20Fabian%20Lara%20Fabian
Hard-to-find items occasionally pop up, although her original self-titled album from Sony/Columbia, or songs from it, make up the biggest offering.
And further along those lines, Lara’s presence on iTunes around the world has gradually fallen off over the summer, but there have always been some countries in which that self-titled album shows up on the list. In this case, (https://kworb.net/itunes/artist/larafabian.html), at the time of this writing, it is Uzbekistan (#29) and Moldova (#43). New to the list is Camouflage (#15 in Yemen). No great surprise that these are English language albums.
Concerning videos of her French songs, Daily Motion has numerous ones (along with her English language songs), at
www.dailymotion.com/search/Lara%20Fabian/videos
Many of these do duplicate what one finds on youtube, though there are fewer ‘reaction’ videos.
With respect to the movie ‘Arlette’: despite previous indications, it was still playing in some theaters in Quebec this past week, but that ends on Friday. However, as noted in an article at (https://actualnewsmagazine.com/english/the-film-arlette-selected-at-namur/), it will continue its journey:
----------------------------
The film Arlette selected at Namur
After being presented in official competition at the Angoulême Francophone Film Festival last August, Arlette continues its journey in European events.
Mariloup Wolfe’s film was selected at the International Francophone Film Festival of Namur. It will be presented there next on October 1st.
Released on August 5 in Quebec, Arlette notably stars Maripier Morin, Gilbert Sicotte, David La Haye, Paul Ahmarani and Benoît Brière.
In the province, the feature film which tells the rise of a fashion magazine director to the post of Minister of Culture has accumulated nearly $650,000 at the box office.
Quebec feature films Arsenault & sons and Viking as well as films co-produced by France and Quebec The Origin of Evil and Storm will also be presented in Belgium.
The International Francophone Film Festival of Namur is held from September 30 to October 7.
-------------------------------
Unfortunately, Lara will not be giving a concert in Namur (Belgium), so no ‘cross-promotion’ will occur. Overall, the film received a rating of 5.8 out of 10 on IMDb. ‘Rotten Tomatoes’, which focuses on U.S. films, never acknowledged it ever opened. Despite the lack of critical support, the earnings of Arlette provided in the article were fairly impressive; in comparison, at the end of August, the leading ‘summer’ movie income in Quebec was ‘Confessions’, which earned just $1.2 million (https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2022/08/21/les-tops-et-les-flops-de-lete). With much less promotion, Arlette has earned half that amount.
Interesting photo(s)/video(s) of the week: Lara Fabian Fan Espania continues its incredible posting of Lara videos, around 25 in the past week (which is actually considerably less than in the previous weeks). The site only has 266 subscribers, which is an injustice given all the work they have been doing (maybe it’s because of their Spanish heritage). In particular, they recently posted the ‘Making of Mademoiselle Zhivago’ video, at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=aY8aW024eTk
It includes some scenes and the overall perspective provided by Lara not included in the released version. As she explains, the woman, Lara, is being reincarnated through all these time periods, and gaining experience and knowledge as the lives progress. This was to tie the different scenes together, and make it a real movie rather than a succession of music videos. Clearly the ‘Making of’ was itself made when Lara was still on board with the movie.
As you may have noticed, a number of Lara fan sites have been inactive during the summer while Lara was away. It will be interesting to see if they revive when her personal appearances begin again. One site that certainly hasn’t taken the summer off is the Lara Fabian America site; an invigorating picture they posted of Lara can be seen at
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=475558281250569&set=a.427157889423942
with their comment “Have an awesome day!” We second that emotion!
By the next news update, Lara’s concerts will be just a few days away. We’ll see if her public hiatus will be over by then. Stay healthy everybody,
David
