The last (unofficial) week of summer has now ended, with a whimper not a bang for Lara publicly, as she did not honor it with any new personal posts. Nevertheless, it was consequential in that Lara’s autobiographical ‘cookbook’, became available in Europe for ordering; it will be physically available on Sept. 23. As noted by the Lara Fabian est ton autre FB site, it has undergone a name change – it’s now called “Tout”, shown by the picture below
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=613860870108718&set=pcb.613860920108713
One wonders about the etymology of the change; the Publisher is listed as “Libre Expression” for a book of 208 pages, the same as the Quebec release. Perhaps they felt that ‘Je passe a table’ was too subtle for the European audience (even though, according to Lara, it is a European expression), and that the French audience might remember that ‘Tout’ was the record that opened up Lara’s career in France, and her biggest selling single there (even though, ironically, Lara now distains it). 'Tout' (all) is not even the 'full' truth, since as Lara said many times, it doesn’t tell the whole story of her life – a lot has been left out, so much so that she has even entertained the idea of a second volume. Anyway, it can be ordered from:

It will be very interesting to see how it does both commercially and via the critics. Its appearance will coincide with the French/Belgian tour, so it will potentially be getting plenty of publicity. Those who do buy it will not be disappointed – well written and extremely honest, with useful recipes, it does credit to her as a well-rounded human being who has gone through some harrowing experiences, and is willing to talk about them.
In other news, still with a European flair, there’s an article about Patrick Fiori and his relationship with Lara, at (https://www.purepeople.com/article/patrick-fiori-son-couple-avec-lara-fabian-il-a-tout-de-suite-craque-pour-elle-il-raconte_a496612/1); here’s the translation:
------------------------------
Patrick Fiori, who had been a couple with Lara Fabian: he immediately fell for her, he says
Juror on the show The Voice Kids (TF1), Patrick Fiori experienced great love when he met Lara Fabian in Rick Allison's studio in Canada. Conquered at first sight, the singer had already fallen madly in love with the singer just by listening to her voice…
Shortly after participating in the casting of Notre-Dame-de-Paris in 1997 to interpret the role of Phoebus, Patrick Fiori went to the studios of Rick Allison, in Montreal, to record his album Prends-moi. In the corridors, he meets a sublime young woman who has just recorded her third album, Pure (certified platinum disc in Quebec): Lara Fabian. Hypnotized by her look and her presence, the interpreter of the title Belle is captivated by her beauty and has just experienced a real thunderbolt. Interviewed by Gala, he also explained that he had fallen "in love .... crazy” with her when they met in 1998.
A real princess
Sincere and touching, he also revealed that he was already very admiring of the singer even before knowing her. "When she released her album. I was in my car in Ajaccio and I heard “Tout”. I said to myself: 'What a voice she has, this girl!'. When I saw her on television, I I fell in love. We met later, while I was working in Canada with her producer, Rick, for my album…. A real princess. I already loved her!” he explained.
Same story on the side of Lara Fabian. Sure of her feelings and convinced of having found her soul mate, she confided: "I have always dreamed of meeting someone whom I could say is the man of my life. It's done: I am sure to have found a father for my future child. I am a woman before being a mother, but my heart already vibrates thinking of all this".
Unfortunately and when nothing could have predicted it, the couple separated in 2000. Discreet (and very elegant), they have never revealed the reasons for their separation. According to the magazine Gala, however, the over-mediatization of their relationship would have been significant in their history.
Subsequently, Patrick Fiori married Ariane Quatrefages (3rd runner-up in the Miss France 2000 election) in 2008 and became the father of two boys. For her part, Lara Fabian has been married to Gabriel di Giorgio since 2013 and had a daughter Lou born in 2007 (the fruit of her love with Gérard Pullicino from whom she separated in 2012).
--------------------------------
So “Tout” played a role in this as well! [Perhaps another reason for Lara to be wary of it… ]
As we’ve seen off and on for the past few months, Lara’s name has come up as a possible candidate for the new season of the Star Academie in France. There have even big rumors that she has been offered a “big check”. However, as we’ve noted, their schedule does not match hers, as her concert tour would seem to make it impossible to fulfill two full time jobs at the same time. Now, according to reports, a new director has been named, and it is not Lara; here’s the article (https://www.lejsl.com/societe/2022/08/30/le-fils-de-jean-jacques-goldman-nouveau-directeur-de-la-star-ac):
--------------------------------------
The son of Jean-Jacques Goldman, new director of Star Ac'
After Alexia Laroche-Joubert and Gérard Louvin, it is Michael Goldman, the son of Jean-Jacques Goldman, who will be the next director of Star Ac', according to ''Le Parisien''.
After Alexia Laroche-Joubert and Gérard Louvin, it is Michael Goldman, the son of Jean-Jacques Goldman, who will be the next director of Star Ac' according to Le Parisien. A name that we did not necessarily expect, the names of Lara Fabian and Jenifer, winner of the first season, circulating quite actively lately.
Passionate about music, Michael Goldman, 43, is relatively unknown to the general public. Co-author of the lyrics of the song ''Petite sœur'' by Lââm or ''Fais passer le mot'' by Judith, he is one of the co-founders of My Major Company, an independent and community label offering participatory production of new artists by Internet users, with a return on investment, which led to the discovery of Grégoire (''Toi+moi'') in 2008 or Joyce Jonathan (''Je ne sais pas'') in 2010. He is also the founder of the Tippee site, launched in 2013, which consists of providing crowdfunding for creative projects, this time without return on investment.
-------------------------------
The seemingly ‘impossible to navigate’ schedule conflicts aside, Lara likely would have found it hard to reproduce the favorable circumstances she had in Quebec, given the nature of the culture in France as compared with that in Quebec, both in terms of public acceptance of her and the nature of the students. In any event, we’ll probably never know…
A few more comments about the film “Arlette”:
(1) Although many of the film information sites that one generally peruses to see the cast of movies do not include Lara’s name (e.g., www.filmaffinity.com/uk/film145920.html lists 13 actors, but not Lara), she is included in the IMDb site of all cast members as “the Minister of Commerce”. Otherwise, it seemed as if the producers wanted to keep Lara a secret, to surprise audiences (which may still be the case).
(2) And for those who despair of ever seeing it outside of Quebec, the following in formation is available from (https://www.dvdsreleases.com/movie/arlette-dvd-release-date/):
----------------------
“Arlette! DVD release date is set for November 14, 2022, with Blu-ray available the same day as the DVD release. DVD releases are typically released around 12-16 weeks after the theatrical premiere (which was August 5).
When will Arlette! be released digitally? Arlette! digital release from Amazon Video and iTunes should be available 1-2 weeks before the Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K releases. The estimated VOD release date is November 2022.”
----------------------------
(3) Note further that after passing the $500,000 mark in sales, the movie is still playing in a number of theaters in Quebec (see www.tribute.ca/showtimes/movie/all/arlette-vof/163710/). [it was rumored that it would close this past week].
Interesting picture(s)/video(s) of the week:
Lara The Ring Fabian posted a youtube video of Lara emphasizing the importance of honing one’s singing technique, at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ie3CGxIwdw
As usual, thanks to her it has English subtitles.
The Lara Fabian Espana site posted a wonderful video of Lara discussing the making of the song “Remember Me" which Lara sung for the movie 'Cello', about the disease ALS. It too comes with English subtitles. If one wants to hear the song in conjunction with the movie images, it can be found at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiTFBE-HM14
And in honor of their relationship, which lasted from 1998-2000, the ‘famous’ video of Lara and Patrick Fiori singing L’hymne a l’amour (and then acting it out),

We’ll see whether Lara returns from her vacation in the coming week, with the need for rehearsals looming. Otherwise, stay safe everybody,
