The last week in August is upon us, and Lara greeted it with pretty (and commercial) pictures on her Instagram site, at
with the caption:

“It is the Beauty minute 😝💛 Under the Sicilian sun, and everywhere else I expose myself, I preserve my skin by protecting it from UVA/UVB...
Thank you @institut_esthederm for accompanying me every day in this summer beauty routine ☀️💋
I hope you are equally vigilant in protecting your skin well.
In the meantime, I wish you a nice end of August...
Before finally finding you again on the road 🎤🎵🎶🤍 - -

The products shown obviously come from Institut_esthederm France, and, as indicated on their Instagram site, www.instagram.com/institut_esthederm/ the three products represent:
“🧡 PREPARE your skin for the sun with our Bronze Impulse Serum Mist ☀️ PROTECT your body with our Adaptasun Body Protecting Milk. 💙 PROLONG your tan with our tan extending milk.” [Information probably more useful at the beginning of the summer than at the end. ]
In other news, concerning the film Arlette, the following info appeared on the Instagram site of the director, Mariloupe Wolf (

“GOOD NEWS !
Today, the film ARLETTE reached $519,353 at the Quebec box-office and is still showing on 67 cinema screens. 💥 The film will also be presented in official competition at the 15th Festival of the Francophone Film Festival of Angouleme, which will be held in France from 23 to 28 August 2022. Lara’s picture from the film appears at

In a follow-up article [close to off-topic since Lara isn’t mentioned] at (https://hollywoodpq.com/maripier-morin-et-mariloup-wolfe-seclatent-en-france-pour-arlette/), there’s this:

Maripier Morin and Mariloup Wolfe have fun in France for "Arlette"
Maripier Morin and Mariloup Wolfe presented themselves at the Angoulême International Francophone Film Festival, on the side of France, since the film Arlette was presented there!
In her Instagram stories , Maripier Morin clarified that she was jetlagged as f*ck following this long crossing to France!
You can also see Mariloup Wolfe, who directed the film, in one of Maripier Morin's stories .
Let's say that the two women seem to have had a lot of fun!
The Last Moments of the Story presents the two Quebec stars on the red carpet of the event, where Maripier shares her feelings for her director.
“So happy to travel with this film and especially this exceptional director (and human)!”, she says.
Remember that Arlette has just exceeded $500,000 at the box office!
----------------------------
And there are accompanying pictures of the two women, to fill out these comments. More pictures of them can be found at (https://www.mondedestars.com/critiques/maripier-morin-et-mariloup-wolfe-continuent-de-briller-en-voyage-en-france), where is was announced that the film has been nominated for six prestigious awards at the festival. According to the site (https://akhbar24news.com/angouleme-francophone-film-festival-the-sixth-child-about-the-desire-for-motherhood-wins-four-awards/), it doesn’t appear that it won any. Note that Maripier Morin does not carry the ‘baggage’ in France that she has in Quebec…
For those who are interested in this festival, and for many more pictures, they can be found at the FB site for it, www.facebook.com/ffangouleme/.
Any positive publicity for the film in France can only help Lara in her upcoming tour, though most of those thinking of attending will probably not have seen it (or even be aware that Lara is in it); 52,000 people attended the festival. So far there’s no indication it will be released in French theaters. Also relevant for prospective concert goers, Arlette will in addition be entered in the 37th Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur, Belgium which takes place from September 30 to October 7th.
Going from the big to the small screen, Star Academie is once again on the short list for Le Prix Gémeaux du Public. According to their FB site, “you have until September 5th to enter the 3 productions that marked you the most this year on prixdupublicfondscogeco.ca
Starting September 12, come back to the site and vote once a day among the 20 shows with the most votes! Results will be presented on ICI TV on Sept. 18th.
Online voting is open to everyone without geographical restrictions.”
A video promoting this prize, and voting, can be found at

As one of the most watched shows on Quebec airwaves, Star Academie would seem to have a good chance of winning – though it didn’t last year. It would be a nice feather in Lara’s cap, especially given that she may never be the director of it again.
Interesting picture(s)/video(s) of the week: from the Lara Fabian est ton autre site, some pictures and extracts of Lara in the film Arlette, at
And, always welcome, three beautiful pictures of Lara from the Lara Fabian the Netherlands FB site,

Normally, in France, once “la rentrée” occurs in September, activity picks up; whether that will be true of Lara this time depends on when her vacation with her father and daughter actually comes to an end. Factor in her need for rehearsals for her tour, whose initial concert will take place in one month, one would expect her return sooner rather than later. While Lara has been largely personally absent for her fans, outside of an occasional Instagram post for the last few months, that is not the case on youtube – there are so many videos of Lara each week, both reaction videos and historical ones, that one can hardly count them. Youtube has been a great boon for her world-wide name recognition and appreciation. And although Lara doesn’t make use of her Twitter site, doing a search for Lara on Twitter often reveals a number of interesting things, including radio stations that play a wide variety of Lara’s songs (much wider variety than she includes in her concerts).
All to the good – it shows high quality will ultimately emerge, given the opportunity. Stay safe everybody,
David
