Lara emerged from her vacation this past week and, in effect, signaled a willingness to continue interacting with fans during it, by placing the following pictures on her Instagram site
with the caption,
“I wanted to share with you a gourmet discovery ...
Vegan and Gluten Free Cheescake to console a widow from the night before ..... Francesca Lombardo of @cinniri_cunzata is a pastry chef of exception❤️💋
Grazie cara Francesca sei magica [Thank you dear Francesa, you are magical].”
You can find pictures of her other mouthwatering desserts at www.instagram.com/cinniri_cunzata/
On the other end of the spectrum, she also responded to a sad event, the passing of Daniel Levi. she wrote on her Instagram account, “What immense sadness...
I will remember your rare generosity and your voice so unique and unforgettable… thank you for these shared moments of music… Rest in peace my dear @daniellevi_officiel 🖤🕊”
Along with that, she posted a link of her appearance with him and Roch Voisine on ‘Les Enfoires’ in 2001, at
A high quality version of that video is available at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uiiW7GDhPo&ab_channel=LaraFabianMultimedia
Another interaction between Daniel Levi and Lara occurred on the show dedicated to Lara, “Dans l’universe de Lara Fabian” in 2010. On it, Daniel Levi came to sing ‘Je suis malade’ for Lara, to her great delight, as can be seen at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqbE6iLWYvM&ab_channel=TiJospin
Undoubtedly there were many other times they were together over the course of their long careers.
A discussion of Daniel Levi’s life and career, and the mention of his death at the age of 60 from colon cancer, can be found at
www.sportskeeda.com/pop-culture/who-daniel-levi-tributes-pour-french-singer-passes-away-60
Another sad note, though one of a different sort – it appears the FB site for 'Lara Fabian web' appears to have closed (which is the assumption now that it has “become unavailable”). For many years this was one of the premiere fan sites for Lara, involved in making available numerous videos and interviews, and setting up fan participation events for her at various concerts. Their URL, www.larafabianweb.com contained all sorts of treasures, which they made available to fans. Laetitia was the driving force behind it, and it was going strong up until the pandemic – then, for whatever reason, it increasingly became a shadow of its former self, and now appears to be gone. Much thanks for all they did during these years – you will be greatly missed. [Their twitter site, twitter.com/laetitialfw, is still visible but it hasn’t been used in years, and the URL closed some time ago].
On a more positive note, we had heard that Lara was going to play a role in a new film, and now there’s an article about it, a movie called 'Arlette' (https://showbizz.net/cinema/une-scene-sensuelle-avec-lara-fabian-dans-arlette-lactrice-et-la-realisatrice-nous-en-parle?fbclid=IwAR1zhHDe13myD5Ci5YnFBeYccFzn5F5m0wzuWQ-PYkK97WjJf7OHj1m63KU) [thanks to the Lara Fabian Coeur de Lumiere FB site for the ink]:

A sensual scene with Lara Fabian in Arlette : the actress and the director tell us about it
“She was so game!”
By Elizabeth Lepage-Boily
SATURDAY, AUGUST 6, 2022 9:00 A.M. • CLASSIFIED ARLETTE
Lara Fabian plays a French minister in Mariloup Wolfe's most recent film, Arlette .
The character had to be male initially. “ We were looking for the French minister. We even approached super-known French actors [like Omar Sy, Jean Dujardin], but it was not easy in times of COVID,” says the director.
It was actress Maripier Morin who had the idea of disguising the role."At one point, it was while speaking with my agent, who is also my stylist, who works with Lara on Star Académie, that we said: 'what if we offered it to Lara'?! There, I called Mariloup and said: "I have an idea; bear with me". I told her that it was really out there and that she had to listen to my pitch.”
WARNING! HERE WE REVEAL A SURPRISING SCENE FROM THE ARLETTE FILM . IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SPOIL THE SURPRISE, WE SUGGEST YOU STOP READING HERE.
You must first know that there is a love scene between the character of Maripier Morin and that of Lara Fabian. The two women find themselves naked in a bed.
Here is the famous pitch that Maripier Morin made to Mariloup Wolfe. "There's all the rivalry with the Minister of Finance, the scene before with his wife where she tells him that she must be the Minister of Living Arts and that she must have sex to recharge her batteries. There, you create a kind of quartet of dangerous liaisons of who is going to sleep with whom. I thought that brought a whole other dimension because you see that the Minister of Finance is not indifferent to the charm of the French minister. You don't see it happening. Whereas if you put on Jean Dujardin, you quickly understand that she [Arlette] is going to sleep with the French minister.”
The actress recounts her experience with Lara Fabian. “She was so game! Me, I arrived in the morning all stressed. I put on my little nipple covers. I was freaking out. Lara arrived, all relaxed with nothing. There, I took everything off because I thought it was silly to want to hide. [...] It made me feel good to shoot that scene with Lara. I found her game, I found her beautiful. It was very poetic. It's one of my favorite scenes in the movie, even though you can see my ass.”
Maripier Morin says that this scene made a few people in the room blush at the premiere in Montreal. “My father is sitting in front of me and Mariloup is sitting behind me with her children!! And then her kids are like, "Mommy! What's that! Ark! And my dad turning around and saying, 'Me neither, I don't want to see that either!' Then I was like, "ah, my god, can you stop it!"
We strongly encourage you to go see Arlette at the cinema. This magnificent scene, shot with great respect and elegance, is worth the $15 on its own.
The protagonist's lavish outfits are also a good reason to move around the dark rooms. Maripier Morin tells us about the looks here.
During our interview, we also discussed with Maripier Morin her recent visit to Sucré salé . Read it all here.

The movie officially opened a few days ago (August 5th), and there are no reviews listed yet on ‘Rotten Tomatoes’ (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/arlette_2022) (which doesn’t know it’s already been released). Their brief description is “Against all odds, a fashion magazine director is appointed Minister of Culture. Despite becoming the butt of ridicule, she strives to find her place in the political world.”
Note – the ‘cast and crew’ listed on that site, obviously incomplete, does not include Lara. The same is true for imdb (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14157348/). In both cases this is somewhat odd – one would have thought that advertising Lara’s involvement would be a selling point for the movie’s promoters (who provide this information to these sites). However, maybe it is meant to surprise viewers as the following indicates…
On imdb there are so far several reviews; focusing on Lara’s involvement, the review from Cinoche.com reads, “A bed scene between the protagonist and a well-known personality is hidden in the middle of the feature film. This sequence, even if it is visually delightful, seems placed there to make people talk... or to destabilize moviegoers. At least, if the goal was to surprise us, it succeeded!”
The promo for the film, which is available at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=igu-k3VaZUs
shows Lara starting at the 1:49 mark
Associated with it is a more complete description: “Approached by the Prime Minister of Quebec to rejuvenate the image of his government, Arlette Saint-Amour, director of a fashion magazine, becomes Minister of Culture overnight. She succeeded in creating a real buzz around Culture with her look and her audacity. Bold, she does not hesitate to confront the most powerful of them all: the Minister of Finance. Their files are battles to be fought, but their confrontation is a real war to be finished because, at the end of the day, this film revolves around a great theme: the power of the image. Arlette, a comedy of appearances that takes us behind the scenes of the National Assembly, where the zany meets the serious, where comedy embraces the dramatic.”
Lara has always enjoyed the concept of being an actor, and she’s mature enough not to be shaken by being a little risqué. On the other hand…her being ‘so game’ was what got her into trouble with the 'Mademoiselle Zhivago' film!
[We can’t leave this topic without mentioning the controversy associated with the lead actress Maripier Morin, though this is definitely ‘off-topic’. From Wikipedia:
“On July 7, 2020, Safia Nolin accused Morin of having sexually assaulted and verbally harassed her one night at a bar in 2018. Nolin alleged that Morin touched her, bit her thigh and made sexually explicit and racist statements. Morin apologized but did not respond to the specific allegation that she had made racist statements. Nolin, however, did not file a complaint, despite having a photograph of the bite marks on her thigh. BonLook, Blush and Buick announced that they would cut ties with Morin. Morin announced that she would put her career on pause. A number of videos featuring Morin were removed from television networks' websites.
In May 2021, Morin made her first media appearance since the allegations on 'Tout le monde en parle'. She publicly apologized to five victims for physical aggression, unsolicited groping and racist comments made between 2017 and 2020. Morin said she had gone through a three-month rehabilitation program for her alcohol dependency. In December 2021, Morin publicly admitted being addicted to cocaine on the first episode of the podcast 'Un espresso avec Angelo'. At the time of her announcement, she said that she had abstained from using cocaine for one year and four months.”]
Unfortunately, this is a lens through which this film will be viewed…on the positive side, the controversy concerning her ‘return’ may draw more eyes to the project!
