The last of Lara’s Quebec concerts took place just after the previous News Update, and so it qualifies as the big news of the week. The setlist (posted in an article below) was the same as for the previous two (which means none of the ‘newer’ songs). And once again, videos are available at
www.youtube.com/channel/UCrU8ynwJtIdQ_jVg3ZN9kRA/videos
from Lara the Ring Fabian, this time from a less advantageous position. She even put together the full live show for this event as well (with English subtitles), at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=O25K30pGLBk
Once again, thanks to her for those herculean efforts to record these shows.
This show had several particular highlights. The most notable was Lara’s inviting many of the Star Academie students to come on stage with her to sing Saisir le jour and Humana. In addition to the record of it in the videos listed above, other videos of it can be found at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxTHx5FxtG8 for Saisir le jour
and
www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkNY_WuMcSM for Humana
Lara also brought Audrey Louise back to once again sing with her on ‘Pas sans toi’ and Félix Lemelin joined her on ‘Tu t’en vas’.
At the end, Lara celebrated with an Instagram post at
and the caption, “@centrevideotron ,last night, .... it was a unique moment ....
Nearly 9000 people connected heart to heart, and standing up ....
I am deeply grateful for this evening...
Thank you with all my being to each and every one of you ...”
[Lara even put that post on her FB site, the first entry there in two months…]
The fact that she got that large a turnout in Quebec City indicates that her fame has indeed spread throughout much of the province. And the responses from the audiences and the press will only further enhance it.
An article about the event can be found at (https://www.journaldequebec.com/2022/06/21/une-classe-de-maitre). Here’s the translation:

Lara Fabian at the Videotron Center: a master class
By Ashley Cornell, email: ashley.cornell@spamchronicles.com / June 22, 2022
Lara Fabian has spent the last few years advising young artists on La Voix and Star Academy on TV. On Tuesday night, on the stage at the Videotron Center, she put her own teachings into practice during a remarkable master class.
It is not for nothing that she is one of the great voices of Francophonie. In front of a receptive and admiring audience – the ovations and “We love you Lara” were given without restraint – Lara Fabian showed that the power and control of her vocal cords is unparalleled.
In a cozy atmosphere and accompanied by only one pianist, she offered a grandiose interpretation of ‘Je n’arrêterai pas de t’aimer’ right from the start.
The audience was already won over and the Belgian-Quebec star didn’t want to stop there. A few moments later, the double formed from J’y crois encore and Si tu m’aimes took her concert to a higher level.
Her reprise of Je suis malade, of rare intensity, caused shivers in the stands. And another ovation.
Expected reunion
Postponed twice because of the pandemic, this reunion with the Quebec public was evidently eagerly awaited. More than 7,500 people attended the event, much more than the 6,400 people announced during her previous visit to the Videotron Center in October 2018.
Instead, her admirers were only served hits in a sober but tasteful production. These have been selected from her extensive repertoire, with a particular focus on his 1990s albums Carpe Diem and Pure.
Lara Fabian had also invited academics Félix Lemelin, who provided during the first part, and Audrey-Louise Beauséjour. Everyone was entitled to their duet with whoever was their mentor.
The former kept the tone well at Tu t’en vas, while the latter, whose expulsion from the Star Académie had caused controversy this winter, was able to console herself with an ovation after singing Pas sans toi.
No to censorship
During the evening, repeating her successes was an opportunity for Lara Fabian to retread the thread of her personal story, but also to go there with a subtle connection to the latest news as she presented La difference, a success that caused trouble in Russia for its call for tolerance towards the gay community.
“Every time I am banned from singing this song, and I swear it will happen, I will remember the power of music and know that love will always triumph over violence and censorship,” she said.
She also had kind words for her late compatriot Maurane, to whom she paid tribute by singing her duet Tu es mon autre.
Before saying goodbye by delivering the essential Je t’aime, the star allowed herself one final gift to her students as a dozen academics joined her in vocal support for a dynamic Saisir le jour.
Big and generous voice. Who could ask for more?

Lara Fabian shines brightly during her visit to the Videotron Center
Her little hearts accompanied her on stage.
As part of her tour, Lara Fabian stopped at the Videotron Center in Quebec this Tuesday.
If she begins her show gently with "Je m'arrêterai pas de t'aimer " in a sober thread of light, she quickly inhabits the stage in lush lighting. Her "Alléluia", taken from the album Pure, will soon have the crowd excited, under the spell of the diva even before she has spoken her first words.
Throughout the evening, Lara Fabian will play ballads and more rhythmic pop anthems like "I Will Love Again". Moreover, she indicates in relation to this piece in English: “Even today, people say to me: 'Huh? Are you the one who sings that?' Yes Madam! And I dance too!". Her humor and frank candor make her a highly sympathetic and endearing character. Moreover, during the performance, she will be alerted by unexpected cheers from the crowd and will try to understand what is happening, even wondering if her dress is not stuck in her panties, before realizing that it was a little girl who wanted to give her flowers. "Damn I'm blonde sometimes!"
Some other moments will have been particularly striking, including this interpretation of "Pas sans toi" with the sparkling Audrey-Louise of Star Académie. Note that several other of her little hearts (Julien, Éloi, Sarah-Maude, Édouard, Camélia, Marily, Jérémy and Olivier) also participated in the show. They were invited to sing two pieces with their director, “Saisir le jour” and “Humana”. A very festive moment, invigorating even!
Impossible not to have chills when Lara Fabian sings “Je suis malade”, whatever the circumstances. Unsurprisingly, in show, the result is increased tenfold. Her voice is transcendent, hypnotizing. The public hung on her lips. There was no noise in the Videotron Center when she pushed the note, a cappella please. Her inhabited and captivating way of interpreting "Caruso" also greatly appealed to fans.
Lara Fabian has reserved her biggest hit for the encore. It was only at the very end that the spectators could finally hear “Je t’aime". Then, she concluded the performance with "Je me souviens", taken from her album 9, released in 2005.
Generous, bright, impetuous, the director of the academy lived up to expectations, even above.
Here is the list of songs performed by Lara Fabian at the Videotron Center this Tuesday, June 21:
Je m'arrêterai pas de t'aimer
Alleluia
Medley canadien
Tu t'en vas (with Félix Lemelin)
J'y crois encore

And finally there was this article (https://www.lesoleil.com/2022/06/22/le-meilleur-de-lara-fabian--une-voix-sans-faille-du-debut-a-la-fin-a3d9a0c94712d84b1b9314f5243304c9):

The best of Lara Fabian : Flawless voice from start to finish
Lea Harvey
CRITICISM / Lara Fabian's appearances on Quebec television failed to calm the ardor of her admirers who were impatiently awaiting her return to Quebec theaters. After a stop of three evenings in Montreal and one in Trois-Rivières, the famous singer concluded her Quebec tour at the Videotron Center on Tuesday, where she seduced the public who no longer counted their ovations.
Cries and applause were already heard even before the artist's arrival on stage... and our eardrums had better watch out when the spectators finally saw her land on the tunes of Je m’arrêterai pas de t’aimer.
Accompanied by three singers, The Riverin sisters, Lara Fabian immediately began her show with her powerful and controlled voice that we know her. She pushed assured and solid notes throughout the evening. Infallible.
A performance that earned her an ovation from the sixth song as well as two bouquets of flowers and a stuffed animal delivered by hand by young admirers.
We can affirm it: Lara Fabian knew how to charm her crowd, and this, from the first moments.
While the “We love you Lara!” flashed several times, the spectators offered the magic effect of the small lights of their telephone on the notes of La difference, one of her songs against homophobia. One of the particularly touching moments of the evening.
“Each time I am forbidden to sing it, […] I will be certain that love always wins against violence and censorship,” said the one who is due to begin her international tour in the fall, “50 World Tours”.
Well surrounded
With this new tour, postponed since the start of the pandemic, Lara Fabian wanted to celebrate her 50th birthday with her audience.
However, in Quebec, the hats of coach at La Voix and director of the 6th season of Star Académie are definitely never far from that of singer. These projects, which she wanted to testify on stage, highlighted her role as a "pedagogue", she says, happy to have spent her last five years in Quebec.
Lara Fabian therefore offered a duet with Audrey-Louise Beauséjour on the song Pas sans toi. And presto: a second ovation!
Earlier in the evening, the singer had also welcomed on stage Félix Lemelin, with whom she realized Tu t'en vas . She was full of praise for him, presenting him among other things as “one of the greatest artists she has met”.
The young artist from Quebec, whom Lara Fabian welcomed into her team at La Voix, in 2018, produced in the first part of the show. At ease on stage and visibly very grateful to have been able to follow the famous singer during her five performances in Quebec, he interpreted a few songs from his very first album, Seul à la fin, including his single “I'm done anyway”.
At the very end of the evening, Lara Fabian also surrounded herself, for two songs, with nine academicians from the 2022 cohort. The crowd instantly jumped up to dance to Saisir le jour, then Humana .
Returning to a few moments of her life and her career, the singer therefore interpreted, on Tuesday, her greatest hits, such as J’y crois encore, Si tu m’aimes, Caruso, I Will Love Again, Je t’aime. And of course on Je suis malade — which earned her a third standing ovation.
Before leaving for Europe and the United States, the one who has more than thirty years of career will indeed have given us a powerful performance... which will certainly satisfy her admirers until her return to the province.
------------------------------------
Despite a few errors, these articles capture what appear to have been the essence of all of Lara’s concerts in this province- amazingly good singing (some said she sang as well as she did 20 years ago), a highly receptive audience, and all the favorite songs her public and this province would have wanted. An unqualified success!
In other (though somewhat related) news, it was noted that many of Lara’s songs were from her ‘90s albums. Appropriately enough, the Lara Fabian est ton autre FB site discussed how Lara was one of the artists that characterized the ‘90s, on the program "La story des Années 90" on the Belgian channel Tipik – RTBF. They included the ~1 minute 20 second video of Lara from that time, at
www.facebook.com/larafabiantonautre/videos/808287353457459
“Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose”
And continuing Lara's connection to the program, the Star Academie is once again a finalist for the ‘Prix Gemeaux”, as can be seen at
www.facebook.com/productionsdeferlantes/photos/a.917911718262861/5236858603034796/
The Prix Gemeaux (Gemini Awards) present to the public and the industry what the members of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television have selected as the best broadcast on our television screens and in digital media. You may Star Academie was a big favorite last year and yet didn’t win, despite the powerful TVA backing. The general view is that this year’s show was probably not as good, but that doesn’t mean it would not once again be the most likely to receive the award. The winners will be announced on Sept. 18.
