Furthering the well-established pattern, Lara left pictures of her latest Star Academie outfit, from this past Sunday’s show, on her FB and Instagram accounts, at

Lara’s appearance on these programs may well be the best-dressed she’s ever been for public events, thanks undoubtedly to the professional team she’s working with, and her placing greater emphasis on it than ever before. Just one more thing TVA has done for her.
There were numerous Star Academie stories this past week, but we’ll start with a review of the latest show, as described in the Journal de Quebec (https://www.journaldequebec.com/2022/04/03/star-academie-eloi-reste-a-lacademie-1). [Again no videos are presented; the program presumably has cracked down on them]:

"Star Academy": Eloi stays at the Academy
Despite his absence on the Variety stage of "Star Academy", Sunday evening, Eloi Cumming was saved by public votes, before Sarah-Maude was protected by the teachers. This verdict closed a joyful, colorful Variety filled with great performances.
The Academicians had the chance to share the stage with the great Robert Charlebois, in great shape. They covered some of his most beautiful songs, such as Tendresse et amitié, Lindberg, Les ailes d’un ange, or some great hits such as J’t’aime comme un fou, Entr’deux joints and Le mur du son. The five Academicians followed one another in duet with Charlebois for their greatest happiness.
Put in danger
Sarah-Maude opened the endangerments with an impeccable performance on the song "Laisse-moi t'aimer" by Mike Brant. "It reminded me of the great voices of the 60s," said Gregory Charles, before giving it a score of 10/10.
It was live from the Waterloo Academy that Eloi Cummings had to sing to defend his place. He had also received a clothing kit from the stylists, as well as a make-up bag that he was able to use thanks to a tutorial. With his usual intensity, he magnificently interpreted "Double vie", by Richard Seguin. Marc Dupré first praised his performance in these circumstances.
“Eloi, my little cat," exclaimed Guylaine Tremblay. “You have an indefinable charm. Tonight, you proved that you are capable of putting your heart to work. Well done!”
For his fourth endangerment, Jérémy Plante wanted to have fun by choosing a song he knew well and with which he would have fun. Instead of “Allumer le feu”, the song initially selected, he interpreted “Somebody Like You”, by Keith Urban, accompanied by his guitar. He really set the stage on fire. “An artist, when he follows his instinct, it is difficult for him to be wrong,” explained Lara Fabian. “You delivered a great performance, congratulations Jérémy.”
Sensuality
To call for spring and warmth, the Academicians created a sensual Latin medley. Julien opened the number with “Besame Mucho”, before Camélia resumed “Havana”. We also heard “Tico Tico”, “Bamboleo”, “Suavemente”, but it was really Jérémy who stood out on “Despacito”. As a finale, Antoine Gratton, musical director of Variété, made a surprise appearance on “La Bamba”. He replaced at short notice the singer Mika, who was to participate in this number, but who had to cancel for medical reasons.
Displaced candidates
To mark the release of the album "Star Académie 2022", all the dislodged Academicians returned to the Variété stage to deliver some excerpts from their songs.
Mathieu Rheault first stood out with “Femme Like U”. Audrey-Louise Beauséjour delivered a magnificent excerpt from “De rêve en rêverie (Evergreen)”, while Édouard Lagacé was all emotional on “Fais-moi une place”. Yannick Bissonnette Powell was surprising with the piece “I still think of you”.
At the end of the issue, the Academicians received a plaque highlighting 25,000 copies sold of their album. Anne Vivien, Executive Vice President for Music at Quebecor, also announced that the two finalists of the season will be on tour, starting in March 2023.
Australian visit
Three years after giving his best ever show in Montreal, Dean Lewis is happy to come and share his music with the Academicians, whom he greatly appreciated. Édouard Lagacé had agreed to replace Olivier who was to sing "Be Alright" with the Australian star. Krystel sang “Hal a Man”, and Julien was able to provide vocals on “Hurtless”.
At the end of a very diverse gala in musical styles, the public chose to save Eloi Cummings. Live from the Academy, the young Madelinot could not believe it. “Thank you to the public”, he exclaimed. “It's really fun to receive encouragement from the public despite the circumstances.” Guylaine Tremblay, Gregory Charles and Lara Fabian then chose to protect Sarah-Maude Desgagné.
ADVICE FROM ROBERT CHARLEBOIS
In great shape, Robert Charlebois was delighted with the time he was able to spend with the academicians. “It rejuvenates me in a way”, he explained in an interview behind the scenes of the show. “Young people like the stuff I wrote when I was 25, and those who have always followed me have access to other genres of songs. But the real strength of my youth is precisely to be surrounded by young people. This is where the energy, the strength and the purity are.”
The singer would have had many things to tell the Academicians. “They don't know that when they get out of here, the real school begins. Even me, I still learn things by coming here. But they shouldn't think they already know something when they leave here, but it's going to be a wonderful tool if they know how to use it.
But if there is only one advice to remember, it is to know how to surround yourself well. Be careful of the people you meet, because all of life is based on encounters. At the same time, there is something that cannot be learned, it is charisma. You have it or you don't, but there's no school to learn it."
Live from the Academy
The Variety set remained connected with the manor of Waterloo where the two Academicians, Eloi and Olivier, were in isolation due to positive tests for Covid-19. Eloi gave his news at the start of the program. “It's going well”, he announced from the classroom set up for the occasion. “I have a little cough that came out of nowhere, but I feel ready for my performance.” Even though he was alone in the room, he later found the energy to deliver a very good performance.
Marc Dupré also spoke with Olivier, in isolation in a room at the Academy where he was watching Variety on television. In shape, he however explained that the fact of not being on the set reminded him how much he wanted to do this job in life and that he missed it.
--------------------------------------------
Two items of note were the return of COVID to the Academie, and the release of the Star Academie 2022 album with all 15 participants (and good to see them on the show). These items are covered further in the following stories, which also raise a few other points. First (https://showbizz.net/tele/jean-philippe-dion-et-le-public-commentent-les-nouveaux-cas-de-covid-a-lacademie):
--------------------------------
Jean-Philippe Dion and the public comment on the new cases of Covid at the academy
This weekend, we learned that Éloi had Covid. Then, this Sunday, we discovered that Olivier had also caught the virus.
Producer Jean-Philippe Dion congratulated his team on social networks: "Once again impressed by the @staracademietva team who rolled up their sleeves to ensure that Eloi could participate in the variety show while he has COVID. We will have seen all the colors!”
On Twitter, several people claim that this situation will encourage people to vote for Éloi tonight and that he will be saved by the public. They also have the impression that the teachers will save Sarah-Maude, thus forcing Jeremy out. To be continued! [NB: quite right!]
Some viewers mention that the crowd at Dix30 that the academicians recently experienced for the launch of their album is perhaps responsible for this new outbreak.
Internet users also take the opportunity to salute the great resilience of Éloi, reclusive for a few days in an uncrowded part of the academy. They also find that he delivered a more than respectable performance under the circumstances.
The public also congratulated in large numbers the other academicians who had to work twice as hard to make up for the absence of their colleagues.

There was this from Lara (https://showbizz.net/tele/lara-fabian-annonce-un-petit-changement-a-star-academie-dici-la-fin-de-la-saison):
----------------------------------------
Lara Fabian announces a small change to Star Académie through the end of the season
Her “scalpel” was very blunt this week.
During her post-mortem on Sunday evening, Lara Fabian announced that, from now on, everyone would be in evaluation, until the end of the Star Académie adventure.
Éloi will be back in the “general population” from Tuesday while Olivier will return next Thursday.
The two academicians will be able to do their evaluation service from their room. “We will do everything we can to make you as comfortable as possible," said the director.
Lara Fabian used her famous “scalpel” very little during her last post-mortem. She was more in “thanks” and “compliments” mode given the difficult circumstances that academics and production are going through at the moment.
Jérémy, in an interview with us, also told us about the commotion caused by this new wave of Covid at the academy. Read it all here (continued below):
-----------------------------------
(https://showbizz.net/tele/jeremy-revient-sur-son-changement-de-chanson-et-la-fin-abrupte-de-sa-preparation-avec-lara-fabian):
---------------------------
Jérémy talks about his change of song and the abrupt end of his preparation with Lara Fabian
“It was my choice anyway, they just strongly advised me to change the song.”
Jérémy was finally eliminated from the Star Académie adventure, after being saved a few times by the public.
To defend his place this Sunday, he performed the piece “Somebody Like You” by Keith Urban."I'm still proud of what I gave," he told us. “Note-wise, guitar-wise, I always have plenty of negative notes to give myself. But, all in all, I'm happy with the energy I gave. I wanted to show fun and that, I got it.”
Initially, it was not to be this piece that he interprets. “This Sunday, my goal was to show what I am capable of vocally, I wanted a song that requires a certain vocal technique. So, with the production and Gregory Charles, we had decided to do "Allumer le feu" by Johnny Hallyday, but listen, I arrived on Wednesday, and I started to feel the fatigue in my voice. Notes that normally are quite easy for me to achieve were really complicated. Even Lara told me: "I think you'll be able to do it by Sunday, but are you really sure that's what you want to do?". I talked about it again with the production and on Thursday I changed the song.”
His preparation ended rather abruptly with the director. "Basically, she realized that it was pointless to work, 'your voice is scrappy and it looks like it's stressing you out. You're used to having fun on an internship.' There, she just said to me: "Think about you. Relax. Think about your things properly. I trust you, that you are capable of giving us a great performance, but think about whether it's the right one, right tune for you. If that's what you want to do, we'll go all out, but..." Basically, there's no one who wanted to see me crash this Sunday. It was just goodwill.”
He adds: “We changed the song for something that I had already done, that I mastered and that I was going to have fun doing. It was my choice anyway, they just strongly advised me to change the song.”
The Covid has hit the academy again this week and Jérémy explains how the virus has affected the variety. "Everyone turned on a dime," he says. "Yesterday morning, when we learned that Olivier had Covid, we had a small meeting of academicians and we separated our parts. There was a part that was our job, but there was also the staging that had to decide whether we kept all the songs or not. Finally, we cut a few songs, several modifications in the medleys. It's also a bit like show business, everything can change at any time. Greg always told us, even if you have a part to learn in the song, learn the whole medleys because we are not immune to a last minute change. Me, I picked up the part at Éloi which was the opening of Robert Charlebois' number and, all in all, I think it went really well." Recall that the producer and the public commented on the situation on social networks. Read it all here [various comments included].
Obviously, Jeremy's adventure will have been marked by this "saga" at the start of the season, where his words shocked the fans. "The big part of this saga, I did not live it. I just got feedback from my friends who wrote to me like: "despite everything the world says, trust yourself". Then there's a friend who told me at one point that I had said some really bad things and that it would be time for me to fix it. I went digging and no one wanted to tell me what I said in production, that's how it is. Finally, I went to speak to Sandrine directly, we explained each other. We are two people who get along really well, it was just a surge of anger that came out at that time. I apologized. It is sure that I had a rather complicated week that week. It was not easy.”
Note that MIKA was to make an appearance this Sunday, but that he was replaced at the last minute by the musical director of Star Académie.

Finally, concerning the new Star Academie album (and perhaps how the Academicians got COVID) (https://www.journaldequebec.com/2022/03/30/star-academie-les-academiciens-rencontrent-leurs-admirateurs-1):
--------------------------------------------
"Star Academy": Academicians meet their admirers
More than 350 people gathered on Wednesday afternoon at Extasia Square in the Dix30 district of Brossard, where the Academicians had planned to meet their admirers.
The first hundred had the chance to receive the Star Académie 2022 album, as well as a copy of the special issue of 7 Jours magazine .
The dislodged Academicians arrived first on the small stage set up in the square, where a long line, made up of families, children of all ages and a group of friends, was waiting for them. Cries and applause rang out in the square, while joy, mixed with a certain amazement, could be read on the faces of certain singers.
"It's pretty special to see a lot of people waiting to see us," said Marily Dorion, before facing the crowd. “Signing autographs is also something that is not part of my daily life, just like seeing my face on a record cover.”
When the Star Académie bus arrived, the excitement escalated as the last seven Academicians joined the stage and the show's theme song played at full volume. All played the game by reaching out to the public who support them Sunday after Sunday.
"We don't necessarily realize how many people there are who support us and who love us," said Olivier Bergeron. “We are a little disconnected from the world at the Academy and it's weird to see the people who are there today. It's a big wave of love."
A disparate album
On the album, available in physical and on platforms, the fifteen Academicians recorded songs of all kinds of styles that have marked the history of French-speaking music. We find there as much Quebecois, like Jenny by Richard Desjardins, Le répondeur de Dédé fortin/Les Colocs, or Je pense encore à toi of Sylvain Cossette, or only French [France] songs like Jardin d’hiver of Henri Salvador, Fais-moi une place of Julien Clerc, or Mourir sur scène of Dalida.
For many Academicians, like Olivier Bergeron, this album is their first recording experience. Like another dream come true for the little guy from New Brunswick. “I never thought I could make it this far. From the end of Star Académie, it's my goal to make a solo album. I have about four or five songs already composed, this is just the beginning."
--------------------------------------
One of the lures of this album is that one can hear the best voices of this year’s crop of Academicians, a number of whom did not survive the popularity contest that is the show’s real competition. A complete listing of the songs on the album can be found at (https://fairground-circus.com/discover-the-songs-of-the-academicians-on-the-album-star-academie/), and brief excerpts of the songs can be found at (https://www.qub.ca/musique/album/star-academie-2022-cjf4mu4njjvka). For those living in Canada, the album, as well as a special ‘7 Jours’ edition devoted to the Star Academie, is available at jemagazine.ca. The songs in mp3 format can be ordered from amazon.com (https://www.amazon.com/Star-Acad%C3%A9mie-2022/dp/B09VX5CDY5). They are also available on Apple Music. And they are now available on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_m1JwEDp-FOPDAHDQKECheer6iJXcyWp68).
In other news, Lara put on her FB site a poster emphasizing her French tour this coming fall, at
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=556899812460983&set=a.259330805551220
She accompanied it with the statement, “What a joy to announce that we will soon be on the road again for the "Best Of" Tour
From September 29, 2022 in Charleroi ... I am so happy to come back to sing for you ..."
Although it’s called “The Best of World Tour”, Lara has said it will be quite similar to the “50 World Tour”, whose name is now inappropriate. Presumably, the publication of these dates, most if not all of which we have known for months (Lara particularly called out Charleroi as the first stop), is to encourage people to sign up for those shows, as many still have tickets available. People may well be somewhat ‘shy’ about doing so, given how many times they’ve been cancelled. And, as one can see from the recent uptick in COVID cases that has even affected the Star Academie, nothing really can be taken for granted concerning the concerts, some six months away. For those interested, tickets can be purchased through Lara’s URL, larafabian.com.
There was an article on Lara in Charts in France linked in a general sense to this tour (http://www.chartsinfrance.net/Lara-Fabian/news-120799.html) (thanks to the Lara Fabian est ton autre site for the link). While its information is from Canadian sources that we’ve already reviewed, it’s interesting to see what they thought was important to emphasize to the French public; here’s the translation:
-----------------------------------------
Lara Fabian confides in her new album: "I would like to talk about freedom"
A few months before her return to France for a best of tour, Lara Fabian is currently working on her new album. It will succeed "Papillon", released in October 2018. First info!
From "The Voice" to "Star Academie", there is only one step! While TF1 is preparing for the big comeback of the reality TV phenomenon which revealed Jenifer , Nolwenn Leroy or Grégory Lemarchal, with no doubt Nikos Aliagas at the presentation, Lara Fabian has gone from being coach to director by taking the reins of the 2000s cult show for her return to Canada . For two seasons, the 52-year-old singer has supervised the course of the students integrated into the Maplewood mansion. And she loves it! "For most of them, they haven't been through much in life. We must therefore be benevolent and accompany them in this space where experience is lacking. (…) My life is on a bit of a break, but transmitting is probably one of the things I love most in the world” indicates the interpreter of “Nos coeurs à la fenêtre” to the Canadian magazine 7 Jour, she who does not never hid her desire to teach her knowledge to apprentice singers: “It is in this direction that I am going. My next step is definitely opening a school”.
This project has been maturing in her head for several years now. In the manner of what the "Star Academie" offers, Lara Fabian would like to offer coaching focused on singing but also the mind based on her experience, she who was not spared when she started in show business ... “I see all the benefits of more emotional support. It's something that seems to me very relevant to link it to an interpretation or to attach it to the evolution of an artist. I would have liked that at some point someone gave me just enough time to make a mistake and that in real time, with a lot of benevolence, corrected it for me rather than letting me beat myself up and criticize myself afterwards”, explains the singer, who tends towards a 'holistic approach to singing'”.
“I see a lot of exacerbated human suffering”
While waiting to see this project dear to her heart come true, Lara Fabian is ready to get back to work in parallel with her contribution to the Academy of the TVA channel. As our colleagues write, the diva wishes to get down to writing songs for a new album. "It's already been three years since 'Papillon' came out, and there's a lot to be said about what's happened since, she says in an evasive tone, explaining, conditionally, that she would "like to talk about the importance of staying united, of not stigmatizing and not judging. [We must] remember that we stopped talking about love for two years. We stopped all loving gestures in the name of safety. I would also like to talk about freedom. I see a lot of exacerbated human suffering, I see a lot of divisions, people who have eradicated the sense of family” underlines Lara Fabian, who sees herself defending values such as fraternity or living together on her next record.
For the time being, the one who has released a cookbook is concentrating on her best of tour which will stop in France in the fall. "It's going to be pretty much the same show as "50 World Tour." We're going to tell the story a little differently, but in terms of repertoire, I don't see how I could do without "J’y crois encore", "je t’aime", "Tu es mon autre", “Immortelle”, all these songs that people want to hear” specifies the singer, who will perform in particular two evenings at the Olympia on October 3 and 4.
-----------------------------------
Of course Lara did release an album after Papillon - in December of 2020, the “Lockdown Sessions”, however, she did not use it to write lyrics commenting on current social situations, which apparently is her goal for the next one.
Interesting pictures/videos of the week: ‘Les papillons Blancs’ Instagram site, with the help of fans, made a video celebrating March 26 for Lara. It features many fans’ pictures taken with Lara (who is always so generous in doing so), with the words “Happy Holiday” written on each one. It can be found at:
Here’s their accompanying text: “Life gives us a few dates, and this March 26, 2022 is one of them…we wanted to tell you that despite the weather, the distance and the grey... United with your butterflies from all over the world, but also with your friends, we wanted you to know that we are thinking of you, we love you and we look forward to our reunion with happiness.
This day is yours, may it be sweet to you...
See you soon somewhere dear”
This was ‘interesting’ in another sense: Why March 26th? The'Lara Fabian Coeur de lumière' FB site indicated that March 26th was “Saint Lara” day. In trying to find out more about “Saint Lara”, I consulted the list of Catholic Saints whose feast day falls on March 26th (https://catholicreadings.org/saint-of-the-day-for-march-26/). They don’t list any Saint Lara. It’s certainly not Lara’s birthday; maybe they just want to let Lara know she is missed. Regardless, the pictures, and the sentiment, are beautiful, and it can be enjoyed for those alone.
And another ‘interesting’ video, again in a different way: Lara The Ring Fabian put on a video related to Lara’s port-mortem for the Star Academy, at (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moMfJ2ZO9m8). If you go there, you will find it no longer exists; furthermore, it says that “This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated.” Fortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case, as one can see at (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrU8ynwJtIdQ_jVg3ZN9kRA/videos).
So one person who is supposed to exist, doesn’t appear to; and one who is supposed to have been erased, still exists. Almost like an April Fool’s joke…
Only four weeks to go, and just 6 candidates left on the Star Academie. IMHO, three deserve to be there, so they have gotten it half-right. Like flipping a coin . Stay safe everybody,
David

It can be found at:
http://instagram.com/p/CbkOV_WgGi2
Stay safe everybody,
David
