This past week contained primarily focused on the three topics from this fall: Lara’s book promo; her duet with Felix Lemelin; and some Star Academie news. Lara continued with her book promotion, with the following offer, announced in a video and as text on her FB site
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/videos/646106679893410
or
with the written caption:
---------------------------------------------
Hello to all,
Thank you for the welcome you have reserved for the release of the book "J’ai passe a table" 💕
So I feel like offering you something... 😝
How about choosing a recipe from the book, and making it by yourself, photographing your dish and posting it on your Facebook or Instagram account.
Don't forget to tag me and caption the following 3 hashtags:
#LaraFabian
#Jepasseatable #concoursjepasseatable
I will then choose the best photos, and give the winner a copy of the book dedicated to his name ✍️
The results of the contest will be announced on my social media on December 23rd ✌️
So.... to your frying pan 😋💋.
P.S :
And of course, I will program you an equivalent surprise on the occasion of the release of the book in France, Belgium and Switzerland. 🙏💋
--------------------------
A very ingenious way to get Lara's fan base involved, and get those recipes actually used!
Another (more indirect) promo event was noted by the 'Lara Fabian est ton autre' FB site: From November 25th to 28th, the Salon du book in Montreal was held and they posted a video of Genevieve Charbonneau posing in front of Lara’s book, available at:
www.facebook.com/larafabiantonautre/videos/1089068455182176
Genevieve Charbonneau is a high class fashion photographer, who has photographed Lara often; a picture of them together can be found at

Meanwhile, there’s been a little more publicity about Lara’s duet with Felix Lemelin, published at (https://projectionculturel.com/2021/11/lara-fabian-offre-une-chanson-a-son-protege/):
-----------------------------
Lara Fabian gives the song 'Chez nous' as a gift to her former protégé of La Voix, Félix Lemelin.
During the 2018 edition of La Voix , Félix Lemelin had completely ‘upset’ Lara Fabian during the blind auditions. Three years later, their collaboration takes a whole new form, since they appear for the first time on a piece together.
Written by Lara Fabian and her husband Gabriel Di Giorgio, the song ‘Chez nous’ was given to her former protege Félix Lemelin. In addition to the song, the music video was also released a few days ago. Félix Lemelin took the time to thank his former coach and express his gratitude for this unexpected gift on his Instagram account : “Thank you once again to @larafabianofficial and Gabriel Di Giorgio for creating this song. Thank you to Dominique Laurence for making this video and thank you to all his team for the extraordinary day."
The song Chez nous is also the first single from his next album, the release date of which is yet to be determined.
Lara Fabian also expressed her excitement about this new collaboration on her Instagram account: “I am happy to have written this song with my husband and to sing it alongside an artist as talented as you, my dear. Felix. Long live our collaboration… and congratulations again for your immense talent!” she said.
The song Chez nous , a brand new collaboration between Lara Fabian and Félix Lemelin, is available on all digital platforms.
------------------------------------------
As to how the single is doing…it is not in the top 10 of singles in Quebec (https://palmaresadisq.ca/fr/tops-ventes/chansons/). The video clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrcSDL0PjcE) has over 12,000 views.
And for the Star Academie news, TVA posted the following picture of their four teachers, at
www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=451985336292792&set=a.259589348865726
Their accompanying news was discussed in an article at (https://www.7jours.ca/2021/11/22/un-chanteur-adore-du-public-se-joint-au-corps-professoral-de-star-academie):
----------------------------
Audience-beloved singer joins Star Académie faculty
The next Academicians will be able to count on the experience and knowledge of a brand new teacher!
In the last few weeks, we learned that several creation professors were going to work alternately with the Academicians: Louis-Jean Cormier, FouKi and Ariane Moffatt, whom the public had adored last year. Now a new face will be added to them, that of Vincent Vallières, who completes the faculty.
In addition to these four creation teachers, let us remember that Lara Fabian and Gregory Charles are returning, respectively as director and singing teacher, while Guylaine Tremblay will be in charge of the interpretation body.
The next season of Star Academy will be very close to those that the audience had loved in the early 2000s, because it will mark the return of international stars and the public in the studio. In addition to the public and international stars, the next edition will be marked by the segment “The special request”, a novelty through which Quebecers are called upon to name a person dear to them. The latter could see a song dedicated to him, live on Sunday, on the stage of the Variety.
Moreover, speaking of Variety, the Star Académie team has already announced that none other than Daniel Bélanger will be in the spotlight for the first evening, during a rare television appearance, to sing his greatest hits alongside the Academicians. It will take place on Sunday January 16.
It is therefore on January 16 at 7 p.m. that the great kick-off of the 2022 season of Star Académie, hosted by Marc Dupré, will take place. The dailies will begin the next day, January 17, and will be broadcast, as usual, from Monday to Thursday.
To get started, during the whole week preceding the first Variety, viewers will be able to meet some of the best candidates who presented themselves during the Auditions. It will be the occasion for Lara, Gregory and Guylaine to hear their voices for the first time. It can be seen from Monday to Thursday (January 10 to 13), from 7:30 p.m.
------------------------------
And although we won’t go into this in any great detail, note that there’s a new song that’s been released by the two finalists from last year, William Cloutier and Lunou Zucchini, written by Ariane Moffatt. It’s called “La plus belle des versions de nous-mêmes” (The most beautiful versions of ourselves). It is described as “a haunting rhythmic ballad, is an ode to the stage, a declaration of love for music from artists who cherish it and bring it to life.” It can be heard on all the basic music streaming platforms, and is quite pretty, with their voices blending very well together. An article about it can be found at (https://www.7jours.ca/2021/10/01/william-cloutier-et-lunou-zucchini-lancent-une-nouvelle-chanson-composee-par-ariane-moffatt).
In other news, Lara promoted some beauty products, with the following message:
"After a beautiful day filled with emotions at Star Academy I take some time for myself with an absolutely wonderful ritual from the House Jacynthe" - @larafabianofficial
[This was on the maison jacynthe Instagram account; thanks to the Lara Fabian Lockdown Sessions FB site for the link].
And, the 'Lara Fabian est ton autre' FB site provided a link to an interview Lara had with Marcus Villeneuve, “one of the most renowned and popular hairdressers in Quebec”, who has a new show about him and his world on the TV channel Noovo. The interview can be seen at,
www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Hui4AknTL4
In the video he explains that he has been a big fan of hers, knows all her songs. He has convinced Lara to get a more modern haircut, which frames her face – because, as she says, she has an important role in a film (!). The new haircut can be justified because she is no longer Lara Fabian the singer, but now Lara Fabian the actress. Also, during the summer he worked for two days on her hair for the book; so those pictures where her hair has a more natural and flowing look are due to him.
Now, speaking of that, here’s the next excerpt from Lara’s book “Je passe a table”…
--------------------------
Dangerous birth
I could not benefit from breast milk, I was born at seven months, by cesarean section, mom was in a coma...
She will not see me born, because she had a big crisis of eclampsia. It's a bad rise of albumin in the blood which causes a kind of general poisoning of the mother and the baby.
That day, nobody knows if she and I will survive...
It is true that this January 9, 1970 is very strange...
My mother doesn't feel well that morning, but she can take the pain well, so she keeps silent, it's genetic.
As the tradition requires, my grandmother (my nonna in Italian) Anna came from Sicily to stay with her during the last two months of pregnancy. You never know...
A stroke of luck.
First months of life and falling out of the high chair
She does not speak French, Anna, and that day, she finds herself outside, barefoot in the snow (what an omen!) in front of the house where my father still lives, asking for help by knocking on the neighbors' doors, desperate.
She is cold and my mom is in pain, fainting in her arms.
She doesn't know which saint to turn to, the ambulance will do the trick.
Dad arrives at the hospital after the ambulance. Mom is already in a coma, and when asked what he would do if he had to choose between his wife and child, he collapses against the door of the emergency room.
It's true that my dad has been very busy for months, he has to earn more money, the bills are coming in too fast, he should finally buy some more furniture and replace that three-legged table.
So, he's been remodeling fireplaces fourteen hours a day.
He didn't really realize what was going on in the last few hours.
Chimney sweeping, like in Mary Poppins, is what his father did before him, and since he had to choose a "real job" even if he dreamed of great stages, he complied.
Against all odds, he resolved to leave his voice, his good looks and his guitar in the closet, to honor the "recommendations" of my grandfather, but above all to provide for the needs of this new family, whose hours seemed to be numbered.
I was born at 7:30 pm on January 9, 1970 and my mother will wake up from her heavy sleep nine days later...
The spell of the 9th began.
In the fall of 1970, when I was nine months old, I started eating my very first solid meals.
Mama Luisa, miraculously recovered, decides, given my enthusiasm, to make me for the second time in a row "baby pasta". A dish that today could be defined as comfort food.
Faithful to her traditions and culture, she created her own version of mac and cheese to treat her baby. A very simple recipe: pasta cooked in water, seasoned with salt butter, a dollop of grated pecorino cheese and a whipped egg.
It's all in the turn of the hand.
But this is a recipe that must be done with ‘your belly on the stove’.
To keep me safe, mom decides to put me in the high chair and tie me down. She turns to the cooker, the time of the preparation.
These little star-shaped pastas took only five minutes to cook and required a very quick set-up.
However, if the baby's chair is behind the stove, it is possible, if you lose sight from the stove, that her excessive love of food and impatience could create a drama.
In fact, it takes only three minutes for me to swing and knock over the chair and fall face first. First on the formica table, then on the floor.
The good news is that I started screaming very loudly right away, some of you won't be surprised when reading this, I'm sure...
My mother at the time was not driving, she called a cab and took me to the hospital.
My screams hadn't stopped from the house and while massaging my head, she discovered a lump the size of a grapefruit.
I assure you, I was fine.
Some people have been rocked too close to the wall, I was too close to the stove.
One doesn’t do it again.
----------------------------------------
What drama…glad it all ended well!!!!

And for an even greater contrast (stretching the definition of ‘interesting’): you may have been following the discussion of the ‘Mademoiselle Zhivago’ movie on the Lara Fabian Connecting People site. Their entry for this week displayed the following shot from the movie,

Today we suggest you pay attention to the short story "Fragility," set to the song "Everland"
The short story teaches the viewer that each of us can become a hero and change the world for the better: men end a war and women gain superpowers for a moment to save both their own and someone else's child.
During the filming of this clip a semblance of fighting in the center of Kiev was created.
A stuntman who was "set on fire" in one of the episodes took part in the creation of the short.
The scene with the explosion was filmed in parts: first they shot the car and the explosion itself, then Lara and the child on the green background and then overlapped these frames during editing.
The crew had a hard time mentally during the making of the film.
------------------------------------
As for the coming weeks, we might expect even more Star Academie events, as the show’s opening is now just about six weeks away. And though we don’t yet have a date, Lara’s book release in Europe will likely be approaching with the new year. These stories should then continue to dominate her news, though, as we have now learned, Lara will be in a movie with an important part, so stay tuned! And stay safe everybody,
