A potpourri of different public appearances and interactions this past week, as Lara starts ‘getting out more’. There was some evidence that Lara has begun her promotion for her new book, out in Quebec in little more than a week. The following was indicated on the Lara Fabian est ton autre FB site:
---------------------------------------------------
RaniaH.com🧿♡'s Instagram post:
"Today I was invited to meet the great Lara Fabian to interview her about her first cookbook: "Je passe à table".
It's not the first time I've covered this majestic artist, but today I discovered the pleasure of chatting with a woman who is known for her many talents, but who knows how to remain humble. We talked about our affection for Sicily, as well as her recipe for Tunisian couscous.
She also knew how to calm my fears and put words in my place, when I wanted to express my sensitivity towards certain subjects.
THANK YOU Lara for this precious moment for me.
Stay tuned, if you want to access my full interview with her."
As a reminder, the book will be available from November 3, 2021 in Quebec.

One gets the idea from this small sample that it is a book of remembrances, wrapped around meals and recipes. We’ll know more shortly…
RaniaH provided an Instagram link, www.instagram.com/raniah.coms/ though one has to follow her to see what videos are there.
Lara was on the TV show in Quebec called “En direct de l'univers“ on Saturday, as a surprise guest for Roxanne Bruneau, a singer–songwriter from Quebec. Lara sang a powerful version of “Je t’aime” (showing again that her vocal cords are no longer impaired). Lara The Ring Fabian had a few portions of it available at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyCF1STuDeE
It’s conceivable that a fuller presentation will eventually be available on the web, and if so it will be linked to here. It was pointed out that Lara did not give her fans obvious notice of her appearance on that show, and, often, that’s the case with her public appearances. It is a failing, both for those who follow her and those from the show itself, which would benefit from having her fans tune in.
In her more direct interaction with fans, Lara left the following picture on her FB and Instagram sites,

and
Following is her explanation:

There are people talking about change, others changing the world.
On this Sunday, I share my love at first sight for Gunter Pauli, a man whose extraordinary thought is the other definition of courage.
His genius: the purity of concrete.
In the face of the historic period we are going through, which is actually a real change of civilization, every human being should be inspired by this exceptional Belgian whose unique fight is made with few words.
Also, as a perfect accompaniment to this thought, listen to the HyperDoctors album: ′′Octogone′′ absolutely ESSENTIAL!
Geniuses...
Happy Sunday love you

The ‘Lara Fabian the Netherlands’ site quoted this about Gunter Pauli, from Wikipedia:
------------------------------------
Gunter Pauli (Antwerp, March 3, 1956) is the former owner of the Flemish company Ecover, a company that focuses on producing biodegradable cleaning products. In 1994 he founded ZERI (Zero Emissions Research and Initiatives), which was launched by the United Nations University in Tokyo. ZERI focuses on developing knowledge centers with the aim of developing sustainable production methods without waste.
Pauli is a member of the Club of Rome and author of several books. His first book was the biography of Aurelio Peccei, founder of the Club of Rome. Gunter Pauli was the assistant to Dr. Peccei.
In 1983 he was honored as one of the Outstanding Young Persons of the World.
-------------------------------------
To get a flavor of his approach, of using ‘natural ecosystems’ to tell us how to fulfill our needs with what we already have (as opposed to further exploiting the earth), he has a Tedx talk, at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQBp6z4j704
As to the Hyperdoctors, they consist of Idriss Aberkane, Nikemsi and Sno. You can see their picture at
Octogone is their first album as a group (individual members have their own albums). They’re in the French language rap/hip-hop genre.
About ‘Octogone’ they explain:
“Enter the Octagon!
8 angles of approach to the central theme; that of cycles, immortality, the volatility of the human journey ...
The album is available on all platforms: instabio.cc/octogone27”
You can find the songs from the album on youtube (e.g., www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bL3SITXgP80; some of the songs are more musical than others, (e.g., www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_4qBN3j-Mg)
The album is released under L'Empreinte Records, an independent label (https://www.instagram.com/lempreinterecords/?hl=en). All of those involved have already posted Lara’s post recommending them.
Admittedly, Lara did not look her best in that photo. Perhaps to counter that, she posted the following (2 pictures) on Instagram:
with the caption, “And here we go for a great photo shoot for @staracademietva with my @genevievecharbonneau ☺️💕”
TVA itself responded with hearts to that post as did, interestingly, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, a well-known orchestra conductor.
As this indicates, it seems Lara will be busy with more Star Academie publicity in the coming weeks. With that as an opener, here is some news concerning one of last year’s contestants, the one with a ‘country flavor’ (https://www.7jours.ca/2021/10/22/guillaume-lafond-de-star-academie-realise-un-reve-et-prepare-un-premier-album):
-------------------------------------
Guillaume Lafond of Star Académie realizes a dream and prepares a first album
The former Star Academy candidate has not been idle since leaving the show. In addition to having given a few concerts this summer, he offers a new show format and is working on a first album.
Guillaume Lafond, whom we knew in the most recent edition of Star Académie, arrives in our salons from October 30 to November 1, thanks to the presentation of his virtual show.
“I'm really happy because it will be a show with a group of musicians. During the summer season, I had rather done duet shows. There, I formed my band and we put on a show. I thought it was a good way to present it virtually, since anyone can watch it from the comfort of their living room. There will be compositions, cover arrangements that I and my musicians love to play, and more”, the singer-songwriter assures us.
Having his own group, Guillaume Lafond had cherished this dream for a long time now. “Before, I was an artist who performed in bars, alone or in duo, with my guitar. I had never had a group of my own. I couldn't wait for it to happen. I knew it was going to happen someday, I didn't put pressure on myself with it. That day has arrived, I'm excited to do this with friends, with whom I had been talking about this project for a long time."
As part of the virtual show, Guillaume Lafond will pay tribute to great successes of country song, but also to other musical styles, which he will adapt to his own color. And it is certain that we will find songs that he interpreted at Star Académie, new compositions, and hits from Johhny Cash, one of the singer's inspirations. Other artists who inspired him include Chris Stapleton. “It offers something special. I like the sound it will get. ”
AFTER-STAR ACADEMY
The Star Académie adventure ended several months ago. How would he describe his journey since leaving school? “I would say I'm very busy. I like this! When I left the show, I wanted to take advantage of the springboard that was offered to us, and that's what I did, by offering about forty shows in Quebec. I wanted to keep the wheel spinning. And it is not over, since other projects, unconfirmed for the moment, are coming. "
Regarding reality TV, Guillaume Lafond says he has kept links with some candidates, including Meghan Oak and Lunou Zucchini, but missed the reunion this summer with the whole group. “Meghan, Lunou and I went to see a show of my musicians. But I have been amply busy in the last few months. I was unable to attend the candidates' group meeting, but at the same time having a busy schedule is a good sign.”
A FIRST ALBUM IN SPRING
Through the various shows he gives, the singer-songwriter is working on his first album, which should be released in the spring of 2022. “You are going to find out who Guillaume Lafond is. I will show what my influences are, with my group. We will be offering new equipment never before heard in Quebec.”
On the personal side, he bought a van with his woman, Carolann, to travel across the province. “I just gave myself this with my girlfriend. We wanted to wait for the perfect vehicle, and it happened at the end of the summer. We were able to take advantage of it a little, but next year, we will discover the regions of Quebec.”
The show 'Guillaume Lafond and his musicians' will be recorded in the studio on October 26 at 8 p.m., and it will be available on the online platform 'Live dans ton salon' from October 30, at 8 p.m., to November 1.
--------------------------------------------------
Stories of this nature are presented here occasionally to highlight the good that Lara and the Star Academie have done in nurturing talent in Quebec in only one year. And they have another one coming up.
Interesting photo(s) of the week:
(Once again) from the Lara The Ring Fabian on youtube, another interview to which he added English subtitles. This is the Claire Lamarche Interview (Québec, 1995), hence during the first part of her career in Quebec:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Nzn0F-Mpzc
Very interesting to see Lara as a 25 year old in this interview, and see what has changed and what’s remains the same compared with her 2013 interview in “Thé ou café”. She still looks at people’s hands and gaze; she still feels her greatest flaw is her impulsiveness; she still responds to questions thoughtfully and honestly. But at that point in time she was more confident than she is today – she had not yet suffered the defeats in the press, the accumulating heartbreaks, with Rick and others. One wonders what her life would have been like if she had stayed in Quebec and avoided a lot of those situations. Not meant to be, obviously, and even at this time she indicated she would like to go back to her home country and sing for them, and explore the American market.

And from the lara.fan.fabian Instagram site,
Lara’s book release is about 8 days away, so next week will presumably find her doing much of what needs to be done for publicity – or get to hear what she’s already done. It’s somewhat of a different ‘gig’ for her – not a record, or a concert date, but a book. Wonder if she feels odd about that? And for her fans, it’s also a bit odd. Also, will it be reviewed, and if so, what would that really mean? Its sales will undoubtedly be almost entirely associated with Lara’s fame, rather than any literary quality. Hopefully, Lara – and we – will enjoy it all. Stay safe everybody.
