Lara rediscovered her voice this past week, in more ways than one. First, she left the following video on her FB site,

Along with a photo of Guylaine Tremblay,

In the video she says, “Hello my beautiful Guylaine, my beautiful Guylaine Tremblay, you do not imagine the privilege and the joy that it is for me to find you for this adventure. I believe that the Star Academicians are able to give me the chance that they have of you, being a human being of your dimension, that it is an actress of your density but also of your generosity, your simplicity, your way of transmitting are as many gifts for the marvelous artists that we will have the chance to accompany. As for me, I am personally proud and fan but I believe that the joy to be in contact with someone like you is going to be a true gift of every day. So welcome, I'm looking forward to it.”
She also posted a picture on her Instagram site, at
with the comment, “I am SO happy to find the incredible @guylainetremblay at @staracademietva ✨ Future Academicians will be very lucky to have an actress of her dimension to teach the acting course! That I can't wait for. Auditions begin this Friday in Montreal, for all dates staracademie.ca”
Guylaine Tremblay’s joining the Star Academie is discussed in the following article (https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2021/09/08/guylaine-tremblay-devient-professeure-dinterpretation-a-star-academie):
-------------------------------
Guylaine Tremblay joins the faculty of “Star Académie”. The Academicians of the 2022 cohort will have the pleasure of taking acting courses in the company of the favorite actress of Quebec, recipient of 23 Artis trophies (including 10 for female personality of the year) and nine Gemini awards.
At the academy, Guylaine Tremblay will help her students create an authentic bond with the audience, understand the emotions that inhabit their songs, take the stage and become better performers.
With the director Lara Fabian and the singing teacher Gregory Charles, the actress will also be part of the trio that assesses the candidates each week to determine the endangerments, and will participate in the varieties of Sunday evening.
“Me, talent moves me! Especially when it is accompanied by passion, courage and hard work. It is for all of these reasons that I have been a loyal "Star Académie" viewer from the very beginning. I am infinitely privileged to support all these young people in their dreams! ”said Guylaine Tremblay in a press release.
In nearly 40 years of career, Guylaine Tremblay has played on television, in cinema and in the theater, has done radio and is even preparing a first “one woman show”. She is soaked in humor ("La petite vie") and drama ("Unit 9"), to name only these projects.
The auditions for the next edition of “Star Académie” begin this Friday, September 10, in Montreal, and will then move throughout Quebec and New Brunswick. You must first make an appointment at staracademie.ca before going to the audition location. Additional dates have just been added in Montreal, on October 9 and 10. The vaccination passport will be required from all aspiring candidates.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
And as for those auditions themselves, and general Star Academie news, there’s this (https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2021/09/10/auditions--laventure-star-academie-se-remet-en-branle#cxrecs_s):
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's it, the Star Académie bus is back on the auditions route! Feverish, the jury took place at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal on Friday to meet a first pool of potential academics, and invited the group of participants from the recent 2021 season to join them in launching the festivities in style... Overview of what awaits our future stars.
The production reiterates its desire to unearth a diversity of styles, ages and origins among the aspiring candidates for Star Académie 2022 . We will continue to give a lot of importance to the creation and the shadow work of the artists in this next version, but the performers are also welcome, insists Jean-Philippe Dion, executive producer.
“We are open to everything,” he assures us. Last year almost all academicians composed, and it gave the impression that at Star Académie everyone had to be a songwriter, but that's not what we're looking for. If there are songwriters, we will accompany them, but those who are simply performers also have their place. You have to be able to sing lots of styles, lots of different repertoires. It really takes versatile people.”
“The number 1 criterion is talent,” continues Jean-Philippe Dion. To be able to get through this adventure, to learn about thirty songs every Sunday, you have to have talent and determination. We also want personalities. We ask people a lot to tell us about themselves during the audition.”
Luis Clavis, who sits on the jury with content producer Marianne Boulet and singer Marie-Ève Riverin, among others, seeks authenticity and uniqueness in the talents assessed.
“Me, I want to see people who have a sensitivity, a color of their own, a personality, and who illustrate themselves with what we are used to seeing. Just a big voice, alone, can't do anything, in my eyes. Me, I'm looking for everything else. "
Highlights
Among other highlights on Star Académie 2022 , note that the new cohort of candidates will still be staying at the Manoir Maplewood in Waterloo.
A new theme song will follow “Maintenant et partout”; we keep the secret for now, but the piece is already ready.
Given the reductions in health measures, "we spent the chainsaw on the decor" of the MELS studio, reveals Jean-Philippe Dion, to make room for the public during the Sunday varieties.
“We made the stage smaller in order to have an audience. It will be extraordinary to have the energy of the world! The public will not have only a small place in this setting ... "
In the same vein, the possibilities are also widening for the arrival of foreign stars on the set. "There isn't an international star who doesn't have a Star Académie file on their desk right now!"
And Mika? Jean-Philippe Dion would like to work with him again, but we want to bring diversity and novelty to the concept, so we are not announcing anything about him for the moment.
With Guylaine Tremblay
School training portion, in addition to the creation workshops and their illustrious rotating teachers (see box), the famous school will welcome a new interpretation teacher, the always appreciated Guylaine Tremblay.
"She is a perfect interpretation teacher, and she is a "fan"of Star Ac, underlines Jean-Philippe Dion. Lara Fabian (director of the academy) also really wanted to work with her. In her course, Guylaine will go into several horizons. It will teach academics to connect to a sad or a happy song. We could also make them play a little more this year, make them do theater, bring out the actors in them.”
The vaccination passport is required to have access to the auditions of “Star Académie”. "If some have issues, their second dose promises to be too far, we will work out," says Jean-Philippe Dion. Anyone who wants to can come."
You can always register at staracademie.ca to try your luck at the auditions, which will crisscross Quebec and New Brunswick in the coming weeks (and return to Montreal on October 9 and 10). Over $ 325,000 in prizes will be offered to future academics, including a $10,000 cash contribution to each offered by QUB musique.
RENOWNED TEACHERS DURING CREATION!
The course plan for academics has been modified for the next edition. In 2022, the artistic identity course (taught by Anne Dorval, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Xavier Dolan, Marc Séguin and Pepe Munoz last year) will exit. Instead, we imagined Guylaine Tremblay's new interpretation class, and reinstated a creation range, where five renowned teachers will take turns sharing the task: Ariane Moffatt (who was the soul of the last year), Louis-Jean Cormier, FouKi and two other personalities who will be announced soon. The weekly meeting will be similar to the material distilled by Ariane Moffatt in 2021, but the changes of holders will enhance the content.
“From each of the teachers there will be something different to learn, and may connect differently with certain people,” says Jean-Philippe Dion. The course will be very focused on the production, the results and the emergence of compositions.”
Happy to join the adventure, FouKi intends to deal as much with writing as with work in the studio during his presence in Waterloo.
"I want to address the aspect of freeing your madman," says the young rapper. Words don't always count; sometimes just a well-placed shout can be amazing! In music, freeing your madman is what is most important ... I find the creative side of Star Académie ‘fun’!"
ELDERS' ADVICE TO ASPIRING CANDIDATES FOR AUDITIONS
William Cloutier : “Sing a song that you know well, backwards and forwards, to be comfortable despite the nervousness. Me, it served me a lot. And don't hesitate to explain your choice of song. We thus show our personality and create a link with the jury. It's time to take up all the space!”
Guillaume Lafond : “You shouldn't stress yourself too much and be yourself. If it has to happen, it will. If it works, so much the better, and if not, it's not the end of the world. There is luck in that ... "
Shayan Heidari : “Be passionate! Forget the concept of audition and competition. Do it because you want to share a message and a purpose. Do it for love, joy, happiness, fun, and the rest will come. If you are not chosen, there is something else waiting for you ... "
Zara Sargsyan : “Believe in yourself, be confident and comfortable with your song. It's an audition, but it ends up being a performance ... "
Rosalie Ayotte : “Prepare yourself well, and prepare more than a song. You never know what the judges will ask you. And know that the hearing begins as soon as you set foot in the room; it's not only the vocals part, but also how you present yourself and interact with the jury. It has a lot of impact.”
Jacob Roberge : "Be yourself, do what you want and don't worry about what other people think!"
-------------------------------------
The article did not mention Lara as being part of the jury overseeing the applicants, so it’s unlikely that she was actually at the first auditions. If memory serves me, she wasn’t at the auditions last year either.
One other aspect of Lara’s video FB message: perhaps more important than its content, the fact that Lara provided a spoken message implies she’s no longer under a medical prescription of ‘silence’ for her vocal cord issues, or at least not one so severe as to keep her from communicating vocally with her audience ,as has been the case for the last several months.
Good news that was also reinforced by Lara’s appearance as a guest on France Beaudoin's show ′′Pour emporter′′ see ici.artv.ca/blogue/pour-emporter-oeuvres-coup-de-coeur/ which also listed the actress Marie Laberge's definition of Lara Fabian):
-----------------------------------------
′′Born in Belgium with a root in Italy, this devouring polyglot of kilometers chose to come to Quebec... for our greatest happiness.
When she releases an album titled ′′All Women Are In Me ", it's not a shortcut, it's a truth.
Wife, daughter, mother, friend, accomplice, protector, artist, singer, songwriter,
she's way more than all these names, she's herself and she's the other.
The other one who hopes, who desires, who projects and exposes herself.
The other one who pains and hides her wounds by calling them scratches.
She is able to tell the truth without hitting or sorrow,
She is capable of courage without moaning, without deploring the contrary winds,
Despite the loneliness, one of the gifted whom the little ones envy from the bottom of their incapacity.
She attracts light without looking for it.
When she sings, it's not her voice alone that reaches us, but her humanity.
She knows how to give: her measure is excessive.
Passion is her sister.
The emotion, its nature."

It’s possible Lara has never gotten such a creative compliment.

Lara Fabian talks about her partner with love and tenderness
Saturday, Sept. 11
Lara Fabian visited France Beaudoin on her set this Friday.
The two women approached several facets of the artist’s life, always in connection with the words, which are at the heart of this great show from ICI ARTV.
The singer said that among the most beautiful words she had received in her life was her wedding letter, written by her spouse in Italian. ”My husband had it translated so that all the guests could read what he was saying to me”, says the happy wife.
See photos of their wedding here, recently redistributed by the bride to mark the eighth anniversary of their union.
Lara Fabian specifies that what seduced her about Gabriel Di Giorgio is ”his purity, his simplicity, his fantasy”.
She adds : ”He’s a polymorphic artist". Gabriel Di Giorgio is a magician, illusionist, singer, musician and more. ”There’s not much this guy can’t do”, specifies his sweet.
The host launched to her guest that her husband could participate in the scenography of her shows, but the main interested party replied: “We learn in life“. We understand that she will therefore no longer work with the man who shares her life.
Note that Lara Fabian recently announced a project that is particularly close to her heart, and which resembles her. More details here.
--------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian also talked with France Beaudoin about the term "diva" and the pejorative connotation that this designation has had in her life. As she has said in the past, it should mean someone who has achieved excellence in their field, but instead it has come to mean someone who makes unreasonable, whimsical demands due to an overinflated sense of self. Like “somebody who wants broccoli with cheddar in their hotel room at 3:30 in the morning”.
In other news, in a continuation of the celebration of Nue’s 20th anniversary, Lara posted a video that Matt Herskowitz made commenting on his participation in the album, which involved playing the piano nocturne at the end of it (that was not included in the track listing). It can be found at
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/videos/550342669529042
He called his participation a ‘transformative’ experience, and was quite complimentary to Lara as a person with true love in her heart and for music. He looked for that in himself while listening to the songs of the album, and expressed his gratitude to her for giving him the privilege of sharing in these songs. He then played a beautiful extract of “Aimer déjà” from his nocturne. A number of people writing in said that listening to that helped them rediscover the song.
Lara, in posting this link, added, “Thanks to my friend Matt... 20 years of the album ′′Nue′′... how time flies...
I love you 💋♥️💋”
Interesting picture(s) of the week: from the Lara Fabian est ton autre FB site, a beautiful picture emphasizing the glasses produced at Bar à lunettes by Marie-Sophie Dion in Montreal.

The “Glasses Bar” is the favorite place for artists in love with glasses... including the incomparable Lara Fabian. How lucky to welcome her home!”
And, in the final proof that Lara’s “voice” is back to normal, she even sang a bit of ‘Saisir le jour’ on the show discussed above, “Pour emporter′′, as provided by Lara The Ring Fabian, at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=N39tK2ZXSSg
Now that Lara has her voice, we can expect a more active public footprint in the coming weeks, both for the Star Academie and her own music career. It’s been a tough few months, for Lara and her fans, but it looks like there are brighter times ahead! Let’s make that true for all of us.
