Not a ‘peep’ from Lara or her team this past week, as her vocal affliction combined with the deep heart of summer, and the revitalized pandemic, serve to minimize opportunities for public interaction. We do know, however, what is happening to Lara’s release of the vinyl version of ‘Nue’, on the 20th anniversary of its initial CD release. This is from the Lara Fabian est ton autre site:
-----------------------------------------------------
“Dear all,
The collector vinyl ′"Nue" is currently sold out on the site vinylecollector.
For those who absolutely want to get it, know it's still available on Amazon and Cultura sites.
The Fnac doesn't seem to be planned for this commercialization...
Feel free to get it soon! We don't know the number of prints but it's a numbered anniversary collector. Therefore, there's not going to be many. Here you are warned 😊👍
Thank you so much to Jeremy of the Les Papillons Blancs association (association of 903 fans around Lara Fabian) for the valuable information. 😊
----------------------------------------------------
Continuing with our recollection of Nue, and by extension Rick Allison, Lara’s 2001 documentary “Intime” about her recording of Nue with Rick Allison is available on youtube with English subtitles. It can be found at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KqPxfI_KVM
Long a favorite for its intimate portrayal of Lara, and due to the popularity of the record, it also features Lara discussing how miserable she was, and how the fans serenading her at Nimes with their song “On t’aime” so lightened her mood. As shown, her interactions with Rick are varied, she is overwhelmed by people’s emotional reactions to her, and she is as always her sensitive self. Before the “Lara” documentary there was this one, equally as revealing, although about a woman 20 years younger, very uncertain about herself, and feeling that she was without any help. Not to be missed!
The documentary also returns us to a time when a release of a Lara Fabian album was a very big deal, with people in various (French-speaking) countries lining up to see her promote it. Her last few albums, produced in very short periods of time, are far removed from the excitement that prevailed then. If it is even possible for her to recapture some semblance of the magic of a new album release, she will have to take it as seriously as she is shown doing in “Intime”. But then her self image was riding on the audience’s response, and she had something to prove to herself. Now, surrounded by a loving family, and with her place in French chanson history largely assured, that’s much less true.
Given that an album 20 years old has been the focus here for the least several weeks, it’s only appropriate that France Bleu is running a contest called “In the Retro”. Here’s their announcement (thanks to the "Lara Fabian Coeur de lumière" site for the link):
-----------------------------------
IN RETRO, EVEN IN THE SUMMER!
Who would you like to hear this week in the best of Dans le rétro? Julie Zenatti, Zaz or Lara Fabian! Tell us in comments and find the winner of the week this Saturday at 1pm on France Bleu!
------------------------------------
One can vote for Lara directly on the France Bleu site, but one wonders whether winning is a victory – does that establish one as a ‘retro’ artist? A picture of these artists from their site can be seen at

There’s some Star Academie news, from www.facebook.com/staracademietva/:
--------------------------------
Star Academy has found its next host! Very excited to announce that Marc Dupré will be hosting the great varieties of Sunday night next winter! ✨✨✨
After making the 2012 cuvée album, Marc is excited to reunite with the Star Academy family! He is an accomplished singer / songwriter who knows all the facets of the singing profession.
For years, he has been accompanying, advising and investing in Quebec's musical succession. He will be at the front row to guide Academicians to their dream, cheer for their performances and present you with great numbers!
To sign up for Auditions: staracademie.ca
--------------------------------------------------
He’s certainly a professional (he was last on La Voix), and one can see Lara interacting quite well with him; more likely than not she was involved in the decision.
And, once again, another Star Academie story that is essentially off-topic, at

Rosalie from Star Académie has grown her hair out and doesn't look like this anymore
Rosalie Ayotte was one of the most outstanding candidates of this new edition of Star Académie.
The 19-year-old singer made it to the semi-finals, when she competed against Lunou and Queenie. It was finally Lunou who went to the grand final and she went to join William Cloutier for the grand final.
Rosalie charmed all of Quebec during her career as we could see her musical talent, her voice and her endearing personality!
Her look with her shaved hair also won the hearts of all of Quebec. It was good to see Rosalie so confidently on stage every week at the Sunday galas. Since her appearance on the show, the singer has let her hair grow and it suits her as well!
Like many Quebec stars, Rosalie was on the red carpet last night for Sam, a feature film by Yan England. The singer was also alongside her acolytes from Star Académie, it was beautiful to see the clan reunite! She was photographed with her new haircut, it really changes her look!
Here are the photos in question: [and they show them; see also below].
With or without hair, Rosalie Ayotte is always splendid!
However, the young woman already has much longer hair! Discover 15 photos right here...

Of the 15 academician participants, 10 of them were present at the event referred to above. One wonders whether Lara would have attended, if her health or availability allowed it.
Interesting photo(s)/videos of the week:
Jim Stevens has a collection of Lara pictures on the ‘pinterest’ site, at
From the larafabian_fanpage_, a set of very different pictures,
And a more standard yet wonderful picture from Lara Fabian the Voice
It’s not clear when Lara will be back in the public eye, and what she will do when she is. Stay tuned…meanwhile, we can DREAM that she’s working on an album of more intense ballads with Rick Allison, like in “Intime”… Much more likely, she may be planning or even away on vacation in Sicily. While Italy is currently in a state of emergency, they are accepting visitors from Canada (and the European Union, given Lara’s Belgium identity), and can avoid the 10 day quarantine with proof of vaccination, a negative COVID test taken within 48 hours, or when entering on a “COVID-tested” flight. If that is where she is going, let’s hope she, like all of us, stays safe.
