During this past week, a little more information came out about Lara’s new album, which will become available next week. As discussed in the Canadian publication “7jours”

Lara Fabian sings a duet with her daughter Lou on a new family album
During the confinement period, Lara Fabian recorded a new album, Lockdown Sessions, which allowed her to explore new paths of creation.
Together with her husband and daughter, Lou, they created this collection of 12 songs in their home. “My daughter sings with me; it is very beautiful. I mixed philosophical themes with great classical tunes: Sati, Fauré, Mozart ... I used my voice as an instrument, the themes as repetitive sentences, like mantras."
She also wrote a more engaged song, Feminicide . “It talks about the situation of women all over the world, especially since, since the confinement, violence against women has increased tenfold. It troubled me to learn all the horror stories I heard on this subject.”
Her new album, Lockdown Sessions , is only available on her website larafabian.com.
-----------------------------------------------
Lara had indicated she would personally sign the copies of the album, and thus released a picture of herself doing so,
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803/4808899825818143/
Along with this, the caption read, “Thank you all for the already numerous orders for "Lockdown Sessions" ... as promised, I will dedicate them to you ... personally ...
I Love You …” The album will become available starting December 16th.
Other than that, Lara’s main communication with her fans related to the Leski Foundation, which we know (quoting from their website) is: “a non-profit organization incorporated in Quebec, whose mission is to assist people who have been victims of criminals, as well as people with mental health problems and individuals struggling with autism spectrum disorder. The objective is to offer a punctual accompaniment with assistance animals to support people who wish to compensate for their disability in their daily lives, increase their autonomy and avoid social exclusion.”
Lara who is the spokesperson for the foundation, posted a picture of herself with her dog Kayla, one of the support animals, at
along with the caption, “I support @fondation_leski
An essential association at this time more than ever ... thank you in advance for your generosity towards them.”
More generally, the Foundation now has six dogs, and Lara included a link to pictures associated with another of the support dogs, Simba, at
www.facebook.com/Fondation.leski/photos/pcb.1801034610044210/1801033526710985/
The accompanying story notes that Simba has led a hard life, having been abandoned several times, but still has managed to become “an extraordinary intervention partner”, whose “presence makes people in need more calm and have more ease of communicating with those who can help them more effectively.” During the holiday season, this is another worthy charity for those interested in donating.
Later this week (on the 13th) Lara will be appearing on the 30th anniversary of the Refuge des Jeunes de Montréal joined by various other performers to offer a concert that will be shown on ICI Télé. Again, expect it to be visible only within Quebec (except perhaps if one has a VPN connection), although some videos may ‘slip out’ – and if the channel wants to publicize the charity event, it would seem useful to let at least some of the videos appear on youtube. Donations give help to young people with problems, and there are 600 who will (hopefully) be recipients this year. Overall in the previous 29 years more than 21,000 young people have received aid (e.g., www.envedette.ca/potins-stars-quebec/television/lara-fabian-lulu-hughes-melissa-bedard-30e-show-du-refuge-1.13972027?fbclid=IwAR3oT6B-m22Nux-5H8rP-ue6ZMvtREZpiFJp4LHC0aVjPIPf9BWcVz7Ktfk).
The show appears to have been pre-recorded, as pictures are already available (thanks to the Lara Fabian Par Amour site):

They were accompanied by the following message, written by the photographer Laurence Labat:
′′This year, 2020, will remain engraved in our memories, for sure... and despite this damn Covid, the show will be on the air on 13 December.
Recorded WITHOUT public, with the necessary sanitary measures… artists of the heart, still at the command of this fabulous boat and with this year Bruno Pelletier, Lulu Hughes, Brigitte Boisjoli, Lara Fabian, Mélissa Bédard, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Kim Richardson, Maka Kotto...
And for this 30th Shelter Show: Help them fill the first empty room in history. The non-event of the year! Get your ′′symbolic tickets′′ now at noshowdurefuge.ca/
And thank you to Bernard Monfette for your trust which is renewed every year′′

As indicated by the pictures, the celebrities appeared together on stage, with some (though not complete) social distancing. One has to wonder how safe that was, given the upsurge in the coronavirus in Quebec. The current statistics (https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/quebec-reports-1-577-new-cases-of-covid-19-and-22-more-deaths-1.5220167) show that there were 1577 new cases yesterday – 472 in Montreal - and 22 more deaths in the province. Over the last week there has averaged 1544 cases per day. In comparison, three months earlier there were just 200 cases/day in Quebec. The numbers keep going up and Montreal is now in the Level 4 – Maximum Alert Zone. That means: private indoor or outdoor gatherings are prohibited as are visitors from another address (one visitor from another address is allowed – hopefully the same one each time). Exceptions are made for caregivers or day laborers. Travel between regions and cities is discouraged. There are numerous restrictions on classes for students, although schools are still open. No organized sports, physical or recreational activities are permitted. Bars and restaurants are closed for indoor food or drink consumption. There are restrictions on the number of people admitted to commercial enterprises based on floor size.
In particular, for entertainment activities: “Activities organized in a public place are prohibited, except for places of worship and funerals (maximum 25 people excluding funeral workers and volunteers inside or outside the building and an attendance register must be kept). In addition, no food or alcohol can be served. And for audiences in indoor public places: Performance venues, cinemas, theatres and museums are closed. [Note the recording of this charity event did take place without any audience…].
On a more positive front, 4000 vaccinations will become available this week in Quebec, going first to publicly run home care residents (of which there are 40,000) and then health care workers. Next in line will be residents of private seniors' care homes, then people living in geographically isolated communities. This will be followed, in order, by all people over 80; all people over 70; then all people over 60. Finally, again in order, will be people under 60 who have medical conditions -- a very big group comprising over a million people; essential workers under the age of 60 in fields other than health; and then the rest of the population, a group of about 3.4 million.
It is anticipated that there should be enough doses sent in the first three months of the new year to vaccinate 650,000 Quebecers by the end of March. From the above order, and what we think we know of Lara’s health, one should not expect her or Gabriel to be in line for a vaccination before the summer (and she has concerts planned in June).
For the ‘interesting photo(s) of the week (in addition to those of the forthcoming charity show): a shout-out to the larafabian_fanpage_ Instagram site, which has been posting pictures of Lara for over a year now. You can see their latest at
and many many others are available at www.instagram.com/larafabian_fanpage_/. Good job!
Again, Lara has her ‘benefit’ appearance” this coming week, and in a little more than a week her new album will appear. A nice flurry of activity as the year continues winding down – one which can’t end soon enough! Stay safe everybody.
