A potpourri of topics this past week. First, Lara continued the rescheduling of her postponed concerts, with those in France and Switzerland getting new dates, informing fans with a notice on her Facebook and Instagram accounts:
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803/4519760604732068/
or
The accompanying message was, “Here are the new French dates following the postponement of the tour ′′ 50 World Tour ′′
The current situation forces us to be patient to find ourselves better.”
As can be seen, the concerts in Paris, Marseille and Le Cannet will now take place from June 4-8, and then, after her ‘mandatory’ 12 day break, will conclude in Lyon and Geneva on June 20 and 22nd. If these new dates run into coronavirus trouble, then we are all in trouble.
In addition, though it didn’t get the same publicity on Lara’s accounts, she has rescheduled her concert in Belgrade as noted in the article at starkarena.co.rs/en/en/lara-fabian-on-june-26-2021-at-stark-arena/:
-----------------------------------
Lara Fabian on June 26, 2021 at Stark Arena.
We would like to inform all fans of pop star Lara Fabian, whose concert was initially planned for May 10 2020 at Stark arena, that a new date, June 26 2021, has been set as part of the scheduled 2021 tour.
We remind you that this is the second re-scheduling of Lara Fabian’s Belgrade concert. The first planned concert date set for November 2019 was moved to May 10, 2020 due to her engagement in the TV Show program The Voice. The May 10 event could not be held due to corona virus pandemic.
We believe that the new date will be the lucky one for all of us, that the situation with the corona virus will stabilize and that in June we will have the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular show by this great music star.
Purchased tickets for both previously scheduled concerts will be valid for the new concert date and do not need to be replaced.
Ticket prices for the concert remain the same: 3200, 3500, 3900, 4000, 5500, 7000 and 8500 rsd and can be found at the box office of Ticket Vision, as well as online at starkarena.co.rs/ and http: / /www.tickets.rs.
We expect that the concert will gather numerous fans from the country and the region, having in mind Lara Fabian’ s career and high-class show production.
The most loyal fans who have already bought tickets for the Belgrade concert are in for a special surprise at the concert.
We invite Lara Fabian’s fans and music lovers to secure their tickets for the concert in time, as it will surely be a memorable one.
"Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Take care." This is Lara Fabian’s message to her fans on her official Facebook account.
LARA FABIAN 50 WORLD TOUR
Her strong voice can be recognized from the first note and she knows how to arouse the most beautiful emotions, which is evidenced by numerous music awards as well as over 20 million albums sold worldwide.
With her music she sends a message of love, equality and strong emotions to her fans around the world.
She is the owner of many hits, of which the most famous are: Je T'aime, Quédate, Je Suis Malade, Adagio, Caruso and many others.
-----------------------------------------
Interesting that 'Quedate' is included in the mix of her most famous songs. A personal anecdote: I once walked into a store, of hispanic ownership, and Quedate was being played on the radio, on a Spanish station. The owner of the store happened to mention to me that he really loved that song, but that nobody knew anything about the singer (!). Though I wouldn't bet on it, maybe some day Lara will return to the Spanish language, and give concerts with such songs in Spanish language countries.
Then, Lara left a beguiling picture of herself again on both her Facebook and Instagram pages,
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/
or
with the caption, “Heading to the studio of ′′Ça finit bien la semaine′′ to discuss, in particular, the upcoming release of the documentary ′′ Lara ′′.
Can't wait for you to find out!
Thanks to @gloriabassdesign and @gloriabassdesign for the outfit and the jewelry 🙏🥰🥰💋

Though taped last week, it will air this coming Friday.
Concerning the documentary on Lara itself, the Lara Fabian Coeur de Lumiere FB site provided the following video promo:
www.facebook.com/larafabiancoeurdelumiere/videos/1015446302260760
along with the caption, “Find the long-awaited ′′Lara′′ coverage on Club Illico from October 15th. You can find Lara in full privacy on her 50 World Tour tour. You can also find pictures of the surprise made to Lara for her birthday at the Forest National in Brussels. This one was organized by” l'association des papillons blancs”. You can find this group here:
www.facebook.com/groups/LaraFabianSurprise50WorldTourForestNational”
Unfortunately, as many have pointed out, this is a private Canadian channel, not accessible outside the country or to non-subscribers (even by VPN). So one may well have to wait for it to appear on another channel or medium (or depend upon some kind soul to make it more readily available .
You may remember that this documentary was supposed to come out awhile ago, and it was documenting Lara’s 50 World Tour. It was postponed when the tour was postponed; in particular, it was thought they wanted to include the shows in Paris. Regardless of whether that was initially true or not, it’s clear they are not waiting for them (‘til next June), and so here it is now.
Concerning Lara’s Star Academy work, there was this photo
www.facebook.com/staracademietva/photos/a.373359754066991/404905610912405/
and accompanying discussion:

Lara Fabian is the queen. The queen of voices, the queen of performers, the queen of listening, kindness and humanity. We could not ask for better to accompany the Academicians in the great adventure of Star Académie.
"The part of me that will lead, that is a director, is the part of me that knows that the real strength of a leader is a team and a family."
Today is the last day of auditions in Montreal. We're taking the road to Rimouski next weekend to meet you. Lots of dates are still available. We really hope to hear from you. Make an appointment at www.staracademie.ca.
------------------------------------
Outside of scheduled interviews with the media, and whatever preparation has begun for her still upcoming appearance as a guest on La Voix, this is what is undoubtedly taking up much of Lara’s time.
In other news, Lara has been nominated for the ADISQ Gala in the song of the year category with "Par amour”:

Don't forget to vote for Lara Fabian and her title "Par Amour"! ❤
ATTENTION!!! This competition is only available for residents of Canada and ends on October 22, 2020 at 17 pm!!!
-------------------------------
If it wins it will be a measure of her popularity in Quebec [although the songs grows on you, and the lyrics are quite meaningful, it was not my favorite song on the ‘Papillon’ album]. Note that is the only music category Lara was nominated for. The album Papillon was actually released in 2019, with a "re-issue" in 2020.
A full list of the nominees is available at (https://musiccanada.wordpress.com/) (just scroll down to see them).
The FB site “Lara Fabian Par Amour” may be new to you; here’s an introduction to it:

In advance I welcome you to this new chapter.

Good luck to them!!!!
With respect to Adisq and other music awards, one might wonder whether the release of albums in Canada has suffered due to the pandemic. An article in music Canada has addressed this question (https://musiccanada.wordpress.com/):
--------------------------------------
Comparing the number of Canadian artist releases to date this year with the previous couple of years, LPs are equivalent. October 2 sees 436 albums for 2020, with 435 released as of October 4 in 2019, and 437 as of October 5 in 2018. (Some were wondering if releases have slowed down in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic which does not appear to be the case). As far as extended plays go, the numbers are actually up, quite significantly. With the same dates, 2020 has seen 196 EPs come out, while 2019 saw 160, and 2018 only 121 the same time of year. The question has been posed if artists are opting to release less albums and more EPs in this so-called streaming era. As far as Canada goes, we are seeing the same number of albums released but growing numbers of extended plays.
------------------------------------
You may remember that Lara has said that she may well release fewer CDs in the future, opting to make her music available in other ways – and without using the term, her description of ‘release of a few songs’ from time to time strongly resembles EPs. We’ll see if that comes to pass with the next project, her ‘ confined music project’, that she intimated might be ready relatively soon (this was said before she became director of Star Academie).
The Lara Fabian Multimedia site is once again continuing to upgrade the quality of Lara’s official music videos. It can be found at:

Lara’s career seems to be running quite nicely despite the pandemic. However, in Quebec as elsewhere it is not over. The latest statistics (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/covid-19-in-quebec-need-to-know-october-5-1.5750333) show:
Quebec reported 1,191 new cases of COVID-19 and six more deaths on Monday. This is the highest single-day total since the pandemic started (!) [though it’s possible there were more in the spring that were not recorded]. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 79,650 confirmed cases and 5,884 people have died.
There are 361 people in the hospital (an increase of 27), including 62 in intensive care (a decrease of two).
Cases have actually been soaring since the beginning of September. And with cases soaring, the Quebec government has made masks mandatory for high school students starting Oct. 8. It has also banned team sports, organized leisure activities and shut down gyms.
Hopefully, Lara will be able to continue with all her projects in the midst of this increase. And even more, hopefully she will continue to be healthy – the same to all of you.
