Not surprisingly, it was announced this past week that Lara had cancelled the other concerts she had in September, those in Odessa at the end of the month [this was so likely that we never even mentioned them]. Her exact words, on both her FB and Instagram accounts were:
𝓓𝓮𝓪𝓻 𝓪𝓵𝓵,
ℝ𝕖𝕤𝕔𝕙𝕖𝕕𝕦𝕝𝕖 𝕕𝕒𝕥𝕖𝕤 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕃𝕒𝕣𝕒’𝕤 𝕆𝕕𝕖𝕤𝕤𝕒 𝕤𝕙𝕠𝕨𝕤 :
𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 : September 27/28, 2020
𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 : June 15/16, 2021
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Take care.
The time frame for resuming them is similar to what other artists have been doing (if those dates will not work, we’re all in a lot of trouble!).
Of course, the three concerts in Quebec in December are still on the table. The situation currently in that province is the following (https://www.quebec.ca/en/health/health-issues/a-z/2019-coronavirus/situation-coronavirus-in-quebec/):
-----------------------------
For now, the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) is under control in Québec, but the present weeks are critical. Community transmission of the virus now extends to all regions of Québec. The Government is taking all the necessary measures to contain the contagion as much as possible.
The latest data of the evolution of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours in Québec reveal:
276 new cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 65,262.
No new death has occurred in the last 24 hours, and no other death is added, for a total which remains at 5,780.
The number of hospitalizations remained stable compared to the previous day, for a cumulative total of 124. Among these, the number of people in intensive care also remained stable, for a total of 19.
----------------------------------
This is within the context of the on-going rules that prevent gatherings of more than 250 people, hence not practically allowing for any of Lara’s concerts. It’s hard to imagine that those rules will be relaxed as the weather gets colder, a time notorious for increases in flu cases, but we’ll see.
Otherwise Lara provided a humorous video of her exercising with her coach, at

On the 'media' front, Tele-Quebec on their show “Cette annee-la” celebrated September 1996, and a noteworthy event that month was the release of Lara’s “Pure” album, and the single “Tout”. Lara came to join them during this past Saturday night, shown in the photo below:

BUT – unfortunately though not unexpectedly - the videos can only be seen within the country.
The description reads:

Marc Labrèche and his collaborators revisit 1996 with Lara Fabian, whose popularity reached its peaks with the album Pure and who, that year, also received her Canadian citizenship. We are interested in the resonance of some of the most significant pieces of this opus in determining the career of the artist. The singer La Bronze surprises her by revisiting “Je t'aime”, a true hymn to love!
-------------------------------------------------------
Lara came on and discussed the momentum that the album developed [and we know it has received more ‘airplay’ at her concerts than any other]. They showed a clip of the video of “Tout” - which embarrassed her, given her outfit [but they showed other video clips, including of Celine Dion, looked equally “unique” ]. She also briefly mentioned her current situation, with her family, and being on The Voice in France. La Bronze did a slow, haunting and respectful version of “Je t’aime”, to widespread approval. Guests were asked to provide entertainment recommendations, and Lara mentioned “The Man in the High Castle”, as she has previously. All in all, it was a relaxed, humorous appearance, with a very likeable Lara, the type of show one has come to expect from her in Quebec.
In addition, one week ago on the show Urban Legends, featuring “Da Uzi”, Lara made a surprise appearance, and spoke to him in Italian. That can be seen at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mos9SH2E-uM
(with Lara showing up at about the 20:20 mark).
These programs, as well as her appearance earlier this summer on Bonsoir Bonsoir of some 30 minutes (where she herself sung a portion of “Je t’aime”, as well as presenting “C’est l’heure”) illustrate that Lara is making good use of the time available to her to keep herself in the conversation in Quebec.
As a side note, on the same day as the TQ program there was another performance of one of Lara’s songs that got a great reception. 12-year old Emma, on The Voice Kids on TF1 in France, did an wonderful rendition of “Adagio” in Italian, and three judges turned around for her. That video is available, at

Lara appeared on the cover of Echos Vedettes in their ‘back to school/la rentree’ issue, the cover being available (thanks to the Lara Fabian Greece FB site) at

As we know, Lara will be appearing as a guest on La Voix, which the accompanying blurb notes will be “returning in force”.

As one can see Lara is keeping herself in the public eye, just like she’s always done. Hopefully that will continue. She makes a perfect guest, attractive, articulate, humorous, and of course singing beautifully when the occasion arises. We know that in several weeks she’ll be appearing in La Voix, which will then allow her to have another big audience. She seems to be enjoying herself, within the constraints the current situation allows. Meanwhile, stay safe everybody.
