Lara provided a gift to people this past week, as she had suggested. She introduced it like this, on her FB site:
--------------------
“Don’t worry about me
Dear all,
A few months ago the Riverin Sisters, my "daughters", and I were singing this song confidentially in rehearsal.
For my part, I made them discover this anthem of solidarity and, and they, much later, surprised me by representing it to me by creating a harmonized version.
United, although at a distance in this lockdown, we mixed ourselves...
Manu recorded for us a piano, each of us sang the song live from our homes.
Marie-Eve designed the video and created magic, while her boyfriend Mathieu Dumont mixed the sound.
Here is the clip of this music moment in memory of our unique link on tour... a moment that I wish to share with you...
A great team work! Well done!
Thank you 🙏🏻 everyone
Take care... and I wish you a happy Sunday...
Enjoy! ❤️ ❤️

A wonderful song and video (her second this month). The original, from Frances (i.e., Sophie Frances Cooke), can be found at www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzWkKXuv00U
Here are the lyrics as sung:
---------------------------
I'll feel the fear for you, I'll cry your tears for you I'll do anything I can to make you comfortable Even if I fall down when you're not around Don't worry about me, don't worry about me
Cause if I fall, you'll fall And if I rise, we rise together When I smile, you'll smile And don't worry about me, don't worry about me
I'll feel the fear for you, I'll cry your tears for you I'll do anything I can to make you comfortable Even if I fall down when you're not around Don't worry about me, don't worry about me
I'll climb the hills you face, I'll do this in your place I'd do anything to go through it instead of you. But even if I fall down when you're not around Don't worry about me, don't worry about me
Cause if I fall, you'll fall And if I rise, we rise together When I smile, you'll smile Don't worry about me, don't worry about me
Cause if I fall, you'll fall And if I rise, we rise together When I smile, you'll smile Don't worry about me, don't worry about me
Cause if I fall, you'll fall And if I rise, we rise together And when I smile, you'll smile Don't worry about me, don't worry about me. Don’t worry about me, don’t worry about me
-------------------------------
Shortly before, Lara introduced it by writing, “I promised you a little gift...
I'll post it to you this Sunday...
A few notes, a few words and some images to tell you how much I think of you... and that this moment we live, we live it and will all live together... as always... because it's together we have always known to accompany ourselves... between kindness and music... I love you, take care of yourself... 💕”
Beautiful words...

On to the Voice: Provided first is my brief comment on the performance, and the location of the video; that is followed by what was said about it in Pure People (https://www.purepeople.com/article/the-voice-2020-les-ko-pascal-obispo-intransigeant-multiplie-les-piques_a385562/1)
1) LudySoa & Nathan sang "In my blood" of Shawn Mendes
Was ok duet, nothing really special. Not chosen.
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-ludysoa-and-nathan-chantent-in-my-blood-de-shawn-mendes-ko-81505534.html
------------------
LUDYSOA & NATHAN: IN MY BLOOD - SHAWN MENDES
Ludysoa (20) and Nathan (17), brother and sister from Madagascar, form the sunshine of the adventure. Young, with crazy energy, they represent major competitors, but are above all the little darlings of their coach. To try to stay in the competition, the siblings opted for the pop sound of Shawn Mendes, In My Blood. A piece dear to their hearts since it underlines their complicity and their infallible bond. Only problem, during the rehearsals, this is not at all what they brought out. Pascal Obispo accuses them of behaving like rivals. He then advises them to really play the card of emotion and the love they have for each other.
Once on stage, Ludysoa and Nathan let their hearts speak and offer a moving performance. Their duo definitely succeeds in bluffing the coaches in front of them, and more particularly Pascal Obispo of course: "Both of them from the start, they hooked me. That they make music together, that touches me deeply." Unfortunately, the artist immediately announces that he will not keep them for the rest of the adventure. "I think you still have things to work on. However, I would like to see you outside and maybe try to build something with you," he offers them.
------------------------------
2) Baby J sang "Bang Bang" of Cher
Outstanding, - very stylish, good singing, the highlight of the night. The only one that Pascal really reacted to while it was going on. Much better than her previous performances, when it wasn’t clear she really should have advanced. Pascal chose her.
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-baby-j-chante-bang-bang-de-cher-ko-59551133.html
--------------------
JOSÉPHINE: BANG BANG - NANCY SINATRA
Joséphine, alias Baby J, is impressive for her young age. Her vocal power and her crazy energy brought her to seduce Pascal Obispo, who, he admits, had a "crush" on her. For the knockouts, Joséphine chooses a daring song, Bang Bang by Nancy Sinatra, which she diverts into a much more rock version than the original. During rehearsals, her coach however notices one of her habits that he can no longer support: she touches her hair. "At some point, tie it up. It annoys me! " he blurted, really embarrassed by this craze. "Suddenly, we are no longer with the singer, we are with a girl who combs her hair.” The fact remains that Baby J has many qualities to win among the three semi-finalists of his team.
During her visit, she is very determined - and her hair tied - the young woman appears. Her re-reading of the mythical piece, as well as her scenic presence, are a real success. So much so that Pascal Obispo presses the buzzer to keep her well before the end of her performance. Once the last note has been pushed, he rushes to join her and take her in his arms."There are connections that are being made. She has made further progress. She is sexier, more posed, she is great," he comments.
------------------------------
3) Nessa sang "La Isla Bonita" of Madonna
More stylish than a really good singer, nice outfit and rhythm. Not chosen.
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-nessa-chante-la-isla-bonita-de-madonna-ko-44039785.html
---------------------------
NESSA: LA ISLA BONITA - MADONNA
Nessa is an atypical candidate. And for good reason, she is one of the Travelers (gypsies), a community that forbids her to sing. But, at 30, the pretty brunette is determined to advocate the freedom of women by appearing on stage. Which worked for her since she moved the coaches more than once. Tonight, Nessa decided to somehow tell her story through Madonna's cult hit , La Isla Bonita - the story of a girl who wants to get out of her daily life by exiling on an island. For Nessa, her escape is music. If Pascal Obispo recognizes her as having a certain strength and courage, he regrets that it remains in control."Control keeps you from being true and you feel it, so you're less affected" he believes."Stop looking good," he also addresses during rehearsals. A remark that annoys Nessa somewhat, who, however, intends to follow the instructions of her coach to the letter, who will be intransigent.
The young woman appears sublime in a traditional flamenco dress. It instantly sets the mood and makes the public stand up. Amel Bent also shows great enthusiasm for her performance and multiplies the signs of approval. But Pascal Obispo, he remains marble, very focused on each fact and gesture of her talent. "Since the start of the competition, Nessa has troubled me. And she has kept me until then because I really appreciate what she is," he explains at the end of her performance. But, because there is a but, the pretty brunette did not manage to let go as he would have liked. "When we manage to forget what we are doing and staying in the authenticity of your values, I think it would have been better for you tonight with me. It's a competition and I'm not going to keep you," he told her.
Nessa is eliminated by Pascal Obispo.
-----------------------------------
4) Abi sang "Another day in Paradise" of Phil Collins
More personality than vocal acumen, he did a nice enough job – Pascal chose him.
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-abi-chante-another-day-in-paradise-de-phil-collins-k-o-76412940.html
-------------------------
ABI: ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE - PHIL COLLINS
Abi, a young man of extraordinary sensitivity, immediately pleased the coaches with his sweetness and his angelic voice. He had also been unanimous during blind hearings. His grace had saved him again during the battles. But for the knockout test, Pascal Obispo expects him to go up a notch and reveals something other than this shy facet of his personality. "It's pretty but it doesn't give me enough," he explains facing the camera. And to add a layer of it in rehearsals: "There, you are looking for a little personal emotion. You are singing for yourself, sing for us!" Remarks that the 22-year-old young man fully understands, who "recognizes he lacks self-confidence.", he says.
The pressure is huge for Abi once he is behind his piano on stage. But his velvet stamp does the job and the magic happens. Throughout the song, Pascal Obispo has a smile on his face. Very moved, he did not resist the urge to buzz, thus arousing the happiness of the whole public, who offered a standing ovation to Abi. "You made me cry," he says of his talent.
Abi is saved by Pascal Obispo.
---------------------------
5) Hakob chante "Vivre pour le meilleur" de Johnny Hallyday
Definitely better than some of the others, a contender with some power, vocal and otherwise. Not chosen.
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-hakob-chante-vivre-pour-le-meilleur-de-johnny-hallyday-ko-47186659.html
--------------------------
HAKOB: LIVING FOR THE BEST - JOHNNY HALLYDAY
Hakob had been selected at the very last second by Pascal Obispo during the blind auditions. The young man of just 16 years old has nothing to envy the biggest voices in the song. With a baritone tone, he performed a hit by Lara Fabian. A daring choice that had borne fruit since it took him to knockouts.
For this new event, Hakob has once again drawn from the repertoire of illustrious singers since he appears on stage with a title from the late Johnny Hallyday, "Vivre pour le meilleur". His incredible vocal power naturally takes effect with coaches, literally struck. The youngest of the competition is definitely a real phenomenon. But Pascal Obispo has to make heartbreaking choices, and to separate from Hakob is one: "Compared to your young age, there are probably still a lot of things to do and to prove and win at home. You are missing a little bit of experience and experience to sing songs like that "
Hakob is eliminated by Pascal Obispo .
-------------------------
6) Verushka sang "Total eclipse of the heart" de Bonnie Tyler
A good performance, with some power, and, as Lara said, a good choice of song for her. One somehow expects her to be better than she has shown. Nevertheless, Pascal chose her (but see his remarks in the article below).
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-verushka-chante-total-eclipse-of-the-heart-de-bonnie-tyler-ko-46578610.html
-----------------------
VERUSHKA: TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART - BONNIE TYLER
Verushka, the performer with a strong personality and a particular voice, can do a lot and achieved a very intense performance during her blind audition, as well as in battles. She manages to convey emotion with great ease, which touches Pascal Obispo. The choice of her song is very personal. Verushka considers herself to be a person in need of affection since her family is far away. Through this new ordeal, she needs to reveal a new facet of her personality, softer and less rage.
Once on stage, it is clear that Verushka made the right choice of song. Just from start to finish, she gives power but also emotion. The bet is therefore largely successful. Verushka is applauded from all sides - the audience, the coaches and even her comrades behind the scenes. Pascal Obispo is obviously also seduced although he believes that she still needs to work. But, this work, he wishes to do with her until the end. So he presses the buzzer!
Verushka is saved by Pascal Obispo.
---------------------------
7) Owlite chante "Du côté de chez Swann" de Dave
Off-key singing…I had the feeling that the average person off the street could have sung as well, though he did perform o.k.
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-owlite-chante-du-cote-de-chez-swann-de-dave-ko-49874680.html
-----------------------
ANTOINE (OWLITE): Du Côté de Chez SWANN - DAVE
The situation is complicated for Pascal Obispo, who issued all his tickets for the semi-final. There remains however Antoine, for whom all is not completely lost. If he manages to stand out, the young man who calls himself Owlite could well change the mind of his coach on a previously saved talent. Owlite has also decided to take risks this evening by shedding his guitar and singing in French on the title Du Côté de Chez Swann by Dave. However, he chooses to interpret the version of Calogero, a little more rock. When you leave your comfort zone, it is double or nothing. If he is still a fan of the young man's particular voice, Pascal Obispo remains perplexed as to his choice.
Facing the coaches, Owlite gives everything to get his place in the semi-finals. He does the show and proves that he perfectly masters the song. The choice looks very difficult for Pascal Obispo. "You are a great artist and you are perhaps the one who took the most risks," he concedes. Unfortunately for Owlite, the adventure ended. Pascal Obispo does not want to keep him. "I want to apologize, you're a musician. I know you're going to continue," he tells her.
Owlite is eliminated by Pascal Obispo .
------------------------------
Pascal ended up with a decent enough team of three going forward, though they are not spectacular. An article about his choices appeared at (https://www.telestar.fr/tele-realite/the-voice/the-voice-2020-qui-sont-les-trois-talents-de-pascal-obispo-qualifies-pour-la-dem-505480); here’s the translation:
-----------------------
The Voice 2020: who are the three talents of Pascal Obispo qualified for the semi-final?
At the end of the knockouts this Saturday, April 25, Pascal Obispo selected three talents for the semi-final of The Voice 2020. Find out with whom the coach flies for the direct.
He was the last on the list. Saturday, April 25, 2020, Pascal Obispo brought his seven talents to face off on the stage of The Voice in order to select three for the semi-final. And the least we can say is that there was level! Indeed, Baby J, Acob, Verushka, Abi, Nessa, Owlite and Ludysoa and Nathan gave everything to be qualified by their coach. Thus, the first to have won her place is Baby J . By interpreting a rock version of Bang Bang by Nancy Sinatra, the young woman conquered Pascal Obispo after her visit. "She made a lot of progress (...) She sang softer, she was sexier (...) She is great" he declared. For their part, Nessa and the duo formed by brothers and sisters Ludysoa and Nathan were not selected by the coach.
Abi was luckier. Indeed, despite his doubts and his fear of not being up to par, the singer from 95 literally seduced his coach but also the public. His interpretation of Another Day in Paradise by Phil Collins even made Pascal Obispo cry. The latter did not hesitate to press the buzzer to take the singer to have him in the semifinals of The Voice. Finally, Versuhka was also selected after singing Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tayler. "Well done. You were beautiful. What a powerful voice you have. I would like us to manage to channel all of this, we will do it next time" swung Pascal Obispo, ending the suspense. It is therefore with Abi, Verushka and Baby J that he will fly to the direct.
The Voice 2020: the direct rejected
Note that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the semi-final and the final of The Voice 2020 are postponed and will not be held as expected at the Palais des sports. The last two episodes will therefore not be broadcast soon. No question of giving it up or recording the end of the program either. "The Voice must remain a great spectacle. The Voice requires a minimum of quality, we prefer to wait rather than offering a degraded program. (...) If we do not have the possibility of doing these two programs in May (...) we will postpone to a date when this will be possible." assured the production of ITV Studios in Paris.
--------------------------------
This last aspect was emphasized by Nikos, at
www.tf1.fr/tf1/the-voice/videos/the-voice-2020-quand-auront-lieu-les-directs-nikos-vous-repond-46792130.html
who thanked everyone concerned with the show but emphasizing that the live shows, which are the heart of the season, are impossible to hold at this time, but they will be held when it becomes possible. In the accompanying text it is written,
“As you know, The Voice shows are recorded. It is for this reason that you were able, despite the government measures implemented since March 15, to watch your favorite program every Saturday. However, as every year, the semi-finals and finals are live. Who says direct says public. To effectively fight the Covid-19, it is therefore impossible to offer these major live shows. The 2020 vintage was exceptional, the "The Voice" team is now already mobilized to present you an epilogue at the height of the season.”
This last issue of the knockouts allowed TF1 to be at the top of the audience for the evening of Saturday April 25, 2020 with 4.9 million viewers, or 19.3% of the public. The total number of people watching hem was only slightly lower than in the first week, although the percentage of the audience dropped from 25%.
Here are the semi-finalists with some personal comments about these teams:
Pascal Obispo : Joséphine, Abi and Verushka. Not the strongest team, even though Pascal seems to be the most rationale and straightforward coach. Josephine (Baby J) has emerged as a dark horse, Verushka has so far not lived up to what seems her potential. Perhaps it will happen. Abi is the weakest of the three. Best bet to go to the finals: Baby J.
Marc Lavoine : Antoine, Antony et Ifè. A pretty weak team. Antoine has a quite good tenor voice, the best of Marc’s group. Antony has a nice presence, a nice Marc-type voice, unlikely to go all the way but respectable. Ife has a good voice, but does more rapping than singing. Best bet to go to the finals: Antoine (though who knows, Ife seems to have more pulling power than he should).
Amel Bent : Toni, Terence et Tom. A strong team. Toni has a lot of energy and a good voice, she will have more success the more people look for a performer as opposed to a singer. Terrence has a nice tenor voice. Tom has quite a good voice, a wonderful presence, he’s a real star. Best bet to go to the finals: Tom and then Toni.
Lara Fabian : Cheyenne, Gustine et Maria. A good team, though it could have been better. Cheyenne has a wonderful voice, Gustine is quite creative; Maria has a nice enough voice but Margau would have had more star potential. As it stands, best bet to go to the finals: Cheyenne
The way it works now, there is no requirement that each of the coaches has a finalist, so my guess for the final four has no one from Mark’s team. It would be Tom, Cheyenne, Toni and Baby J. I think Tom will win – that is, if the finals are ever held.
Speaking of Margau…perhaps stung by the optics of her appearing to ‘dis’ Lara in her thanks to people last week after her exit, Margau made an effort to correct that impression. On the Facebook page for La Voix – Margau she posted the following: “Lara, what an honor to have been able to meet you for a few months. I wanted to thank you for your trust, support and advice. You will always be a role model to me and I really hope I get the chance to work with you and maybe even share the stage with you one day. Thank you for everything 🙏”. And with that came a photo of them hugging (which could rank as one of the interesting photos of the day).

Good recovery on her part. But she had a lot more to say at PureBreak.com (https://www.purebreak.com/news/margau-the-voice-2020-eliminee-face-a-maria-j-ai-ete-decue-par-la-facon-dont-ca-s-est-passe/194155?fbclid=IwAR1RQKPHpc6d-HU4Cqs02JZ25FgvnU4qdYo6gtsT-c_bkOjav3lX0kEAGGk); here’s the translation:
--------------------------------------
Margau (The Voice 2020) eliminated against Maria: "I was disappointed with the way it went"
Between Margau and Maria Doyle, Lara Fabian chose. Following the knockouts of The Voice 9 broadcast this Saturday, April 18, 2020, the coach finally decided to take the Irish singer to the semi-finals, to the detriment of the Canadian singer. In an interview for Purebreak, Margau returns to this elimination which she finds disappointing ...
Purebreak: Did you expect to win against Matteo during the battle?
Margau: No, I can't say I expected to win. I still had confidence seeing that I had already lived it in La Voix, in Quebec (note: she arrived at the quarter-finals of La Voix 5, as she explained in interview for Purebreak) so I knew a little what to expect for the battles but, at the same time, I told myself that it was a song that I did not know at the start, unlike Matteo who was lucky to know it before. So it shattered my confidence a little. I went on stage with him to give a great performance above all. The result was favorable for me but I was not sure to win, not at all.
Purebreak: Why did you choose "High Hopes" from 'Panic! at the disco' for The Voice knockouts?
Margau: It's a song that I really like, that I often hear on the radio, and each time I turn up the sound, I fell in love. Listening to the lyrics, I find that there is really a beautiful text behind. You don't always have what you want in life but you always have to go back. It shows my journey a little for The Voice because, before being chosen for the blind auditions, I tried my luck at least 4 times and, each year, it did not work but each year, I returned there. This year, I went back despite the many hesitations that I had, and finally, the year when I hesitated the most, I was chosen. So it represented my journey well. And then I also found that it gave another facet to my voice and my personality because, until now, I had only done ballads, softer songs. I wanted to make a song more vocal, more rhythmic.
"It was logical that Lara Fabien listens to Maria but it adds an additional stress of not knowing”
Purebreak: How did you feel when Lara said she preferred to see the last talent before giving you an answer?
Margau: For me, in my head, it made sense. It would have been a shame if Maria sang, knowing directly that there was no room for her. For me it was logical, I was not completely surprised. When I was awarded 6th place [in the order of performers], it is not the rank that I would have liked to have, but hey, it was not me who chose ... It was logical that she listens to Maria but that adds the added stress of not knowing.
Purebreak: Were you disappointed that she chose Maria?
Margau: Oh well yes, I will not hide it, it was a big disappointment. It is not so much the fact of not passing, because I knew that one day or the other, the adventure would end for me, it is more the way it happened that I found disappointing, but we can't control that, it could have happened to anyone and it fell on me.
“What I didn't understand is how it went”
Purebreak: Did you understand her decision not to keep you?
Margau: Yes and no. I understood that in any case, Maria is an extraordinary person, inspiring and everything, but what I did not understand is how it went. From the beginning, we see that the coach makes 4 buzzes and must then choose 3 talents among the 4, while there, it was only played between Maria and me. So that I did not understand.
Purebreak: Do you regret not having chosen another coach?
Margau: I cannot say that I regret because I could not have known that it would have happened like that. I had a good time with Lara, I had some beautiful meetings, we had a lot of crazy laughs all the talents together and Lara is a singer that I have always admired technically, it was really an honor to be able work with her. I didn't really know the other coaches. I knew Amel Bent a little, but not enough to tell me that I would go with her more than with Lara. That's why, during the blind auditions, my choice was really justified in my head, but if I replay the blind auditions tomorrow morning, maybe it would be different because, now, I can say that I know them a little more, but it's not a regret. On the contrary, I was very happy to have been with her.
Purebreak: Amel Bent said you were The Voice for her, it's a nice compliment!
Margau: Every time I went by, she gave me great compliments. That's why I tell myself that it might have been a good choice too, but like I said, I couldn't predict in advance.
“For me, Cheyenne is going to the final. I would even see her win The Voice!”
Purebreak: What do you think of her choice to keep Cheyenne, Gustine and Maria?
Margau: For me, Cheyenne, from the start, it was she who goes to the semi-finals and the final. I would even see her win The Voice. She’s completely my style of singer, my style of song that she sings. She is also a person I greatly admire. We were together in the hotel room, we were roommates for a few weeks and she is an incredible person, I love her and she became my friend today so I am really happy for her. When I was eliminated, I think she was as sad as I was, she was crying and I was the one who had to console her (laughs). Gustine is a complete artist, she has her style, she is a musician. For me, she also has chances to win The Voice. I know her a little less than Cheyenne but she is a very very nice person. And then Maria, she is such an inspiring person, she is a great artist and I love her very much.
Purebreak: Who is The Voice for you this year?
Margau: It's a good question ... I have several favorites but, for me, I would say Terrence, in the team of Amel Bent. He has a great voice and I think he really deserves it.
Purebreak: What are you waiting for?
Margau: Before The Voice, I already had a music contract with a record company in Quebec. With The Voice, we put it on pause. Now, we will quietly start working on the album. We are going to try to find a niche, to know what my style of songs really is so that it is clear because now, at the moment, it seems that I try to sing everything. I don't have a specific style of mine, so we're really going to work on it to find that. And then I hope to be able to return to France to do concerts and reconnect with the French public.
-------------------------------
Clearly Lara’s not choosing Margau (for what appear to be emotional reasons, as Lara herself implied) is recognized as controversial, hence the articles about it. Margau now thinks she would have been better off with Amel as her coach...but then she wouldn’t have gotten to meet Cheyenne. And...this starts to become a bit off topic...but on that same Facebook site, there is this from Margau...
“Our cover is finally online !!!! You may have noticed that Cheyenne and I developed a great bond during the filming of The Voice! So we decided to record for you a song that we really appreciate!
Good listening“
youtu.be/m0dykNyqyU4
Check it out - they are sensational together on a very hard song, “Fall in Line” of Christina Aguilera (ft. Demie Lovato cover). Actually, this shows how similar their voices are. It would be very entertaining if they can continue to work together.
Interesting photo(s) of the week: Lara’s own photo from her new video, the epitome of her relationship with her fans…
The review of the different teams posted above is meant to provide a scorecard reminder for whenever in the future The Voice resumes. Otherwise, starting next week there will likely be a scarcity of news concerning Lara (though as this week indicates, one can never really be sure about that). France is still in the middle of the lockdown, as is Quebec. We can expect Lara to post some encouraging messages of togetherness and hope from her home, words and song that are always very much appreciated. Stay well everybody.
