With less than one week to go before the start of Lara’s “50 World Tour” one would think that would be the only subject of concern this past week, but that wasn’t the case. There was some tour information, however, so we’ll start with that.

And, in a more action oriented scene, Daphnée Charron provided the following picture on Instagram (thanks to the Lara Fabian Bien Plus Qu’une Passion – Corse Reunion FB site for the photo):

— with Lara Fabian, Les Soeurs Riverin and Joël Legendre.”
We’ve heard about the Riverin Sisters before…apparently they all have professions outside of just working for Lara (one works for La Voix), and given the concert schedule, they will be getting to go home every two weeks to fulfill those obligations (as would Lara with her family obligations – except that now she’ll also have to spend time in France for ‘The Voice’).
The latest count for the tour sites, via the Lara Fabian Bien Plus qu’une Passion: Corse Reunion FB site, is 46 venues (
U.S.:4; Asia (Russia, Belarus, Ukraine): 12; Eastern Europe/western Asia: 8; Mediterranean: 2; France, Belgium and Switzerland: 17; Canada: 3
Lara has mentioned shows in London, Rome, and Turkey, among others, that so far do not appear, thus more may be added. In fact, missing is all of western Europe that is not Francophone: England, Holland, Germany Italy, Spain as well as the Scandinavian countries. It’s perhaps at least an even bet that some of these may be included. What is almost certain not to be included are the areas of the world that would truly make it a world tour: most of Asia, South America, Australia and Africa. Lara does have fans in the these, and they conceivably could be visited in one form or another if she really wanted to. One would have to say, if it doesn’t happen for this tour, with all its inherent symbolism, it’s less likely to happen for any other.
Last week, the big news was that Lara was joining “The Voice – la plus belle voix”, the French version of the Quebec show La Voix she had been on for the past two years. A short video introducing the four new coaches of that show can be seen at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jqcuMqIWcM
Amel Bent, one of Lara’s fellow new judges on the show, was interviewed by ‘tele jours 7.fr’ about moving from the show The Voice Kids to the adult version, and also about her relationship with the other judges (thanks to the Lara Fabian web FB page for the scan). She had this to say about Lara: “Waouh! It is a happiness and an honor to sit beside one of the most beautiful voices. She is so sweet and has a voice so powerful. We know each other well. She’s invited me on stage many times. I am impressed like a child each time. I love her.” One occasion you may remember was Lara’s Valentine’s Day “Concert for Lebanon" in 2012; the video can be seen at www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VJg9GqXsOM.
When it was announced that Lara couldn’t fit “La Voix” into her schedule because of her tour, there was always the hope that she might rejoin it the following year. However, it turns out that won’t be the case. TVA has announced that 2020 will be the last year of “La Voix”, which will be replaced in 2021 by a return of “Star Academie”. Here’s a (translated) article about that (http://99scenes.com/tva-annonce-que-la-voix-terminera-apres-la-prochaine-saison-et-que-star-academie-reviendra-des-2021/):
------------------------------------
TVA ANNOUNCES THAT LA VOIX WILL END AFTER THE NEXT SEASON AND THAT STAR ACADÉMIE WILL COME BACK IN 2021
The flagship show of the 2000s for a majority of Quebecers will be back on our screens in the winter of 2021. Indeed, La Voix will take a break to make room for the return of Star Academy.
TVA confirmed the news earlier today in a statement. Following an agreement with Endemol producer Shine North America, the North American division of Endemol Shine Group, it has been finalized. This producer is also the one who holds all the rights of Star Académie abroad.
Thus, the Academy, which appeared on our TV screens for the first time in 2003, will make a big comeback. The concept presented, in the form of reality television, the journey of a group of performers remaining together and cut off from the world. Then, each week, the show brought together a large number of Quebecers every Sunday evening to present a large-scale show.
Through the years (2003, 2004, 2005, 2009 and 2012), several international artists have walked Sunday night's stage, accompanying ’Academicians” such as Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, Lionel Richie and Samantha Fox. The show has made known several artists who today have very good careers, like Marie-Elaine Thibert, Brigitte Boisjoli, Annie Villeneuve, Etienne Drapeau, Marie-Mai, Émily Bégin, Véronique Claveau, Andréanne A. Malette, Olivier Dion or Wilfred Le Bouthillier.
In a statement, Tania Jacobson, Vice President of Canadian Sales at Endemol, said the concept from previous years would be adapted to the new generation in which we find ourselves: "We are happy to be associated again with TVA for the return of Star Academy. This program was a resounding success in Quebec and we are working with TVA to offer a concept that is stronger than ever before for Quebec viewers."
Suzanne Landry, TVA's Senior Director, Channels and Programming, explained that they want to continue offering large TV shows for Quebeckers: "By offering this show that has marked Quebec, TVA is continuing its commitment to offer a showcase of choice to discover the local talents, first to the public, but also to the entire industry."
We remember that last June, QMI Agency announced that La Voix would take a break season in 2021 to make way for a new season of Star Academy, on TVA. The 8th season of La Voix, in the winter of 2020, could therefore be the last of the show.
--------------------------------------------
Lara has had various appearances on The Star Academy in France performing duets with young singers (e.g., www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgB9Rg94CQo; www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgvAhx2YXs4). Ironically, the Star Academy in France on TF1 was cancelled in 2012 to make room for “The Voice: la plus belle voix.” Although Lara’s ‘jumping ship’ from the Quebec to the French version of The Voice was ascribed to her touring schedule, it’s likely that Lara knew of this eventuality (since it was known in June), and it may have played a role. By the way, the fact that Lara could find time for The Voice in France but not in Quebec was not missed by some in La Belle Province…there were some responses to articles discussing it that were decidedly not happy.
As to the judges who will be on the 2020 La Voix, it turns out that Alex is also leaving (he’s finishing an album, and wants to focus on his music; www.journaldemontreal.com/2019/09/03/alex-nevsky-ne-sera-pas-de-retour-a-la-voix-1), and so the four judges will be Eri Lapointe, Mark Dupre, Garou (who is back) and Cœur de pirate (Beatrice Martin). See the article about her at (https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2019/09/04/cur-de-pirate-coach-a-la-voix).
In another ironical situation, Lara was involved with La Voix this past week. She, along with Gabriel, were at the St. Denis theater for a show dedicated to the La Voix Experience, which tours around showing people ‘behind the scenes’ aspects. Lara left a picture of herself there on her Instagram account at:
with the caption, “Tonight I'm at Théâtre St-Denis to witness with immense pride the show La Voix Expérience”. Additional photos, of Lara with Gabriel, can be found at:
to which Lara added the comment, “Another huge thank you to all the wonderful talents of La Voix Experience! What a beautiful moment!”
Additional photos of them on the red carpet and the theater, can be seen at:

And an article describing them their presence can be found at (https://www.envedette.ca/potins-stars-quebec/musique/lara-fabian-est-sublime-avec-son-mari-sur-le-tapis-rouge-de-la-voix-experience-1.9914322?fbclid=IwAR0pPv2xiZUJem5ugro-0pGU-c02PH9vijTyji0pmPgEMkKefNkCMwcyTa0); here’s the translation:

Changing of the Décor at Lara Fabian’s House
It is with great pleasure that our collaborator decorates the terrace of Lara Fabian, in harmony with the style of the house. The singer will find there an ideal place to re-enact with family.
[Shown are before and after pictures of the terrace, now with a nice overhang, dark wood, a tables, bench and pillows].
The Terrace of Lara Fabian. It is by moving towards a modern classic style that Lara began to renovate her house several months ago. The singer loves black-and-white decors that have character, as long as they are focused and easy to maintain, since her tours take her to travel all over the world. So I created a little cocoon of love outside, in harmony with the interior of the house. This results in a court in her image, which unveils simplicity and refinement.
A Modern Classical Style. To respect the soul and the English style of the house, a mid-classical, mid-modern ambiance has been adopted. The architecture and the environment of the house remain classic, but I played the card of modernity with the furniture. To give the impression of being inside, we have built a wall that hides the old fence. The warmth of the wood texture compensates for the minimalist and modern appearance of concrete flooring. The black walls give character and depth to the space, in addition to creating contrasts. While they provide more privacy, they sift the light. That's why we have left the fencing on the side of the street and added lighting.
Sheltered from the sun. Lara, who is sensitive to the sun, was really happy to discover the retractable awning attached to the garage. Made to measure, it covers the living room dining area 12 feet deep. It is of an impressive elegance and created outside an intimate room surrounded by mature trees that surround the courtyard. This black awning is easy to maintain and will remain beautiful for a long time. Finally, thanks to a built-in rain gutter, the canvas also protects from the rain.
A corner to compose. More and more, Lara enjoys working and composing in the comfort of her home. A little behind, the straw chair is perfect for relaxing or writing new songs. On the existing fence, the garland of small lights creates a fairy atmosphere that will please her daughter, Lou.
The Kayla corner. The little zen path leads to the greenery corner specially designed for the family dog, Kayla. Unlike Japanese steps, I had the idea to integrate green pavement paving. The pots of confectioners create a majestic entrance while providing a little privacy for their beloved little dog. At the bottom of this space, we built a wooden wall to hide the heat pump, using openwork panels covered with artificial boxwood. The result is design while ensuring good air circulation.
A European touch. Three times larger than before, the western cedar roof and black aluminum brings a European touch to the house. Lara had the courage to get into the scaffold to finish installing it with her entrepreneur. We were very proud of her. The use of the barbecue, now out of the rain, will be more pleasant. To give depth to all and hide the inside of the garage, I ordered mirrors that we installed behind the windows. The checkered mirrors give a glazed style very popular in Europe.
Passion plants. Lara has a passion for succulents, as they are pretty and easy to maintain. While chatting and relaxing. Lara and I transplanted some plants into different concrete pots. Filled with natural plants and shrubs, the terrace is alive and inspiring!
Furniture sheltered from the weather. Faded white teak consoles heat up the atmosphere with their natural hue. For the protection of the weather, we covered them with porcelain inspired by Mediterranean motifs. This service table will be practical, since hot dishes can be placed there.
During the unveiling, her husband, Gabriel, exclaimed "Spendido!" Delighted by all the details of the transformation, Lara breathed happiness. Before the choice of the materials, the colors of the furniture, the accessories and the numerous candles that she likes so much, she had full view!
---------------------------------
This was likely more than you wanted to know about Lara’s new terrace – it helps to see the pictures shown in the article - but the point is, she is less likely to want to leave, having just finished this house modification to her liking (and as noted at the end, Lara was involved in all the color/style choices). Lara has said she’s always restless to move, or at least change her house, so maybe this is in lieu of moving.
Still in the ‘Quebec” theme, Lara posted some pictures of herself with some fans whom she met
along with her caption, “When my Quebec fans recognize me and tell me their joy ... It's me who takes pictures to immortalize a moment among those beautiful moments that I live with and thanks to you for 30 years .... I love you.”
In other (Quebec) news, Lara went out for dinner, and her experience was worth the following picture on her Instagram site,
with the caption, “Memorable evening in Old Montreal with my friend @martinrouleau to meet Chef Antonio @lemuscadin restaurant ... what a joy!” Some additional photos can be found at

Interesting photo(s) of the week: Lara with Maripier Morin, who is a Quebecois television host and journalist
with Lara’s caption, “On the set of the marvelous @maripiermorin!” According to the “Lara Fabian Bien Plus Q’une Passion: Corse-Reunion” FB site, Lara will be among the guests of the new show of Maripier Morin, "Studio G" which will be broadcast on TVA around September 22nd.
And from that site, a beautiful picture of Lara
