Now that Lara has left Sicily one can imagine that she will become more active, though it might not necessarily be public, for example, if anything still needs to be done with the new album. One can speculate she might also spend some time in Belgium with her parents. Eventually we will hear about La Voix, and that announcement will probably will set the other timings in motion, e.g., the new album release date and subsequent concert tour. This and other songs by the Belgian-Canadian artist and composer have been part of the international soundtracks of Brazilian serials for years. In addition to Family Ties, Lara had songs in Destination Lady (I Guess I Loved You), The Color of Sin (The Last Goodbye) and Clone (Meu grande amor). Also because of this, the singer is well known in Brazil and, after 17 years without stepping on Tupiniquins lands, she disembarks in September to appear on the 28th, at the Espaço das Américas in São Paulo .

Lara Fabian arrives in the country with the tour of the most recent album, the album Camouflage, released last year and which consists of 12 tracks, all recorded in English. However, she guarantees that all the successes that have become known in Brazil will be part of the show. "All the hits from old albums will be on the show and I made changes to the show to include songs that are known to my Brazilian fans, who expect me to sing them. They will not be disappointed. It will be a very special show”, she says.
In the trajectory of pop music 30 years ago, over the years, the singer was influenced by other genres, such as electronic music, which is present on the new album. "Every period has its sonority. As an artist, I continue to write and introduce myself, living the moment and not getting stuck in the past. But, of course, everything keeping my truth and without losing my identity”, she adds.
Even so, Lara Fabian never left aside the "romantic" vein, which she prefers to define as "love songs and relationships". "What subject matter is more important than love in all its form? I have several songs from other subjects as well, but most of my successes are about love, if that's the audience's choice, there's a reason. Love is the most important thing in our lives”, she says.

You are going to do a show in São Paulo. What is it like to go back to Brazil, a place where your songs were so successful?
LF: You can not imagine how excited I am to go to Brazil, after all these years. This will be the first time I will go with a show. All of my previous visits were to broadcast on television shows or promote my albums. But this time, I'm going to meet my fans and do a performance for them. This will be a very special moment for me.
Love by grace is a song that made history in Brazil on account of Family Ties. Did you have the opportunity to watch Camila's famous scene?
LF: Of course I watched. I am very lucky that the producers of the soap opera have chosen it, this has allowed many Brazilians to discover my music and me. Therefore, this song has a special meaning. I have 18 years that I do not play this song live, so it will be a special moment in São Paulo and I am very anxious to share.
You have 30 years of career and one can see that Camouflage is an album very influenced by electronic music. What is the influence of these new sounds on your work?
LF: We evolve through time and our artistic and personal experiences. The music has evolved too, so the recognition immediately when a song plays is from the 1970s and 1980s or even the 1990s. Each period has its own sound. As an artist, I keep writing and performing songs all these years, I live the time, I'm not someone who is stuck in the past. Of course, but always remaining faithful and without losing the artistic identity, which allows me to connect with the public. So, my new songs carry the modernity of the current sound, but remain true to my musical identity. Otherwise, I would simply become a nostalgic singer, no longer relevant. In Brazil, you have several artists who have evolved over time presenting modern music and remaining faithful to the origins, just like me.
Last year, you joined the team of technicians of La Voix Canada. How was this experience?
LF: loved it. I love the experience of passing on to the next generation some of the things I've learned over the past 30 years. There's a lot of talent out there. And if I can, in an honest and constructive way, give a little advice to these people, that makes me happy.

Unlike the previous article, this one notes that Lara has had a number of her songs used on Brazilian soap operas, which helps further in accounting for her popularity in the country. While she said she would “include the songs that were known to her Brazilian fans”, it’s likely that not all of those will be in the setlist. But singing Love By Grace could be a hallucinogenic experience for her – and it raises the question of where has it been the last 18 years?!

They indicated they want to play not only the ‘hits’ but also songs that are heard less often, as was the case.

Both Miriam and Felix from Lara’s team were among those who appeared to share their La Voix experience. Again, there has been no announcement of the judges/coaches for next season, but there is a new director, Jean-François Blais. Now that Lara has left Sicily one can imagine that she will become more active, though it might not necessarily be public, for example, if anything still needs to be done with the new album. One can speculate she might also spend some time in Belgium with her parents. Eventually we will hear about La Voix, and that announcement will probably will set the other timings in motion, e.g., the new album release date and subsequent concert tour. We’ll see if the second half of the summer has more to report than the first half did.
