Another week, another week of vacation for Lara, and, at least publicly, her Team and most fan sites. Lara did post another picture from Sicily on Instagram,
with the caption, “My favorite pizza at “7+” in Catania.” Known for its “traditional pizza”, this place is ranked in the top 20% of restaurants in Catania (second largest city in Sicily) (https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g187888-d10344835-r462730178-7_Catania-Catania_Province_of_Catania_Sicily.html).
And another week, another opportunity for Lara to celebrate the day for a ‘home country’ (remember the one for Quebec, earlier this month). Lara did that also on her Instagram account, at:
with the caption, “Good national holiday to all Belgians”. Though we covered this last year, we’ll briefly summarize its meaning (from Wikipedia):
-----------------------------------------------------
“The festival's formal establishment dates to a law of 27 May 1890 and commemorates an event on 21 July 1831 in which Leopold of Saxe-Cobourg swore allegiance to the new Belgian constitution, thus becoming the nation's first monarch. The king's vow marked the start of the independent state of Belgium under a constitutional monarchy and parliament.
In 1830, drawing inspiration from the recent July Revolution in France, the southern provinces of the United Netherlands rebelled against Dutch rule after a period of growing economic, religious, and political alienation. After some fighting in August-September 1830, the Dutch were forced out of much of the region and Belgium gained de facto independence. A National Congress was created to write a Constitution for the new state.
The Congress decided that the new country would be a constitutional monarchy (associated with political stability) rather than a republic, in order to reassure foreign governments and the Belgian middle class who associated republicanism with "mob rule" in the aftermath of the French Revolution of 1789. The Congress called upon Leopold of Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha, a German nobleman, to be the first King of the Belgians on 4 June 1831.
Accepting the invitation, Leopold traveled from England to Brussels. On 21 July, Leopold swore allegiance to the Constitution drawn up by the National Congress, officially bringing it into force and acceded to the throne.
-----------------------------------------------------
Note that this day explicitly commemorates the Flemish victory in splitting away from the “United Kingdom of the Netherlands”. But what about the French? They have their own ‘national holiday’, established in 1975, called “French Community Day”, which is celebrated on September 27th. This is to honor the victory of the French speaking Belgians over the Dutch army. And not to be outdone, there is a “Flemish Community Holiday” on July 11, which celebrates the victory of Dutch speaking Belgians over the French army in 1302. This history provides more depth to Lara’s comment, “Good national holiday to ALL Belgians.”

Lara, who is a guest on the program which was taped in the spring, appears a number of times in the short clip. It will be shown in the Fall, no date yet specified.
La Voix Returns Next Year
After leaving the mystery of its return, during the grand finale that was broadcast on May 6, TVA confirms that La Voix will resume service on its air, next winter.
Indeed, the network has reached an agreement with the Dutch production company Talpa, to whom we owe the format of La Voix , which will allow the public to return to the popular contest for a seventh season, in its Quebec version.
Interest
"It is always with great interest that we look at each of The Voice's adaptations , particularly the Quebec version, which has been gaining incredibly high market shares for years," said Annelies Noest, Director of International Sales and Distribution of Talpa, by way of press release. We are happy to renew our collaboration with TVA and continue this great musical adventure with Quebec. "
For the moment, TVA can not confirm the return of host Charles Lafortune at the podium of the show, since no agreement has yet been reached between the two parties.
La Voix , produced by Surprising Productions, averaged more than 2 million viewers every Sunday in the sixth season.
This season, Yama Laurent (Garou team) was crowned in the final.
----------------------------------------------------
And, indeed, it was announced that the ‘pre-auditions’ for La Voix 7 are being held in Montreal and then Quebec City, during the first three weeks in August (http://tva.canoe.ca/emissions/lavoix/nouvelle/la-voix-7-coup-denvoi-des-preauditions-le-3-aout?backlinkurl=/emissions/lavoix/&backlinklabel=Ergbhe+%C3%A0+y%27npphrvy). If they haven’t even reached agreement with the host, it’s probably no surprise that they haven’t yet announced the judges – except these are performers, who, as in Lara’s case, may well have concert conflicts, and might thus become unavailable. In Lara’s case, since no concerts for the new album have been announced, putting two and two together one would surmise that either they are waiting for La Voix’s decision, or they have been led to expect that she will be asked (and would agree).
In that respect…an interesting exchange occurred on the “Lara Fabian – PHQ site. They posted the following picture:
www.facebook.com/larafabianphq/photos/rpp.353946178085395/1472082169605118/?type=3&theater
indicating Lara’s album would come out in 2019. When people wrote in and saying it would be released in the fall of 2018 (11/16 to be precise), here was their (translated) response:
Lara Fabian – PHQ: “No. It will be released rather in early January. With a first single after the summer. She participates in La Voix again, her ‘agenda’ has been modified.”
Take that as you will – nothing is ‘official’ until Lara or her Team says it is, but the relaxed schedule this summer, and the lack of news concerning a tour, makes this seem very credible. The tour might then even start after La Voix is finished, in May (though that would be cutting it close to the summer holidays).
Interesting photo of the week: Lara posted one more photo on Instagram: in her continual search for ‘honesty’ in interacting with her fans, she occasionally appears without any makeup – as in this latest picture:
with the caption, “Good week to all and everyone.”
More power to her – one reason why Lara’s fans love her so sincerely…
The summer is moving inexorably onward, and time is getting closer to when some announcements are likely to be made about the new French album release and any associated singles (not to mention concerts). But the holiday/vacation air that Lara is emphasizing is perhaps a way of telling people not to expect anything soon. It might well be that when information is provided – about the album, La Voix, tours – it will come all at once. But maybe not for awhile…

Clearly TVA is still featuring her, which might imply they would want her back for next season’s show. Nothing of that nature has so far been announced, but things are ramping up. Although it is no great surprise, an article announcing the return of the show appeared in the Journal of Montreal (https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2018/05/22/la-voix-revient-lan-prochain); here’s the translation:
