A very slow week publicly for Lara, following her whirl-a-wind activities previously. However, there was some news concerning the upcoming French album, which is becoming more and more of a reality. There are indications that it is already ‘ready’, with rumors being that it was recorded on her home studio, perhaps in just a few weeks. None of this has been substantiated, and Lara’s recent comment seemed to raise some doubts as to whether it would really appear this fall (she added “or winter” when asked). However, what is not a rumor is that Odacity released the following statement:
-------------------------------------------------------------
If you remember, the early-listening sessions for ‘Camouflage’ were announced later in April, 2017 and began shortly thereafter, in early May. The album itself was released in early October, five months later. We’re currently running about a month behind that seasonal schedule for this album, so if all else stayed the same, one could expect the album in November, or at least before the Christmas holidays. Again, if precedent holds, the results from the early-listening sessions were not used to choose the songs that would be on the album, but to influence the choice of single releases, and perhaps tracklist.
Reflecting back on ‘Camouflage’, a lot was made of the writers Lara would be working with, the locations of the recording, etc. None of that has happened publicly with this album, which has had a sort of ‘stealth’ production (and thus perhaps it’s true that it was recorded in Lara’s own studio). As Lara likes to work with other writers, one assumption is that they are the same people who worked with her on ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ (which also had a November release), i.e., David Gategno and Elodie Hesme. [The romantic in us would like to imagine that Rick Allison could have been involved; if so, that would be a great surprise!].
If it does appear this fall, another question is whether Lara will include anything from it in her fall concerts in Montreal and Quebec. She indicated that these would contain material from her previous time in Quebec, including songs that she hasn’t sung often since then (e.g., “Tu t’en vas” being a likely candidate). That doesn’t rule out new material – and it would be a great advertisement for the new album were she to do it – but the odds are probably against it, except perhaps if a single has already been released. [And if it were following the schedule for ‘Camouflage’, that would be in June]. She generally beings performing her new songs live in the course of a well-planned, and rehearsed, tour, that follows a few months or more after an album’s release.
So with a fall, or even early winter release, that would seem to place a tour most likely in the spring of 2019, and that timing has been mentioned informally. But it raises an interesting dilemma – what if Lara is asked back for the next season of “La Voix”? Wouldn’t this present the same scheduling conflict she just dealt with, having to travel, perhaps extensively in France and Belgium, while the show is being recorded? The schedule she is on, recording-wise, seems less than optimum for being a judge on La Voix…
[And Odacity indicated that it is still undecided whether Musicor will be the licensing agent for Lara’s French album in Quebec. If she is again part of “La Voix”, it would be odd for them not to be, having done so for the English album. Perhaps that whole path is “in spin”… we’ll see how it plays out…].
From the future to the past…some additional material arrived from Lara’s concerts last week, including some new videos, linked to below:

The highlight is the wonderful ‘complete’ concert (of the songs), which is taken from a variety of angles. Surely a video to treasure, especially if there is no actual recorded DVD from the show.

Lara Fabian @ P. Faliro Olympic Complex - Review
There are artists who have fanatic audiences and big fan clubs. There are other artists who have some well-known songs/hits that lure audiences to their shows. And there is Lara Fabian. A unique artist that can move you, charm you and make you travel with her extraordinary voice. A voice that climbs to heights that make you dizzy, comes down with ease and smoothness and all these accompanied by feeling. The audience’s standing ovation at the end of the concert was the living proof of the success of the show.
Lara Fabian started the show with songs from her latest album (“Camouflage”), which with their up-tempo, dancing rhythm warmed the audience. She greeted and thanked the audience in Greek, sang in English and French, played European and American pop, had songs with emotional and powerful moments and a two-way love connection with the audience. In some occasions, the audience was so loud and continuous that Lara Fabian was so moved she had to wait to stop, so she could continue. The audience enjoyed every moment of the show, but it really glorified her and did not stop applauding during the songs they loved from her, with “Je t’aime”, “Pas sans toi” and the incredible “Je suis malade”, which were the top moments of the concert.
The artist may say “what makes us human is perfect imperfection”, but I do not think there was anything imperfect in her performance. An astonishing voice, that even when she performed sitting on a chair, you could feel it coming out of the depths of her soul and could reach any height Lara Fabian liked. A very nice and emotional moment took place during “Je t’aime”, when a crying young woman with the help of her mother approached the stage and handed the singer a bouquet of flowers. Elegant lyrics, beautiful melodies, songs full of emotions and love and all these with crystal clear sound and incredible video shows.
An excellent production, that’s not only good for last year [when it was rained out], but in my opinion satisfied every guest of the concert. Lara Fabian is an artist with an extraordinary voice, emotion and ability to carry your mind and soul away. Carry you away even if you do not know her songs or even the language. And this is the greatest accomplishment of Lara Fabian.
-------------------------------------------------------
Couldn’t get better than that! Another one that Lara should save, if she had a mind to do things like that.
In the ‘more rumors’ department, Marco Duplessis on the LFIAG Select site noted an interaction between Lara and The Voice of Bulgaria

POLLY GENOVA'S TEAM MET WITH LARA FABIAN
MILLYZAR
thank you endlessly for the experience !!!! Lara is my favorite singer and I am at every concert of hers! Even after the concert there was information that she was likely to be a guest for the final in Bulgaria! I really hope the producers can get it! I watched the whole season of La Voix of Quebec. and as a coach she is unique! Once again thank you!
-----------------------------------------------------
We’ll see if that happens…

One more ‘rumor’, and in, very roughly, the same part of the world: there is an interesting video on youtube, at www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8kVlrj7zNw. It is of what is possibly Lara singing an Armenian song, and carries Monday’s date. The one write-in comment accompanying it says “It’s not Lara Fabian, of course”, and the video is sufficiently blurred that that may certainly be the case. Make of it what you will…
Tomorrow the recording of the show “"Tout le monde aime Lara Fabian" (TVA / Québec, Canada) with Sonia Benezra will take place. An article concerning it can be found at (https://www.publiccible.com/Emission/TOUTLEMONDEAIME), translated below:

Lara is still some 12 days away from her concert at Forest National in Belgium. One wonders how it will feel to be singing mostly English songs in that environment, or, worse yet, Paris one week later (after two performances in Prague). Of course, Lara did do that following the release of her first English album, but that was many years ago. It will be interesting to see the reaction of the audiences there, and that of Lara herself. Meanwhile, she is still living the Quebecoise life, where she is the ‘toast of the town’, and the focus of the coming “Everybody Loves” program. Hopefully that will be true everywhere…
