A number of items vie for the lead in this week’s news. For one, Lara had a unique experience, meeting the King and Queen of Belgium. The event is covered in many videos on youtube, for example, at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWkUAaq9yZs
Here’s the discussion: “Lara Fabian applauded by King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium. Stopover point in song of the visit of state of the Belgian monarchs to Canada. Profiting from a pause in her international tour, Lara Fabian was back in Canada these last days. Friday, March 16, 2018, she who is the coach of the Quebecoise version of The Voice gave a private concert at the Rialto Theater in Montreal for a quite particular occasion, the visit of state of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium. Remember that if Lara Fabian's career owes a lot to French-speaking Canada, the artist was born in Etterbeek in the Brussels metropolitan area. So it was not just a concert for Lara Fabian who, for the occasion, was performing alongside another Belgian artist, Alice on the Roof. After the show, the two singers were visited by King Philippe and Queen Mathilde. They were warmly congratulated before taking the step for a portrait that immortalized, suddenly, a great moment of their respective careers. After this quite particular parenthesis, Lara Fabian can retake the course of her tour which is expected June 16, 2018 at the Zenith in Paris. “
The rest of the video concerns details of the royal couple’s visit in Canada.
There is a video of Lara singing the climatic portion of “Je suis malade” in concert for them (thanks to the LaraFabianBienPlusQuunePassionCorseReunion site) at:
www.facebook.com/LaraFabianBienPlusQuunePassionCorseReunion/videos/804338579760320/
That was at the close of the concert.
Lara added three photos of the visit on her FB page,
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/pcb.1970152076359613/1970148903026597/?type=3&theater
but surprisingly the official portrait (which you could see in the video) was not one of them. The Lara Fabian Greece site posted many more, among which the official portrait can be found at

Queen Mathilde met Lara Fabian
ROYAL Sovereigns participated in a seven-day state visit to Canada.
Queen Mathilde and Prince Philippe are back in Belgium after a week in Canada. The rulers had a busy schedule: official meetings, commemorations of the First World War, business meetings and academic activities in Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal.
The week was also punctuated by lighter appointments. The queen was able to greet her niece, Luisa Maria, the daughter of Princess Astrid, a student in Quebec.
The royal mission ended with a concert by Belgian artists Lara Fabian and Alice on the Roof.
-------------------------------------------------
And there was also a similar article from Pure People with many photos, at (http://www.purepeople.com/article/lara-fabian-applaudie-par-le-roi-philippe-et-la-reine-mathilde-de-belgique_a278296/1)
Although it was not mentioned in the articles, one wonders what the King and Queen think about Lara, the pride and joy of Belgium, now appearing to live (again) in Quebec. Do they think it’s only temporary, that she’s just there for La Voix? Do they know that one of things she has said she likes about being there is that it is ‘safe’?
In other news of notable importance: while it was indicated several weeks ago, Lara's concerts in Brazil are now official, as Lara posted a picture of herself with the Brazilian flag, at
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803.1073741829.201065806601591/1973680632673424/?type=3&theater
with the caption, “I am so happy to announce that the “Camouflage World Tour” is coming to São Paulo this September 28th! Brazil, here I come!!! ( more information soon at http://www.mundo.vc)”.
And in fact, at
mundo.vc/eventolarafabian/#/
they are advertising Lara’s appearance at Espaço das Américas in Sao Paulo on both September 28 and 29th. They indicate that tickets will go on sale March 23rd.
Espaco das Americas is a big place – it can hold as much as 8,000 people, though depending on where the show is taking place, it can hold 1,000 or 3,000. It also offers dinners.
The text promotion for this (written before a second show was added), reads, “After 17 years, Lara Fabian will be back in Brazil to present the Camouflage World Tour.
The diva who charmed Brazil with the song Love By Grace and even sang in Portuguese with the song Meu Grande Amor (O Clone) will make her first true show in Brazil for a single date September 28 in São Paulo (Space of the Americas) .... Do not miss this unique opportunity to hear the amazing and magical voice of Lara Fabian

An article concerning it can be found at (http://www.acessocultural.com/2018/03/lara-fabian-fara-show-no-brasil-em.html?m=1); here’s the translation:

Lara Fabian to perform in Brazil in September
The Belgian singer, naturalized Canadian, Lara Fabian will come to Brazil for a unique performance in São Paulo
By Andréia Bueno
The show, which will take place in September at Espaço das Américas , is part of the tour of the recent pop album "Camouflage" .
The values of the tickets released by the producer Mundo Entertainment, vary from 90 (common lane), to 600 reais, for those who want the best box of the event with VIP attendance, open bar and kit with Lara Fabian products. According to information, the presentation will take place on September 28.
The "Camouflage World Tour," which began in February of that year, taking Lara and her band to more than 40 dates in 30 countries, where she was sold out in Miami, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Brussels, Athens, Montreal, Berlin, among others, completing the tour in Brazil / São Paulo.
Lara Fabian began her career in 1990, accumulating 13 albums released and several hit songs like "Love By Grace", "I Will Love Again," Requiem Pour un Fou "and" For Always". For more information about Lara Fabian in Brazil go to: www.mundo.vc
---------------------------------------------------------------
The implication here is that Sao Paulo will be her only stop in Brazil. Would Lara really go all that way for one (now two) shows? Perhaps there are other shows planned for the ‘neighborhood’ (e.g., Argentina), or could other places in Brazil show be added? The comment about ‘completing the tour in Brazil’ may or may not be relevant, as things do seem to change with time.
Note that these shows are not yet listed on Lara’s Events page – though neither is the concert in Montreal, which Lara has talked about for a few weeks, that was previously thought to ‘end’ the Camouflage tour in September.
For those who would like a high quality video of Lara’s current tour show,
Alena has posted one of the Moscow concert from 2-24-18, at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=2A4myir-oy0&t=516s
Also, if one wants to see the complete show of “Microphone” from last week, it is available at:
www.facebook.com/larafabian.artist/videos/1313365158807443/
The program itself put out a short video of Lara discussing what it takes to last so long in the business; it can be seen at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wdiMCytc-I
or equivalently,
www.facebook.com/MicrophoneTeleQc/videos/571037056601628/
Lara’s reply was about the necessity of change, and how it comes about through one’s own dissatisfaction, and through ‘accidents’ if one is open to them.
Then there was the latest edition of “La Voix”, having moved into the ‘duels’ section. If you’re not familiar with how this works, this is the description from La Voix’s site:
THE DUELS
The Duels oppose two participants from the same team. To prepare, participants are helped and advised not only by their coach, but also by mentors. After the duet performance, the coach determines the participant who will move on to the next stage. The other coaches will be able to steal an unsuccessful candidate. They can only use this privilege twice. At the end of the Duels, each team will have 8 participants.
We can see the wonderful ‘duel’ of Julien and Pamela, at
tva.canoe.ca/emissions/lavoix/videos/duel-de-julien-et-pamela-la-voix-6
Lara, after consultation with Laurence Jalbert, chose Pamela, as a “powerhouse with charisma”. Julien was very understanding about the decision, and thankful he had the opportunity to be on the show and to work with them. One can thus see on Lara’s “Team” on the La Voix site that Julien’s picture is greyed out (http://tva.canoe.ca/emissions/lavoix/equipes#team_1),
Then there was the impassioned competition between Katrina Robert and Miriam. Lara picked Miriam, whom she said transported her “away from here”. Katrina put all of herself into the song; Miriam seemed more like a singer with control. Katrina was sad at the end, though she said the right things.
And, Lara has picked up Elodie Begin, who lost her ‘duel’ with “Vanwho” on Alex’s team. (Vanwho had a more infectious attitude, though Elodie had a better voice, IMHO). The video of that competition can be seen at
tva.canoe.ca/emissions/lavoix/videos/duel-delodie-et-vanwho-la-voix-6
Lara’s “rescuing her” (by hitting the red button, which is not shown in the video) made both of them winners, and everybody was happy.

A video of Laurence saying how proud and happy she is to be able to transmit her experience to the candidates can be found at: www.facebook.com/lavoixtva/videos/1605386479556854/
And also, Lara at the concert for the King and Queen of Belgium (from the Lara Fabian Greece site):

Lara has one more week at home before leaving for her concerts in eastern Europe. Undoubtedly the time will be spent shrinking her La Voix team down to the required 8 participants in the forthcoming duels – she has three more cuts to make. Lara has said often that if these shows were around when she was young, she would have jumped at the chance to compete; outside of ‘Eurovision’, she didn’t get the opportunity. Now she sees it from the other side. Hopefully she is enjoying the process; for every joyous winner there is a sad loser. And that, for Lara, as emotional as she is, must be difficult.
