The news this past week centered, again, on the two aspects of Lara’s career, her international tour, and her ‘home’ activity, if now the ‘home’ is defined as Montreal. Again we’ll start with the tour, which traveled to Moscow for two well-received shows, on the 24th and 25th. After arriving, Lara posted the following photo of Moscow,
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803.1073741829.201065806601591/1938705479504273/?type=3&theater
with the caption, “Good morning Russia ! Here I am!” Interestingly, Lara carried out her public discourse in Moscow seemingly entirely in English, in keeping with the concert. In the past, she has made an effort to alternate English and French.
Here are some videos that have been made available, with the stars indicating high quality videos:

Afterwards, Lara posted a set of pictures, with the statement, “Thank you Moscow for two magical evenings.. Next stop : St Petersburg!” The pictures showed a filled, enthusiastic audience. An example of the responses was this:
Nina Katayeva: “Amazing show last night.!In this performance, everything is perfect and of course, Lara, as always beautiful.Thank you very much.”
And here is a (Google) translation of a review on the Lara Fabian Connecting People site:

Axinya Vladimirovna
It so happened that the first time I listened to the album it was on the eve of the concert, I repent. And I did not like it at all, straight from the beginning, it seemed somehow dull, depressive, and a voice in electronic processing, as if it were not Lara's album at all. I went to the concert with thoughts: okay at least I'll see Lara live. Half of the concert was for me sleepy in terms of music, but joyful from contemplation. Yes, and Lara at first was some kind of tense, squeezed, though she tried to dance. The audience took rather restrained the new songs. But after the performance of old hits, it became noticeably lively, the fans carried flowers, and Lara became more joyful and active, especially when the girls showed a banner with the inscription "On T'aime LARA" and presented her with presents. They waved all the flags while she disguised herself, when she got out the flags, as it seemed to me, and it was dark in the hall, I do not know whether Lara saw, let's hope that it was. There were a lot of lights [i.e., phones] on three or four of the songs, it looked beautiful. By the end of the concert, the room melted and even Bravo was shouted at new songs! I liked that the voice was without electronic processing, but so deep, alive and native. And the songs sounded alive better than on the album. I noticed that the third day in my head spinning new songs and I'm singing
I listened once more to the album, and it is such a cool guy, and the music is fashionable!! Modern, stylish and high-quality product turned out, thanks Lara!
And at the concert there is not enough dancers and a dance floor.
Ps do not repeat my mistake, listen to the album several times, especially the recording from the concert. Hook necessarily.
------------------------------------------------------------
This response has been reported several times – and the suggestion at the end is a good one, as there is a lack of familiarity for the new songs by the audience. The vast majority of Lara’s standing ovations have come for her older, more emotionally expressive songs, even though the new ones are very musical and well-done.
Then there was the other on-going, big story, Lara’s appearance on La Voix. The third of the blind auditions took place, and again Lara was very successful in recruiting candidates to her team. Here’s what she wrote:
---------------------------------------------------------------
"Already A 3th appointment. La Voix is an adventure full of wealth thanks to the artists who show up one after another but also because behind this is an amazing production team whose huge work I salute tonight.
An evening of plenty for #équipelara:
Chloe Doyon, the bold one. It's not who wants to who can sing Mauranne, the degree of difficulty in this piece was high and Chloe did it brilliantly.
Julien Charbonneau, the magic one. In my eyes, he's sort of a fantastic little character with talent outside of the norm. His voice threw all four of us on the floor, it really is not given to everyone to sing like that while making dance music.
Josh Adams, the charismatic one. The voice of perseverance, an incarnate charm and a desire to surpass and work hard to leave his mark.
Welcome to all three close to me, looking forward to finding you!"
---------------------------------------------------------------
Two of the videos are available, both from singers who sang dance/funk music (to one Garou said it was a category called ‘Franco-funk”).
Chloe Doyon: tva.canoe.ca/emissions/lavoix/videos/audition-a-laveugle-de-chloe-doyon-la-voix-6
Julien Charbonneau: tva.canoe.ca/emissions/lavoix/videos/audition-a-laveugle-de-julien-charbonneau-la-voix-6
Lara has one advantage over most of the other judges in that she is very verbal, and very emotional (and also, very pretty). .Here’s how it stands right now: Lara has 8 contestants on her team, while Garou, Eric and Alex each have 7.
And in a larger sense, Lara’s efforts in Quebec are paying off, as indicated by the sales of her new album there (thanks to the "Lara Fabian, Bien Plus Qu'une Passion. "Corse – Réunion" site):
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Classification from 20 to 26 February 2018.

Lara is saying more and more clearly that she wants to open her school some place that is safe, and it’s an increasingly good bet she will keep Montreal as her home base in the coming years. If so, it will be interesting to see what that means for her record sales and public appearances in France and Belgium, say for the upcoming French album (still talked about for late this year).
In other news, still of the Quebec variety, a short segment of Lara’s appearance on “La vraie nature” which will air next Sunday after La Voix, became available. It can be found at:
www.facebook.com/LaraFabianfromMexico/videos/1595054467215274/
This was a very revealing segment! It started with Lara mentioning, that unlike one of the other guests, it was her father who supported her career, and her mother thought it would be too unstable. Her father carried his guitar around with him in his car, and once he learned Lara was interested, he taught her to sing, the first songs being in English. She would sing with him all the time. That much we knew.
What we didn’t know was what Lara revealed next. “He gave me his money to be able to make my first album and he supported this album. It was discovered later that the cassettes were demagnetized in the radio. I could not believe it when the cassette was put in at that time. That man worked, an honest man who worked all his life so that one day he could give a little money to his 19 year old daughter to produce her first album and then he wants to hear it and it is something inaudible. He stayed shocked, stayed with that rage. He said everything you can say to a person to distance yourself. It was very serious, because it happened before, it was really serious. What I did after that was to call Rick, what we were about was to go to North America, I knew that there was a place there where French was spoken. And what I did was to place an ocean between my dad and me.”
Lara then went on to wonder, “It seems so crazy to see how much pain can be an incredible inspiration, but one day it comes out of that and what is left are only questions and I wonder will it be that people have to suffer to learn and that we have to be made strong by that suffering. Will one day we stop doing that?”
For those of you who’ve wondered why Lara really moved to Quebec, you have your answer; and an excellent philosophical question to conclude it…
