The quiet before the storm...and to alter a line from Lara's album, "She is the storm".
Lara spent at least part of the last week in rehearsals for her “Camouflage World Tour”, which starts this Friday in Miami. She posted a picture of the rehearsal, available at:
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803.1073741829.201065806601591/1898189606889194/?type=3&theater
The band seems to include 6 musicians and a chorus of singers.
Lara seemed to leave about two weeks for her rehearsals of these completely new songs for her. Hopefully, on opening night, she won’t feel she didn’t rehearse enough [see the wonderful Billy Joel video, which includes a discussion of that same timing (https://www.billyjoel.com/video/when-you-go-on-tour-how-much-do-you-rehearse-and-how-do-you-deal-with-a-multi-million-dollar-lighting-rig/)].
There are some promotional announcements one can find. For example, for the show in L.A., there is this blurb from www.visitpasadena.com/events/lara-fabian/:
------------------------------------
Camouflage World Tour
Lara Fabian performs at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium as part of her Camouflage World Tour. Her new album was released in the Fall of 2017, it was the artist’s first original English album in over a decade. In her music you will hear the combination of contemporary progressive pop sound and her previous English repertoire. Her tour will include a stunning and innovative visual production, expect to hear works from the new album as well as recognizable hits from earlier albums.
--------------------------------------------
There’s also a “Ticketmaster” picture of Lara in the Miami New Times: www.miaminewtimes.com/event/lara-fabian-9554187; a blurb for tickets in Miami at events.power96.cbslocal.com/miamibeach/events/lara-fabian-camouflageworldtour-/E0-001-105267898-7; a “best shows in Chicago” advertisement for Lara at www.chicago-theater.com/theaters/copernicus-center/lara-fabian.php; and, perhaps most effective of all, an add for most of the U.S. shows in the Russian hotline, at www.russianhotline.com/
So, after these efforts, and having announced the three “meet and greets” for the U.S. tour several days ago, here is the current ticket status: in Miami, about 50% full; in New York, about 90%; in Washington, D.C., about 30%; Chicago, about 50%; Los Angeles, about 50%. Obviously, Washington, D.C. still lags, despite Lara’s announcement that the VIP “meet and greet” tickets were almost all gone. In fact, it’s now been reported (by LFIAG Select) that there were 10 spots available in each of the three cities, and they were all sold.
Offhand, one might say these percentages are not all that bad, considering the (still) relative lack of publicity these concerts have been given. On the other hand, this is Lara we’re talking about, a great star who does not give many shows in the U.S., and who is touring – for the first time in the U.S. – with an English language album. It’s doubtful that Lara’s people would have been happy with such numbers had they known ahead of time that would be the case, one week before the events were to begin. There’s still time for improvement, however – and regardless of how many people get to see them, let’s hope the shows are a great creative success, and the fans are satisfied.
BTW, Lara noted in a picture that it was -11°C (13°F) in Montreal yesterday – so that a trip to Miami seems even more pleasing.
Also next Friday, the remix of Chameleon by Tomer G will be released. Lara posted a reminder of that, at

Again, there will be two versions, a "Radio edit" and an "Extended".
Lara’s participation in “La Voix” is not far from her mind, however, and she posted a link to a video about it, available at:
www.facebook.com/lavoixtva/videos/1555456401216529/
with the caption, “La Voix 6: new coaches, new voices, new emotions, new rivalries, new time! From Sunday February 11 at 19 pm on the airwaves of TVA!
And there’s also another short video of Lara, from TVA:
tva.canoe.ca/emissions/lavoix/videos/la-coach-lara-fabian
Again, the first broadcast is February 11th, on TVA [when Lara is in L.A.].
BTW, Lara was not on ‘La Vrai Nature’ on TVA this past Sunday, although the program did air. One presumes she will be on a future show.

By the time of the next update, Lara will have finished two of her five U.S. concerts. Given past history, one can expect the audiences to appreciate sharing time with one of the great singers and personalities on the stage today. Given that it will contain a large percentage of new songs, it would not be at all surprising if the shows get better as they go along. There's been a lot of speculation as to what other English songs she will sing (e.g., I Will Love Again, Broken Vow, I Guess I Loved You), but it would be nice if Lara were to surprise us. While she may not have focused sufficiently on the U.S. promotion for the new album, it should be a great pleasure for her U.S. audiences to see her with an English language album. Who knows if it will ever happen again…Hopefully we'll have pictures, videos and reviews.
