A quiet week publicly, as Lara was most likely in rehearsal for the upcoming tour. The biggest item was the release of an extract of the remix of Chameleon, done by Tomer G. It can be found at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sColXel_XI&feature=youtu.be
When compared to the original it has, as expected, an amplified drum beat, but it is not antithetical to the original version, which seemed set up for this type of change. This is in contrast to the previous remix, of Growing Wings (the Offer Nissim remix) which substantially changed the rhythm and nature in comparison to the album cut/single release. The full release of the remix will occur on February 2nd, the date of Lara’s first U.S. concert, in Miami.
The actual single of Chameleon is doing well in Quebec, where last week it was number 1, and is currently number 2 on the Palmares list English language singles (http://palmaresadisq.ca/fr/tops-ventes/chansons/). There will be no music video of it; apparently two is all there will be for this album (Growing Wings; Choose What You Love Most) unless something changes. We've heard nothing about this single anywhere else.
Lara's Team posted several more pictures of their ‘promotion’ in the U.S., Lara’s album cover with the concert date, one in Miami,

and one in Washington, D.C.

It’s nice that this effort is being made – but one wonders what impact it will have on people walking or driving by who have never heard of her. It’s true that name recognition is the essence of all advertising, but this is likely to be effective mostly for fans or acquaintances of Lara’s music who didn’t know that she was going to be there on those dates.
With respect to the current seating availability, things are looking somewhat better for Miami – roughly half the tickets have now been sold. And for the next date, New York, perhaps 85%. In Washington, still only about 25%, about 45% in Chicago, and in Los Angeles about 50%. Perhaps it won’t be as bad as it had first appeared – we can hope! .
There’s been some publicity for the show in Athens that was announced last week. An article appeared in culturenow.gr; here’s the (google) translation:

Lara Fabian: The modern diva of the French song in Athens!
Lara Fabian, the ultimate diva of modern song, is coming for a unique concert in Athens under the Camouflage World Tour 2018!
The ease with which she handles low and high notes made her famous all over the world. A sensual voice that stabs the crowd wherever it appears, a voice that springs through an outstanding artistic personality.
"I did not pick music but my music ...". This is Lara Fabian ...
... an erotic soprano full of emotion with millions of fans and many great successes from the 80s to the present.
... a performer who knows how to magnetize the audience! The vocal craftsmanship in the case of Fabian is combined with highly theatrical performances, ranging from sensual ballads to the French cabaret, collecting the applause of thousands of viewers.
... an artist who has appeared on the most important "stages" of international prestige, creates a special universe in every appearance, a sensational atmosphere - a combination of sounds, images and emotions.
As she has said: "Music is an integral part of myself, of my identity. I'm no different person on the stage or the studio and at home, with my family and friends. The way I express myself is the emotional bridge that connects me to the audience. "
Every Lara Fabian show is referred to by the international press as a unique experience.
Born in Belgium from a Flemish father and Sicilian mother, this unique and interesting singer combines the voice with the impeccable stage presence, the moving interpretation with the theatricality and the ability to sing in seven languages French, English, Spanish, Italian, Flemish, German, and Russian, reaching record sales of 32 million, while awards and world-wide distinctions are innumerable.
Lara Fabian sings about love, compassion, diversity and respect, injustice from wherever she comes from. As she says: "I believe that in our times we need love and sensitivity more than anything else ..."

--------------------------------------------
They don’t seem to be completely ‘au courant’ as to what this show will contain, i.e., primarily songs in English, but the publicity seems good.
As first discussed several weeks ago, Lara will be appearing on the TV show ‘La vraie nature’ (the Canadian version of La Paranthèse Inattendue). The show will air on January 28th, and a promo for it can be seen at
www.facebook.com/Lavraienature/videos/2068498053369661/
This version will be 90 minutes long, with its focus on “three exceptional women”. Lara and TVA make a perfect match for each other in Quebec – Lara’s willing to do these shows, and they’re willing to schedule her for them.
Interesting photo of the week:

One of her most beautiful pictures from this stage of her life.
As noted, Lara is very likely in rehearsals for her first Camouflage show, now just 11 days away. There also may well be demands associated with La Voix. All this seems to leave little time for her to be present for actual promotions, so it would appear that in the U.S., at least, she’ll have to depend upon the reputation she’s already built up, among people who are familiar with her music. We’ll see if anything changes at the last minute, this coming week.
