Once again, Lara’s appearance on TV in Quebec was the lead story, this time over the Christmas holiday weekend. The show “Y'a du monde à messe” was broadcast on Christmas eve and the highlight was her singing “All I Want for Christmas Is You”. It can be seen at

or equivalently,

while Lara’s complete appearance on the show can be seen at:

Lara’s performance was hallucinogenic, giving the full amount of zest and voice to the occasion. In the interview portion of the show, Lara was asked about why she returned to Quebec (how much she loves the country), why she was so popular in countries like Russia and Brazil (their passion is similar to that of her native Sicilans), and her Sicilian heritage (through her mother’s side, the recipes, etc.). They concluded by saying, once again, how happy they were to have her there, and clearly, the feeling is mutual.
The coaches/judges/mentors of ‘La Voix’ in Quebec prepared a video for the audience for the Christmas and New Years holidays, called LES VOEUX DE LA VOIX (The Voices of ‘The Voice’), which includes a contribution from Lara. It can be seen at:

A nice song, sensitively performed by all involved.
The cover photo from “La Voix” (linked to in one of the ‘interesting photos of the week’ below, indicates the broadcasts will officially begin on February 11, although some of the programs are pre-recorded. Of course, one notes that on this date, Lara will be giving her concert in Los Angeles. She then has a couple of weeks off from the tour, but then will be gone another week in Russia and the Ukraine. One presumes all of this has been worked out with the program, and it is certainly not unusual for artists to be juggling TV shows like this with their own touring schedule – but at the very least, it is somewhat inconvenient that these two agendas appear to conflict so much.
And about that tour: Lara posted a picture from her previous tour, at
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1848845631823592/?type=3&theater
The caption (written in French), reads (translated): “Memory of the last tour…Looking forward to finding you on the next tour… "Camouflage World Tour" in the USA, at the Zenith of Paris, in Forest National, Brussels, Germany or elsewhere…” The fact that it was written in French (only) seems to be an indication of how far Lara’s mindset is from this being an English language album she’s supposed to be promoting; her residence and acceptance in Quebec may well have had that effect. Or maybe she now supposes it will only be a French language audience she’ll attract in any event. As is apparent from the seating availability for the U.S. tour, outside of New York (with its large Russian population), there are still many seats available at the other venues, probably validating that expectation. If she and her Team are going to change that, they’ll have a lot of work to do, and only one month to do it. They have said the U.S. promotion will occur in January, starting with the release of the next single (Chameleon), and a “fantastic remix” (their words). Hopefully the promotion will be in English!
Also on tap for 2018: Lara had done a fashion shoot for the studio Voeux. A video of it can be seen (thanks to Lara Fabian, Bien Plus Qu'une Passion. "Corse - Réunion") at:

or equivalently,

It closes with a Victor Hugo quote, “When everything is small, women stay big”.
The photographer is Laurence Labat, and his Facebook page is www.facebook.com/LaurenceLabatPhotographe/.
It is scheduled to appear in 2018, although the video already shows us some nice images.
Lara was not completely absent from the airwaves in Belgium; as linked to by the Mademoiselle Zhivago FB site, Lara was on a call-in show (thanks to Sil Vério on the LFIAG Select site for the link), at
www.rtbf.be/auvio/detail_lara-fabian-c-est-juste-un-principe-humain-de-base-d-aider-les-autres?id=2291866
The first game was to identify who she was, which the host did in short order. The program was called “Viva for Life 2017” and Lara discussed the humane difficulties in France and Belgium that have been experienced this year. As the video link itself suggests, her feeling is that “it is just a basic human principle to help others”. The accompanying article says (in translation):
---------------------------------------------------------------
The artist Lara Fabian passed on the airwaves of Vivacité, the time of an interview with Cyril.
Lara Fabian is also involved in the adventure Viva for Life! The time of a phone call, she answered the questions of Cyril. The artist took the time to recall how important the cause was to her and how important it is to act. It is true that if Viva for Life has already raised millions of euros and increased the sensitivity to the cause, there is still a lot of work to no longer have to pronounce this sentence "In Belgium, one in four children live in poverty" .
She will also participate in the challenge of the day: #VernisForLife. The idea: to paint your nails, to create a huge mosaic. If the challenge is met, our partner Planet Perfume will donate € 20,000 to Viva for Life. A generous and essential gift!

And in that regard, one of our interesting photo(s) of the week:

with the caption, “Find the coaches of the voice 6 Alex Nevsky, Éric Lapointe, Lara Fabian and Garou from February 11, 19 pm, on airwaves of TVA.”
And, finally, Lara provided her own wish for a Merry Christmas, with a (not-very-happy looking) Santa, up in a (Christmas) tree

Once again, when the next News Update appears, the holiday will have passed, so we wish all of you a Happy New Year, with the customary refrain, “May next year be better than the year that is passing…”. And altering the standard phrase, let us say, “L'année est morte, vive l’année“ (The Year is Dead, Long Live the [New] Year”).
