Lara has been busy this past week recording programs and giving press interviews n Germany and Switzerland that will be presented i between now and the album’s release - in less than three weeks! For example, she recorded the TV program ‘Dis Grosse Drei-Lander Show’ before a live audience in Austria; it will be broadcast in Germany, Austria and Switzerland probably on October 1st on channel ZDF. She sang two songs – Growing Wings, and I Will Love Again. The recording itself took place in a heavy rainstorm as noted in an article at (http://www.schwaebische.de/region_artikel,-Schwere-Bedingungen-fuer-ZDF-Show-_arid,10735185_toid,441.html) - which does not mention Lara. But Lara posted a picture of herself singing at the event on her Instagram and Twitter sites, at
with the caption, "Growing Wings" in Bregenz, watch it on ZDF ( Germany) , October 1st.”
Similarly, Lara will be attending the ARD Morgenmagazin on ARD (German TV), broadcast simultaneously on ARD and ZDF on Oct. 4th. She is scheduled to perform another live song from the album (not one of the two singles). Apparently she will have many press and media appearances in Germany during the week of the album launch. Lara’s people have obviously made a decision that Germany is the place to debut Lara’s album, that there’s more chance of recognition there than in the U.S. Since the week of an album’s release is the prime time for its promotion, it would thus appear that the U.S. promotion, which is to come later, will be concerned as much if not more so with the upcoming five city tour.
France is not being neglected in this publicizing of the album – in new events, Lara will appear in October on the program “L'interview indiscrete” on LeMatin.ch and in their journal. The promo for it can be found at:

Lara is already getting a little publicity in France. A review in ‘Vinyle Musique” of the song/video ‘Growing Wings appeared (in English) at (http://www.vinylemusique.fr/en/lara-fabian-growing-wings). It reads:

The second single ‘Choose What You Love Most’ entered the French singles charts at #86 on September 9th, so far its only week there. On the site ‘Singles of Influence’ (http://www.influencelesite.com/2017/09/top-20-singles-d-influence-semaine-du-04.09-au-10.09.2017.html), ‘Growing Wings’ was ranked 3rd for the week ending 9-10.
And there’s even notice taken in Russia (); here’s the (google) translation:

LARA FABIAN INTRODUCED THE NEW SINGLE "CHOOSE WHAT YOU LOVE MOST"
Another single from the forthcoming album "CAMOUFLAGE" was presented to fans by the French pop diva Lara Fabian.
In the new composition the singer shows traditionally high vocal parts, which are accompanied by bright melodies. The track will be part of the thirteenth album of the singer "Camouflage", which will be released on October 6th.
---------------------------------------------
As covered, briefly, in last week’s Update, Lara answered questions in a live interview on RadioFr. Fribourg (Switzerland). She thought enough of it to place the link to it on her FB site (https://www.facebook.com/radiofrfribourg/videos/977713942370206/). Since this was a slow week in other respects, an effort was made to provide Lara’s (approximate) answers to the questions, given below:
------------------------------------------------
Of the questions that were received this week one of them is about the new album "Camouflage", the concert that is approaching and about the show. I imagine you will have surprises?
LF: The new show will be with a very electro pop sound. We have done everything, completely ourselves to provide a show that will for an instant develop the essence of looking in a mirror to reflect what is heard.
This new concert that you will start with ...?
LF: With the United States, then to Eastern Europe and then Central Europe, to Italy, Germany, France, Belgium and Switzerland, to name a few.
Is it that you seem to have been very discreet in terms of TV, radio in recent months; why the discretion? Is it that you’re going to return to the scene with this new disc and to make a new promotion afterwards? What is the real reason you're away from the TV? [Question from Anthony]
LF: Concerning this ‘discretion'…in general it is true that on TV you have not much music and not always are all platforms of TV offered, they are not available. Another part is that I travel, another because I was doing the album 'Camouflage' that took a whole year of my life and have also continued to work on it. I imagine that Anthony is from a part of France. –
Exactly
LF: I kept working but in other countries doing other things and here (France) I think that just at the end of September a few days of the week. You can not be all the time everywhere at the same time and now with the launch of Camouflage there will be participations that I have done on TV that will be transmitted soon.
You are always available to your fans, as we said before there are a huge number of fan pages. Are your someone who is often on social networks?
LF: I do it in an official and professional way but it is quite the opposite in my personal life. I more use whatsapp with my husband . I am not to be very hooked with Facebook but whatsapp is something I love
What question have not been asked about your new album, what would you like to do?
LF: That is a bit rushed, since we are just starting with the promotion of Camouflage so that makes it a little difficult to know what questions won’t be asked, the question was not well posed.
When will it becomes a reality, that you start a singing school?
LF: Sooner or later it is a part of a goal that I have and I would love to do that transmission of the song, of reading a song, to be able to give a focus to a young artist really would be a thing to do and what I would like to do.
Anna from Russia, gave us a rather amusing question and it is, Would you be interested in having Russian citizenship?
LF: I do not know either, why they ask such questions. In fact I already have enough to do with my passport. No, it is not that I am not interested however I think that to travel to each country with frequent visits to get citizenship you would take a great amount of papers, would load much, would have a giant bag.
Irina asks, have you ever dreamed about your fans?
LF: What an incredible question! Yes, I dream about them in the context of the concert where I was with my fans. So it is.
What living or dead personality would you have liked to meet? So that one could speak to various personalities. Of course this is your choice, for me it is Michael Jackson
LF: Yes, I'll make that choice for personalities that were different and incredible, Charlie Chaplin and Martin Luther King
Was there was a teacher who influenced you
LF: That was my professor of literature and French, Leila du Cotillon who unfortunately passed away, she instilled in me the taste for literature and letters.
At this moment of your life and of your career what is your big professional dream?
LF: Probably to open a school and to make a real transmission.
Why is the new album entitled Camouflage?
LF: Camouflage is the title of a song based on that which is basically not generic for the whole spirit of the album. But I thought it would finally be nice to take a single word that takes an opposite sense. Given that this album is part of communicating, of accompanying in this undo suffering, to perhaps use the music to raise one’s sights. As an artist, as someone who speaks, observes and feels too much I go through the same things and find a consolation in the music and a connection with the others.
What is your biggest fear before stepping on the stage?
LF: That depends on how I feel. It is not that they exist or have standards but it may be that the greatest fear of an artist is not living up to the expectations or feeling (of fans), giving everything as much as they give me. I receive so much from my fans, I'm lucky to have some amazing fans, my fear is that, not to give them as much as they give me.
Then as we have said, there are a lot of people waiting for this new tour, this tour where you are going to travel a lot, you travel around the planet, many of the fans who write to us are from Latin America, you already know that part of the continent of South America?
LF: I was in Brazil sometimes, not everywhere, rather in Brazil.
There is some plan ..., is there any plan to go to Argentina?
LF: It is not planned for now and they have to know that, we launched the tour and then promoters from other countries are the ones that invite us to go to different countries. It is not the artist who decides which country to go to. I hope you invite us!
Just for that I have a question: are there countries that you would like to visit?
LF: Of course. In my plans, my plans are Brazil, for example, a part of South America, why not?
What was the last concert you attended? in a personal capacity?
LF: Can I remember the last concert I went to, to tell you something, ... of course! until I take a picture, I love Zucchero
Great I really feel that you love him!
LF: I adore him!
What do you plan to do for your return to Belgium? It is a question of Audrey if you go to Charleroi or Namur?
LF: I return at Forest National and I believe not until June, if I'm not mistaken, the 9th of June.
Is there a duet with your daughter?
LF: No, we sing in the kitchen while we cook muffins but nothing more.
I asked you this question a while ago about this new album Camouflage that will have its exit in October. There are some other projects that you have in the next months?
LF: Of course the tour, the creation of the tour, rehearsals and then Camouflage for the moment these are the projects at the door.
Do you feel full of energy or after the production of this new album you will have to rest before the tour?
LF: No, all is great, I feel very well and I'm in a hurry to start this new concept and work on this.
This new concert will be recorded to release it on DVD or Blueray?
LF: Surely we chatted with some broadcasters but for now I do not have an answer, could not say if or not, I do hope so.
Will there be some other duos with groups or soloists?
LF: Not for the moment.
We met here today in Switzerland with the Swiss public which you have known for a long time. What is the relationship you have with them
LF: It is a relationship of tenderness, sweetness, cordiality as a little as with the Belgians since we are one of the smallest countries and I think we have that side maybe as the north a little more, more reserved. When you go to France they have that Latin side, a little more Italian, extraordinary. I find the Swiss or Belgian are more modest.
With these words we end this transmission of Facebook that was made for you and your fans, many write us saying thanks Lara, who wait anxiously to see you again. Here I leave you for you to say goodbye to your fans and tell them a few words
LF: Thank you so much for this moment in this broadcast, really for me it was a place to answer your questions today and we will see you soon.
----------------------------------------------------------
At least there were some different questions! Lara is going to get asked a lot why this album is called ‘Camouflage’, for reasons other than that it’s the name of one of the songs.
In other news, Lara’s name came up in a Canadian show, “En mode Salvail”, on a program “Un ‘Focus group’ pour Lara Fabian”. Young kids were asked about her and no one knew her – then they were shown pictures of her, her profession was discussed, and a bit of ‘Quand je ne chante pas’ was played. By the end, they all gave her a thumbs up. It can be seen at:

Interesting photo of the week: from the ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’ site, a picture of Lara with David Gategno, who wrote the music for the songs on ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’, in celebration of his birthday. It’s at

There will probably be more media/press opportunities to be ‘broadcast later’ in the next week. And like this past week, unless they need an audience, we probably will not know of them until they are released. It will be of great interest to see which countries ‘get on board’ with the excitement of Lara’s first English album in more than a decade. But the fan’s don’t need any encouragement – the first two single releases have raised hope that the album will be at least interesting and perhaps superlative. Let’s hope so!
