A very busy week for news concerning Lara, probably fairly indicative of what we will be seeing for the next month or more, as the date for the release of the new album approaches. The biggest news, of course, was the release of two recent songs 'Choose What You Love Most (Let it Kill You)”, the second single from ‘Camouflage’, and ‘Remember Me’, the closing credits song from the short movie ‘Cello’, which has also been released as a single. In the last Update, it was suggested that the songs might have little in common other than the singer, but actually, both songs allow Lara to exercise her vocal prowess, and both have rich orchestral backing. And both songs have received highly positive responses from Lara’s fans (largely for those reasons). The songs are available from many on-line sources, both free and pay. Here are some links (thanks to the LaraFabianWeb site for the compilation, so it has somewhat of a ‘France’ perspective):

Lara posted a picture (again from Iceland) associated with ‘Choose…’, available at:

with the caption, “My new single, ‘Choose What You Love Most (Let It Kill You)’ is now available! This song is one of my favorites on the upcoming album ‘Camouflage’. Please put your headphones on, listen to it, and tell me what you think.”
Lara also posted a picture for ‘Remember Me’ on her Twitter site, at
twitter.com/i/web/status/906190791512653824
with the caption, “My humble contribution to the beautiful project @cellothemovie "Remember Me", by the amazing Randy Kerber & GlenBallard, feat. LynnHarell.” Earlier she had said, “"I had the extraordinary privilege to sing this song, "Remember Me." Every word and every note resonated with me."
In addition, there is a music video for ‘Remember Me’, composed of clips from the movie plus Lara singing the song, by the ‘Cello Movie’ site. It can be found at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiTFBE-HM14
It is really excellent – both for Lara’s singing and for the bittersweet nature of the theme. A very professional job. One can see the wonderful comments it has attracted on that site – presumably Lara has already seen them, but if she hasn’t she certainly should. It will make her day/month/year!
There will also be a music video for ‘Choose What You Love Most’ but it’s not yet available – and wisely, Lara’s people purposely did not provide a date for when it would be. However, one should probably expect it ‘soon’.
The lyrics for this second single can be found, for example, at (https://genius.com/Lara-fabian-choose-what-you-love-most-let-it-kill-you-lyrics). Here’s a copy from that site:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Choose What You Love Most (Let It Kill You)
Was in a place where I wished for the love of my life
I've suffered more in these arms and I thought I would die
And now I tremble on the brink like a shivering child
Praying not to fall, if it hurts it will be worth a flight
If I blow it, I'll know it
I'll face it with my open broken heart and my wiser eyes
If I blow it so goes in
I won't regret a thing I did, just the things I didn't try
Choose what you love most, and let it kill you
If you have to
Choose what you love most, and let it kill you
And let it kill you
My freedom wasted to surrender and give you my life
I feel that I'm over my head but I'm taking the dive
I'll take a breath with your kiss of death, if I survive
I knew with the next breath I'm immortalized
If I blow it, I'll know it
I'll face it with my open broken heart and my wiser eyes
If I blow it so goes in
I won't regret a thing I did, just the things I didn't try
Choose what you love most, and let it kill you
If you have to
Choose what you love most, and let it kill you
Let it kill you
And let it kill you
Let it kill you
Choose what you love most, and let it kill you
Let it kill you
Let it kill you
Let it kill you
--------------------------------------------------------------
Concerning the lyrics: As indicated in my review in the separate thread for these new songs, the point of the song is that one should take a chance and choose what one loves to do, even if it is dangerous (in the romantic vein). But the phrase that gets repeated most is ‘let it kill you’ – it even ends the song. Perhaps it is only meant as a form of ‘cleansing’, or of ‘going all out’, but one could argue that ‘Choose what you love most’ should have been the repeating and ending phrase that people should carry away with them.
[BTW, a similar title, with a more pessimistic theme, already exists, associated with Johnny Berlin (“Find What You Love and Let It Kill You”). Its lyrics can be seen at (http://www.lyricsfreak.com/j/johnny+berlin/find+what+you+love+and+let+it+kill+you_20746642.html) ].
The lyrics for ‘Remember Me’ are harder to obtain, and so far must be deduced from the song itself, which is sometimes challenging. Here is my best attempt – corrections desired!
----------------------------------------------------------
Remember Me
Tell me a story to put me to sleep
Cause there’s more to a story
A secret we keep
If you miss me today
You can still find a way
Cause the song still goes on
Once the singer has gone
So remember me
I’ll be with you
And I’ll never be far away
Just remember me
It will lift us high above
Out of time, into love
Our life is a journey that
Won’t ever end
Each day’s destination
Is where we began
Once the race has been run
All the days in the sun
Will shine on in your dreams
And will send you to me
So remember me,
I’ll be with you
And I’ll never be far away
Just remember me,
It will lift us high above
Out of time, into love
--------------------------------------------------
Actually, despite its attempt to find a positive way to deal with a loved one’s passing, it is quite a sad song for anyone dealing with a recent passing, or perhaps even more so, someone close who is currently dying.
If you’re in Los Angeles, you have a chance to see the film ‘Cello’ – see the notice at (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cello-film-screenings-at-downtown-independent-tickets-37629418604 or www.downtownindependent.com/events/cello) [thanks to the LaraFabianWeb site for the links].
There are some print reviews available for ‘Choose…’. We’ll show (translated if necessary) the most relevant portions:

Lara Fabian touches wholeheartedly with a powerful ballad
Lara Fabian unfurls her wings
While the artist will leave on a world tour starting in February 2018, with concerts in New York, Moscow, Barcelona and the Zenith of Paris, the exploitation of "Camouflage" intensifies. After the first extract "Growing Wings" , and her clip filmed in Iceland, Lara Fabian today unveils "Choose What You Love Most (Let It Kill You)". A sumptuous ballad, where her powerful and airy voice resonates on the refrain accompanied by flights of violins. "I will not regret the things I did, just the things I did not try / Choose what you love most and let it kill you / let it kill you” she projects, solid and determined in the face of the trials of life.

The new song "Choose What You Love Most (Let It Kill You)" from singer Lara Fabian is the true musical presentation that we like in her work. This track will give us spiritual experience, tranquility, relaxation. I would like to note that the singer did a pretty good job this time, making this music even more sincere and open for the listener. Have a nice listening! If you like the track, you can download it to your Apple Music library.

Western singer Lara Fabian introduced her new track "Choose What You Love Most (Let It Kill You)". The girl managed to sing for us directly heartbreaking vocal parts, which are accompanied by colorful melodies. In addition to all this, the girl was able to very subtly notice many good moments of sound, which are more attractive to the emotional audience.

With the single Growing Wings, Lara Fabian recently launched her first English-language material for years. Her new album Camouflage appears in a few weeks, but until that time, the singer keeps her audience warm with a new song. It's about Choose What You Love Most , a beautiful ballad she wrote together with Mon Denebi and Sharon Vaughn.
With a romantic ballad, 'Choose What You Love Most' brings with it an evolutionary melody, where it mixes Lara's traditional romanticism with pop. 'Remember Me' was composed by Randy Kerber and Glen Ballard, in partnership with renowned cellist Lynn Harrell. The single has a slower and more reflective grip.

An album already highlighted with the single "Growing Wings" is joined today with the title "Choose What You Love Most (Let It Kill You)", which confirms the beautiful evolution of Lara, with a unifying song, which shows off even more, of this artist in gold.
In a statement on her own label 9 Productions, the singer said she had linked "an electro-pop production to a classical orchestration, creating a sound both modern and timeless." This is what we realized listening to the first excerpt "Growing Wings" unveiled last month. This impression is confirmed by the ballad "Choose What You Love Most (Let It Kill You)" which has just been published. On this unifying piece that evokes the crucial choices that are our responsibility, the voice is once again perfectly mastered and arrangements dust off the artist's universe. "This title is one of my favorites on the next album," she said.

Note that these reviews are all quite positive.
And for ‘Remember Me’ by itself:

Lara Fabian: A moving song for the short film, Cello.
The News is worked up about the star, Lara Fabian, the artist, one of the most beautiful voices in the world, about to release her new album in English, Camouflage .
Meanwhile, it is for the title, Remember Me, that she makes talk about her. This title is part of the soundtrack for the short film, Cello, a small film of 20 minutes. The subject is serious, it speaks of an elderly man suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis .
The song that the singer interprets is moving but Lara does not do too much, making her voice almost magical. The song is signed by Randy Kerber and Glen Ballard .
It was recorded with the Orchestra, The Hollywood Studio Orchestra . The film was written and directed by Angie Su.
Lara Fabian makes a magnificent English return…
---------------------------------------------
It will be interesting to see how these songs do on the charts. ‘Growing Wings’ was on the French singles chart for two weeks, reaching #36. ‘Choose…’ is currently #199 in Belgium (and #111 in Turkmenistan) on iTunes. We’ll also see if ‘Remember Me’ can appear anywhere – it certainly deserves to!
Lara is on the cover of "Blu Magazin" in Germany (which calls itself “Your queer city magazine”). The cover can be seen at: (http://epaper.blu.fm/blu-september-2017/59392550). In a related development, an interview for the blu media network was published at (http://www.blu.fm/gewinne/lara-fabian_gewinne/?fref=gc&dti=124163187770552), Here’s the (google) translation:

Lara Fabian in the interview and her album Camouflage as a bonus
by Katja Schwemmers
5 September 2017
The Canadian-Belgian singer has sold over 20 million records, is an icon of the LGBTIQ movement, sang with Josh Groban, among others, was on the soundtracks of numerous Hollywood films and winning appearances at the Olympics. On her third English-language album "Camouflage", she sings a great mixture of electro pop and orchestral sounds.
"I Will Love Again" was released in 2000 your first English-language single, with which you immediately succeeded with an international hit.
LF: I still like the song. It has so much enthusiasm and a powerful statement. And of course, the song has also done a lot for me and my career.
Nevertheless you have in the last years more French-language recordings. With "Camouflage" you now publish for the first time in 14 years a studio album in English language.
LF: Each album represents a new era for me. This time it feels like a reboot, and that is incredibly exciting. I have already written songs in Italian, French and Spanish. It is not necessarily easier to write in English, but it seemed to me more appropriate to bring the emotions over. The sound of the English language brings with it, that also between the words something resonates.
Have you now forged World Championships again?
LF: Oh my God, that sounds terrible! (laughs) For me, music has nothing to do with conquest or rebellion, but it connects people with emotions. This connection is the only goal I follow with the disk. I want to convey to people that we are all together on this trip, rather than everyone on their own. It is about humanity, because we are incredibly similar.
You have many fans in the LGBTIQ * community. How did you become a stage icon?
LF: This has evolved over the years. I sing about respect, love, tolerance and togetherness, fighting for two decades against oppression of identities and equality. With "Deux ils, deux elles" I published a song about the love between same-sexed people, with "La différence" a song against homophobia at the end of the nineties. I still sing the song all over the world at my concerts, especially in Eastern Europe, Russia and the Middle East. And I am very proud to be a part of the community with my music. The fact that the fight is not over for a long time I'm becoming aware of in these harsh times.
Do you have many gay friends?
LF: I have them. What I admire in them is that they take off the masks we all wear, and are less subject to the limitations of society. There is another sensitivity to identity. I always keep that in my friends.
You are often referred to as a diva. In the process you do not come across like that in conversation.
LF: The word diva is also only in artists' circles for a demanding and arrogant person because the term is used in our society completely twisted. In mythology, a Diva is divine and venerable. For me this means nothing else than to be human and according to my nature. In this respect, I regard it neither as a compliment nor as an abuse, if someone calls me a diva.
You are often compared to Céline Dion. Does this really bother you?
LF: How could it bother me to be compared with such a fantastic singer? People need reference points. Céline and I have similar origins, both participated in the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest. However, her career has changed since then. I had more to do with Barbra Streisand - she sang one of my songs. In any case, I am in good company with them, for the two are among the most honorable Divas ever.
Three years ago, however, with your singing career, it did not look so rosy: When a TV appearance, a sound engineer had accidentally put a signal of 1 kilohertz on your ear - with fatal consequences.
LF: That was a bad time. I could not hear music anymore and neither the laughter of my daughter nor the voice of my husband. It is terrible when a person loses one of his senses. But as a musician, songwriter and singer to no longer be able to hear, is dramatic. Silence can be beautiful, but if it is forced, as by my accident, then you have to rethink your whole life. I've learned a lot about myself in time, for example, that I'm stronger than I thought. And that I have to be patient because panic does not bring anything. I concentrated on being a wife, mother and daughter. But I never lost faith in my hearing.
And how are you today?
LF: My left ear is not completely restored, and I listen to music differently today. But I'm fine. I have a great desire for silence. To loud restaurants I make a large bow. And when I have to be in a noisy place, I try to retreat to my core. This is what you learn after such a thing.
On the stage, you do not trust anyone, do you?
LF: No, that's hard for me. I now always have my own sound engineer. But I never had feelings of hatred towards the man who caused the accident. He even felt sorry for me because he lost everything. He has decided to catch something else with his life. We have both drawn our lessons. And finally, I must say that I have also had good luck in recent years.
In what way?
I have just escaped a terrorist three times. In the terrorist attacks in Paris, Brussels and Istanbul, I was either just before or afterwards in the place where it happened. So I have to have an extraordinary protective gel guarding me. I can not explain otherwise.

A revealing interview...
Some general articles about Lara’s new album and tour are available from Broadway World (https://www.broadwayworld.com/bwwmusic/article/Recording-Artist-Lara-Fabian-to-Release-New-Album-Camouflage-This-October-20170906#), Magic Music magazine (https://magicmusicmagazine.com/2017/08/11/larafabian/), and “The Music Site (https://themusicsite.com/music-news/press-releases/canadian-belgian-artist-lara-fabian-camouflage-album). They represent welcome intrusions into the English speaking market.
Then there were some media appearances. Lara responded to some live questions on the radiofr fribourg (Switzerland) FB site; the video can be seen at
(https://www.facebook.com/radiofrfribourg/videos/vb.296076090533998/977713942370206/?type=2&theater). It is also on youtube, at www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQyrgHV8QGc
Among her replies, she indicated she still desires to go to Brazil (though not Argentina); that it’s still in the discussion phase, but she hopes there will be a live DVD of the tour; and that the album name ‘Camouflage’, in addition to being the name of a song, is about the ability through love to relate to others.
There are already upcoming shows, both specific to the album and more general. Lara recorded the TV show "Les 50 chansons préférées des Français" which will be shown soon on M6 [https://www.facebook.com/557858170902651/photos/pcb.1551295814892210/1551295748225550/?type=3&theater&ifg=1]. A video of Lara singing (of course) ‘Je t’aime’ is available thanks to the ‘Lara Fabian Bien Plus Qu’une Passion: Corse Reunion FB site, at:
www.facebook.com/LaraFabianBienPlusQuunePassionCorseReunion/videos/709830202544492/
Another (shorter) video of it can be found at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=VADzXKpXRHo
Lara sang this song just like (as well as) she did 20 years ago!
On the program she also sang ‘Growing Wings’, and the same site offered up an extract of that appearance:
www.facebook.com/LaraFabianBienPlusQuunePassionCorseReunion/videos/709852419208937/
This is the first video of Lara singing something live from the new album!
Lara will be recording on September 12th the TV Show "Die Grosse Drei-Länder Show", which is broadcast simultaneously in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The recording (with audience) takes place in Bregenz (Austria).
And further, as indicated at (http://ici.radio-canada.ca/tele/blogue/1054873/une-autre-saison-prometteuse-pour-en-direct-de-lunivers): “The team of ‘En direct de l’univers’ likes to reserve some surprises, as much for the guests as for the viewers. We have been able to have a few names of personalities who will be invited to the show: Mariana Mazza, Claude Dubois, Corneille, Pierre-Yves Lord, Michel Tremblay, Katherine Levac and Lara Fabian will all be seated next to France Beaudoin of ‘ici Noel’. It will be broadcast in Quebec on ICI Radio-Canada Tele.
This could be somewhat interesting/awkward, if the question is raised about why Lara has not included any Canadian stops on her ‘world’ tour. [At least not yet…].
Interesting photo(s) of the week: first as posted on the ‘Operation Fan Club Lara Fabian’ site

In the coming weeks, there will undoubtedly be more promotional opportunities, and we expect a music video for the latest single. Efforts have been focused first on Europe; we'll see when the U.S. promotional tour starts. It is understandable that Lara and her Team will devote the lion’s share of their resources to publicizing the new single ‘Choose…’, in the hope that it will gain entryway for the upcoming album. But they should not overlook “Remember Me”, which actually might have more ‘legs’ for the English language market, especially in the U.S. And any success that it has will help the new album as well. The release of these two songs together has made this a week to remember!

Concerning the lyrics: As indicated in my review in the separate thread for these new songs, the point of the song is that one should take a chance and choose what one loves to do, even if it is dangerous (in the romantic vein). But the phrase that gets repeated most is ‘let it kill you’ – it even ends the song. Perhaps it is only meant as a form of ‘cleansing’, or of ‘going all out’, but one could argue that ‘Choose what you love most’ should have been the repeating and ending phrase that people should carry away with them.
[BTW, a similar title, with a more pessimistic theme, already exists, associated with Johnny Berlin (“Find What You Love and Let It Kill You”). Its lyrics can be seen at (http://www.lyricsfreak.com/j/johnny+berlin/find+what+you+love+and+let+it+kill+you_20746642.html) ].
The lyrics for ‘Remember Me’ are harder to obtain, and so far must be deduced from the song itself, which is sometimes challenging. Here is my best attempt – corrections desired!
----------------------------------------------------------
Remember Me
Tell me a story to put me to sleep
Cause there’s more to a story
A secret we keep
If you miss me today
You can still find a way
Cause the song still goes on
Once the singer has gone
So remember me
I’ll be with you
And I’ll never be far away
Just remember me
It will lift us high above
Out of time, into love
Our life is a journey that
Won’t ever end
Each day’s destination
Is where we began
Once the race has been run
All the days in the sun
Will shine on in your dreams
And will send you to me
So remember me,
I’ll be with you
And I’ll never be far away
Just remember me,
It will lift us high above
Out of time, into love
--------------------------------------------------
Actually, despite its attempt to find a positive way to deal with a loved one’s passing, it is quite a sad song for anyone dealing with a recent passing, or perhaps even more so, someone close who is currently dying.
