There were numerous comments in the press this past week concerning Lara’s new music video, and by extension her first single ‘Growing Wings’ and the upcoming album ‘Camouflage’. We’ll present here to several of the most informative of them (most of them contain the same info, with little evaluation). Thanks in advance to the LaraFabianWeb FB site for their strenuous efforts to keep track of a lot of these.

FLY WITH ME: EUROVISION 1988 SINGER LARA FABIAN IS “GROWING WINGS”
by Padraig Muldoon
She’s the Canadian-Belgian singer of Italian descent who represented Luxembourg at Eurovision 1988. And almost 30 years later, Lara Fabian remains one of the contest’s greatest success stories. Earlier this month, the multi-award winning and Billboard Hot 100 charting artist released “Growing Wings”, the first cut from her upcoming LP Camouflage.
The English language single is a major shift away from the quaint whimsy of 2015’s “Quand je ne chante pas”. A piano-led ballad, “Growing Wings” tells the story of someone who’s faced with a long list of trials and tribulations – a lover who loves another, an ocean they cannot swim, a wind-swept desert. In each case, the former Sanremo contestant sings of taking chances in the hope that things will work out “Leap of faith, growing wings, on the way down, before you hit the ground”.
But there’s a degree of ambiguity. Unlike Conchita Wurst’s similarly themed “Rise Like A Phoenix”, we’re never sure if the problems can be overcome. Is Lara actually sprouting wings, or is she vainly hoping to be saved before it’s too late?
The lyrics may give you pause for thought, but the song as a whole is lacking. Yes, it’s atmospheric and Lara’s vocals are as luscious as milk and honey. But there’s no wow moment, which is a shame since Lara definitely has pipes capable of giving us something truly special.
A somber air hangs over the music video too. Opening with shots of the sea crashing against a pebbly beach, Lara mournfully sings to the camera while a topless male castaway is washed ashore. The two never meet. She strides through dramatic landscapes dressed as a Game Of Thrones extra while he prefers to dance beneath waterfalls. The whole clip takes place in twilight, but we never learn whether we’re heading towards a bright dawn or a long dark night.
If you’re after something with a bit more energy, check out the official remix.
We don’t have long to wait for more new music from the woman who famously came fourth to Celine Dion at Eurovision. Camouflage drops on 6 October. It will be Lara’s thirteenth studio album and her fifth in English.
However, you may have spent the summer listening to a Lara track unbeknown to yourself. Nestled away on Tears on the Dancefloor – British pop group Steps’ comeback LP – is a cover of Fabian’s biggest international hit “I Will Love Again”. Back in 2000, the song charted globally and even reached 32 on America’s Billboard Hot 100.

Clip “Growing Wings”: Lara Fabian in the heart of Iceland
Lara Fabian will return with Camouflage in October. It is with "Growing Wings" that this new adventure begins and the clip is to be discovered with aficia.
Back in the language of Shakespeare for Lara Fabian who will make her return in the shelves on October 06 with the album Camouflage. In 25 years of career, the performer of "Je t'aime" has already offered two albums in English, offering titles like "I Will Love Again" and "No Big Deal".
In addition to Lara Fabian (1999) and A Wonderful Life (2004), the Belgian-Canadian singer also offered the public Every Woman In Me (2009) paying tribute to the English singers, and Mademoiselle Zhivago (2010), a concept album composed by Igor Krutoy (originally released in Russia) or " Make Me Yours Tonight”, a collaboration with Mustafa Ceceli ...The French public adhered to “A Wonderful Life” , ranking it in the top ten of the best sales on its release.
Softness & Power
To highlight her new project, Lara Fabian relies on the title " Growing Wings." She opens the ball of her thirteenth album, which she co-wrote in English and which will be distributed by My Major Company (Irma, Grégoire, Génération Goldman ...). The Swedish producer Moh Denebir and his compatriot Sharon Vaughn (Måns Zelmerlöw, Helena Paparizou ...) will also be credited.
If the album is announced as "an electro-pop production with a classical orchestration, creating a sound both modern and timeless" the first excerpt is a pop and ethereal ballad that evokes the trials of life. Without being in the vocal demonstration, Lara Fabian arrives, once again, to touch, perfectly mastering the flow of emotions by her words and her voice.
As for the clip, directed by Senol Korkmaz , it invites us to the heart of the raw landscapes of Iceland. An extremely worked image, where one finds Lara Fabian facing the elements of nature. Simple but effective.
Of course, the release of Camouflage will give rise to a world tour whose dates had already been unveiled a few weeks ago. A single show is planned in France, at the Zenith of Paris on June 16, 2018 . It is not unlikely that Lara Fabian will choose the rock band ‘Les Friction’ to ensure the first parts of her North American concerts, she who agreed to participate in the recording of their new opus [news of which was] released in June. Together, they sing "You Always Knew."

Note the distributor changes from country to country, in an attempt to optimize its availability.

Lara Fabian offers "Growing Wings" in Iceland
Returning from many adventures, Lara Fabian continues to flood our waves with ever more exceptional surprises. Today, it is with a melancholic stroll christened "Growing Wings" that the singer marvels us a little more.
Stop in Iceland
Lara Fabian, it's years of career and hundreds of titles that still turn on the playlists. Mastering many languages perfectly - from English to German in passing through Italian, Turkish and Russian - the singer has offered us fourteen studio albums since 1991, proving a talent that has become, over time, almost a habit. Lara Fabian, she is also songs like "I Will Love You Again", "Je t'aime" or "Adagio" that have rocked our young years and are anchored on the airwaves. And while the beauty propelled us into the clouds with the release of the album "Ma Vie In La Tienne" in 2015, now she decides to present us an exercise in the language of Shakespeare, with the unpublished title "Growing Wings ".
The first single "Growing Wings" is the beginning of a forthcoming album, and it's the comeback of a much-loved artist. If you had not already understood, Lara Fabian will be back in the musical landscape with an album called "Camouflage" on October 6, two years after her last blow. So to fill us and especially to make us wait until autumn, the beauty decided to offer us a piece or rather a most romantic ballad coming straight from Iceland. Fairy landscapes and softness close to the surface of the skin, Lara Fabian illustrates her art to perfection. Between sweet notes and heady rhythms, it is a piece that astonishes us as much as it relieves us that the singer has offered it to us.

Lara Fabian extends her English wings again
Tomáš Parkan
In the Czech Republic, the very popular Lara Fabian returns to the original English singing after thirteen years. The forthcoming "Camouflage" album, which will be released on October 6, will her first since the "A Wonderful Life" album in 2004 and the first trailer from this album to be released into the world will be the single "Growing Wings".
The cut, along with the remaining eleven other songs, was co-written with Sharon Vaughn and Moh Denebi, and the recording was then held between Brussels, Stockholm and Los Angeles. The song starts basically like a piano ballad, which will be followed by electronic beatings. By blending with the cream-honey voice of Lara Fabian, which is now rather downplayed and just layered on other lines, a very strong song with a significant atmosphere has emerged.
The visual appearance of the singer, which is rather lyrical, is not left behind. A relatively dark clip occurs in natural scenery on the oceanfront at tall rocky cliffs, in the desert or in a valley with a waterfall in cloudy weather, often with rain. The main characters are only Lara Fabian and a stripped-down scenic dancer who is looking for a trip, but will never find her. The result is a dramatic and exhilarating touch that perfectly emphasizes the overall sad concept of the song.
As usual with Lara Fabian, the new "Camouflage" will support a world tour that will start on February 2, 2018 in the United States in Miami and end, at least for the time being, on 16 June in the Zenith Hall in Paris. This time, she will not miss the Czech Republic when she will be present at the Prague Congress Center two days before, June 14th.

Lara Fabian: Finally, the English Comeback with ‘Growing Wings’
The popular singer takes again her chance with an English opus to be discovered completely at ‘la rentrée’...
Two years after the album Ma vie dans la tienne, Lara Fabian returns in the shelves with a new opus, in English, entitled Camouflage. A project that is now defended by a first single, Growing Wings.
The singer had long announced her comeback in English, much awaited by her fans, and it's finally on track! Lara Fabian unveiled on August 4 the pretty and stunning ballad Growing Wings, which is accompanied by a clip shot in the sublime landscapes of Iceland. The star has bet on a smooth first title but she will nevertheless demonstrate the power of her voice on the rest of the album that includes no less than twelve songs.
Lara Fabian will present this new English disc, on stage, a little everywhere since she will begin a tour as of 2 February 2018 in Miami. The diva, who had confided in the reasons for her failure on American soil in the late 1990s, will also travel through New York, Washington, Chicago or Los Angeles. Europe will not be outdone since she is expected in Moscow, Munich, Berlin, Prague or even Paris, Brussels ...

As you can tell from the links, most of these are from western and eastern Europe. Again, thanks go to the larafabianweb site for their diligence.
As has been obvious since its release, and mentioned in several of these articles, Lara’s people have bet on a more sedate song as the first English single, in contrast to her more signature power ballads. They’ve augmented it with a beautiful video and a powerful remix. Let’s hope this approach is the right one. Lara’s Team made a point of indicating how widespread the potential is for hearing ‘Growing Wings’ by posting the following ad:
radi.al/LaraFabianCamouflage
showing it’s available on many of the most popular music streaming platforms. This is an improvement from having to depend on radios to program the song; the downside is that one then has to look for it, and ‘newcomers’ need to learn about it. In that regard, they also indicated it is being promoted as part of a particular playlist on Spotify,
Lara also asked her fans directly, on both her Twitter
)
and Instagram
sites, if they watched the video and what they thought about it, receiving strongly positive replies.
We haven’t heard anything new about the 2018 tour recently; only 20 of the listed 30 dates (or prospective 40 dates) are official. A publicity article for her show in Los Angeles can be found at (http://www.warner.theater/events/lara-fabian-3209265/). Here (again) is the standard ad

Lara Fabian, Belgium's sensational pop and rock artist is bringing her signature sounds to the Warner Theater!
Lara Fabian (birth name Lara Crokaert) was born in Etterbeek (Belgium) in 1970 and is a singer, songwriter, pianist, and actress. Her musical style is best described as a blend of adult contemporary (popular radio music, ranging from 1960s vocal and 1970s soft rock music to predominantly ballad heavy music of the present day, with varying degrees of easy listening, pop, soul, rhythm and blues, and rock influence), Euro pop, and pop rock (a genre that originated in the 1950s, influenced by the beat, arrangements, and style of rock and roll but with a greater emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft). She's had a stellar career with 12 studio albums, 4 live albums, 3 compilation albums, 40 music videos, 52 singles, 5 video albums, 5 box sets, and she's sold over 20 million records worldwide. She's received many accolades including an Etoile Cherie FM Awards (for Best Female Star of the Year), an IFPI Platinum Europe Award (for Award for Sales Over 2 Million Units), 2 World Music Awards (for Best Selling Benelux Recording Artist of the Year and Best Selling Benelux Artist of the Year), and 5 Félix Awards.

Also, an article in French for this show in L.A. can be found at:
frenchmorning.com/lara-fabian-chante-a-pasadena-2018/
Looking at the ticketing for the U.S. shows, one can see that the New York concert has sold a decent amount of tickets, with the best ones already snapped up. The other shows are much less populated so far – though they’re still more than five months away. But it would seem as if some promotion is in order. You may have noted that only one link in the articles referenced above were from an English language site in the U.S.
In other news, several of Lara’s other recent efforts will be having their day in the sun in the coming weeks. As noted by the Larafabianweb site, and others, Lara’s duet with ‘les Frictions’ of the song “You Always Knew”, on their album "Dark Matter" will be released on August 25th (on amazon, e.g., www.amazon.com/Dark-Matter-Friction/dp/B0735L6799/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1503318079&sr=8-1&keywords=Les+Frictions+Dark+Matter).
In addition, the CD soundtrack for the film ‘Cello’, on which Lara sings the closing song ’Remember me”, will become available on CD September 29th from various ‘amazon’ sites, as well as elsewhere (https://www.amazon.com/Cello-Randy-Kerber/dp/B0742LMG1Z/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1503318161&sr=1-1&keywords=cello+movie+soundtrack). However, it may become available as early as September 8th, along with short film itself (17 minutes), according to the lead actor Lynn Harrell, as indicated this following exchange on his FB site (https://www.facebook.com/Lynnharrellfanpage/).
Pat Foss I'm in Australia. When does the movie come out?!
Lynn Harrell Hi Pat! Both soundtrack and the film will release Sept. 8th!
The producer Helen Nigtengale had the following comment about that song, on the video from the movie’s site (www.cellomovie.com): "Being able to give death a song that is uplifting at the same time, there are many people who might see this film who will understand that. It’s not really goodbye – it’s remember me, you’re with me. And I think that is important for many people.”

Interesting photo(s) of the week: a beautiful set posted by the larafabianweb site, at:

These four cannot be beat. They should adorn her new album!
And then about Lara's more recent whereabouts, from the Lara Fabian & Emmanual Moore: Le duo FB site,
www.facebook.com/LaraFabianetEmmanuelMoireLEduo/photos/a.199122136821054.50267.160613337338601/1511236402276281/?type=3
with the caption, “Lara Fabian in the evening at the restaurant Finca Besaya in Marbella... Thanks to yohann _ tzarcaviar and to my thierry p.”
This coming week will be highlighted by the 'Les Frictions' release with Lara’s duet. Eventually we’ll see whether the speculation that Lara will have them as an opening act comes to fruition – there’s been no indication of any such thing at this point. Otherwise, we may expect/hope for some more articles/publicity concerning the new single, video and remix – there have been occasional posts about movement on the charts for the song, but neither the latest French (https://acharts.co/france_singles_top_100) nor Belgian (http://www.ultratop.be/fr/ultratop50) charts have it listed (to say nothing of charts in English speaking countries). However, it is ranked as #8 on the ‘singles of influence’ for the week, at (http://www.influencelesite.com/2017/08/top-20-singles-d-influence-semaine-du-07.08-13.08.2017.html?utm_source=_ob_share&utm_medium=_ob_facebook&utm_campaign=_ob_share_auto). We’ll see if it can find an audience outside of Lara’s long-term fans.

In that regard, they also indicated it is being promoted as part of a particular playlist on Spotify,
Lara also asked her fans directly, on both her Twitter
)
and Instagram

sites, if they watched the video and what they thought about it, receiving strongly positive replies.

Don't miss your chance to see the multi lingual Belgian pop singer with a three octave range and numerous hits in Europe as well as Canada! Click the button below to see Lara Fabian on Wednesday, February 7th!

Also, an article in French for this show in L.A. can be found at:

Interesting photo(s) of the week: a beautiful set posted by the larafabianweb site, at:
www.facebook.com/larafabianweb/photos/pcb.1868580486490811/1868580066490853/?type=3&theater
