In the wake of last week’s announcements concerning August 4th as the release of the first single, ‘Growing Wings’, and the start for pre-ordering the new album, ‘Camouflage’, Lara and her Team posted some new visuals. There was a beautiful picture of the Mediterranean Sea, likely taken from southern Spain, at
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1662279790480178/?type=3&theater
with the caption, “A journey to the edge of Europe.. preparing for CAMOUFLAGE ... and the worldwide release of "Growing Wings", on August 4th..”
The only real connection, I suppose, is that one would have to ‘grow wings’ to fly across the water.
They also posted a wonderful picture of sand dunes, at
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1658021417572682/?type=3&theater
with the caption, lyrics from ‘Growing Wings’ of
“"Have you wandered in the desert
While the sands were ever changing
but the winds guide you anyway ?.."
- Growing Wings –
Here the connection is more obvious. When put together with the previous lyrics from this song they’ve posted,
“"Have you ever faced an ocean
though you hadn’t any notion how to swim..
but you jumped in anyway ?..”
(with the picture of the swirling ocean, at www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1640948249279999/?type=3&theater) we’re getting the idea that the song will be about learning to transcend challenging environments/situations in life, and taking chances. A very evocative theme, one that would be appropriate for a music video (which has been rumored).
Several of the fan comments to the first picture were especially astute. Julie Clift McGraw (from the Lara Fabian Voice of Passion site) posted the following comment in conjunction with that picture on Lara’s site: “Reminds me of the alchemist.. No matter the ever changing sands, I would turn myself into the wind to reach my treasure, the one I love.. overcoming my fear & trying to understand the language of the world.. looking out into the desert, it may speak to me.. & I would tell the wind that love can empower it to do anything....” And Julie de Paris wrote, "... Always trust nature and our senses when the desert changes and when the sands are moving ..." And so here is my contribution, or rather Paulo Coelho’s, indeed from ‘The Alchemist’, toward uniting the two stanzas/pictures we know of from the song:
““You can’t be the wind,” the wind said. “We’re two very different things…That’s not true,” the boy said. “I learned the alchemist’s secrets in my travels. I have inside me the winds, the deserts, the oceans, the stars, and everything created in the universe. We were all made by the same hand, and we have the same soul. I want to be like you, able to reach every corner of the world, cross seas, blow away the sands that cover my treasure, and carry the voice of the woman I love.”
There continue to be stories in the press. A very informative one is from ‘Rock Times’, a German site (http://www.wp.rocktimes.de/lara-fabian-mit-englischsprachigen-album/) translated below:

Lara Fabian with English album
Announced , Diverse July 20, 2017 From mk

Lara Fabian - Camouflage - News
The Canadian-Belgian star Lara Fabian releases her third English-language album "Camouflage" on October 6, 2017. The singer has already sold millions of recordings worldwide with her French albums. The new record is intended to combine Lara's extraordinary voice with an electro pop production, which, through classical orchestration, underpins a modern yet timeless sound.
The singer is currently one of the most powerful voices worldwide. She is an icon of the LGBT movement, was covered by Barbara Streisand , sang with Josh Groban, was on a soundtrack for numerous Hollywood films, and made appearances at Olympic opening ceremonies. Her international openness was demonstrated to you with her duet with Mustafa Ceceli , as she entered # 1 on the Turkish charts. Not least, she has sold more than 20 million recordings worldwide, making Lara Fabian one of the international music giants of our time. Attached is a current trailer:
www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=60&v=QhPnM4TxFcc
[Actually, this is a trailer that was used for a previous concert tour in appropriate countries, but perhaps Lara and her team will be using it in Germany and maybe elsewhere for this tour. It comes with the caption, “Superstar Lara Fabian has released a new, English-language album "Camouflage" in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on 6.10.2017 from 9 productions with sales of Sony Music”.]
After her last French album "Ma vie dans la tienne" was again awarded Platinum by 2015, Lara now returns to the international market. The new record was written and arranged by herself in collaboration with Swedish Moh Danebi and the American Sharon Vaughn in Stockholm, Los Angeles and Brussels. According to announcement, the multi-award winning Moh Danebi will be responsible for the new sound . He is considered to be one of the most prominent heads of the Swedish pop producers who have dominated the US and European charts for years.
The first single called "Growing Wings" appears as the first sign of the new sound on 4 August. Further singles and remixes, especially from Offer Nissim (Madonna , Pet Shopboys , Christina Aguilera ) are planned. For her fans, Lara will go on a big world tour with "Camouflage". More than forty data are planned [beginning] February 2018. The tour starts in the USA and will take them around the globe. Concerts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland are planned.
------------------------------------------------------------
The album release date indicated here is October 6, 2017; while that has not yet been officially verified, it fits in with the general schedule of a fall release, and presumably they have some information for it to be so specific (and it is a Friday, the day for general album releases). Of course, dates can always change.
‘RFM’ in France, which has supported Lara previously, had the following (translated) article (http://www.rfm.fr/news/Lara-Fabian-annonce-la-sortie-prochaine-de-son-nouveau-single-11363):

RFM NEWS LARA FABIAN ANNOUNCES THE COMING RELEASE OF HER NEW SINGLE!
Created on July 19, 2017 at 14:16
The Belgian-Canadian singer will release a new English-language album this autumn. The first single will be unveiled on August 4th.
Lara Fabian is back! The singer, who juggles a Francophone career and another international one, is no longer very far from the release of her 13th studio album. "Camouflage" will be the 5th in the artist's international series after "Lara Fabian" (1999), "A Wonderful Life" (2004), "Every Woman in Me" (2009) and "Mademoiselle Zhivago" (2012).
She is able to sing in six different languages (French, English, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and Russian) and will present twelve titles, all in English, obviously sung but also written and composed by herself in collaboration with Sharon Vaughn and Moh Denebi. [NOTE: they left out Spanish...]
The first single is called "Growing Wings", and will be available on August 4, the opening day of the album's pre-orders. If the release of the latter is announced in autumn 2017, no official date has yet been communicated. However, a world tour is already scheduled for 2018. The "Camouflage World Tour" will begin in the United States on the Miami side on February 2, before rallying New York, Los Angeles, then Europe for a series of concerts from Kiev to Prague via Munich, Berlin, Milan and Barcelona. What? How? No French date? Do not panic, we laugh of course! Lara Fabian will put her suitcases in Paris to perform at the Zénith de la Villette, on June 16, 2018. So, happy?
-----------------------------------------------------------
Interestingly, by calling this an ‘international’ album, one is able to include the ‘Mademoiselle Zhivago’ album in with Lara’s ‘international releases’, making this then the fifth of the 13 studio albums. Somehow that makes the number more respectable .
And then there was an article in Gala (http://www.gala.fr/beaute/beaute_de_star/photo_-_lara_fabian_carre_texture_et_sexy_son_nouveau_look_pour_la_couverture_de_son_nouvel_album_399662); here’s the translation:

PHOTO - Lara Fabian: textured square-cut and sexy, her new look for the cover of her new album
NEW LOOK FOR A NEW LIFE !
Coralie Techer
One of the biggest stars of French chanson is making her comeback. Lara Fabian will be back in the charts next August 4 with a brand new single, the occasion for the star to display a new look.
A little wild and terribly sexy, it is the attitude that Lara Fabian emits on the cover of her new album Camouflage. The singer whose notes of the song ‘Je t'aime’ still resonate in our ears, but this time and the first since 2004, it is with an opus entirely sung in English and recorded among others in Los Angeles, that the Belgian is preparing to unveil. A significant career turn that would not have had as much impact without a change of look also noticed.
Finished the long silky hair, smooth and wise, hello wild curls and textured square cut. If the blond is always present, it is intended to be more intense. A rebellious lock of hair on one side, an ultra feminine volume, if with this blue filter one can not clearly make out what the makeup gives, we still make out the shadow on the eyelids and a nude lipstick on the lips, a rock'n roll beauty appearance that sticks perfectly to the black and leather outfit that Lara Fabian wears.
On this cover that reveals just what is necessary, we love what we see: a woman of character. The straight and frank gaze, the haughty and proud pose and the hair in the wind. Like a conqueror with the décolleté assumed, after problems that she knew to overcome, Lara Fabian is about to return in the world of the music in a shattering way. If we do not yet know what the first Camouflage chords will give, we already note that it will be an album that will oscillate between modern electro pop and variety. A sparkling mix for a woman who is quite as much that and who will be equally to listen to and to admire during a world tour scheduled for 2018.

Lara’s Team should consider hiring this writer to do publicity for her.
In other news, Lara posted a modified picture of the album cover with the phrase “Follow me on Shazam”, at:
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1657346154306875/?type=3&theater
Most of you probably know ‘Shazam’ as supplying the app that can be used to identify any recorded music being played at the time. It is said that it has been downloaded (for free) over 1 billion times. However, as indicated (https://www.shazam.com/news/followartists), you can also ‘follow’ artists on Shazam – you get to find out which artists they are listening to, as well as “find out about videos, new albums and singles for the artists you follow too”. If you want to see how to follow Lara (or any other musician), a short tutorial (for example, for the iPhone 6) is available at
visihow.com/Follow_a_Musician_on_Shazam_on_iPhone_6
Basically, it amounts to searching for a song by Lara, once that song is called up, scrolling down to the bottom of the page, and on the right, click ‘follow’. As of this moment, it appears that Lara has 1.5 million followers.
Following her recent celebration of the ‘national holiday’ for Canada, the U.S. and France, it was now Belgium’s turn (July 21) (it is interesting how all of these national holidays are in the same monthly time frame). Lara posted the following picture
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1658782917496532/?type=3&theater
with the (translated) phrase, Happy Holiday to all the Belgians. It is written in both French and Dutch (representing the Flanders community, which is 58% of the population). According to Wikipedia, “The festival's formal establishment dates to a law of 27 May 1890 and commemorates an event on 21 July 1831 in which Leopold of Saxe-Cobourg swore allegiance to the new Belgian constitution, thus becoming the nation's first monarch. The king's vow marked the start of the independent state of Belgium under a constitutional monarchy and parliament.”
For those of you who never heard Lara’s duet with Les Friction of ‘You Always Knew’, it is back on youtube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CosF52EfEE. [Hopefully, our pointing that out will not get it removed again…]. On the ‘more official’ side, you probably know that Lara has an ‘official youtube channel’, at www.youtube.com/user/larafabianoff. There are quite a number of things available there, including videos, whole albums, etc. If there is a music video for ‘Growing Wings’, perhaps it will be shown there (as well as other places).

It’s about time he got some public credit!
The new single will be released in 11 days; until then we can expect some more promotional articles, and maybe even small events, both for it and for the simultaneous pre-ordering of the new album. As the Gala article said, Lara is trying to project a new image to go along with a new sound. Hopefully that will make for some interesting visuals!
