News of the new album and the first single crept forward this past week. For one, Lara put a few lyrics from the single “Growing Wings” on her FB and Twitter sites, i.e.,
"Have you ever faced an ocean
though you hadn’t any notion how to swim..
but you jumped in anyway ?..”
- Growing Wings –
This was accompanied by an appropriate picture of a somewhat turbulent ocean, at

The idea of ‘taking risks’ would seem appropriate to this first new wide-scale English album release in more than a decade, especially doing it without the apparent backing of a major record company. Lara, however, does know how to swim in those waters, at least to some extent, and is quite familiar with the turbulence it entails, as well. Here’s hoping the reward exceeds the risk .
In addition, it was made known that after last week’s photo shoot, all the artwork for the album "Camouflage", as well as the official poster for the "Camouflage World Tour", and the artwork for the first single "Growing Wings" is now finalized. We can expect to see at least the last of these in the relatively new future, when the single is released. There’s also been some talk of a video accompanying it; we’ll also see if/when that comes to pass. Again, arranging such a release for all the different markets, without it appears a major record company to organize the process worldwide, requires great effort and takes time. The same will hold true for the album release in the fall. Good luck to Lara’s Team in getting it done.
As far as the tour is concerned, an article concerning Lara’s appearance in Romania appeared at (https://www.iqool.ro/lara-fabian-revine-romania/). Here’s the ‘google ‘translation:

Lara Fabian returns to Romania
In the international tournament CAMOUFLAGE, Lara Fabian will perform two concerts in Romania - in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca
Lara Fabian, an artist much loved by the Romanian public, will return next year to Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. The two shows are part of the CAMOUFLAGE world tour, a name that the new album of Lara Fabian also bears.
Camouflage is the new album of Lara Fabian, which will be released soon. This is the first exclusive English album of the artist, and besides this change, Lara also promises a much lighter and more fresh sound. For Camouflage, the Belgian singer has worked with famous producers, but it will surprise you with a new collaboration with a renowned DJ.
In the two concerts held in Romania, Lara Fabian will delight fans with songs from her new album, given that the setlist will also include her famous hits such as Je t'aime and Je suis malade, as well as other songs adored by her fans in Romania.
Lara Fabian will sing on 29 March 2018 to the public in Cluj-Napoca, and two days later, on March 31, she will perform in Bucharest. Lara Fabian fans who will buy a ticket at the concerts in March will receive the new album - Camouflage.
-------------------------------------------
Of course this is not Lara’s first exclusive English album, and so the other ‘news’ offered up by this article should also be taken with caution: that there is a collaboration with a renowned DJ, and that Lara will be singing some of her French hits during the concert tour. Neither is impossible, and especially the comment about the tour setlist may even be likely, but one can’t assume that these statements are correct.
In other news, Lara continued to use social media to emphasize her connection to her fans. She posted a picture of herself in the act of writing on her Instagram account, at
with the caption, “Remember ... when I know that writing is for me the starting point of the journey that leads me to you ...From my heart to your heart ... ”
She also posted several older pictures of herself, from the days of her first English album, on Instagram at
and on Twitter at
pbs.twimg.com/media/DESMNYBXUAEFp3U.jpg
Both came along with the caption, “Did I ever tell you how you live in me...Every waking moment, even in my dreams ... “. The sentiment is the same as the caption for the previous photograph, though of course Lara did not actually write those lines – they’re from ‘I Will Love Again”, written by Mark Taylor and Paul Barry. Fans have wondered whether Lara’s new album will feature similar songs, but others have said that music has “moved on” in the past two decades, and even hit songs are now different. Again, we’ll have to wait and see…but meanwhile, the ‘Lara Fabian Bien Plus Qu' une Passion. Corse - Reunion’ site put a link to one of Lara’s most attractive performances of this song (in its Spanish incarnation, Otra amor vendra’), at:
www.facebook.com/LaraFabianBienPlusQuunePassionCorseReunion/videos/681196542074525/
And again in that same vein, Lara posted the following lyrics from ‘Review My Kisses’ off the second English album, whose composers were Desmond Child and Marie Wilson
"...I want to review my kisses, so you won't forget that you are mine..." Happy World Kiss Day to all. The audio of Lara’s performance can be found at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=94FsSonptEc
For those of you who missed ‘World Kiss Day’, is was apparently July 6th. Better luck next time!
Last week we noted, belatedly, that Lara and Gabriel had their fourth wedding anniversary. Lara posted an endearing picture of the two of them, again on Instagram, at
Included was the caption, “A special moment this 27th of June, the day of our wedding anniversary ... thank you for your attentive messages on this occasion and I share this picture .... one of happiness ..... Love”
In two other items from late last week, Lara, having celebrated Canada Day, posted a ‘Happy 4th of July America – Independence Day flag picture on her Instagram account, at
and, unrelated , also on Instagram, she wrote, “... at the turn of a street, I meet "Mr Bones" ... what a surprise ... So, I wanted to share this little moment ... and wish you a nice week ... Enjoy your week ... I'm looking forward to see you again ... Love ....and smile....
Have you noticed the ‘Lara on iTunes’ link on the left hand side of her FB page? Not sure how long that has been there, but they seem to have all the standard albums (including ‘Every Woman in Me’). They do not have listed the Lara Fabian ‘Essential’ album, the Russian version of ‘Mademoiselle Zhivago’, or the Universal two-album ‘Best of”, which means there are a few songs not present (and while the iTunes links are called ‘Top Releases’, when going to iTunes itself, those additional albums are not there, either), but it allows people with iTunes accounts to access almost all of Lara’s songs. This makes having them available for purchase on the official URL (which is still under construction) less important, except – (1) there is no guarantee that iTunes in each country will have the same albums/songs available; and (2) there are places where iTunes is not available. Neither of Lara's recent duets, with Les Friction of ‘You Always Knew’ and with Tony Carreira of ‘Um Amor Assim’ (Je t’aime) is (currently) available in the States, though they might be elsewhere. The only ‘new’ addition (available to me) is (ironically) a Karaoke version of ‘I Will Love Again’.

We’re still waiting for the appearance of the first single, or any more info about the 2018 tour. Until then, we’ve entered the normally slower (NH) summer ‘doldrums’, and will have to subsist on the few morsels Lara and her team release . However, to quote another (non-Lara) song lyric, Summertime is when “the living is easy”…
