After the whirlwind activity of the previous two weeks, Lara’s public activity slowed down a bit last week. Perhaps the most relevant information for Lara’s fans is that the first tickets have now gone on sale for the 2018 concert series, in Moscow, Kiev and Sofia, covering the time period late February – early March. This means that that portion of the schedule is pretty well set, and they don’t expect any date changes. The tickets can be purchased (one presumes) through the links available on the Events section of Lara’s FB page. Since concerts have now started showing up there, fans would probably do well to keep an eye on that page, especially those who are intending to attend concerts at the venues/dates already listed on her site as future locales.
The basic notice going out from all the locales is “THE CAMOUFLAGE WORLD TOUR is Lara’s first tour based on her English repertoire, which started with the release of her eponymous album in the USA in 1999. The show, which will have a stunning and innovative visual production, will consist of a setlist based on the new music from the upcoming album, but also include music from Lara’s previous English albums, as well as some of her most important hits throughout her international career.” One would suspect, then, that if a show were to consist of some 17 songs, probably 10 could be from the new album, three or four more from previous English albums, and three or four of her French hits. Though if it is truly being booked as an International tour, maybe there will be an Italian or Spanish song thrown In, in place of one of the others.
The Halls that have been booked indicate expectations, from the promoters at least, of what they think Lara will draw. In Moscow, it is Crocus City Hall, where she has been previously – maximum seating of some 6,000 people. In the Ukraine, it is the Ukraine National Arts Palace, with a maximum seating capacity of 3700 in the main concert hall. In Sofia, it is the National Palace of Culture, with a seating of over 3000 people in the main hall. These are all prestigious locales, and there is little wonder that if promoters have proposed this to Lara’s people, they were readily accepted. It will be interesting to see if Lara accepts/expects rooms of a similar size in, say, the States.
In a somewhat related development, ‘Odacity’ announced that “Exclusive and confidential pre-listening session for Lara Fabian's upcoming "Camouflage" album in Brussels / Belgium to be announced soon. 'Like' and follow our page to have a chance to be selected among the limited number of invited guests.” An appropriate picture accompanied their announcement, at

One rumor has it that it will be in early June, although the date may still change. From their previous statements, we can expect more such pre-listening sessions, so one should probably pay attention for that in your locale, as well, although oddly that announcement was not made on Lara’s FB page (but was found on the larabianweb.com site). So it’s not clear where one should look…
It’s also been reported that in these pre-listening events, Odacity is looking for opinions both from Lara’s long-term fans and from those who are not, which would make sense if they’re trying to grow her audience. That would presume choosing places where Lara is not well known. What is not clear is what difference anybody’s opinion would make – do they have more than 12 songs they’ll be testing (not necessarily at any one site) and will they choose those that get more favorable ratings? Are they testing for what will be the first single? If the arrangements are pretty much finished, its unlikely they would really alter any of the songs substantially in line with people's comments.
In other news, Lara’s team posted a link to a small portion of the music for ‘Remember Me’, the song Lara is singing over the credits at the end of the movie ‘Cello’. It can be heard at:
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/videos/1568494096525415/
They include the caption ‘coming soon’, so we may expect to hear the full song in the foreseeable future. From the music available it seems typical/appropriate for its purpose, given that the film is a situational family drama. Again the trailer for the film itself can be seen at
www.cellomovie.com/
Lara’s team also made know that Lara is selling some dresses used for her stage shows at an auction whose proceeds go to the ‘Papillon Foundation’. Their advertisement for it is at
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/rpp.201065806601591/1562270637147761/?type=3&theater
In addition Lara is also auctioning off “a unique opportunity” to eat with Lara at the ‘Hotel de la Poste’ in Brussels, Saturday June 10, 2017. That advertisement can be seen at
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1562267060481452/?type=3&theater
Both pictures show the URL for the auction, which they indicate started yesterday (May 15th), at
www.troostwijkauctions.com/
To find the dinner auction, one needs to go to
www.troostwijkauctions.com/uk/lara-fabian/01-24556/
There are 100 ‘duo tickets’ being auctioned off, and the site lists May 28th as the auction closing date. Lara’s announcement indicates that the ten highest bids will get to have dinner with Lara. Then what are the other ‘tickets’ for? Just for the honor of supporting Fondation Papillon? Or is it a competition, not only for each ticket, but among the tickets?
As for the auction of the dresses, a search for that brought up no entries. The closing date for that as listed in Lara’s announcement as June 10th, so perhaps that hasn’t really started yet, or even been scheduled, despite the May 15th date given (and it’s not listed in their upcoming auctions). Are the two auctions related? It would be nice if this were clarified. Whatever the answer, the dresses to be made available should be pictured, and that could be done perhaps most effectively on Lara’s site itself. It would also help if the dress sizes were indicated.
It is all for a good cause. You may remember that the Fondation Papillon (http://fondationpapillon.be/) is set up to provide living spaces for children and adolescents ages 6-18 who are orphans (there are about 40,000 young orphans in Belgium). Their project ‘Cocoon’ is to build living spaces for 40 of them., which will cost 2.2 million euros. Lara has supported them for some time, and this is another, worthy effort.
Lara is apparently not finished with Los Angeles. Nicolas Navarro on the LFIAG Select site reported that Lara will be back there at the end of May for a private concert. Given that Sunday, May 14th was Mother’s Day, one suspects Lara was probably back home with Lou by that time.

The wheels are in spin for the new album and new tour, so these News Updates will be increasingly saturated with a sense of anticipation, highlighted first by new pre-listening sessions and ticket sales. It is a slowly building exciting time for Lara and her fans, the first new English language album in over a decade. Let’s appreciate it – who knows if it will ever come again…
