Lara began publicizing her London concert in earnest today, with an interview published in “Ici, the magazine of the French in London”. Here’s the translation (from www.ici-londres.com/sortir/259~lara-fabian-revient-sur-scene), as linked to on her official FB page:

CONCERT: LARA FABIAN BACK ON STAGE
In concert on March 15, 2017 at 7:30 pm at the Apollo Hammersmith
Subway: Hammersmith
What would you say today to the one you were at 18?
LF: I do not like giving advice, not even to the one I was. The only thing I would say is to take full advantage of every moment.
What keeps you awake at night?
LF: Precisely, I take care of my sleep. There are quite a lot of techniques that everyone can use to get rid of the troubles that appear at the moment of sleep and keep us awake. Between my work and my role as a mother, I have quite busy days, and I can not afford to miss a good night's sleep.
The last time you felt super sexy?
LF: I am lucky to be married to a wonderful man, who makes me feel appreciated, loved and well in my skin every day.
What book has changed your perception?
LF: The book "EAT" by Gilles Lartigot. It changed my way of thinking about how we consume food without being either in judgment or dogma. I highly recommend it.
This is your last meal. Who do you invite and what do you eat?
LF: I would like a family meal. And we would cook together Italian dishes inherited from my mother and my grandmother.
What is your cute sin?
LF: I am very fond of chocolate, especially white chocolate. This is surely my Belgian side.
Do you have a motto?
LF: Embody change: be yourself your own change.
What do you take on a deserted island?
LF: My smartphone, to stay in touch with my family and friends. A sunscreen. And a fishing rod.
What can you not do without?
LF: My smartphone. Not that I am an addict, but because of my work, and the fact that I travel a lot, my phone is important to keep in touch with my family and especially my daughter.
What happens in your head 2 minutes before going back on stage?
LF: I stay focused and try to channel all the excitement and energy. It is this energy that allows me to give the best of myself and find this magical connection with my audience, through my music.
For what [TV] series can you give up all social life?
LF: I give myself to the pleasures of [TV] series, for sure, but not necessarily the most recent ones. In any case, my schedule does not allow me to be at the forefront of the latest news. We saw "24" with my husband, and with my daughter, "Pretty Little Liars".
Your favorite aphrodisiac?
LF: My husband !
What do you have in mind other than your tour?
LF: I look forward to presenting my new album in English, which will be released this year. The first for more than 10 years!
Interview by Sidonie Gaucher.
My London
Her favorite neighborhoods
LF: I especially love Covent Garden and Mayfair. Or to stroll around Kensington Park. I love the effervescence of London, I would love to come more often to see comedies there.
Your best London memory?
LF: For the birthday of my daughter, we went to see "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", and "Matilda". We loved it !
What do you love about the British?
LF: I love the cosmopolitan character of London and the vibrant creativity of English artists. They are so creative, whatever the field: music, fashion, literature or culinary. It's so inspiring!
--------------------------------------------------------------
The fact that Lara’s first public interview in London is with a French magazine suggests she probably believes her audience there will consist mainly of French speakers, which also already suggests something about her setlist…More on that below…
On her FB site, Lara posted her weekly nature picture – showing a rainbow on the horizon of what continues to look like the Mediterranean –
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1464776700230489/?type=3
It came with the caption, “A ray of colors… Nature reminding us of the beauty in diversity”. This would seem to be a not-so-subtle rejoinder to the forces prevalent in the world today that seem to emphasize just the opposite.
It would also seem to imply she is still in that vicinity, at least at the time the picture was posted (yesterday).
However, as noted, her concert in London is coming up next week. Likely in recognition of that, Lara has been posting links to various of her English songs, including:
‘Broken Vow’, from the “From Lara With Love” concert,
www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-IvqDEAF7M&feature=youtu.be&app=desktop
‘Calling You’, from the “En Toute Intimite” DVD,
www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwA8A5JcTWs
and ‘No Big Deal’, the professional video, at
vimeo.com/39898159
Each came with a dash of lyrics from the respective song.
It’s possible – though certainly not guaranteed – that Lara is implying these songs will be part of her London concert setlist. Assume that they are; it then becomes a game of guessing what other songs will be presented to make up the, say, 17 song set list. Assume again that there is nothing from the new album (however regretful that would be]. We could then guess that there are some other English songs likely, including (with the most likely first): I Will Love Again; I Guess I Loved You; Adagio; Make Me Yours Tonight; Mademoiselle Hyde. Added to the previous listed songs that gives 8 in English.
Likely French songs include: Je t’aime’; J’y crois encore; Je suis malade; La difference; Pas san toi; Immortelle; Quand je ne chante pas…so 7 in all. Then, Italian: Caruso; and Spanish: Alfonsina y el mar.
Of course the actual setlist could be somewhat (or vastly) different, since we don’t really know how ‘out-of-the-box’ Lara would want to be. If past is prologue, probably ‘not very’. However, even these choices are pretty demanding: it’s not often that Lara performs both ‘Adagio’ and ‘Broken Vow’ in the same concert anymore, since they are both so difficult to sing. ‘Quand je ne chante pas’ is included under the assumption that she would want to sing something from her last album “Ma vie dans la tienne”, and ‘L’oubli’ might be thought inappropriate outside of the context of the new album presentation. Having the four different languages is a pretty good bet, as Lara made sure to do it when she went to new locales with the ‘Best of’ tour. The above choices were also configured so there were more English than French songs. All in all, a setlist of this nature would have the capacity to present Lara to full advantage, in an historical context.
If any of you have ideas as to what she WILL sing, please let us know; we’ll soon see what Lara has chosen.
On the other hand: if one wanted to have a setlist of all English songs (so some 9 more), here are my additional choices (again in order of probability): ‘Angel’; The Wind Beneath My Wings’; ’Yentl medley’; 'Love By Grace'; ‘The Last Goodbye’; ‘True Colors’; ‘The Prayer’; ‘For Always’; ‘The Alchemist’.
There is zero percent chance that Lara will do anything like this, since she would likely think that doesn’t truly represent her (or her projected French audience). The first four songs are actually possibilities, since Lara has presented them in the past in regular rotation on one concert tour or another, although the ‘Yentl medley’ is another difficult task. The others are increasingly speculative, as she has never sung them in her own concerts, and represent complete fantasy, but each is noteworthy. The inclusion of both ‘True Colors’, a la her duet with Phil Collins, and ‘The Alchemist’ from her duet with Russell Watson, are a bow towards performing songs associated with Englishmen . It would be even more amazing if one or the other of those singers were to join her, but we have no indication anything of that sort is on the agenda.
Really the whole point of this second exercise is just to illustrate that if Lara really wanted to put on an all English concert (though a very demanding one), she could do so in spectacular fashion, even without including anything from the new album. Again, if anyone in the audience has English songs you would LIKE Lara to present, please feel free to post your choices as comments to this Update.
Whatever is chosen, one imagines that Lara is actually rehearsing now for the London concert, and perhaps that can be done ‘near the Mediterranean’ as well as any place else. If she’s not already rehearsing, then its guaranteed this will be a typical ‘Best of’ concert, with perhaps one or two English language novelties thrown in.

with the caption, “Together again..Lara Fabian
Beautiful picture by Aurélie Sdx — in Moscow, Russia.
This is dated as having been posted by him on March 1, which probably suggests he will play the piano in her London concert, which would be consistent with it being her usual setlist.
From the 'Lara Fabian Connecting People' site, with their accompanying quote, “When you don’t know what to say”, here’s Lara as a joker… “

One more week of relative inactivity, publicly, may be coming up, unless Lara decides to publicize the concert in the English language media as well as the French. Checking the theater, there are still some seats available, but many have been sold, so that would seem to reduce the necessity for it. However, publicity would be useful for the coming English language album, in addition to this concert, and how often will Lara be in London publicly to do it? If, in whatever sense, this concert is the real beginning of the year of the English album promotion, it would be good for the English language media to be in on it.
