Not surprisingly, Lara’s final two concerts of the ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ tour were the focus of her past week. The big concert, of course, was at Forest National in Belgium, but first there was the last concert in France, at St. Omer. There were few visuals available; here’s the link for one, ‘Je t’aime’

And a picture of Lara there can be seen at,
An article described the concert (http://www.lavoixdunord.fr/91522/article/2016-12-17/lara-fabian-transporte-le-public-de-sa-voix-chaleureuse). Here’s the translation:

The artist was greeted with "I love you”, shooting from the room.
Like many artists, and a lot of people too, Lara Fabian has had her share of sorrows and joys. And naturally, her songs reflect her states of mind. She has for a major asset a sweet and warm voice that she perfectly masters without forcing. In a musical setting, the words chosen by her perfectly translate emotions. The accomplished artist does not hesitate to reveal herself without cheating and with delicacy. She feels all the more comfortable to do it that, from the outset, she is greeted with "I love you" that comes from all sides of the room. For her confidences, in the homage she bears to her own [those close to her], find echo among the greatest number. She explains that her latest album Ta [Ma] vie en mine should also be understood as "My life in yours".
Family Photos
For two hours, the images on the background illustrate her texts, borrowing from the photos of her family, as well as nature in that she is fragile or delicate, like butterflies. If she does not pronounce the word Alzheimer, she lingers on the health of her mother. "Humanity suffers and seeks solutions outside itself. But peace begins from within."
"When I do not sing, I am like you."
By going around the world, "the song becomes magical thanks to you". The audience will be often standing with Envie d’en rire, La Difference, Le Coeur qui tremble, J’y croire encore and a whole series of songs taken from the repertoire of Abba, the paroxysm of emotion returning to Je t’aime. The applause rains and the bouquets of flowers flow. Before withdrawing, Lara Fabian will conclude: "When I do not sing, I am like you”. And if it was also for that that we love her?

A beautiful review, another ‘keeper’! However, some fans did not fully agree; they thought she may have been ‘saving herself’ for the Brussels concert (she didn’t sing ‘Le desamour’, for example, and the concert itself was less than 90 minutes).
Lara posted a photo on her site from St. Omer, available at

with the caption, “Thank St. Omer for a beautiful last French date of this magical tour. To this evening in Brussels (Forest National) for the final evening of the tour ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’…”
And so it was, on to Brussels for the momentous end to what has turned out to be one of Lara’s best live tours. As you might expect, there are numerous videos available, many of them listed below:

For this concert, Lara received great notice for her vocal performance in Brussels, even from some who are notoriously hard to please. It’s as if she ‘left everything out on the stage’, given that it was the last show. The novel highlights were the duets, with Natalia on ‘Razorblade’, Anggun on “J’y crois encore”, and of course most of all Gabriel joining Lara live for “Tu es mon autre” – a fitting appearance for the last concert. Both Anggun (() and Natalia (
The highlight video was the full show captured by Nathalie Delhougne; many thanks to her!!! One expects there may well be additional videos/pictures made available in the coming week.
There was an interview with Lara by the Flemish press, perhaps energized by Natalia’s appearance deredactie.be/cm/vrtnieuws/cultuur%2Ben%2Bmedia/muziek/1.2847423. Here’s the (google) translation:
------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian: "Hard cultural barrier in Belgium"
Belgian singer Lara Fabian returned last night back to her emotional home Brussels to give a concert, the last of her most recent tour "Ma vie dans la tienne." Meanwhile, Fabian is already fully working on a new - completely English - album. Just before her performance at Vorst [i.e., Forest] National she spoke here with our editor.
"Good evening," Lara Fabian puts in a word to the Dutch press when she sees the microphone VRT news. She has been on a world tour for a good year, Brussels is coming home for the singer.
Her father runs around in the wings of Forest National, her teacher from first grade class will show a picture with a 7-year-old Lara. "It's always very special and emotional to feel the ground of Forest National. Especially if it's the last concert of the tour, because it allows me to give a kind of magical final test to all appearances I've done. "
25 years ago Fabian released her first album, and there were several hits in French, English and Italian. Meanwhile, she has been an established value of the French song and she is known from Moscow to New York. Her last tour also brought her back in Russia, where there - as elsewhere – she sang "La différence", a song about the love between people of the same sex. Not very evident (there).
"But if we as artist should boycott every country where human rights are violated, we would have to exclude many countries and so we punish the public. I think it's important to sing live on stage on equality, especially in those countries. I sing ‘La différence’ everywhere, that is my way of supporting the gay community around the world. "
Known in many countries, but on the other side of the linguistic border in her own homeland does the name of Lara Fabian less often ring a bell. "That does not bother right away, but it is strange," said the singer thereon. "Belgium is a small country, and yet there is such a strong cultural boundary that prevents the Belgians to know artists from the other side."
"No second Contest Participation"
Lara Fabian herself tries to break that wall. This year she spent with Natalia on a powerful duet "Razorblade". The singer from the Kempen was last night a guest on stage.
Lara Fabian: "I find it strange that people in Namur and Liege have never heard of such a powerful voice as that of Natalia, and they know so much music of across the Atlantic Ocean or even Korea. We miss perhaps things that happen only a few kilometers away from our door. That's what we had in mind when we duet with Natalia. "
An opportunity to become familiar (there) on the linguistic border, might be the Eurovision Song Contest. A song contest for which Lara Fabian is not unknown: in 1988 she represented Luxembourg as an 18-year-old singer and she earned a creditable fourth place.
To rejoin for our country in that competition, Lara Fabian does not see it anymore. "I have had that chance and took when I was young, but it's not something that is in my future projects. Been there done that bought the t-shirt. "
What is a future project, is a completely new English album being recorded now. "The first in over 13 years. So it was time," said Lara Fabian. "We will thus give a new tour, and performing in the US and Flanders." But the genre that we will expect, Lara Fabian will not reveal. "It's still a little early for that. I leave you to discover in a few months, there must be a single in June. "
----------------------------------------------------------
If in fact there is a single release in June, one would expect the album in the fall. We’ll see…
In other news, there are two ‘costume’ related items: first, Lara posted on her website this morning a video interview she did in Ukraine, available at
1plus1.ua/ru/svitske-zhittya/video/dzinsi-zamist-visukanoi-sukni-comu-lara-fabian-kardinalno-zminila-imidz#
The ‘blurb’ that goes along with it says (google translator),

Jeans instead of refined dresses: why Lara Fabian radically changed her image
Behind the scenes of the Kiev concert Lara Fabian admitted that she missed her Ukrainian fans - because the singer did not speak for six years in Kiev. Lara Fabian also commented on the dramatic changes in the image. First of all, from dresses singer declined due to changes in the repertoire. After her songs now have a rock sound. Fabian also commented on her marriage and relationship with the younger daughter, who listens to very different music.
-----------------------------------------------------
So…according to Lara her casual appearance relates to her now doing more ‘rock’ in her itinerary…and it is true, there are a few more rock songs (although there are still many that are not…). Lara’s posting a video interview spoken only in Russian on her site may be to provide an answer to comments concerning her outfit made by fans from various countries…
Also, the Lara Fabian Web site reported that Lara is donating her concert dresses to support ‘la Fondation Papillon’, who are building an orphanage. As noted in an article (http://www.dhnet.be/regions/charleroi-centre/montigny-le-tilleul-la-fondation-papillon-file-son-cocon-58483e11cd709a48787c37e9), the auction will take place in March. Hopefully they’re not talking about the ‘dresses’ from this latest tour! And also, hopefully, her next tour will also feature ‘rock songs’…
The MZ FB site posted a link to an article (http://www.avoir-alire.com/tony-carreira-son-nouvel-album) indicating that the noted Portuguese singer Tony Carreira will be releasing an album with 10 ‘love duets’, including one with Lara on ‘’Je t’aiime”. Carreira is a good friend of Anggun, so perhaps that is how the connection was made. He will be in concert at the Grand Rex in Paris next September; we’ll see where Lara is, and if she’d have any interesting in joining him there.
[BTW, there was a split in the Mademoiselle Zhivago FB site, and Thierry Palo, known for his highly negative comments about Lara, was fired as administrator. He’s now started up his own FB site, called appropriately enough Mademoiselle Zhivago II, at www.facebook.com/groups/1783767781840694 (note it is a closed group, you have to request to join). One can imagine this group will have more of the ‘dark side’ . It’s especially ironic, and yet appropriate, as the Mademoiselle Zhivago movie project engendered a split between Lara and Alan Badaev, whom Lara accused, in effect, of “going over to the dark side” in his editing of the movie.]
Lara was one of the guests in a photo shoot for GAEL magazine that will appear in January (https://www.gael.be/rencontres/guests-party-les-coulisses-du-shooting-en-images.html). A video of the photo shoot can be found at
vk.com/lf_cp?z=video-121236_456239796%2F1e9ae85ab1c9c5e069%2Fpl_wall_-121236
with Lara appearing at about the 2:17 mark.
The ‘guest party’ featured many Belgium celebrities; Lara is #8 and #9 in the slide show at the gael.be link above, or more specifically, at
img1.static-smb.be/a/view/q75/w696/h/1763422/03112016-dsc-9650-jpg.jpg
and
img3.static-smb.be/a/view/q75/w696/h/1763424/03112016-dsc-9693-jpg.jpg
These could easily have qualified for interesting photo(s) of the week; but in addition we’ll add, first Lara getting her hair done prior to these last concerts,
with the caption from the make-up person, “A magical moment with the sublime (woman) with an enormous heart and very beautiful voice”.
And then from the Lara Fabian Connecting People site, one for the ages,
vk.com/lf_cp?z=photo1919299_456239293%2Fwall-121236_220742
Well, that’s it, one of Lara’s best tours has ended, after some 16 months. Of the more than 40 shows, about 2/3 of them were in France and Belgium, but that left plenty of concerts in Europe and Asia to please fans in non-Francophone locations. Now, Lara’s fan sites will have to go the extra mile for material until her next concert, scheduled for London in March. When asked what type of concert that will be, Lara’s Team responded, “We still don’t have the information.” Of course if they don’t, nobody does, yet.
What about the three concerts in Poland in February, you might ask? They’ve been cancelled (once again) due to “changes in planning”, the ‘Lara Fabian Connecting People’ site reported. There is no explicit statement of that on Lara’s Official FB site, except that they have disappeared from the ‘Events’ section. One wonders how many times the Polish fans are going to suffer the same disappointment before they lose interest…One interpretation is that the time will be needed to finalize the English album.
These two pieces of information may well be connected. One might guess that there is great uncertainty concerning when the English language concerts in support of the new album will begin, but February was probably too early. It would be hard to imagine Lara giving a ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ French concert in London, so probably a ‘Best of’ is the fallback there if nothing else is ready.
Finally, let’s not forget: during this coming week Christmas arrives (as well as Hanukkah). Happy Holidays to Lara and all her family, and to all of you!

These could easily have qualified for interesting photo(s) of the week; but in addition we’ll add, first Lara getting her hair done prior to these last concerts,
http://instagram.com/p/BN_qISHBqZU
with the caption from the make-up person, “A magical moment with the sublime (woman) with an enormous heart and very beautiful voice”.
