A relatively quiet week for Lara publicly, though if her comment at the end of last week was still applicable, it was spent working on the new English language album. We did have an almost complete set of high quality videos from the concert in Nice thanks to Monique R (from the ‘Lara Fabian Romania’ FB site, who has given us wonderful videos in the past; the videos are also available at that location). The links provided below are in the order of the songs presented at the concert (and the order they were entered on youtube), so they can be used to produce a ‘DVD’ of the complete concert; the only major imperfection is that the last song, ‘Quand je ne chante pas’, is incomplete.

In other news, the Lara Fabian web site reported that Lara will participate in a special show in Montreal (“Montreal s’allume”) to be broadcast on December 11th. The promo can be found at:

Montreal Lights Up: A First Trailer
It is with excitement that we unveil the trailer of the program “Montreal lights up” that will be broadcast simultaneously on the airwaves of ICI Radio-Canada Télé, Télé-Québec, TVA and V on Sunday December 11 At 20:00.
In addition to announcing the celebrations surrounding the 375th anniversary of Montreal, this great variety show will be an opportunity to honor the city by presenting an unforgettable party!
A panoply of artists will come to celebrate Montreal with musical and humorous performances. On the program: anecdotes, stories and surprises! You'll see a creative, modern, biting and inclusive Montreal. A Montreal gathering where all your favorite artists will unite, on the four television networks, to make the metropolis shine.
In total, more than 100 people will be present, including Stéphane Archambault, les Backstreet Boys, Christian Bégin, Patrice Bélanger, Boogat, Louis-Jean Cormier, Coeur de pirate, Marie-Michèle Desrosiers, Céline Dion, DJ Champion, Lara Fabian, Patrick Huard, Ian Kelly, Charles Lafortune, Patrice L’Écuyer, Jean Leloup, Les Cowboys Fringants, Les soeurs Boulay, Marie Mai, Mariana Mazza, Ariane Moffatt, Kent Nagano, Random Recipe, RBO, Ginette Reno, Michel Rivard, Éric Salvail, Karine Vanasse et Mariloup Wolfe.
-----------------------------------------------------
It is actually a compliment to Lara that she is being included, a recognition of her Montreal connection that for a while had seemed to be obscured by her absence from that city. Obviously she won’t be there live, as she is in concert in Romania at that time, so her contribution will likely be pre-recorded.
Before that, Lara will have been spending time in the ‘countries to the east’ (as well as Turkey), with her first show (from the ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ tour) starting on 11/25 in St. Petersburg. To commemorate it, Lara posted a picture of St. Petersburg on her FB page,
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1310964922278335/?type=3
with the caption, “St. Petersburg, in some days…”. It will be followed by two concerts in Moscow, then one in Minsk and two more in Kiev. The Russian and Ukrainian political entities may be at odds, but Lara appears to be able to traverse the divide with facility (or at least let’s hope so…).
In preparation for Lara’s visit to Moscow, the ‘Lara Fabian Connecting People’ site has prepared a gift for her, a beautiful music box, which can be seen at:
vk.com/video108203569_456239114
However, it is more! When viewed through a tablet device, the cover becomes an ‘augmented reality’ object, with beautiful butterflies, as you can see:
vk.com/video108203569_456239113
Quite creative, mimicking Lara’s AR cover for ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’. One imagines she will greatly enjoy it. [So...please don’t tell her about it ahead of time!]
And in preparation for Lara’s trip to the Ukraine, she gave an interview with the Ukrainian publication “The Explorer”, available at (http://show.obozrevatel.com/news/81659-lara-fabian-intervyu-lichnaya-zhizn-mademuazel-zhivago.htm) [thanks to the 'Lara Fabian web' site for the link]; here’s the (Google) translation:
---------------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian In Love With Ukraine: it is a country of great souls
Lara Fabian - one of the world's most popular pop stars of the last decade. She is half-Belgian, half-Italian, but she has a special feeling for the Ukrainians. The singer regularly gives concerts in Ukraine and even lived for several months in Kiev during the shooting of the musical film "Mademoiselle Zhivago" by director Alan Badoev.
On the eve of Kiev concert which will be held December 2-3, Lara Fabian told the "Observer" about her husband-illusionist, her daughter, who dreams of becoming a chef, and her relationship with the composer Igor Krutoy.
- Lara, you often spend time in Ukraine. What is your impression of our country, from the Ukrainian public? Is there something in the past two or three years that has changed?
LF- Ukraine - a country which I love. I have always been very warmly welcomed by the Ukrainian public: we have some kind of relationship with her. It is a country of great souls. I know that now for you is not easy, but I hope that you will overcome the difficulties and all the things that disconnect you and are unsettling, and unite around one simple idea - to build a country that would be happy and live in peace for your children. God gave you a lot of resources - both natural and human. You are talented and hard-working, you need to all turn out. I look forward to our meeting in Kiev!
- Let's talk about work. What does it take you to "voice"?
LF- I constantly work on my voice. Almost every day I have singing lessons. I believe that artists like athletes, need to be disciplined. During the tour you need to, I was not too tired to do it in-room and on-site was a comfortable temperature, so I did not say too much in the day of the concert: Normally, please do not put me in the days when I sing, no interviews. For the voice, it should be protected - it's simple.
- Whose opinion about your new album and music videos is most important to you?
LF- When I write a song, I do not think, and for what kind of audience it is, does not count, whether it will bring commercial benefits. This organic process, there is no recipe, and can not be. Of course, as an artist, I make music to share it with the public. Here it is the opinion of the public, the reaction of the audience to a new song and this is the determining factor. Welcome - so much, and liked - I will continue to perform. Advisor, who would bring me songs and speaks at the same time: "Here it is necessary to sing," I have, fortunately, no. I have no one who dictates.
- What do you pull together with composer Igor Krutoy, how did you meet, why did you decide to work with him?
LF- This meeting was an important step in my career. We met many years ago, when Igor came to my concert in Moscow. Then we wrote an album together, give joint concerts and I am proud to be able to call this man my friend.
- Tell us, please, about the shooting of the film "Mademoiselle Zhivago". What is the story of those that went into the film, and what role did you find most close in spirit? In the beginning, you were delighted with the director Alan Badoev, but in the end you did not give permission for release of the movie on the wide screen. Did you feel during the shooting, that the result may be a surprise to you? What shocked you?
LF- You know, this project for several years, a lot of water has flowed since then, and I think it makes no sense to go into details that surprised, why, how ... I am proud of the work being done. Since then, I have more than one album that was released, but the songs from "Mademoiselle Zhivago" - a basic part of my repertoire. The most beloved of them - "Mademoiselle Hyde." I'd love to work on very different pilot projects - soon, for example, will be my new English album. Present it in 2017.
- You once said that at the same time you are very emotional people, sunny, poetic - in the mother, and this can be a practical and rational - father. Which side of your nature is predominant in recent years?
LF- If each of us were only two parties, the two faces, we would be too simple and clear. It's hard to say what character traits prevail in me - probably depending on the time and my role at the moment. It depends on who I am: a mother, a wife, or a singer. Each role requires its own set of qualities.
-You are married to a magician. Does this mean that you have decided to distance yourselves from the show business and music in your personal life?
LF- We do not choose men and women in the profession, is not it? (Laughs). And if I, say, married a doctor, would you say that I became interested in medicine? And if for politics - that thought of a political career? No, these are not related things. I fell in love with a person, of course, without thinking about how it is connected with the music or not.
-Tell us how you met her future husband, then how he charmed you? And whether the spouse opens for you the secrets of his tricks?
LF- We met in Sicily, where Gabrielle was born. As you know, I too am Sicilian - half, my mother. It was a musical event, I was invited to give a master class, he also played there.
We are not talking about the stunts and tricks, even though they are quite magical. But the greatest magic of my husband - that he fills my life with the highest sense: happiness and love. I am really married to a magician!
-What kind of future do you want for your daughter Lou? What is it that she is more interested in, what you love to do with your spare time?
LF- I would like to see my daughter happy, no matter what profession she chooses. She had just turned nine, too early to talk about it, but I will not put pressure on her. She will decide it and I accept it. In the meantime, she loves to cook, do not be surprised if sometime she becomes a chef. I now jokingly call Lou "our little chef". Cook's business, gastronomy, food culture - she is interested in everything from this area! Very nice child, creative, funny and wise at the same time. I am proud of what I am- her mother!
- You look very young. How do you do it?
LF- Thank you. The gym itself is not exhausting - I try to lead a healthy lifestyle, watch what I eat, avoid stress (is the hardest), a positive attitude to life and often to visit with loved ones.
As reported by the "Observer", Lara Fabian can sing with Jamal in the final of "Eurovision" in Ukraine .
----------------------------------------------------------------
Good interview, as usual, and there were some nice pictures, too. [We probably will not be seeing pictures of Lara posing with Alan Badoev during her time in Kiev… ]. The Lara Fabian web site also noted a number of other links that picked up parts of this interview in both the Ukraine and Russia.
On this quiet week for Lara’s FB site, Lara’s team posted links to videos of two ‘departed’ vocal stars, Whitney Houston (https://youtu.be/3JWTaaS7LdU) and Michael Jackson (https://www.facebook.com/sharedofficial1/videos/1272053336200855/). Accompanying captions indicated that they were gone too soon, and were missed. The Whitney Houston link was to the song “I Will Always Love You”, which Lara has indicated was the song she would most like to have sung (and of course she has, a few times, e.g., www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5YUX8fZUyE; www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8KXBzjCsXw; www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pt9DUcVrj6A).
As suggested in the interview above, Sunday (11/20) was Lara’s daughter Lou’s ninth birthday. Several websites (e.g., Lara Fabian est ton autre) passed on their birthday greetings, as do we. The “Lara Fabian Is Here’ site posted a link to the Mademoiselle Zhivago movie video done to the song ‘Lou’, at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeOO3zKWJYA
(although it’s mood would not exactly be appropriate for this festive occasion). The Lara Fabian Romania FB site posted a link to an extract of Lara singing the song live (https://www.facebook.com/larafabianromania/videos/1246678298688498/) in which Lara starts out by saying that being a parent is probably the most difficult thing in the world – but I’m sure she would also say, for her, the most rewarding.
The 'Lara Fabian est ton autre' site noted that the organization “Seul Ensemble” (https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/seulensemble?source=feed_text&story_id=1159370180783311) had a message for Lara on Instagram. Here’s the translation:
------------------------------------------
" Thanks to Lara Fabian for supporting the collective #seulensemble... we need all voices on our side... and the beauty of yours will warm the hearts of the children of the hospital of Margency as well as that of their parents for whom we are conducting this beautiful operation of solidarity... thank you #larafabian “. A picture of Lara holding a support card for them can be seen at:
external-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/safe_image.php?d=AQCFoqygmGiMx-Oh&w=476&h=265&url=https%3A%2F%2Fscontent.cdninstagram.com%2Ft51.2885-15%2Fs480x480%2Fe35%2F15034495_1831975783704479_1868082899975143424_n.jpg%3Fig_cache_key%3DMTM4NDA2NDEyMjg2OTgyMDUyNw%253D%253D.2
As the LFETA site noted, #Seulensemble is a collective of personalities united for the benefit of the construction of the House of Parents of the Margency Children’s Hospital. The goal is to not deprive sick children of their parents.
Lara has been supportive of this organization before, though this reminds us that she doesn’t appear to have been as active this year in charity events as in some past years. Perhaps she’s been too busy, and of course we don’t know what she does outside the public eye.
Our turn to be supportive – there’s a new fan FB page about Lara – “Sublime Lara Fabian” (in French), to be found at:
www.facebook.com/Sublime-Lara-Fabian-1624083424558365/?hc_location=ufi
In honor of Lou’s birthday, they posted a photo of her that is shown during the ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ tour at the end of Lara’s song for her, ‘Le coeur qui tremble’. It can be seen at:
scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/15094440_1624631354503572_6743147941398939133_n.jpg?oh=a9d9a99bf57db0f63bb3cda5d8f37018&oe=58C4D760
Other interesting photo(s) of the week: the first of the set taken by Mel S. from Ajaccio, Corsica,
scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/15056308_10154756292342417_8665168679873116635_n.jpg?oh=bb4b1bff8c0f3cc99c5d35e2c2a10155&oe=58CEA2AD
And a picture diametrically opposed in tone, from the “Operation Fan Club Lara Fabian” site, at
www.facebook.com/OperationFanClubLaraFabian/photos/a.674006339373232.1073741828.673991206041412/1107558759351319/?type=3&theater
A busy week coming up for Lara; by next week at this time she will have completed her concerts in St. Petersburg and Moscow, and be on her way to Belarus. Much traveling on the agenda, good thing she says she likes it!

As the LFETA site noted, #Seulensemble is a collective of personalities united for the benefit of the construction of the House of Parents of the Margency Children’s Hospital. The goal is to not deprive sick children of their parents.
Lara has been supportive of this organization before, though this reminds us that she doesn’t appear to have been as active this year in charity events as in some past years. Perhaps she’s been too busy, and of course we don’t know what she does outside the public eye.
Our turn to be supportive – there’s a new fan FB page about Lara – “Sublime Lara Fabian” (in French), to be found at:

In honor of Lou’s birthday, they posted a photo of her that is shown during the ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ tour at the end of Lara’s song for her, ‘Le coeur qui tremble’. It can be seen at:

Other interesting photo(s) of the week: the first of the set taken by Mel S. from Ajaccio, Corsica,

And a picture diametrically opposed in tone, from the “Operation Fan Club Lara Fabian” site, at

A busy week coming up for Lara; by next week at this time she will have completed her concerts in St. Petersburg and Moscow, and be on her way to Belarus. Much traveling on the agenda, good thing she says she likes it!
