Lara’s concerts took place in Turkey last week, and from all accounts they were very well received by the people and media in the country (and there were apparently a lot of Lara fans from other countries who came as well). First it was in Antalya; we have a few videos available:

Note that Lara does not differentiate between the recent ‘coup’ attempt and a ‘terrorist attack’; in articles below, she indicates she doesn’t really understand such differences, and treats them all as difficulties we have to go through. I look inside during this mess, instead of responding to a specific location. I focus on my other senses instead of suffering. My sole desire is to circumvent this process undamaged.
- Because artists who are drawn and written about on social media generally are having a hard time, they complain. What do you do when you receive criticism or insults via social media?
LF: I am protected thanks to Manager Matt. (Laughs) Jokes aside, the people I work with are a shield for me. The internet is a very useful tool, on the other hand the minds of people on the medium can be brazenly extreme. They judge, have feelings, share their ideas, they can do extra-judicial killings. I think it is important that you put some distance between yourself and all these reviews. What is said there you cannot change. You can either suffer in the face of adversities occurring or being experienced, or just wait it out. You have to remember that, when you face the question of a human. People think and say everything for free. You do not have to have constant empathy with them.
- When you were asked the three most important things for you, in one of your interviews, you said: "My daughter, my daughter, my daughter”. How is your relationship with your daughter, Lou?
LF: We have an outstanding relationship. She is a little angel, her heart full of wisdom, a wonderful daughter. I'm very lucky because I'm her mother.
- After the putsch, you wrote on Twitter "I pray for Turkey". Sometimes you throw Turkish tweets. What do you think about what happened in Turkey in recent years?
LF: Manager Matt is a Turk. In this way, one can have a Turkish tweet. I'm not that good yet in Turkish. I only know four languages. - We have seen the power of the Turkish people during the coup attempt. What do you feel about the emotional bond revealed to you by these people?
LF: The power of the people has always been impressive. People are no longer understanding the reason to run after ambition, not chasing empty aspirations. It does not serve the different forces. If we could move en masse to something I think we can really change the world. If the people decide to move about the living conditions, no one can stand in front of them. Not with fear or anger, only if we act with the urge to do something better for mankind, we have tremendous power. There was no anger in people's faces in photos taken during the coup attempt. There was the desire for a better life. Request for a change in the opposite direction to this... we have to go on this aspect within us. Not with anger, we should move towards a better place voluntarily. If we start to change our own internal world we can make the world a much more beautiful place. I know it sounds romantic but I do know this.
- After the coup attempt there were canceled concerts in Turkey, artists were afraid to come here. But you're here ...
LF: I do not think that just artists were afraid. Everyone is afraid of uncertainty. What would change if I had not come? Sorry folks, there’s a confused people ... People would learn the news of the cancellation of the concert. "An artist who left us alone again" they would think. If I had not come to Antalya, I couldn’t sing in Brussels, Paris ... could not sing anywhere after a while. Once again I chose the desire to exchange, not giving in to fear. Such losses in the contested land have been taken for granted for many years, unfortunately. Europe is not accustomed to seeing such attacks on its territory. As other attacks in Europe occur in the following days, I think they will also get inured. People get used to pain, just take action in what will be called a disaster. During the time before her Greek concert, Lara presumably will be working on the English language album; we were told previously that would include studio sessions, although there is no new information on whether that is still planned. In posting comments to the Turkish audience on her FB site Lara used English - which each week invoked additional complaints from her French audience. She even used English (and Greek) for the Greek promo. Once the English language album is out, and concerts are set up for predominantly English language audiences, one can expect more English comments from Lara, and probably more complaints. At one point Lara’s team suggested she would be going to South America [Brazil, in particular]; if that comes about in a more general tour of the continent, it will be interesting to see whether Lara uses her Spanish for possibly the first time on her site.
