Fresh from Montreal, Lara turned her attention to the upcoming concerts in Turkey. It started with her comment concerning the first concert, in Antalya, this coming Wednesday (8/24), which is part of the ‘Expo 2016’.
-------------------------------------
Antalya.. Turkey, in one week..."Ma vie dans la tienne - the concert" in Antalya, a free entry concert, as a little contribution to heal the injured soul of this beautiful nation... many thanks to the city of Antalya and the authorities of EXPO2016 Antalya for making this possible...
---------------------------------------
It would appear therefore that there will be no special charge to see Lara’s concert there. Note there is a charge to get into the Expo itself (~$20) (http://www.travelturkeyadvisory.com/antalya/expo-2016-antalya-facts-ticket-prices-and-more.html), small enough to pay to see Lara! Lara’s team noted that the venue was changed from the amphitheater (with a seating capacity of some 3200) to the Congress Center, whose main hall seats 5000. [Including all the surrounding areas, the viewing capacity goes from ~5000 to more than 6000 seats].
Then Lara’s team added numerous photos of Antalya for day 1 of her arrival, e.g.,

Obviously beautiful scenery – quite a lure to go there, even independent of Lara.
Lara recently produced a short promo, where she says “Hello everyone, it’s Lara Fabian, I’m really looking forward to seeing you in Antalya in Expo 2016. See you there.”
www.facebook.com/expo2016/videos/1111566418919257/
Concerning the next concert in Çeşme (Izmir), on the Turkish Aegean, Lara had this comment, “After Antalya, I will be performing on Friday 26th in Çeşme, where I experienced one of the first live performances in my career, back in 1988..... Memories, faces, eyes, laughter, sounds and tastes, I will never forget.. I look forward to meet again my Turkish fans.. See you in Çeşme (Izmir) and Antalya next week..” There was also a ‘Twitter’ post (in Turkish) with her picture, reading (google translated) “Lara Fabian fascinating sound on August 26th in Çeşme.
Interestingly, the poster for Antalya is the typical one for ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’,
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/pcb.1211148648926630/1211143598927135/?type=3&theater
But the one for Çeşme is different,
www.facebook.com/Larafabianturkiye/photos/a.682431461833636.1073741829.682422835167832/1088396154570496/?type=3
Her beautiful picture on this one is quite similar (though not identical) to the one she’s using for the Polish concerts in 2017 (which are not ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ concerts) [https://www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1195819613792867/?type=3] – hence maybe it is an ‘all purpose’ picture/poster, without implying any particular type of concert.
The Lara Fabian Turkey site asked Lara’s team is there was a picture of her from her appearance in 1988 in Çeşme, but got no response. That might be hard to find (no Internet back then…).
Lara also provided a link to more general views of Turkey in a short film, at
www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7yqtW4Isec
Lara’s team also indicated that she would be back in the country, in Istanbul, in December, and it would soon appear on her official schedule. That concert, on December 8th, is mentioned in a Turkish press promo for the current show in Çeşme:
www.hurriyetdailynews.com/lara-fabian-comes-to-cesme-and-istanbul.aspx?pageID=238&nID=102348&NewsCatID=383
Presumably the show in December will still be a ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ concert. When asked about her singing in English, her team answered that “the English album would be out in 2017”. [This would be a classic case of ‘burying the lead’ (story) except that we already expected that timing ].
The above statements from Lara were written in English, and a question was raised why they weren’t in Turkish. Her team explained that she doesn’t speak Turkish, and that English is the principle ‘foreign’ language spoken in Turkey. That makes one wonder whether Lara is going to add more English songs to her repertoire in this country, even though these are ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ concerts.
Another concern, highlighted by the recent bombing at a wedding in Turkey, was about security for her. Her team answered that, “Security is necessary everywhere, as much in France and Belgium as in Turkey and Greece. That will not prevent Lara from traveling with her music and meeting her audience. Quite the contrary.” Let’s hope for the best…
Lara’s free concert offer as a message of support for Turkey, was noted by the Turkish press (http://www.trt.net.tr/francais/culture-divertissement/2016/08/19/message-de-soutien-a-la-turquie-de-lara-fabian-555362) [thanks to the Lara Fabian web site for the link]; here’s the translation:
----------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian who will give a concert in Antalya as part of the Expo 2016, has given Turkey message of support on social networks following the attempted coup of July 15, led by the terrorist organization Guléniste / parallel state structure (Féto / PDY).
The Belgian singer known especially for her song "Je t’aime", shared on Facebook a message with the poster of the concert in Antalya. "... Antalya. Turkey in a week ... "The concert- Ma vie dans la tienne" in Antalya, admission is free, small contribution to the wounded soul of this great nation ... My thanks to the city of Antalya and the authorities of the Expo 2016 for having made this concert possible. "
Sir Elton John, who will perform Friday, Sept. 9, said in a letter to the agency for Expo 2016 Antalya, that the attempted coup of State FETO was conducted against democracy and freedom and it would not overshadow the strengths of Turkey.
------------------------------------------------
Lara also reminded people that, “I am thrilled to have Natalia joining me at my concerts next week in Çeşme and Antalya. "Razorblade" live on stage in Turkey!” She also provided a link to the ‘Razorblade’ video,
www.youtube.com/watch?v=62RJX1NDPhE
[Without being familiar with Natalia’s career, one wonders whether she has always had an interest in appealing to the Turkish audience. Otherwise, this does seem like a somewhat odd choice of location for a pairing, outside of Europe].
And concerning Europe…A fan asked why the single Razorblade hadn’t been released or promoted in France. Lara’s team replied that it had been released, but they had no control over what the radios chose to play [although there really didn’t seem to be much obvious promotion]. They further noted that Natalia would also be joining Lara at the Grand Rex in Paris on October 2nd; maybe that will help popularize it. ‘Razorblade’ spent one week on the French singles charts (at #131), but even in Belgium (Flanders) it lasted on the charts only four weeks. To put this in perspective, ‘Ton desir’ spent just three weeks on the Belgian (French) singles chart. Lara does not seem to be a ‘singles’ artist anymore…that probably does require airplay.
There were a few items left over from Lara’s Montreal trip. For one, she posted a photo of her leaving the city,
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1205888659452629/?type=3
with the caption, “The sky above Quebec…see you soon.” We know that it will be 2017 before she returns, professionally.
Then there was the link to a video from ‘Sucre Sale’, entitled, “Lara Fabian speaks of love”, at
tva.canoe.ca/emissions/sucresale/videos/lara-fabian-nous-parle-d-amour
While some people apparently were able to see it, others weren’t, as the video wouldn’t open for them. It is exactly the same length (4:31) as the previous video interview from Sucre Sale released last week, where she did speak about love, so maybe it was the same one.
Interesting photo(s) of the week: the picture currently being used by the ‘Lara Fabian Is Here’ site as its frontal piece:
scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/t31.0-8/12513722_10154056299387417_7172836717290166023_o.jpg
And the picture from Lara’s Antalya promo video, from Irina Popova via the Lara Fabian Voice of Passion site,
www.facebook.com/LaraFabianTheVoiceOfPassion/photos/a.722339551114856.1073741831.720473304634814/1493521530663317/?type=3&theater
Hopefully Lara’s concerts in Turkey will go off without a hitch (and there will be videos made available). There may be some press opportunities as well. After this, Lara is off for almost a month, before her concert in Athens on the 21st. We’ve been told that she will be in the studio for the English album in September, so presumably she already has material available. Her very productive year continues.
