Given the various possibilities, we choose to start with the positive news from Lara’s week. A major event was Lara’s announcement that she is doing a duet with Natalia (from the Flemish portion of Belgium) on her song ‘Razorblade’. As Lara’s team noted, it is to become officially available (on iTunes) June 21st, with both an English Radio Edit and a French/English version. They will also be on stage together in Antalya, Turkey (8/24), Cesme/Izmir, Turkey (8/26), in Ostend, Belgium (in West-Flanders at Natalia’s concert) on 9/17, and at the Forest National in Brussels on 12/17. Lara may not be able to bring peace to the whole world, but she’s working on healing the split in Belgium!
Actually, the duet is already available on Youtube, and can be heard at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=XC2G7Dh6h5o
or
www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzzXKb3_oFQ
or yet again

It is already being played on Radio 2 ''Viva Vlaanderen Journaal'' .
A variety of pictures of the two of them together, including during the recording, can be seen on the ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’ site, at:

and also from the Lara Fabian Greece site,

It was introduced by Lara’s team with a cute cartoon, indicating there would be a surprise coming, especially for the ‘low countries’ (Netherlands and Belgium).

and ‘Odacity’ gave another hint, “What are the origins of Lara’s father?”
And an article about it appeared in the Flemish press

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Natalia strikes up with a world star for a new duet (and sings for the first time in French)
Not only wanting to score for the Red Devils [Belgian Football team] in France, Natalia turns this summer to our southern neighbors. The singer swapped her juicy ‘Kempisch’ for a touch of erotic French and gets help for her new single from Lara Fabian, who with 32 million albums sold remains the best-selling Belgian artist of all time. "We feel each other perfectly."
One sentence in a French newspaper. No more was needed to unite Belgium's two biggest divas in a studio. Lara Fabian, the Belgian singer from a Flemish father and a Sicilian mother, let slip that she would really like to once do something with Natalia. Soon afterwards followed the first contact. "I said that because I really wanted to sing a duet with Natalia," said the lady who sold 32 million albums, and especially in France and Canada enjoys the greatest stardom. "I love her voice and every time I drive to my father and on the radio, I am touched by her songs. So I was very pleasantly surprised that after that interview, a phone call came to my agent. It was a good time for me, but my father was crazy about it all. He was almost about to jump for joy when I told him. (Fabian switches just about to Flemish) "That is unbelievable," he stammered. She is from Geel, you must know. So there is a kind of local commitment and he has always followed her closely. "
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Lara is so enthused about this that she has put the photo of herself with Natallia on her FB site in various forms, including as the frontpiece:

Odacity (https://www.facebook.com/odacity/) has done that also. This is a ‘really big deal’ .
Additional positive notes: Lara gave her last two concerts of the current phase, both in Belgium, again garnering wonderful reviews from fans. Videos are provided below; in keeping with our practice, links to new videos from concerts occurring the week before are also tabulated here. The videos are of varying quality, but, again we thank each and every person who took the time to record them, and was generous enough to make them available to others. Note in particular the full concert from Paris – a treasure to be kept! And also the unique perspective offered by Lara’s teams’s own video from backstage in Liege.
A video and small article about Lara’s concert in Charerloi is available (thanks to Rozenn Roz on the Lara Fabian Select site for the link) at:

On the video, calling the concert a great success, it was mentioned that Lara displayed great energy, and that can certainly be seen from the clips of the concert used. And then there’s the rest of the news…with once again, world affairs intruding. The killings at a gay club in Orlando, Florida led Lara to post a picture of a rainbow flag with a candle, and the accompanying caption, “Love wins”.

With ‘La difference’ and ‘Deux ils, deux elles’ Lara has become a rallying figure for combatting sexual gender bias. Being from Belgium, she has had to deal with ISIS-related terror attacks. It seems both of these came together for this event, illustrating the truth that it is hate that is the issue, not its momentary target. Hence Lara’s appropriate response.
Somewhat ironically, before the attack, an article appeared in OHMYMAg. Com (http://www.ohmymag.com/hommage/attentats-bruxelles-lara-fabian-en-larmes-rend-un-hommage-poignant-aux-victimes-pendant-son-concert_art94563.html) harking back to the Brussels bombings. We covered Lara’s reaction at the time, but given recent events, here is the article translation, as provided by the ‘Lara Fabian Is Here’ site:
------------------------------------------------
"Brussels attacks: Lara Fabian, in tears, makes a poignant tribute to the victims during her concert..!!
The singer Lara Fabian paid tribute to the victims of attacks by taking Brussels to "see a friend cry" [Voir un ami pleurer] of Jacques Brel. A highlight in emotion she shared with her audience ...
Tuesday, March 22, 2016, Brussels attacks have shocked the world. That evening Lara Fabian gave a concert in Marseille. The singer deeply attached to her home country, Belgium, has paid tribute to the victims of the explosions that took place at the airport and the subway in the capital. Lara Fabian says: "I have not quite found the words myself so I decided to do something a little different tonight."
To begin the concert in southern France, Lara Fabian has not chosen any song. She decided to take ‘See a friend cry’ from the most famous Belgian singer, Jacques Brel. Lara Fabian was unable to hold her emotion. The singer wept on stage, cheered by her fans and the public that gave her a standing ovation. Earlier in the day, Lara Fabian had communicated on social networks to express support for victims and families of victims.."

There’s no doubt that this will not be the last time Lara (and all of us) will have to deal with a story of this nature.
In other news, there’s a video of Lara’s hairdresser Muriel Gobillon, including her working and commenting on Lara (calling her magical, an extraordinary person and very sympathetic). She does Lara’s hair before her concerts. It’s at (thanks to the Lara Fabian – PHQ site, and also Will Demaire on the LFIAG Select site for the link):

Ma vie dans la tienne’ is now #145 in France, and #30 in Belgium. ‘Ton desir’ has still not appeared on the singles charts – Lara hasn’t been on TV recently to push it, and it doesn’t appear to be getting a lot of airplay, despite its infectious summer-like nature.
Interesting photo(s) of the week: with Natalia, both dressed in leather jackets

One imagines that with these last concerts finished, Lara will be focusing on the new English album, although we don’t know what the time frame for that really is. Outside of that, nothing is publicly scheduled that we know about it, but with Lara showing ‘great energy’, anything seems possible – even a duet between divas from the two sides of Belgium! Lara has said that music is a way to bridge gaps and reduce discord, especially appropriate these days, and she's putting that concept into action.
