Well, we didn’t get any answers as to why Lara had to postpone her concerts in Poland, but we did find out where she was for most of last week. Lara went to Russia where she was one of the guests of the owner of the "Group Alliance", Musa Bazhaev,, who celebrated his 50th birthday Wednesday night in Moscow, at the Olympic Stadium. Lara sang Je t’aime ", “Adagio” and " Love Like a Dream (in Russian), accompanied by Igor Krutoy on piano. The Lara Fabian Web site and ‘lfta’ provided links to some videos of the event:

while further short videos were available on Instagram (thanks to the LFIAG Select site, among others, for the links), from Jonathan Jenvrin,
and from Oleg_Yartsev
The Lara Fabian est ton autre site had some pictures of Lara with several people at the event, available at:

A small article, including the Instagram version of the powerful ‘Je t’aime” linked above can be found at:
ren.tv/novosti/2016-05-12/na-yubilee-oligarha-musy-bazhaeva-spela-lara-fabian
It reads (in translation):
------------------------------------------------
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the tycoon Musa Bazhaev Lara Fabian sang.
The Francophone diva sang her hit "Je t'aime" to the accompaniment of the Russian musician Igor Krutoy.
Widespread celebration for the "Alliance Group" owner of the anniversary was held in the capital's sports complex "Olympic", for which the event was guarded by a detachment of riot police.
------------------------------------------------
I would imagine Lara does not often get to sing in the presence of riot police! No explanation is given of why they were needed...
Obviously Lara and Igor Krutoy are now back on a firm footing with each other, and she has now rejoined his ‘coterie’ for Russian events/private parties. That gives hope for future projects between them – perhaps one of the ‘important projects’ hinted at last week by Lara’s Team. If Lara actually had to leave for the Russian event last Monday, that would explain why she missed Eva Longoria’s charity [but even that doesn’t really make sense, as the Russian date would have been set up in advance, while Lara was still acting as if she would be at the charity concert up to several hours prior to it]. It would not explain the cancellations in Poland; the ‘important projects’ responsible for that are still to be divulged.
Another thing Lara has been doing has been writing the Preface for a book by 'Anne van Stappen', entitled "Ne marche pas si tu peux danser" [Don’t walk if you can dance] ( Éditions Jouvence). The text was provided by the author (http://www.annevanstappen.be/2016/05/11/pr%C3%A9face-de-lara-fabian/); here’s the translation:
----------------------------------------------------
In this story, what touches me deeply is the enthusiasm and charisma of Sophia, the heroine, and especially the naturalness with which she seems to pretty quickly embody the Nonviolent Communication (NVC). And even if she has a guide, who in the background transmits benevolent strategies to implement to curb "her enthusiasm", Sophia seems to be inhabited by a fire within, a deep aspiration to contribute to the welfare of others. It is almost genetic in her, one might say!
At the heart of the humanistic approach which is NVC, cornerstone of this novel, at the center of the path of universal benevolence destined to make us more genuine and compassionate with oneself and others, there is for me a wonderful hope: the hope that in each of us resides, beyond any guide, any injury, of any conflict, the best of what we are intrinsically and the best of what we could be: real humans, filled with love and imbued with respect for life! This book, both inspiring and moving, leads us, in the light, to feel and reveal our goodness of being.
Lara Fabian - Waterloo - April 2016
---------------------------------------------------
According to their website, (https://www.cnvc.org/):
--------------------------------------------------------------
“Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is based on the principles of nonviolence-- the natural state of compassion when no violence is present in the heart.
NVC begins by assuming that we are all compassionate by nature and that violent strategies—whether verbal or physical—are learned behaviors taught and supported by the prevailing culture. NVC also assumes that we all share the same, basic human needs, and that each of our actions are a strategy to meet one or more of these needs.
People who practice NVC have found greater authenticity in their communication, increased understanding, deepening connection and conflict resolution.
The NVC community is active in over 65 countries around the globe.
---------------------------------------------------------------
As Lara indicated in her preface, simply having NVC as a goal is not sufficient to achieve the goal – she refers to, in the novel, the ‘guide’ who helps ‘restrain enthusiasms’ – but certainly with information and training, its objective can be better realized. This is a perfect philosophy for Lara to align herself with – although, ironically, this was released at the same time as she was being protected by riot police! The gap between the ideal and the actual...
In other news, you probably know that the Eurovision contest was held this past week. Lara went on record urging support for the French candidate Amir,
----------------------------
To all my friends across Europe.. Please take a minute tonight to vote for my friend Amir , and his great song "J'ai cherché" at tonight's Eurovison Song Contest. Let us unite our forces and give 12 points to France tonight, to break the spell and bring this great European party in 2017 to the City of Lights, Paris.”
----------------------------
and she even participated briefly in a video to that effect, from the show "Alcaline l'instant" d'Amir “, available at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=meFjWz_X0iM
On her FB site, in response, she was chastised for not supporting the Belgian candidate, at which point Lara then added her name (‘Laura Tesoro’) to the request for support. As it turned out the winner, Jamala, was from Ukraine, and Lara passed on congratulations to her. When Lara was then asked whether she would be coming to give a concert in Kiev this year, her team answered, “Or another city… Maybe Odessa, we'll see …”. And sure enough, an advertisement for a concert in Odessa on October 18th went up today on Lara’s site (https://www.facebook.com/events/117241092024824/).
Lara’s album ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ continues to drop on the French charts, now down to #105 (in physical CDs), while it is still hovering at #18 in Belgium. Even though ‘Ton desir’ has now been officially released as a single

This coming week, Lara will give a live interview on 'Vivacite in Concert'
(http://www.rtbf.be/vivacite/emissions/detail_vivacite-en-concert/accueil/article_une-heure-d-interview-et-de-live-avec-lara-fabian-c-est-samedi-dans-vivacite-en-concert?id=9295946&programId=5816). The blurb reads (in translation):
-----------------------------------------------
This Saturday (5/21), Lara Fabian shares a unique moment with you in VivaCité in concert from 18h.
The new edition of her latest album ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ includes a live DVD recorded in Prague, a best-of show called Un soir autour du monde. Lara interprets there her greatest hits: Immortelle, J’y crois encore, Je t’aime, Adagio, etc. For an hour, she delivers anecdotes about the creation of these songs at the microphone of Bruno Tummers.
A rare moment to share with Lara from 18h on Viva.
----------------------------------------------------
On her official site, Lara’s team notes that to hear this live, from 19-20h local time, outside of Belgium, go to www.rtbf.be/radio/liveradio/vivacite. Note that despite the title, this is not a concert, but an interview. Also be careful about the timing – the blurb above from RTBF said 1800, while Lara’s team says 1900. Hopefully this will be clarified, but I have to believe the station has got it right. [This is not simply the difference between Belgium and GMT, since Belgium is GMT+2 hours].
Other than that, her next scheduled concert dates, back in France, start in early June. Before then we’ll see if ‘Ton desir’ takes off as a single, and helps revitalize the album sales. And perhaps some dates for the ‘world tour’ will start being filled in, since Lara’s team continues to promise that will be done soon.
