As expected, the news this past week largely pivoted back to Lara’s career, with a notable TV appearance and preparations for her coming tour (starting tomorrow!). Lara’s appearance on the ‘DiCaire show featured two performances. Of most interest was a “vocal battle” with Veronic DiCaire , the video visible at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKoSNj1a53c
The idea was that Veronic would sing one of Lara’s songs in the voice of some other singer, while Lara would sing a hit from that same singer. The singers being ‘mimicked’ were Sylvie Vartan and Vanessa Paradis.
An article describing this, as well as the show in general can be found at (http://www.terrafemina.com/article/dicaire-show-impressionnante-battle-vocale-entre-lara-fabian-et-veronic-dicaire-video_a306407/1); here’s the translation:

DiCaire Show: impressive vocal battle between Lara Fabian and Véronic DiCaire
This Saturday, March 12, the Quebec imitator received fifteen artists for the first of her special shows called the DiCaire Show.
After her very noticeable participation on the show Dancing with the Stars on TF1, the singer with a thousand voices returned yesterday to perform in France for a special on France 2. For this ‘American’ show, Véronic DiCaire gathered many personalities of song and humor. She received for some duets on their finest songs, singers Patrick Bruel, Véronique Sanson, Axelle Red or comedians Anne Roumanoff and Anthony Kavanagh.
The opportunity for the star of the imitation of the greatest French voices to confront the real model. Thus, the wife of Remon Boulerice has embarked on a real vocal battle with Lara Fabian. The Canadian artist started this great performance by the title "Tout", but as sung by Syvie Vartan. Lara Fabian continued with "L'amour c'est comme une cigarette". The Canadian then reprised her famous "Je t’aime", this time ‘sung’ by the voice of Vanessa Paradis. Finally, Lara Fabian finished this strange moment with the hit "Tandem".
In addition, this bonus was an opportunity for France 2 to officially announce the name of the singer who will represent France at the next Eurovision Song Contest. As revealed by Cyril Hanouna on D8, he is a former candidate for ‘The Voice’, Amir. He began the evening by performing his track "J'ai cherché"
-------------------------------------------------------------
We know Veronic DiCaire is a wonderful mimic, but Lara held her own vocally, and these were all wonderfully done. There’s an emblematic picture of their ‘duet’ from the Lara Fabian – PHQ site, visible at:
scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/t31.0-8/775100_830974870382521_7666217287083342293_o.jpg
[If one wants to see an original performance of ‘L’amour c’est comme une cigarette’ by Sylvia Vartan it can be viewed at www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuP6XlWLJCI, while ‘Tandem’ by Vanessa Paradis, can be found at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0vyMEybM-c].
On the show, Lara also presented ‘L’oubli’ (lip-synched), available at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyJ_ymj34SM
As to why ‘L’oubli’ was lip-synched, one hopes that is not a forerunner of what she will be doing on her tour. Lara’s team addressed this issue with the following (translated) response to a question about it from Sophie Riffet:
------------------------------------
Hello Sophie, there are technical parameters, depending on the production, the schedule of the passage / program promo of the day, duration of track / availability of musicians, sound engineer, budgetary issue of the production of the show, (a live requires more, especially when there is a need for musicians)) and others.. In addition, Lara has nothing to prove about the level of her voice capacity, isn't that true? We understand that the fans prefer Lara "live", she does also. But even in playback [lip-synch], it is the voice of Lara. For info: Lara sang this title ‘Live’ on the stage. Those who were in the audience can confirm it. But what was broadcast by the channel, it was the recorded version. That’s all. And above all, don’t forget: the tour starts in 3 days [at the time of this reply]. Team Lara
---------------------------------------
This did not end the conversation. ‘Steph Gamet’ noted that almost all the other artists did sing live. Lara’s team responded that that wasn’t true, saying that “some of the presentations that seemed live were pre-recorded in ‘live-like’ conditions. And each case is different.” To relieve fan’s concerns, they also then added that this remained a TV broadcast, it was not a concert. In a later post they noted that “people should keep in mind what this song means to Lara, what it means to present it live before an audience”. One imagines that will make for a very emotional moment in her concerts.
Actually, the whole show was wonderful, and there are many clips of it on Youtube. Lara herself was enthusiastic ahead of time, as one could see in this promo clip:
One would say that Lara feels a ‘Quebecoise’ relationship with Veronic, who has been her friend for some time.
Meanwhile, preparations for the tour continue; Lara posted 2 photos on her FB site with the caption “Rehearsing”
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1080974078610755/?type=3&theater
and

and two more on her Twitter site, with the same moniker
In other tour-related items, Lara’s team released the following (translated) comment:
----------------------------------------------------
Hello to everyone and to all! We receive hundreds of requests for Lara to make for you a personal message on stage during a concert, or a personalized video tape to celebrate an important event (wedding, birthday..) Or to have a few minutes backstage with Lara before or after a concert.. . Even if each request is important, don't forget that you are very, very, very many to ask for special attention. It is virtually impossible to give you a favorable response to these requests. It is for this reason that we organize regularly with the media partners some opportunities of meeting (Showcase, signing events..). Thank you for your understanding. Team Lara
---------------------------------------------------------
To showcase how ‘surrounded’ Lara is by people’s requests, they chose a picture (most likely) from Lara’s performance of ‘La Difference’ among the audience on the ‘Nue” tour DVD
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1082224085152421/?type=3&theater
In other tour related news, there is this (translated) comment from Olivier Ciappa (of ‘Imaginary Couples’ fame): “For those of you who will be going to the French and International tour of Lara Fabian, you will have a very beautiful surprise (https://www.facebook.com/ciappa.olivier/). [Thanks to ‘Isabelle Kassis on the MZ FB site for the link]. One could imagine there might be pictures on a screen behind Lara, as she has done on past tours (e.g., for ‘The Wind Beneath My Wings’ on the TLFM tour), but we’ll soon find out.
Some fans in France have complained that Lara’s concert tour is not serving her fans in the southwest portion of the country. Lara’s Team responded that more concerts are still planned, so they should be patient. The same reply was given to a request for Lara to come to London, Montreal, News York City, Strasbourg, Alsace... The request for concerts in Turkey got a partially different response, that those dates would soon be announced (just be a little patient). While on the surface the fans’ demands might appear irritating, it’s actually very positive (as Lara’s team undoubtedly understands) that people want Lara to come!
More concretely, there is news that Lara will be returning to Russia (http://www.biletmarket.ru/events/46544/Lara_Fabian_bilety?utm_source=FB&utm_medium). Here’s the (translated) report:

So it looks like whatever interrupted Lara’s normal yearly trips to Russia has been overcome.
With the beginning of the tour, Lara has started doing interviews in places where she will appear; of course, they're also to promote the album. One such appeared in “Les Notes d’Aymeric” (http://lesnotesdaymeric.com/2016/03/15/les-confidences-de-lara-fabian-lalbum-ma-vie-dans-la-tienne-sa-tournee-ses-coups-de-coeur/) associated in a general sense with her upcoming concert in Lyon (June 4th) [thanks to the MZ FB site for the link]. Here’s the translation:

The Confidences of Lara Fabian: The album "Ma vie dans la tienne," Her Tour, Her Favorites ...
When they told me I was going to carry out the interview with Lara Fabian, I could not contain my joy.
The artist passing through Lyon to promote her latest album "Ma vie dans la tienne" which appeared last November agrees to only a few media interviews.
In her twelfth album, Lara Fabian engages her audience like never before. Co-wrote and co-composed with David Gategno and Elodie Hesme, the 11 songs of this album are adorned with striking choruses and catchy melodies.
Friday, February 19, I therefore visited the Radio MFM Lyon premises to go to meet her. The opportunity to come back with her news on her projects and music memorabilia.
An interview to read now!
The interview with Lara Fabian:
SIDE A :
Hello Lara, it is with a certain pleasure that I am fortunate today to receive you on the blog.
First question, how are you?
Lara: Very well, thank you. And yourself ?
It also goes very well, thank you.
After over 2 years of absence due to a hearing problem, you made your comeback with a new album on November 6, tell us about this record?
Lara: "Ma vie dans la tienne", it speaks of the joys, of the great moments of life in a positive sense, as also sometimes in the more dark sense. It is a collection of large letters written in full gratitude that aims to be a kind of manifestation of love and of thanks to the people who in my very close entourage have been very important at the time when it was more difficult. If I had to describe "Ma vie dans la tienne," I'd say it's a little part of my intimacy never revealed but perhaps with much greater simplicity, much like one would speak directly to someone without preoccupying oneself so much about the form but favoring the content.
After listening, I found this album sounded somewhat like a rebirth, am I right?
Lara: Yes, it's true, I find also.
Check out the new clip Lara Fabian, "Oblivion"! A strong title in which the singer evokes the neurodegenerative disease from which her mother suffers
You will leave on tour throughout France beginning the month of March, you look forward to returning to the stage?
Lara: I can not wait, truly can not wait. It is a place where things all make their ultimate sense, since they put us back where we want to be, that is to say in connection with the public. It is a little the sense of everything we do, it's a little lighthouse on the horizon when doing this job.
What would you tell the blog readers to make them want to come to see you on this tour?
Lara: I would say it is a show where the password will be to connect with each other to transmit an emotion with which he can leave and travel.
Lara Fabian where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Lara: It is rather "I see myself how? "Because 'where', that does not really matter. I would say that I see myself serene, happy, calm, always being able to go do things with this surge of joy that characterizes me and those surrounding me.
Your plans for the future?
Lara: There is a tour abroad that couples to the French one. We already have a lot of dates outside of Europe and in the United States, in countries of the East, in Canada. There will equally be things in Spain, England, Poland, Hungary, I'm a little bit everywhere between now and end-2016 and also early-2017.
I also heard about a musical project ...
Lara: Yes, it's true! It remains something that is dear to me but at the same time we need to spend a lot of time and that represents a real stop. As we are in the exploitation of this album, it's hard to ask for 1 month or 2 so as to go write but I really want in any case to be able to tell this story.
SIDE B:
Your first musical memory?
Lara: This is a song by Nicole Rieu called "Je m’envole" for which my parents had bought the 45 record and that touched me particularly.
Your first musical favorite?
Lara: It was Barbara Streisand in the movie "Yentl," I was 12. From there, I was very inspired by this being, her career and her multifaceted talent.
Conversely, your last musical favorite?
Lara: It's definitely between Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith. I love the incredible organicity of Ed Sheeran and melancholy in the voice of Sam Smith, they are two people to whom I am really listening now.
The first song you sang?
Lara: "Mamy Blue" by Roger Whittaker! At the time, I heard only the whistles, it was the American version. In Europe, it was Nicoletta who sang it and me, I heard the whistling by Roger Whittaker and I sang this song regularly.
The first record you bought?
Lara: The first record I bought myself with money I had saved was “Entre gris clair et gris foncé” by Jean-Jacques Goldman.
The song that makes you cry?
Lara: "Voir un ami pleurer" of Jacques Brel.
The song that rather makes you dance?
Lara: "Dancing Queen" by ABBA.
The song you can sing entirely from memory?
Lara: There are many! I will cite a huge classic, "Over the Rainbow" by Judy Garland, it's really a song that belongs to jazz music heritage but at a time, there has also been "Careless Whisper" by George Michael and lately it is a song by Tina Arena that I find extraordinary it is called "Lie in it" on her latest album "Eleven".
Your best stage memory?
Lara: The Arena of Nimes, 13 August 2001, when 7,000 people sing "Je t’aime" in my place! (Laughs)
Your musical fantasy?
Lara: It would probably be to share a moment with Ed Sheeran.
If you had the means to have a super power, any, your choice to focus on?
Lara: Being able to arouse in everyone a bit of joy that would make her life sweeter.
What can you wish for the future?
Lara: Health, serenity, joy and to always be surrounded by my family.
I give you carte blanche for the last word, it is yours ...
Lara: And if we sing?
PLAYLIST OF LARA FABIAN:
At the end of each interview, the blog asks the guest to reveal what lies inside her PlayList. So, she listens to what, Lara Fabian?
The PlayList of Lara Fabian is also available on Deezer and Soundsgood.
1. Photograph (Ed Sheeran)
2. I’m Not the Only One (Sam Smith)
3. Mamy Blue (Roger Whitaker)
4. Voir un ami pleurer (Jaques Brel)
5. Dancing Queen (ABBA)
6. Over the Rainbow (Judy Garland)
7. Careless Whisper (George Michael)
8. Lie In It (Tina Arena)
A huge thank you to Lara Fabian for her answers and her kindness, to her press secretary Jérôme Brucker for his confidence and to Bertrand Fissot of MFM Radio who made this interview possible.
----------------------------------------------------
Presumably, one can expect more such interviews as the tour progresses. We get to learn a lot about Lara, since she is so forthcoming.
And in that same vein - with reference to last week’s revelation of the relevance of ‘L’oubli’ to Lara’s mother’s illness, there were some additional comments. Most noteworthy were those of Rick Allison, translated below (from the scan provided by the MZ FB site):
-----------------------------------------------------------------
It takes a certain courage to express what her family lives, and to write a song about it. Respect Lara, you do not do things half-way, but fully, and I am moved. I’ve known Luisa, an exceptional woman, loving, strong and bright ... I testify to her my love for those indelible moments of us, thank you. Her idols Streisand and St. Clair and her laughter with endless echoes, life offers inspiration and you, you are one of them. One thing is certain, her heart remembers more things than her mind clouds over, my last moment with her is a dinner alone with her in Venice, where I found her, and that evening, what she told me I'll always remember ... me too Louisa! Chicho
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lara then responded (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10207816557323584&set=gm.1153227244721386&type=3&theater):
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
La mamma "as you loved to call her', is in effect above all, what remains of us... I will read her your words…even if 13 years of silence is a lot ... some 'great stories' remain indelible for the memory of the heart ... she is the proof of it... I hope you are happy. sincerely. L.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The MZ site also noted that Lara changed her message several times; the message originally started out with “That truly touched me…thanks Rick”.
Regardless, a wonderful interaction between the two of them…
In a less personal report, “Charts in France” had the following notice (http://www.chartsinfrance.net/Lara-Fabian/news-101200.html#3xoWxygzH0VoKPYX.99):
-----------------------------------------------------
“L’oubli": Lara Fabian makes a touching clip with her mother, suffering from Alzheimer's
"L’oubli" is the new single from the latest album of Lara Fabian, "Ma vie dans la tienne." In the clip, the singer went behind the camera to film her family, including her mother, suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Look !
Lara Fabian pursues the exploitation of her latest album "Ma vie dans la tienne," sold nearly 80,000 copies. The singer has decided to open up her heart, as evidenced by the singles "Quand je ne chante pas", referring to her recovery after a terrible auditory shock, and "Ma vie dans la tienne", referring to the strong ties that unite her with her best friend. Henceforth it's "L’oubli" which was chosen to take over. If this is a classic piano ballad, her subject, it touches from the early words.
"This is not a music video, but a visual record"
"L’oubli as a stalemate on the actions that hurt / Forgetting as she displaces her past, her sadness / Forgetting on the surface is what makes us suffer / But it is on the inside that it takes hold” Lara Fabian sings on this song co-written with Elodie Hesme (Jenifer, Tina Arena, Celine Dion ...) about Alzheimer's disease from which her mother suffers. "When a loved one is affected by a neurodegenerative disease, the loving look that is placed on it, on her, and our family is what remains stronger, even in a full storm, submerged by grief and loss, even when words fail us ... It's that look that changes everything ', she wrote on Facebook to accompany the video for "L’oubli".
For the occasion, Lara Fabian has gone behind the camera, in order to stage those close to her and even her own family. "This is not a music video, but a visual record. There is nothing commercial, I have nothing to sell, "she has told ‘Le Parisian’, explaining that the video would not be broadcast on television but simply on social networks. "I put a camera on a tripod. I asked each member of my family to sit down and look at the camera as if watching my mom," said the singer. The film also ends with an image of Luisa, her mother: "I hesitated to put it. That's why it appears only once. I asked her. She agreed. All that I do around that song, she knows it. "
Julien GONCALVES
---------------------------------------------------------
The comments of readers following this article wonder why Lara says this whole episode is not commercial, when the song was sent to radio shows, and the video at least publicized (BTW, it’s now on youtube, at www.youtube.com/watch?v=44Byc2B6aBs). And it’s true, she does have something to sell with this album, but she also has a desire to publicize the problems with this disease, so as to make her mother’s illness serve a larger cause.
Still in the commercial vein, on the French charts it is listed that there have been approximately 80,000 copies sold (as noted in the article), after 18 weeks, with the new album at #111 (physical CDs) and #160 including digital (as of the time of this writing, it is #71 on iTunes). However, it has been reported (by the ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’ site) that the album has been awarded ‘Platinum’ status, which would indicate 100,000 copies sold (I haven’t seen actual verification of that). ‘L’oubli’ as a single is #189 on iTunes and it’s not yet clear how much effect it has had on overall album sales. In Belgium the album has dropped to #29.
The re-edition of this album, still scheduled for March 25th, is now for sale on amazon.fr (http://www.amazon.fr/Vie-Dans-Tienne-Lara-Fabian/dp/B01BUBUDHC/), and they show what may well be the new cover
(http://www.amazon.fr/Vie-Dans-Tienne-Lara-Fabian/dp/B01BUBUDHC/). Note there is no longer any ‘enhanced virtual reality’ aspect to the cover. On that site the CD listing is exactly as it was originally, although the LFIAG site still claims that it will include the video for ”Ma vie dans la tienne’; the Concert in Prague; and the songs ‘Voce’ + ‘Non Coupable’. That may imply that these additional songs will be on the DVD rather than the CD, or perhaps more likely, the CD listing is not complete.
In other news, Lara will be one of the invitees (of which there are many) of Patrick Sebastien on March 26th, on France 2, as indicated in the promo announcement
www.coulisses-tv.fr/index.php/divertissements/item/7415-%E2%80%9Cles-ann%C3%A9es-bonheur%E2%80%9D-sur-france-2-samedi-26-mars-les-invit%C3%A9s-de-patrick-s%C3%A9bastien?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
The program promises nostalgia and good humor, with artists presenting their little secrets and memories over the years.
Also don’t forget the ‘soon to be broadcast’ program of Lara with Thomas Van Hamme, on RTL TVI, whose promo for it stated, “Still a little patience friends.“ That caption and a wonderful photo for the show can be seen at:
www.facebook.com/ThomasVanHamme/photos/a.243660835671289.50200.218209788216394/957589057611793/?type=3&theater
The impression we have is that this is an intimate conversation between them; one wonders if Lara told him about the relevance of ‘L’oubli’ to her mother – and if that public revelation required them to re-edit the program.
In less positive news, ‘Le Parisien’ reported that ‘Vivement Dimanche’, hosted by Michel Drucker, will be discontinued in September,
www.leparisien.fr/tv/drucker-officialise-l-arret-de-vivement-dimanche-11-03-2016-5617173.php#xtref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.fr%2F
This show has lived a ‘Perils of Pauline’ existence for some time, and on each occasion of its imminent demise we thought back to all of Lara’s wonderful appearances on it. With this timing, it’s not clear we will have anymore.
Interesting photo(s) of the week:
A beautiful photo of Lara posted on her website,

Clearly destined to be one of her classic photos, it appears to be in association with the upcoming tour.

And finally, a wonderful picture/video from Lara Fabian Mexico showing Lara’s transformation through the ages – magical, and not to be missed,

The beginning of Lara’s tour can be expected to dominate the news in the next few weeks (along with the coming re-release of the new album + bonus components). For those unable to attend, hopefully there will be videos available. We’ll see what creative aspects Lara has come up with!

and two more on her Twitter site, with the same moniker

----------------------------------------------------------
So it looks like whatever interrupted Lara’s normal yearly trips to Russia has been overcome.
-----------------------------------------------------------
The Confidences of Lara Fabian: The album "Ma vie dans la tienne," Her Tour, Her Favorites ...

A beautiful photo of Lara posted on her website,
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1082864368421726/?type=3&theater
