A week with a few events associated with the new album, a relative ‘calm before the storm’. We will start with an event that has yet to happen: Lara will have a live ‘Twitter’ session on Friday, at 15:30 [GMT+1] hour, in which she, or her team, will respond to various questions. Those already asked can be seen at: (https://twitter.com/hashtag/asklara?f=tweets&vertical=default&src=hash). You’ll need a Twitter account, and post your question on your page including #ASKLARA, then ‘Tweet’ it. It will show up at the above link. As one can imagine, there are already many many questions (and will likely be many more), so the odds of getting any particular one answered are not great. One can imagine that the more probing ones will have an even worse chance ; however, nothing ventured…
Back to events that have already happened. There were a few interviews of note, and also an early review of the album. First, Lara gave an interview for ‘Femme Actuelle’. A news report of it can be seen at m.femmeactuelle.fr/culture/news-culture/lara-fabian-ma-vie-dans-la-tienne-24712#xtref=http://m.facebook.com
while just the video of the actual interview is at:

Here’s the translation of the article:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a Lara Fabian "calm and serene", quite thin and all smiles, who we met Tuesday to mark the release of her latest album "Ma vie dans la tienne", in stores November 6 (Warner).
A beautiful meeting at which she confided to us with an open heart. She told us all and without taboos. She returns to her hearing problems, which are no more than "an old bad memory", speaks fondly of her eight year old daughter Lou for whom she wrote the song "Le cœur qui tremble", and that she goes to look for her at her school like any mom without hat or sunglasses. She recognizes that she can happen to be "a pain in the ass, losing her way as they say in Quebec" and even gives us some poignant confidences about her marriage to Gabriel Di Giorgio, the magician whom she married in 2013, and to whom she will "give her whole self." Why does she sing for him, "I'll be your desire, your doll, your cashmere sweater, your moment of pleasure, your sweet and savory desire, your audacity your crazy laughter, your tree in July?" Because "life with him it's magic", of course!
In short, Lara Fabian is luminous. As [are] the eleven songs from her twelfth album on which she worked for a year and a half.
-------------------------------------------------------
The video itself had some complementary comments. These included:
**The two happiest days of her life were her wedding day and when Lou was born – never had she laughed and cried as much at the same time. Gabriel wrote Lara a letter declaring his love for her and read it aloud to the guests.
**Lou converted the words of the song “Emilie Jolie” from the musical comedy, and Lara sang it at the wedding.
**Lara spoke of Gabriel as being a great empathizer with people, and that “He’s like an angel fallen from the sky who covered her with his wings” – words included in 'L’illusioniste'.
**Concerning her hearing problems, she indicated that she now hears music differently, with her body as well as her ears.
**She agreed that she like other women has to play a lot of different roles today (mother, women, artist).
**Of interest was the idea that Lara goes to pick up Lou without any disguise, or makeup, looking a bit ‘crumpled’ – people get used to it, it becomes commonplace.
Perhaps a little worrying was the writer’s observation that Lara was quite thin – we know she has had eating issues. Hopefully she can keep them in check.
Then another interview (http://www.public.fr/News/Belgique/Lara-Fabian-retour-gagnant-856361), translated below:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian: Winning Return
"My life in yours" is the title of the new album of Lara Fabian returning stronger than ever. Cured of sudden deafness of which she was a victim but above all changed by this painful life experience, the singer opens her heart and confides on this project.
Tell us of this new album ...
LF: It speaks of all the joys, sorrows and any positive or negative emotions that one may be led to feel in life. This album tells the story with songs that are written in the tradition of the great popular melodies with lyrics that connect us to each other quite directly.
What are its different precedents?
LF: I think every album, whatever it is, is different from the others because it corresponds to a time in which it is bound and with which it is in phase. This comes at a time when I wanted to resume direct contact with my audience. The title "My Life in yours" represents my life, this is what it consists of.
The cover is, also, different from the others...
LF: Yes, in effect. It’s a matter of photograms worked by Phil Macquet which is based on existing pictures to make of them a true work of art. It uses a raster technique to achieve this result. Thanks to its incredible technique, fans who purchase the album will through a smartphone application that they will place in front of the cover, ensure that the image comes to life.
How was filming the clip?
LF: Very good. We tried to do something very human, touching and true. We utilized the lights as a language so that it tells a story. For me, "Ma vie dans la tienne," is above all to touch people.
You grazed deafness last year. How have you experienced this painful moment?
LF: Very bad, I will not hide it. The first two days, it's the drama then you learn to live differently. When I was told that it was reversible, I did everything to get out and I succeeded. At the same time, I also had the opportunity to do things of which I had lost the habit. Find myself, spend time with family ... it's an experience that taught me a lot about myself. A sort of blessing in disguise, one episode to leave behind today.
You also participate in various charity events. Do you think an artist ought to do this?
LF: It is necessary to do it when one really wants to and when one is guided by the heart. I find it tremendous to put our reputation at the service of different causes, but it must be done voluntarily and not by duty.
You are also very active on social networks. What do you think of these new ways to communicate with your audience?
LF: I find it fantastic! My Facebook page and my other accounts allow me to share and to remain constantly connected to my fans who write to me in numbers. It also allows us to manage what we want to talk about and what should remain private. But be careful, you must not become a slave.
What is the song in your repertoire of which you are most proud?
LF: I do not like talking too much of pride but in any case, the one that suits me the most is without doubt "Pas sans toi." This song connects me to the public in a very special way because it touches me enormously.
Speaking of the public, what connection do you have with that of Belgium?
LF: It's a very strong bond and very particular. Belgium is my country and I have always felt a kind of benevolence on the part of the Belgians to me. It reassures me and it is the one who knows me best.
Your best meeting?
LF: My husband Gabriel is my greatest meeting because he is a rare being. But from a professional point of view, I think Johnny Hallyday marked me a lot.
The duo yet to do in your career?
LF: I would say Michael Bublé, I would love to sing with him. Moreover, one day he squeezed my hand saying 'maybe one day ...' He's an exceptional artist whom I admire a lot.
To see Lara in concert: 18 March 2016 in Brussels at Bozar - 19 March 2016 in Liege Forum - March 20, 2016 in Antwerp Stadsschouwburg

A short video showing Lara and the aforementioned Phil Macquet can be seen at:

Then an actual review of the new album appeared (http://www.aufeminin.com/actualite-musicale/ma-vie-dans-la-tienne-lara-fabian-s1616197.html). It reads (in translation):
-----------------------------------------------------------
Ma vie dans la tienne, the romantic album of Lara Fabian
Marion Dalle
Lara Fabian returns with a new album called ' Ma vie dans la tienne’ which leaves on November 6. While the song of the same name is already unveiled as well as the title ‘Quand je ne chante pas’, the writer speaks to you about the new album that marks the return of the singer two years after 'Le Secret '.
Dear fans (and others), note 6 November in your agendas, the day of the release of the new album of Lara Fabian. Ma vie dans la tienne, co-wrote and co-composed with David Gategno and Elodie Hesme, includes 11 titles through which the singer opens up, always with much assurance. Rhythmic songs and striking choruses: Lara Fabian sets the tone in this album with catchy and romantic melodies.
We dance on ‘Ton Desir’, we hum on ‘Envie d’en rire’, we make statements on ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’, we emote on ‘Releve-toi’, we raise the sound in the car on ‘Elle dance’, we embrace each other on ‘Le Desamour’, we dream on L’illusioniste. Finally, we sing in the shower to the rhythm of ‘Quand je ne chante pas’, a catchy title dedicated to fans of the singer.
Special mention for the cover of the album produced by Phil Macquet. An image innovative and high-color that speaks volumes about the character of the album.
The cover is interactive. Digital markers are hidden in the display. Pixels spotted by the rear camera of your smartphone or tablet. The augmented reality provides access to unprecedented visual and sound animations.
To experience it, download the app Lara Fabian thanks to the code on the back cover. Once the app is downloaded, move your smartphone on the cover.
And that's not all, surprise for fans of Lara Fabian: November 6 is also the day a concert of her latest world tour will be broadcast on the big screen, a project entitled ‘Un soir autour du monde’. While waiting to listen to the album of the singer and discover the pictures of her tour, discover the video of ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’.
--------------------------------------------------------
Not an in-depth review by any means, but, so far so good. If all the reviews are that positive, Lara should be quite pleased.
In other album-related news, Lara showed off the picture of herself from the ‘Fan deluxe boxset’, at
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1002362879805209/?type=3&theater
along with the caption, “The first copy of the boxset is here! Almost sold out, there remain no more than a few copies. Fans, pre-order the Fan deluxe boxset now at smarturl.it/LaraFabianMVDLTYT
The latest single, ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ is not doing so well on the charts – after one week at #102 in France, it has dropped to #175. In Belgium, it spent one week at #44, and is now gone.
However, if one wants to assess Lara’s popularity overall on ‘social networks’ – and that means counting worldwide fans, not just in France – she is 12th on the list of the most popular French (language) singers, with 1.05 million fans (counting both Facebook and Twitter) (http://urban-fusions.fr/news/shym-tal-indila-top-25-chanteuses-populaires-reseaux-sociaux-2210/). This is up 5 places in the last year. We’ll see if that translates into sales for this new album relevant for the French/Belgium charts. That will be more difficult if in fact sales from outside of these countries are not counted, but undoubtedly Warner France will keep track of all of them.
An illustration of this international component can be seen on a video put together by the Lara Fabian – PHQ site using musical extracts from the album, and associated pictures, at:
www.facebook.com/353946178085395/videos/vb.353946178085395/762597647220244/?type=2&theater
It includes the following statement, translated and displayed on the ‘Lara Fabian Voice of Passion’ site, (https://www.facebook.com/LaraFabianTheVoiceOfPassion/photos/a.789993644349446.1073741860.720473304634814/1265953306753475/?type=3&theater):
"To all those who have always followed me from town to town and country to country around the world. I thank them for their strength, empathy, compassion, patience, protection, their love & their faith... you have made me what i am... I put my life in yours."
Lara
A number of the news items also concern the upcoming movie release, ‘Un soir autour du monde’, to be shown in general release on November 5th in Belgium, and November 6th in France (previews however are coming up this week). As noted in the last Update, there is a promo video at www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4tPTx17aaY. Lara’s team indicated that there will be ‘a surprise collaboration', i.e., “The film includes sequences of interviews, carried out with the collaboration of Frédéric Lopez!” He is a television host on France 2 known for his mellow approach – these will likely be amicable interviews. A picture of the two of them was posted on Lara’s site, at:
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/1004036986304465/?type=3&theater
In response to a question on Lara’s FB site of whether the movie will also come out as a DVD, Lara’s team was equivocal. Their direct response was that three songs from it will be on the DVD accompanying the CD (on the ‘Deluxe edition’) [which answers the question of whether the full concert would be available there]. But they would go no further, preferring to repeat, several times, that to see it one has to go to the theatre. Obviously, if they acknowledge a subsequent DVD release, it lessens the pressure for Lara’s fans to see it in the movies, and the last thing Lara wants are half-empty theaters for the one day showing (or the previews, several days earlier). Is it possible that it will not be released subsequently? Not very likely, for what would be the point? To go to the trouble of filming it and then limit the audience to a one-day showing? But it makes perfect sense not to acknowledge that ahead of time. The fact is that it is hard to recall any movie filmed nowadays that does not subsequently show up, often a few months later, as a DVD or video download.
[Of course we do have something that is close to a precedent – the ‘Mademoiselle Zhivago’ movie itself, which was shown in several theaters in Moscow and Kiev for one performance, and then never again. But that wasn’t the initial plan, and it was only Lara’s resistance to allowing the movie’s distribution that reduced it to a somewhat incomplete, but still enticing, youtube video].
The date for the showing of the movie in Russia has been changed, as can be seen at cinemaemotion.ru/. The article reads:
------------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian. Evening around the world
Only November 20, you have a unique opportunity to enjoy one of the greatest voices of our time! Fans of the legendary Lara Fabian have an exclusive chance in Russian theaters to see her new show “Un Soir Autour Du Monde ...”

In other news, Lara will be in the studio of Mona FM this coming Thursday
(https://www.facebook.com/monafmnord/photos/a.254346402566.140709.254327027566/10153649471247567/?type=3&theater). Her ‘team’ put the following notice on their FB site, for those wanting to attend and win the ‘available places’:
** Facebook game **
We have for you a meeting with Lara Fabian in the studios of Mona FM.
Come and take part in the show, on Thursday, 29 October to 14 h30.
To play, nothing more simple:
1 / I like,
2 / I comment,

Good luck
So far 200 people have ‘played’ by replying on her site.
In some leftover news from Lara’s concert in Turkey, you may have noticed that Lara’s ‘team’ responded to last week’s News Update by clarifying that the ‘duet’ with ‘Fidan’ was spontaneous, not planned. That is now more evident on a video posted on youtube of her performance, available at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VfoTepVigQ
One can also now see a video of her performance there of ‘Je suis malade’
www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBhsRYaSVzU
and a 29 minute retrospective from the three nights in Turkey, with numerous segments
www.youtube.com/watch?v=h33o0JYy7a4
At the 6:40 point on that video one can hear Lara’s comments on the need for peace and healing (in response to the bombing in Ankara) as a prelude to ‘Angel’. Another interesting aspect was Lara trying to get men in Istanbul to sing (on 'I Will Love Again') at the ~9:56 minute mark. Notice that there was no duet shown; other than Fidan, probably none took place, despite the pre-concert reports. Maybe the political situation discouraged it.
Lara had a few charity activities announced; for one she will be appearing in support of APAJH Awards on November 10th, just a few days after her album’s release:
trophees.apajh.org/index.php/component/k2/item/186-lara-fabian-aux-troph%C3%A9es-apajh
According to their website (https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://trophees.apajh.org/&prev=search), “Since 2005, the APAJH Awards celebrate exemplary initiatives and best practices of businesses and organizations, whether private or public, to promote access and participation in social, cultural, sporting or professional people with disabilities."
In addition, Lara reaffirmed her support for ‘operation Télévie’
www.facebook.com/televie/photos/a.10150177683022226.319366.223511837225/10153623533832226/?type=3&theater
As indicated on their website, (https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.fnrs.be/index.php/mecenat-prix/l-operation-televie&prev=search), “Operation Télévie is a large solidarity movement, initiated in 1989, in favor of the FRS - FNRS, organized by RTL Belgium. The operation will help raise funds for scientific research in the fight against cancer and leukemia in children and in adults.”
As Lara said in her interview, one's heart should be in it to do 'charity work', and clearly anything involving children or the disabled appeals to her.
Interesting photo(s) of the week:

from the Lara Fabian est ton autre site, with Fidan:

and from Lara Fabian – PHQ:
www.facebook.com/353946178085395/photos/a.353954938084519.1073741828.353946178085395/761943587285650/?type=3&theater
A special note on photos: the FB site ‘La page des Fabianesk’ has a little game in which fans create ‘selfies’ holding up J-14, J-13, signs, etc. to count down the days to the new album’s release. Several times Lara has had picture games like that - such as in February of 2005, with a nude picture of herself encased in ice, and the ice melting as the days melted away before the launching of ‘Neuf’. These are not quite as dramatic as that, but cute none-the-less.
The next two weeks will be the biggest in several years for Lara and her Francophile career. This week features the preview showings of her movie of the Prague concert, “Un soir autour du monde". They will be in Brussels (10/28), Lille (10/29), Paris Geode (10/30 – which due to a ‘social movement’ had seemed somewhat uncertain), Paris Le Grand Rex (10/30) and Bordeaux (11/02). Lara will be at each one, although not to perform. By next week we’ll have the initial impressions of those who saw it. She’ll also be meeting fans and be interviewed at Mona FM. And then during next week the new album will be released, as well as country-wide showings of the film in France and Belgium, and additional media promotional opportunities (e.g., ‘Le Grand 8'). Exciting times for Lara and her fans – here’s hoping everything exceeds her greatest expectations!
