The big news this week was the release yesterday of the second single, ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’, from Lara’s upcoming album of the same name. The official lyric video is available at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hZZEHHcuUE
The single itself (digital version) is available on iTunes, Deezer, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play, and MusicMe, etc. – but for many of these, only in francophile countries. The cover pocket for this can be seen at:

In response to the question of whether there is really an actual physical CD that one could get that would fit in that cover, Lara’s team responded that, “there are almost no physical CDs of singles commercialized anymore”. In other words – no, although there may be versions sent to radio stations.
And here is a translation of the lyrics:

An amazing homage to Lara's friendship with ‘Natalie’, indicating also her belief that the relationships between ‘soul mates’ can have a variety of forms in different lives.
The words are as serious and personal as those from ‘Quand je ne chante pas’, so presumably that will be the tone of the album. In this case, the music matches the feeling of the lyrics. These two songs suggest that the album will be as soul-searching and honest as ‘Nue’.
So far it has gotten a very positive reaction from fans, who love the melody, singing and lyrics. It does remain to be seen whether such a song can garner attention in the frenetic current music marketplace. Here are some relevant (translated) articles in the press, first a review from ‘Charts in France’ (http://www.chartsinfrance.net/Lara-Fabian/news-98993.html):
-------------------------------------------------------
Ma vie dans la tienne: Lara Fabian reveals a touching and effective ballad
Lara Fabian revealed a new single from her sixthteenth album "My Life in yours", in stores November 6. Listen to it on Pure Charts!
Lara Fabian rewrites history through her new single "Ma vie dans la tienne", title track of her new album available on November 6. The singer recalls a bygone romance on an effective melody, punctuated by the strings, piano and drums. "I would put my life in yours / I would have stayed near you / elements which explode, you would have protected me," she sings without regret or sadness in her voice but with the vocal power that characterizes her. "Ma vie dans la tienne" comes in the wake of "Quand je ne chante pas", the first single from her album released earlier this year, but not without also recalling other pieces of her beginnings. During an interview with Radio MFM few months ago, Lara Fabian announced that her new titles would be written in the "tradition of the albums" that she did "in the past", citing her old records "Carpe Diem "(1994)," Pure "(1996) and" Nue"(2001).
Lara Fabian will count on an original album cover that should hold one’s attention. Directed by Philippe Macquet it was "developed with the latest technology of 'augmented reality'." "With the help of a simple smartphone application, the pocket 'comes to life' and allows you to access videos, pictures, messages and exclusive music content," said the singer of "J’y crois encore" on her Facebook page in revealing the cover last month, at the same time wiping up the criticisms of its "ugly" and “dated” appearance offered by some Internet users.
Be that as it may, the successor of "Le Secret" (2013) will be the object of a tour whose first dates have just been revealed. Lara Fabian will include stops in Marseille March 22, Nantes the 25th and Lyon on June 4. A unique concert is scheduled in the capital the day before, at the convention center. This will be the first performances of the singer since the cancellation of her last tour in 2014, following a serious hearing shock that had forced her to rest. Jonathan HAMARD
------------------------------------------------------
It would appear that Jonathan has no idea that it was written for ‘Natalie’ [which doesn’t invalidate his other comments, but is a bit surprising, since Lara has mentioned this several times]. Her ‘team’ sort of verified it when asked on her FB site, although they just said it was for her ‘best friend’ – one can speculate as to the reason for their lack of specificity.
Then, from ‘pitiblog’ (http://www.ptitblog.net/Lara-Fabian/lara-fabian-ecoutez-son-nouveau-single-ma-vie-dans-la-tienne_art12885.html) and Julien Piraud, who knew everything abut it:
--------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian: listen to her new single: "Ma vie dans la tienne"
While the Belgian singer is actively preparing her return to the shelves with the album ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’ announced for November 6, here she is today unveiling the single which gives its name to the album. A song tribute to her best friend that sticks to the theme of the album of paying tribute to those close to the singer. She will be on tour throughout France in 2016.
Although criticized in recent years, it should be noted that the enthusiasm of the fans is always there at the announcement of a new project of Lara Fabian. For this new album, she worked with the usual and will try to find favor with the French public. "Ma vie dans la tienne" is a ballad tribute to Natalie, her best friend always. Often shown on television, this friend in the shadow can today be proud to see herself saluted in music. An approach that illustrates the let-motif of this new project. After "Quand je ne chante pas", the singer also revealed the contents of her new project. With titles like "L'illusionniste" or "S'il ne reste qu'un ami", passing by "Elle danse" or again "Le désamour", Lara Fabian presents some notes on the sorrows she has known. A personal project therefore that will surely touch the hearts of fans of the genre. Small reservation for the melodies that seem to be outdated and which could rein in the project!
Will she happen to reconnect with the public and find her old place in the ranking of singers who sell the most records? The future will tell us with the imminent arrival of her new album in stores. Julien PIRAUD
--------------------------------------------------------
The last paragraph of course raises the big question. Lara and Warner France are sparing no effort to try to make that happen, but will lyric melodies, beautiful singing and very thoughtful lyrics make an impression in this day and age – with today’s audience in France?
There will also be a full-fledged video (as distinguished from the lyric video), to appear shortly. Lara posted a picture of the director of the music clip, Thierry Vergnes, who has previously worked with Celine Dion and Tina Arena. It can be seen at:
www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10206796300017512&set=gm.1066747500036028&type=3&theater
In related news, Lara’s ‘team’ responded to the questions concerning there being only ‘11’ titles on the new album, as seen in this poster:
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/991830947525069/?type=3&theater
Notably missing is the song ‘’Non coupable” [or it appears to be. Nicolas Navarro on the LFIAG site wondered whether "Non coupable" perhaps became "Envie d'en rire", a song that is listed. The remainder of this discussion is assuming that is not the case…]
Lara’s team gave this general (translated) comment: “On the issues about titles supposed to be "absent" in the tracklist: as for each album, there are dozens of titles recorded in "demo". The Artist makes her final selection. It's like this that an album is created. These are the 11 titles that Lara has co-written, co-composed and chosen for the album "Ma vie dans la tienne". Team Lara
The only problem with that dispassionate reply is that in the interview with Le Parisien (http://www.leparisien.fr/musique/video-lara-fabian-j-ai-retrouve-la-joie-de-chanter-15-06-2015-4862835.php), which we covered back in June, Lara had this interactive dialogue:
-------------------------------------------------------
LF: I feel I have found a new musical family with Elodie Hesme and David Gategno. We have made with this album that which we are in life. Everything seemed the first time. The first time you compose a song, that you record it ... This second chance in life, is quite exceptional. I savor the pleasure to sing it. What luck I have had!
Le Parisien: Hence the song " "Non coupable" [Not guilty], where you sing: "From all I am capable, even yelling “Je t’aime"...
LF: I even wanted to take it as first single, like a great laugh. No matter all that I have heard, I have found again the joy of singing and the desire to explore my voice. Not for the competition, to be me. But this song, it's not [only] that Lara, is also the girl in the company who changes her style to be accepted, it is the freedom to think, to express herself ... Who we may be, we should not apologize for being who we are.
--------------------------------------------------------
So it wasn’t just ‘one of dozens of titles’ that Lara seems to have omitted, it was the one that she defiantly considered having as the first single, and that she said was about giving her the freedom to express herself. Apparently (if it’s name hasn’t changed) she, or people with influence, had second thoughts about her doing that…Maybe it was thought to be too aggressive, flying in the face of French critics who have previously denigrated her ‘exploring her voice’; to make matters worse, reportedly, this title was sung very powerfully. If the ‘pitiblog’ article is correct, and the album is about the pains Lara has suffered, it would seem that this song belonged. If instead it is really about those who are close to her…maybe not. In any event, it sounds like it would have been good to hear her defend herself.
Some fans are hopeful that it will be included as a ‘bonus’ (perhaps on iTunes), or on the bonus ‘DVD’ that is supposed to accompany the CD. That would seem to be unlikely because as noted by the Lara Fabian – PHQ site, the ‘deluxe’ version of the album, as shown on ‘Google Play’ lists 13 titles, but the additional two are “C’est ma terre” and “Je vais revoir l’hiver”. [Interestingly, the fans knew about this before Lara’s team did…]. Speculation is that these last two songs could refer to Italy and Quebec. Note also that they are found only on the physical ‘deluxe’ CD version, the one that comes with the DVD – not on the digital ‘deluxe’ version of iTunes. Conversely, Lara’ ‘team’ commented on the ‘Operation Fan Club Lara Fabian’ site that the song ‘’Ton desir” will be made available for downloading on October 30th only for those who have preordered the album digitally (presumably on iTunes at least).
There are so many versions/options available of this album, both physical and digital, that one can be excused for being confused.
As to the question of what songs, exactly, will be on that accompanying DVD, Lara’s team replied that they do not yet have that information. One wonders, therefore, whether it is ready. According to FNAC, it will contain exclusive, unreleased songs composed by Igor Krutoi, perhaps those we’ve heard at the New Wave festival the last several years. If that happens, it will likely preclude a second ‘Mademoiselle Zhivago’ album with Krutoi, at least for the foreseeable future.

where it will be available starting November 6th. [It is an odd state of affairs, that often for European performers, their album is available in North America about one month after its appearance in Europe. Does it take that long for boats to carry it across the ‘pond’? It would seem to be a self-defeating delay, as by that time, the really interested parties will have gotten ahold of it somewhere else, either through ordering directly from Europe or the various forms of illegal downloads. Very strange…who can possibly benefit from this delay?]
Speaking of ‘Le Parisien’, the ‘Lara Fabian est ton autre’ site pointed to an article there about Elodie Hesme, who co-wrote the lyrics with Lara on this second single (http://m.leparisien.fr/magazine/week-end/musique-profession-parolier-24-09-2015-5123545.php#xtref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.leparisien.fr%2Fmagazine%2Fweek-end%2Fmusique-profession-parolier-24-09-2015-5123545.php). The main point of the article is that often these ‘wordsmiths’ are overlooked, while the singer is idolized. Here’s a relevant (translated) portion of the article:
----------------------------------------------------
"I arrived in Paris at 19, with texts by the arm", remembers Elodie Hesme, 42 years old. "I really wanted to work with Patrick Bruel. I had followed him to his particular hotel!" The older sister of actresses Clotilde and Annelise Hesme dreamed of writing for a singer.
Finally, she has made a specialty of working for women: "I do not remember who said it took ten years to become famous overnight. I abandoned my dream until a friend stumbled upon a text that I had left on my bed.” The song, ‘C’est de l’or’ seduced Calogero, who composes a melody. It all became a hit for Jenifer. The title ‘Je m'appelle Bagdad’, written after hearing the journalist Roger Auque talk about the war in Iraq, is also a success for its singer, Tina Arena.
Since then, Elodie Hesme puts her sensitivity to women's service. For Lara Fabian, whose new album comes out Nov. 6, she imagined ‘Le Coeur qui tremble’, about motherhood, and ‘Ma vie dans la tienne’, about female friendship. "With my friends, we are passionate about these issues in psychology. And even "psycho", or how we inherit from our mothers neuroses and how to break free." In talking with the artists, she reflects their thoughts and anxieties. A bit like a friend. Or shrink.
---------------------------------------------------
Unlike some of her other ‘clients’, Lara co-wrote the lyrics with her, which undoubtedly involved compromises on both their parts – as both would appear to have been used to working alone in that area. But given that the lyrics Ms. Hesme writes comes from talking with the singers anyway, it may well have been a comfortable process.
Concerning the tour, tickets are now available to some of the additional sites already publicized, e.g.,
Antwerp: tinyurl.com/laraanvers
Geneva: tinyurl.com/larageneve
As Lara’s ‘team’ keeps reminding people, a list of the concert dates and ticket availability is included in the ‘Events’ portions of her FB site – which indicates tickets are now available for three of them, so far.
And ‘Decibels Productions’, who are handling the tour, has their own website for her, at: decibelsprod.com/artistes/lara-fabian/, although no dates are as yet included. It seems somewhat odd that Lara and her team are publicizing them, tickets are being sold, and this site is still empty.
An article concerning the new album and the tour appeared online, at (http://www.concertlive.fr/actualite/lara-fabian-retour-scene-deux-nouveaux-albums-2016-8540378). Once again it mentions an English album for 2016. Here’s the translation:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian: back on stage with two new albums in 2016
Lara Fabian will be back on the roads of France in 2016! After being forced to cancel her tour in 2014 because of health problems, the singer is preparing a new album due out in November 2015 and a second English album.
Admittedly, Lara Fabian remained discreet her last years because of health concerns. One that has changed her musical register, preferring to emphasize her lyrics and not her vocal prowess, and cut short her previous opus, that was to be produced on 80 dates between 2013 and 2014.
The tour was originally scheduled to pass through France, Eastern Europe and Belgium and to promote her album "Le Secret". In autumn 2013, an accident on a TV stage nevertheless forced Lara Fabian to cancel her tour in 2014. The star had indeed suffered a severe hearing loss and a tour would have been a great risk for her.
Fortunately 2015 allows her to return under better auspices. On November 6, the star will unveil her opus in French: "Ma vie dans la tienne." A first single "Quand je ne chante pas" was unveiled June 15, 2015 and promises a return in line with the albums "Carpe Diem" in 1994, "Pure" in 1996 and "Nue" in 2001.
A tendency that she will confirm live starting from the month of March 2016.
Lara Fabian will perform in effect at the Rounbais Coliseum March 16, at the Théâtre de Liege Forum March 19, at the Silo in Marseilles March 22, at the Nantes International Convention Centre on March 24, at the Leman Theatre in Geneva on 1 June, and at the Cité Internationale of Lyon on June 4. The highlight of this tour, a concert in Paris is scheduled on June 3 at the Palais des Congrès.
------------------------------------------------------
As we have learned over the years, especially with respect to English albums, SEEING (or hearing) is very definitely required before believing
While we’re on the subject of albums, Nicolas Boucaud on the MZ FB site notes that the three albums Lara keeps comparing the new one to, Carpe Diem, Pure and Nue are being re-released on October 22 under Lara’s own production company, ‘9 Productions’, though perhaps distributed by Warner:
www.amazon.fr/Nue-Lara-Fabian/dp/B015RMHGTS/ref=sr_1_613?ie=UTF8&qid=1444136571&sr=8-3&keywords=Lara+Fabian+Nue
www.amazon.fr/Pure-Lara-Fabian/dp/B0000ZS9YY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1444136571&sr=8-3&keywords=Lara+Fabian+Pure
www.amazon.fr/Carpe Diem-Lara-Fabian/dp/B015RMHGXO/ref=sr_1_3613?ie=UTF8&qid=1444136571&sr=8-3&keywords=Lara+Fabian+Carpe%20Diem
The price for each of these is 8-9 euros, about ½ that of the Polydor (Universal) version available on the same site. There’s no indication that the song list will be any different, nor is there reason to expect it to be. The thought is that Lara can offer these at cut-rate prices if they’re fully under her control, and that might be useful for those fans in her international audience who have yet to obtain them (and who are lured into buying them by the continual references of the new album to them). This approach could then also be employed for her other albums, so perhaps we can expect more to appear in the future.
There is now an advertisement for the movie of the Prague concert; it can be seen at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bL4XVEn1Xs
or equivalently,
www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaCPtJ9PKls
Concerning more immediately pending events: Lara’s upcoming concerts in Turkey are proving immensely popular, so much so that she has added yet a third performance, for the following day (so they now extend from March 15-17), as shown in this poster:
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803.1073741829.201065806601591/992385074136323/?type=3&theater
Tickets are available at: tinyurl.com/Larazorlu2015
An article about these events appeared in the ‘Daily News’ in Turkey, in English. Here is what is now apparently the standard publicity blurb:
---------------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian comes to Istanbul
Famous singer Lara Fabian, who has sold over 20 million records around the world, will offer a unique taste of music to fans at the Zorlu Performing Arts Center Turkcell Stage on Oct. 15.
Fabian, a Canadian citizen born in Belgium in 1970, is the best-selling Belgian female singer of all time. She represented Luxemburg in the 33rd Eurovision Song Contest in 1988 and ranked 4th with the song “Croire.”
She showed a unique performance with 13 songs in TV series and movies between 1991 and 2013, and won the “Best Soundtrack” award for “Final Fantasy” in the World Soundtrack Awards in 2002. She became very popular with favorite songs such as “I Will Love Again” and “Je’Taime,” and performed the song “Al Götür Beni” in a duet with Turkish singer Mustafa Ceceli in 2014.
Tickets for the Istanbul concert are available at Biletix.

In addition, Lara reportedly will be present for "La Grande Soirée CAP 48", the Belgian Telethon on TV station RTBF, October 11th. Among others present will be Emmanuel Moire and Laura Pausini. The charity helps with children’s medical problems, and has a network of some 11,000 volunteers. The following site has an article on the event, and indicates how to contribute (http://www.rtbf.be/tv/emission/detail_cap-48/actualites/article_la-grande-soiree-cap-48-ce-dimanche-11-octobre-sur-la-une?id=9095635&emissionId=138).

Rumor has it that Lara will be heavily involved in promotional appearances this coming week, as well as being in Brussels for the charity event. In addition, Lara’s guest appearance on ‘Les Annees Bonheur’ with Patrick Sebastien should air on October 10th; it is the show in which guests are encouraged to “relive grand moments of nostalgia” through “anecdotes, little secrets and happy memories”. And we may well see the actual video of Lara’s second single. Full steam ahead, with one month ‘til the album’s release.

There is now an advertisement for the movie of the Prague concert; it can be seen at:

or equivalently,

Concerning more immediately pending events: Lara’s upcoming concerts in Turkey are proving immensely popular, so much so that she has added yet a third performance, for the following day (so they now extend from March 15-17), as shown in this poster:

Tickets are available at: tinyurl.com/Larazorlu2015
An article about these events appeared in the ‘Daily News’ in Turkey, in English. Here is what is now apparently the standard publicity blurb:
---------------------------------------------------------
