Lara spent much of this past week on vacation, as evidenced by her sexy photo at:
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803.1073741829.201065806601591/967558656618965/?type=1&theater
with the caption, “Un dernier jour “sea and sun” (A last day [of] sea and sun). Fans responded by wishing her a happy vacation, and showing their appreciation for the photo!
As to where this was, perhaps she told us in an earlier post (from nine days ago) where, in addition to linking to a video of the Italian Medley she performed at ‘La Fete de la musique’, she included the caption “How about a trip all together to Italy today?” As we know, her mother’s family, and possibly husband’s as well, could serve as welcoming destinations in that country.
You may remember Lara posted another photo of herself in a bathing suit earlier this summer, on her Instagram site
with the caption, “…Sunshine…sweet sunshine…” In the game that relates personality type to one’s choice of locale, there is no question Lara would choose ‘the beach’ over ‘mountains’, [in fact, she has said that], proving what we already know: she’s an extrovert (http://www.today.com/money/beach-or-mountains-study-shows-travel-choices-reveal-your-personality-t38921)
In her absence, Lara’s ‘team’, recalling that Lara displayed the book by Marc Levy “Elle et lui” in the recent video of ‘Quand je ne chante pas’, tried to involve the fans with a question concerning what book they would recommend to Lara. As you might have expected the choices were all over the place, but several stood out. Different people suggested books by Paolo Coelho; of course, we know Lara does not have to be convinced on that score, as he appears to be one of her favorite authors. Of perhaps general interest to fans was the following post:
-------------------------------------------------
Alla Sazhina: Good day to you, Lara and team! Excellent mood!
The latest book which I read is "Lara Fabian. Openheartedly". It is already the third, exclusive book with Lara's interviews for different years, the translations of songs and Lara's quotes. Also the book is sated with colorful photos and drawings from the Russian fans.
Founders of the book - the Russian fan club of Lara
“Lara Fabian. Connecting People”
------------------------------------------------
This Russian site now has a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/LaraFabianCP). The general URL ((vk.com/lf_cp) has some 37,000 fans, including people from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakstan, etc. If anyone is interested in these 'books', they might send a message to them concerning their availability.
Another response, this one of personal relevance, I include here because of the unusual synchronicity associated with it…
------------------------------------------
Milena Zareva: Good morning Lara! I've been re-reading one of my favourite books - "Forsyte Saga" by John Galsworthy. I highly recommend it to you if you haven't read it. Have a lovely day.
-----------------------------------------
The unlikely (personal) aspect of this is that for the last few weeks I’ve been watching (via youtube) the 1967 TV series of ‘The Forsyte Saga’, some 26 shows that starred many well-known British actors. What are the chances that the book on which this 50 year old TV series is based should just happen to be recommended to Lara to read?
This is really off-topic, but here is some perspective on the TV show (from ceejbot.com): “In early 1967, the BBC aired a 26-episode costume drama called The Forsyte Saga. On Sunday nights when the Saga was on, social life stopped. Dinner parties were scheduled around it, and vespers at some churches was moved to allow churchgoers to watch. When the show was aired in the US on PBS, it was just as much of a success. The public’s appetite for more costume drama inspired Masterpiece Theater. It was nothing more than high-class soap, but it was well-acted high class soap.”
Perhaps - imitating the younger generations - instead of reading, Lara would like to watch the show on Youtube instead? In what may well be a sign of these times, Lara’s team’s request for reading suggestions got 229 comments, while Lara’s picture of herself on the beach received over 1000.
Lara now appears to be back, or at least is back posting, as this morning she left the following (non-beach) picture of herself, at
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803.1073741829.201065806601591/969401106434720/?type=1&theater
with the caption, “My motto of the day: " Think less, live more". She has often proclaimed that overthinking/worrying is one of her greatest problems, one that many people in this day and age share. She followed that with her somewhat standard, “Have a beautiful day!” Fans responded with similar sentiments or mottos; one in particular reads:
Natasha Nefedova: My motto of the day: "It's better to regret something you have done than something you haven't done" . Lara agreed, with the comment “good one!” It would seem to be something she has always taken to heart!
Meanwhile, the upcoming new album, “Ma vie dans la tienne’ continues to be promoted by her team in its various editions,, available at the following links:
tinyurl.com/p3gttoj (FNAC) for the CD or Deluxe set
tinyurl.com/q47lks7 (AMAZON.FR), for the CD or Deluxe set
tinyurl.com/n9v4hef [STEREO BOUTIQUE] for the "Fan Deluxe" box set, an ultra-limited edition
There is still no new information on exactly what will be on the accompanying DVD, available in the ‘Deluxe’ and ‘Fan Deluxe’ editions, except for the comment provided by FNAC: “Includes some unreleased bonus titles and exclusives composed by Igor Krutoy”. Perhaps this will then have some of the songs Lara has presented at the New Wave Festival the last few years (in lieu of another Russian 'Mademoiselle Zhivago' album).
As for the tracklist, we know of six songs, as one can see in the nice presentation put together by Lara Fabian – PHQ (https://www.facebook.com/353946178085395/photos/pb.353946178085395.-2207520000.1440377446./699364036876939/?type=3&theater). They are: “Quand je ne chante pas”; “Non coupable”’ “Ma vie dans la tienne”; “Le Coeur qui tremble”; “S’il ne reste qu’un ami”’ and “Elle danse”. With six more to go, some fans thought that Lara’s use of the phrase “sea and sun” in quotations as caption to her beach photo might imply that those words would factor into a title as well, though there’s no other evidence for it.
One thing apparently not in doubt is the release date, November 6th. Lara fans are used to this being the least certain of aspects concerning her releases; many times the date has changed time and time again (the delays sometimes lasting months). The question arises as to why this has been so well known to the specific day so many months in advance?
One aspect of this specificity is that the release date is now strongly encouraged to be on a Friday. You may know that an agreement was reached that worldwide releases should be on that day of the week, everywhere at once, starting this summer (http://www.billboard.com/articles/business/6487289/friday-global-record-release-day-ifpi). The uniformity of release day is an effort to stem piracy, since in this ‘digital world’, once it becomes available in one country, it’s available everywhere. And, as the article notes, “A study found that a majority of consumers who bother to care which day new music comes out prefer to hear it on Fridays and Saturdays.” Since the rule has only recently gone into effect, not all album releases are obeying it as of yet, but it appears the vast majority are doing so.
BTW, ‘worldwide release’ of Lara’s new album does include Quebec as her team recently mentioned; we’ll see if it comes out as a physical CD in the States, where so far amazon.com does not list it, or other European countries, such as Italy, England, Germany, the Czech Republic, etc. – or even Turkey and Russia. If past practices are any indications, most likely it will not, with digital distribution the primary means of availability there, or on-line ordering from one of the above links (though Lara has never had Warner as her actual record company previously).
What is somewhat surprising concerning the new album is the month it will become available. Lara does not seem to have released an album in November before, at least not in France. According to the information provided by ‘Charts in France’, the months of her CD releases have been: January; three in February; April; two in May; June; July; August; and two in October. November is fairly late in the year if one wants to maximize momentum for the holiday-buying crowd in December.
Many singers in France, if they are releasing albums in the fall, tend to favor September or October. Amazon.fr has a listing of albums to come in the next three months, available at:
(http://www.amazon.fr/s/ref=amb_link_181738947_3?ie=UTF8&bbn=301062&rh=i%3Apopular%2Cn%3A301062%2Cp_69%3A14x-14y%2Cp_n_date%3A183202031&pf_rd_m=A1X6FK5RDHNB96&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-1&pf_rd_r=1WS99F138EJ02YHA54YH&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=612757487&pf_rd_i=301062). Most of those for which they know the date are in the next few weeks. For example, for the relevant French singers, these include:
August 28th: (Emmanuel Moire; Maitre Gims; Christophe Willem)
Sept. 4th: (France Gall; Michael Berger; Chimene Badi; Indochine; Michel Sardou; Francis Cabrel; Florent Pagny; Isabelle Boulay) among many others…
Sept. 11: (Gainsbourg)
Sept. 18 (Cosma)
Sept. 25: (Murat; Sophie; Dessay)
There is a rush to get new albums on the shelves “à la rentrée” – at the beginning of September. There are a few albums whose release date in October is known, but, although my search wasn’t exhaustive, Lara’s date in November is considerably deeper into the fall than others, either because there won’t be many or they don’t know their release date that far in advance with the same certainty. The reluctance to release albums in November – or even more so in December – is apparent in other countries as well (e.g., en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_2015_albums#November).
The most likely reason for the November release was the desire to set the CD release date in tandem with that of the ‘Prague Concert’ movie, and perhaps one or both of them (or the accompanying DVD) was not expected to be ready ‘til that time. It’s also possible, given this joint release concept, that the desired movie theaters were not available until, or only available during, the first week in November. If the movie was indeed the reason for any delay, we’ll see how well that works out… If nothing else, there will probably be less new musical competition.
