Several items vie for top position in this past week’s news, but we will opt for the one more indicative of the future – news concerning the new album and single - as the lead, as it should not be buried. Lara has set up her official website (larafabian.com) as the lead promotional URL for her new album, which will be released November 6th, 2015. On it you can sign up for a newsletter (the first Lara has had in some years). Historically, Lara has often had websites for her new albums (remember Lara, nude, in the block of ice that was slowly melting during February 2005 as the time approached for the release of ‘Neuf’), so it should have been no surprise, although it was an interesting choice to use her URL rather than establish a Facebook site.
She has also provided a promotional ‘teaser’, both here and on her FB site for the release of her upcoming single, “Quand je ne chante pas”. It can also be seen at:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMyMb9_Dhzw&feature=youtu.be
While we don’t hear too much of the song, what is audible seems to have an ‘anthem-like’ quality about it with strong singing/emotion, as did some of her songs on ‘Pure’; Lara said the new album will be more representative of those older releases. However, we know that isn’t enough – the song she sang at San Remo, ‘Voce’, had those qualities as well, without reaching the dramatic emotional peaks (or success) that ‘Tout’ or ‘Je t’aime’ achieved. We’ll know better in a week when the full single is released.
[As can be seen, the video is as much or more a promotion of Lara herself as it is for the song. Given that this is primarily aimed at the audience in France and Belgium, it’s a bit disconcerting that she feels she has to trumpet her overall achievements to them, as if they were a new public to whom she has to introduce herself, and impress. Also, one wonders where the ’20 million album sales’ figure comes from. Not so long ago it was 12 million albums plus enough singles to reach “20 million discs” (approximately). Then interviewers in other countries started to abbreviate that as “20 million records”. It is surprising to see Lara herself, or at least her own promotion, making this assertion, unless she knows something ‘Charts in France’ doesn’t about her total sales (which isn’t completely impossible)].
We’ll return to the ‘promotional’ aspect for the new single/album later in this Update.
Meanwhile, the other lead story is the last two concerts on Lara’s extensive ‘best of’ tour, in Bratislava and Prague, with the latter filmed for an upcoming DVD release. Starting with Bratislava, on June 3rd, we have some excellent videos, most close up:

EXCLUSIVE: The Lara Fabian concert was more than a musical experience. We know for which politician she is a muse!
The Aegon Arena in Bratislava was almost sold out for the concert of the world famous French-speaking singer. Lara Fabian, back after three years, again conquered the Slovak audience. Her well known and lesser known songs were literally emotional experiences. In the stands we met her loyal fans, among which is a member of our Parliament. Whose policy of listening to her songs in the car did we exclusively reveal?
Although no commercial for the performer is played on our radio, Lara Fabian came to Bratislava for the second time. She was presented to the Slovak audience first in March 2012, and the concert yesterday met with great success.
The genre of singing for the artist is her emotional and expressive characteristic voice, which she showed on stage right at the beginning. For her concert therefore one should not expect a lighting effects show or dance creations - Lara Fabian and her voice are at the forefront from the first pitch to the last. With chills, feeling for music, and here and there a tear. The singer is fully present.
As the first date
The two-hour concert, which Slovaks paid for yesterday, kicked off with perhaps the most desirable and best-known song “Je t'aime”, to which the audience immediately and jubilantly responded with applause.
The first three songs were French: “Je t'aime”, previously mentioned, which is also known in the administration of Martina Schindler's singing talent competition. “J'y crois encore” followed, and then “Il est lune”.
Lara expressed her gratitude for the audience’s support and the singer said that always when she sings at a new site, it reminds her of "a kiss on the first date”, and although it is our second time, she will do everything to make it today like it was a "first time”.
Language combination
In addition to English Lara Fabian sings in French, Italian, Spanish and speaks all these languages fluently speaks. The blend was introduced in the following compositions, Caruso, Angel, I Guess I Loved You, Calling You, I Will Love Again, Alfonsina y el Mar, La Difference, Immortelle, Make Me Yours Tonight, Yeliel, Pas Sans Toi, Mademoiselle Hyde.
If you understand at least one language which Lara sings, you know to enjoy and feel the song even more. They are full of emotions, love, desires, disappointments, pain and joy. And she openly talked between songs. She lifted up her personal story, of relationships and tolerance between people, without distinction - as well as singing the song itself, La Difference.
Contact with the audience
Lara is a performer who likes to communicate with the audience. Evident even in her performance of the song I Will Love Again, in which the audience sang the chorus. Another artistic performance was presented as a game by the “Water angel”.
(video of Il est lune)
Big fan directly from Parliament
45-year-old Lara since her discovery has been equated to 'follow’ Céline Dion. At times her vocal range really reminds you that before you stands the Canadian diva. Lara Fabian is not in any way a "sweet" singer just for women, as shown, in the present age mix of masters and younger grades.
(picture of Lara with President Peter Pellegrini)
Among those attending we met President Peter Pellegrini, who told us exclusively that as a big fan of hers he took the time for a concert in Paris and her CD enriched his travel.
He wrote about his experiences on his social network profiles. "This nice, beautiful and modest lady singing so that I had goose bumps all over your body. What pleased me most, however, she found a few minutes for me. Lara, thank you for a wonderful experience”, Pellegrini shared his impressions.
Our camera at the end of the second captured video directly in the spotlight.
(video of J’y crois encore)
When leaving the hall, the audience left with the fact that the concert was spectacular. The only thing that bothered those who have been away from the stage, was the scene was without side screens.
Slovak journalists remained a little disappointed that Lara Fabian did not provide either group or individual interviews. The singer who left the podium to a vigorous standing ovation, brought us a mix of music and emotion, and may rightly be forgiven.
Her voice and lyrics are answers to all questions - about her and her life. You just have to become absorbed in them.

And there was also the following (translated) article (link from Lara Fabianweb.com) www.teraz.sk/kultura/lara-fabian-vytvorila-v-bratislave-nezab/138810-clanok.html):
-------------------------------------------------------------
Lara Fabian has created an unforgettable atmosphere in Bratislava
Bratislava's audience rewarded her with endless applause and standing ovation.
Bratislava June 4 (OTS) - The Bratislava Aegon Arena last night honored a visiting singer with an extraordinary voice - Lara Fabian. The Canadian with Italian-Belgian origin in Slovakia experienced a warm welcome by the fans, as shown, in a nearly sold out concert arena. Not missing were the concert hits Je t'aime , Adagio , and I will love again. This cultural event could not be missed even by President of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Mr. Peter Pellegrini, who thanked her personally. The charismatic singer was showcased in Slovakia in a nearly two-hour concert, which began shortly after eight o'clock. The introduction tones of the French ballad Je t'aime were accompanied by applause. The singer proved the uniqueness of her voice for the entire show and won the hearts of not only her loyal fans. The quality of her singing expression, which was demonstrated in yesterday's hot summer evening, belonged without doubt with the best that Slovakia has recently experienced.
Along with Lara Fabian were her Israeli musicians who took the stage behind her and did not leave. From the initial tones the audience inclined toward Lara and listened carefully to the songs alternating with reflections on life. The singer talked about her childhood, man, angels, and of love, which is the inspiration for her. In the middle of a concert in one of the songs she put down the microphone and masterfully filled the Aegon arena with her beautiful voice, which did not need the help of any technology. In the concert she also thanked her true love Rick Allison who in the words of the singer is one of her guardian angels. The concert under the baton of Lara has passed very quickly and certainly left a great impression. The singer was able to create an unforgettable atmosphere that the audience rewarded with applause and standing ovation. The continuous applause from the fans requested the talented singer to perform one extra song after her departure from the podium. The charismatic diva with a beautiful voice graced us with the visit to Slovakia for the second time and we hope that in the future she will return. In the following days, she continues her tour in the neighboring Czech Republic, which is waiting for a concert in Prague on Friday.
------------------------------------------------------------
Lara certainly seemed to have performed at a high level there, as she has throughout this tour, and aptly rewarded her fans in that country, which interestingly enough included the President of the National Council (‘Wikipedia’ calls him the ‘Speaker’ of the National Council). Interesting reference to Rick Allison at the concert, although one doesn’t know what was ‘lost in translation’. Also interesting that Lara did not meet with any members of the press in that country – perhaps she still has to let her ears recover after each concert, and this was nearly two hours long, longer than she previously said she can safely sing.
Then it was on to Prague, for the last concert and the recording of the DVD. Again we have a few nice videos available:

You know it in the streets of Prague? We caught Lara Fabian completely without makeup
June 8, 2015 5:55
For the second time in seven months singer Lara Fabian surged into Prague. In her tour in October here last fall the forty-five year old diva organized a concert at the Karlin Forum and now she decided to shoot her DVD during it.
Super.cz caught up with the singer just before her special concert. Originally a Belgian-Italian singer currently living in Montreal [sic] travelled during Thursday morning totally incognito without supervision only accompanied by bodyguards, manager and a couple of friends into the famous Prague Cafe Cafe-Cafe. But if the artist decided to remain in hiding, it was not exactly the smartest choice to rendezvous with Czech friends in this iconic company, which is popular with Czech socialites.
Fabian did not help the meeting, editor Super.cz singer revealed without duress. Probably due to the absence of makeup, the singer was initially reluctant to pose for our prompt photographer. After she put on big sunglasses she was persuaded, and made a joint photo with her companions.
---------------------------------------------------------------
(The five accompanying images to the article show what they’re talking about ).
Then an article from Prague about the concert itself (thanks to the link from LaraFabianweb.com)
(http://musicserver.cz/clanek/50632/lara-fabian-forum-karlin-praha-5-6-2015/), translated below:
---------------------------------------------------------------
Flap ... Lara Fabian in Prague for the third time ... Action!
Actually, for the fourth time, but outside of a tour for the album "Le Secret", for the third time. Canadian, or Belgian singer Lara Fabian returned to Prague at the Karlin Forum after about half a year to provide a special concert that ended a nearly two-year concert tour. And even invites a TV staff.
It is not customary for world music stars to select Prague, and the Czech Republic, by extension, as a place to shoot the concert DVD. Actually, you count on the fingers of one hand - Radiohead , Gregorian , metal vocalist Blaze Bayley, Heritage and jazzman George Duke . Perhaps you remember someone else, but basically there is not much, and no wonder. Subject to certain exceptions, such as the fans of Linkin Park , Czech audience is fairly static, and somehow little enthusiastic. And then names like "Live In Paris", "Live In Berlin" or maybe "Live In Tokyo" sound little more chic than "Live In Prague". However, Lara Fabian having none of that obviously doesn’t think so. Two sold-out concerts in October last year convinced her that it was in the Karlin Forum where she finds the best audience and space to record her first DVD, after nine long years.
Friday's concert was virtually no different from the one I had seen in October - the same scene, except for two songs the same setlist, and even the same dress, Lara Fabian and of course her crystal clear and very precise singing, which makes her one of the best pop singers today. You could say that at the moment you could just link the above to the October report, and it would totally testify about the atmosphere.
The third stop in Prague was in fact the very last concert of the tour, and this was reflected in the overall mood - on the one hand relaxed, slightly melancholic, that ends it all, and yet, thanks to the filming, quite festive. Although the singer Lara Fabian is precise, that is not to say that a man who visited the two concerts, would have felt that he was looking at a repeat performance. Her songs can always be sold in a slightly different way and see how incredibly enjoyed. Every moment, the audience was throwing hearts and kisses, and although she had a concert rather intimate in nature, sometimes even danced.
If you wonder how it the footage will look from this concert, of course, nobody knows exactly, but we can certainly tell a French crew took care of her, so it will not fall as the number of Czech concert DVDs, where one has the feeling, it looks rather a sporty transmission. But certainly it is not near what we know of "Un Regard 9 Live" and certainly not a 'Live 2002', where all the Parisian Zenith breathes and sings with Lara Fabian. Since these two entries passed, a lot of water has run in the Vltava River and in the Seine. Lara herself has changed, and so certainly has her audience. She already does not run around the stage as before, is far more serious and, moreover, during this tour, bet on some more intimate tunes.
Those other live concerts were certainly ruled by the French, as would be needed for more than ten minutes of Humana. The Prague audience, which, though mixed up from different nationalities, had only a third of the people French on Friday. Frankly, most had a problem singing even the notorious "I Will Love Again". In addition the concert seating had parking in front of the stage considerably more expensive, so the biggest, but often less affluent fans were displaced from contact with the performers. There was a time when the faithful were able to wait several hours before the hall just to be in the first place, that’s probably never to return, and the overall atmosphere of the concerts has changed.
It definitely does not mean that visitors who sold out again Karlin Hall on Friday, was cold. Conversely. Thunderous applause and shouts showed their enthusiasm not only in-between individual songs but also spontaneously within them, and they had to be calmed several times from behind. There were times when they even managed to drown Lara in accompaniment, not to mention the fact that although there was a concert at the session, it seemed it was the first time they have done a few songs.
An influence this time from the Prague audience and it was really nice to be part of something in a certain way to make history . By now, most visitors, including me, will anxiously watch the news, which will record the sales of this concert, and we are very curious how fans worldwide will respond to it. It will be a kind of our calling card. Let yourself be surprised.
----------------------------------------------------------
And a (translated) French report, from the Lara Fabian est ton autre site: ‘The audience was in top form for the last of the tour “The Greatest Hits”. It ended beautifully. The public was disparate, there were fans from Russia, France, Romania,...
For the live recording, there were two men who filmed the stage and they were a few meters from it or on the stage. Two cameras were also on the ceiling to film the room and the stage. The show at the Karlin forum will be put on DVD in the very near future. No release date has been scheduled for the moment!”
----------------------------------------------------------
Well, that’s it – the end of the ‘best of’ tour! It certainly has taken Lara, and us, to a wide variety of locations to hear Lara in top form sing before enthusiastic audiences. It sounds as if those characteristics will have been captured for the DVD. It might actually sell very well world-wide, where audiences have been primed with these concerts, although one wouldn’t have such great expectations for it in France. Hopefully, Lara and her people will recognize the potential of this larger audience, and exploit it.
Lara herself acknowledged the ending, not only in comments during the concert in Prague, but also in the following statement on her FB site: “Back from Prague...
End of this magical tour around the world...Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all this love ❤
I love you...
with the accompanying photo:
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.215378125170359.50343.201065806601591/918772034830961/?type=1&theater
So now she switches into promotional mode for her next single and album. In addition to the website and video noted at the beginning of this Update, Lara posted the following (translated) comment on her FB site, along with an accompanying picture: “I just got back from the stage of 20 years of 'Des enfants de la télé'! Happy Birthday Arthuro!! I adore you...”
www.facebook.com/larafabianofficial/photos/a.622966977744803.1073741829.201065806601591/919881824719982/?type=1&theater
While there is no guarantee she will perform the single on this show, it has to be thought of as part of her general promotion to the French audience. It will likely be broadcast later this month. The single itself will likely be broadcast on French radio stations starting June 15th, e.g. on RFM (http://www.rfm.fr/actualite/lara-fabian-son-nouveau-single-attendu-le-15-juin). In addition, it’s been verified that Lara will be on “Fete de la musique” on June 20th (http://www.france2.fr/emissions/fete-de-la-musique/le-programme_65339). As noted in the previous update, here are some more of the upcoming promotional appearances:
June or July: Vendredi tout est permis (TF1)
June : C a vous la suite (France 5)
June 20: "Du soleil et des tubes" in Nice (France 2)
June: "Touche pas à mon poste" (D8)
July: "Village départ" (France 3)
As noted in response to the last Update, there has been no mention of a new English album, which originally was supposed to be released in tandem – although how the two could be promoted simultaneously is a mystery. There is still time for it to surface, but it may well be another example of Lara’s good intentions that fail to materialize.
In other news, the LaraFabianweb site noted the following section of an interview Tom York did recently at [http://paris.weemove.com/DANS_L_UNIVERS_ULTRA_WAVE_DE_TOM_YORK-Musique-mag_article-991-78-0-0.aspx], posted at
(
Here’s the translation (only of the part concerning Lara…)
-------------------------------------------------------------
Interviewer: Recently you've remixed Lara Fabian, I thought to remix a French artist was a bit kitsch ..
Tom York: To be honest when I was offered a first collaboration with her I said no. I need to be in line with the project and that it corresponds to me at a minimum before being able to work on something. I refused, explaining that it was not at all what I was listening to which could stick, it didn’t match. Two months later they again asked me and right there you say to yourself, two times, they really want it to be you. So you think a little, and you tell yourself that the artist, even if she's not at all who you listen to, she’s still someone who has a name, she’s a big star who still fills rooms. She sold many many albums. So we made a remix. From one remix, we went to two and then moved to three. It was also a challenge to remix Lara Fabian. I had the instructions to give her a more current sound but not to the "boom boom" either, not the style of David Guetta, for it was necessary to respect her voice. I do not know how to accelerate her voice. I had to keep pace with her tempo to try to do something. There is a remix that is fairly club, the others are a little more lounge, a little more early evening.
------------------------------------------------------------
These remixes continue to show up in odd places …for example, as the Lara Fabian Web site noted 10 days ago, on IDF radio (http://idfm98.free.fr/) (Israel).

This last (acoustic) phase of her career, one occasioned or at least influenced to some extent by the injury to her ears, is now over, and it’s on to the next one. Not discussed so far is whether the new album will have loud percussion beats that Lara may have to minimize, or avoid in concert. We’ll soon see as the single is released and the promotional tour proceeds. At the very least, her new album promises a return to an ‘old direction’ of ‘hits’ (as opposed to the concept album of ‘Le Secret’), just as her just-finished tour of older songs will lead to a new DVD. Usually the coming of summer is a down period for the French, including Lara and her fan sites. Not this year, starting next week!
David
